For their second launch a-records turns to Sandburgen aka Ralf Noetzel.
With Sandorama he delivers a varied 4-tracker which dances around minimal techno yet could find itself dropped all over.

A1 - Quartz: atmospheric minimal trance, clattering beats, insistent bass and a mesmeric synth harmony for early morning dancefloors.
A2 - Sandorama: the title track breaks in with a stumbling bassline which funks its way across stomping minimal beats and fluttering white noise percussion.
B1 - Sunshine: the non four to the floor track of the EP. Hypnotic staccato synths culminate in an atmospheric sound spectacle, soundtrack to gamma radiation.
B2 - Minced Meat: inspired by 80s synth-pop anthems and trance fundamentals. The track starts off with dry bass and drum sounds before being carried away by swelling synth arpeggios.


Sandorama continues the a-records saga with the same philosophy yet an alternative form. Where Sumad rocked with brilliant dryness, Sandburgen wallows in treacle-laced melodies without lapsing into mainstream

Für ihre zweite Veröffentlichung holen sich a-records den Düsseldorfer Produzenten Sandburgen aka Ralf Noetzel ins Haus. Mit Sandorama liefert er einen abwechslungsreichen 4 Tracker ab, der nicht nur in Minimal-Sets seinen Platz finden dürfte.
A1- Quartz: Ein athmosphärischer Minimal Trance Track. Klackernder Beat, eindringlicher Bass und eine hypnotische Synth-Harmonie, dürften die Crowd auch in den frühen Morgenstunden noch auf Reisen schicken.
A2 - Sandorama: Der Titel-Track kommt mit einer originell-stolpernden Base-Line an den Start, die über stampfenden Minimal Beats und flatternden Whitenoise-Percussions daher-funkt.
B1 - Sunshine: Der Non-4 to the floor Track der E.P: Hypnotische Staccato-Synths gipfeln in atmosphärischem Klang-Spektakel. Der Soundtrack zum finalen Sonnenaufgang.
B2: Minced Meat: Inspiriert von 80er Jahre Synth-Pop Hymnen und der Grundidee des Trance, beginnt der Track mit trockenen Bass- und Drum-Sounds und wird dann langsam von seinem verhalltem Synth-Arpeggio davon getragen.

'Sandorama'schließt nahtlos an den Grundgedanken der hoffnungsvoll beginnenden a-records Serie an. Wo Sumad genial trocken rockte, wird hier an schmalziger Melodik nicht gegeizt, ohne in Mainstream-Gedudel zu verfallen.

The culmination of nearly four years in the studio with collaborators across seven cities, Michael
Badal finally releases his debut album "Now That We're Human" on Black Hole Recordings.
12 progressive house and trance tracks feature the vocal talents of Jan Johnston, Sue McLaren,
Haliene, Ellie Lawson, Tiff Lacey, Lotte Kestner, Shanokee, and Zoe Sky Jordan, with co-writing
credits by Plumb and Shift Four, each contributing to an atmosphere that celebrates the intimacy
of life. "These songs are about love, closeness, and our humanity," says the 25-year old LA
native. "I hope the album brightens the listener's day, if even for a moment, and helps them
realize that life is beautiful."

"Now That We're Human" personifies what it means to be a producer in a digital age. Michael
and his songwriters worked together strictly through Internet file sharing and he was only able to
meet a handful of them in person throughout the duration of production. While electronic dance
music can often be perceived as "artificial" or "heartless," the album plays on the fact that even
though the artists were never in the same room together, they were able to find common ground
through their lyrics and songwriting and preserve the human element in music creation.

* This unique and powerful collaboration with Japanese rock band Rovo presents another side of System 7 with Steve Hillage's lead guitar fully to the fore.
* Rovo are a popular Japanese psychedelic progressive rock/jam band. They feature two drummers, funky bass and innovative keyboards and are fronted by guitarist Seichi Yamamoto (formerly with The Boredoms) and masterful electric violinist Yuji Katsui.
* System 7 is the dance music project of Steve Hillage and Miquette Giraudy, presenting a unique combination of tech-house beats and live musicianship, and who have had a strong influence on the development of psychedelic ambient and electronica.
* Phoenix Rising is the combination of System 7 and Rovo playing together, sometimes using the techno beats as the rhythmic basic and sometimes using the live drums, seamlessly morphing from one to the other.
* The full Phoenix Rising studio album is set for UK release on September 23rd 2013, featuring original collaborations from System 7 and ROVO. It also includes a new arrangement of Meeting of the Spirits by the Mahavishnu Orchestra - a perfect showcase for the album's outstanding blend of guitar and electric violin.
* Fans of System 7's Steve Hillage can be assured that in the format of Phoenix Rising his masterful electric guitar style is fully unleashed, with extensive soloing and duets with the electric violin of Rovo's Yuji Katsui.
* Rovo and System 7 are performing a Phoenix Rising tour in March 2014. Confirmed dates are Manchester The Ritz (March 7th), London O2 Shepherds Bush Empire (March 8th) and Amsterdam Melkweg (March 13th). More dates to be added.
