The debut Duality Trax release comes from Dublin artist and Pear label/party co-founder Fio Fa – complete with a killer remix from Naïve label head and Lisbon innovator Violet.

Across three tracks Fio Fa illustrates why he is one of the most vibrant artists to watch, exploring a blend of progressive and rave inspired techno through to down tempo cuts. Violet flips the unhurried aesthetic of 'Transcending Into Nonsense' in favour of stirring breakbeat rhythms, twinkling soundscapes and calming melodies.

Ukrainian/Australian megatalent Tim Jackiw presents a huge record for Scotland's Seventh Sign Recordings.

On 2020's first Keinemusik release, we find Rampa kicking things off in a slightly different way. Instead of continuously enhancing his profile with even more of his own original material, he decided to put out some tunes that he road tested over the last year, creating quite a stir whenever he dropped them. Those are basically tunes he likes to play over and over again - refined by himself to align with his sense of club use premises.

A continuous search for sounds and delicate balances between different elements. A fusion of frequencies, rhythms, harmonies and many other details to recreate real images, esoteric scenarios and mystical settings, where the spirit surrenders to an ethereal freedom, without forgetting the fundamental power of the sacred.

Ten years ago, Acid Test began with a simple concept—each track the label released would make use of the Roland TB-303. Like a producer purposefully paring down their studio setup, or the continuous imperative within underground electronic music to reduce, this concept engendered creativity with the introduction of what seemed to be an aesthetic limit. However, the decade that followed, which now culminates in the triple-LP compilation Ten Years Of Acid Test, proves acid is limitless.

That the Berlin-via-LA label would expand upon the classical conception of acid house and techno is no surprise considering the cast of characters that have come in fold over the past decade. Ten Years Of Acid Test gathers key material from the label's extended family of acid acolytes. There's that Vienna-via-LA maestro of sad, elegant acid Tin Man (Johannes Auvinen), whose "Afters Acid" is both a highlight within his prolific catalogue and a distillation of his symphonic approach to the 303. Detroit giants Erika and Marcellus Pittman, both of whom have released remixes on Acid Test, present their respective and singular Bass Line visions. Erika, the Interdimensional Transmissions lynchpin, crafts a dark, delicate take on broken techno on "Violet Fungus" while Pittman continues his cubist house explorations on "Unknown Species," both tracks straying from typical acid lines in favor of the intricate textures achievable on the 303.

This variation in approach applies to tempo as well. Irish-based master Lerosa, as well as Delsin affiliate VC-118A, delve into downtempo atmospherics. Meanwhile, Japanese deep techno virtuoso Wata Igarashi, SUED co-founder SW. (a regular on Acid Test's leftfield sub-label Avenue 66) and Patricia (one-half of Acid Test act Ociya) use acid as a creative jumping-off point for complex melodic concepts. Wata layers an orchestra of synth-bliss drone overtop a squelchy bassline on "Ephemeral." SW.'s "ChaIAnJAzzz" cycles through an array of dusted chords eventually landing in skewed, fuzzy rave nostalgia, anthemic chords held aloft by a wicked UK-flavour bass line. Patricia's “Higher Still” explores dreamy, IDM-flavoured acid, cinematic synthlines counterbalanced by propulsive, squelching acid.

Acid Test devotees will be thrilled at the return of various luminaries from the catalogue, including Achterbahn D'Amour, Skudge, AAAA, John Tejada and Donato Dozzy, whose memorable remix of Tin Man's "Nonneo" from Acid Test 01 served as a kind of proof of concept for the label. There's new blood too. San Francisco up-and-comer Sepehr makes his label debut with the excellent "Persian Acid Prince," as does Andreas Tilliander's beloved hardware techno project, TM404.

Like the original Hot Mix 5 Acid compilation, which highlighted the original cohort of Chicago acid innovators including Pierre, Fingers and Armando, Ten Years Of Acid Test is a valuable portrait of a group of artists linked by a dedication to innovation within acid, in line with the genre's storied roots. Over ten years, Acid Test has gracefully made a case for the 303's past, present and future, the story of acid continuing to unfurl in unpredictable, addictive patterns.

Alfredo Mazzilli takes you on a hypnotic tour on the 41th installment of the Planet Rhythm Black series. From the euphoric "Clarity" to the more powerful "Unknown Suspect" and the acidic "Murder Situation". The EP closes with the deep and driving "Blind".

Luca Agnelli's Etruria Beat sees Italian artist Bastinov return with a fantastic full-length album entitled
All Through The Night, this Autumn.

Bastinov is a master-craftsmen who imbues his music with melody and spirituality. After first releasing on Etruria in 2013, his standout sound design and the richness of his synth-work has continued to catch attention from the likes of Adam Beyer, Sven Väth, Pan-Pot.

Across six superb EP releases, he has subtly developed his sound and now, on this debut album, makes his most complete and coherent musical statement yet.
'Deep Forest' majestically opens the album, raining true to its title is like a journey through a lush organic landscape. Bubbling synths and drums get you in a trance on 'All Through The Night' and the range of synths on 'Genesis', from smooth to pixelated to thunderous, lend the techno a truly immersive feel. Bastinov then expertly explores a range of moods on suspense-fueled ‘Eternia', over to darker and moodier on 'Hyperion' while 'Dantze' layers up scintillating cosmic keys above elongated grooves that all build and build to an intense peak.

The second half of the album is just as artful, with the surging Detroit styles of 'Evnt' and celestial melodic rain of 'Proteus'. The Veneti artist showcases his ability to make synths take any form as he skews and stretches them to the heavens, or breaks them into crystalline droplets on ‘Arponoid’ and ‘Elaysia’.
This intense, absorbing trip finishes with ‘Der Love Train’ and ‘Devine’ a in a set of highly emotive tracks that sweep to otherworldly spaces and back again with the euphoric vocals of experimental/industrial artist KnowKontrol featuring on ‘The Silence Of The Night’.

Long awaited reissue of Connective Zone's Qwerty EP. Originally released in 2002 on Emoticon, the deep electronica sister label of Headspace Recordings. Fully re-mastered for a fresh 2021 pressing. Connective Zone, aka Lincoln-based duo Graham Sims and Simon Button, have been making their unique brand of deep techno for many years. Warm strings, thick chords, multi-layered synth melodies and crisp beats are the order of the day, with influences coming from early Detroit techno and 'artificial intelligence' era UK electronics. All four tracks pack a soulful punch, drawing from the past but allowing their individual sound to shine through. Rhythmically they range from straight-up 4/4 beats to more syncopated patterns, and are sure to find favour with more adventurous DJs as well as home listeners.

Like trudging through viscous air, I Lost All My Data is a blissed-out barrage of sub-bass that nods to a long-lasting passion for sound system culture.

Uploading turbo-charged wubs with molten glass melodies, the debut EP of Giovanni Bonelli (aka Notte Infinita) is a welcomed update for UK style broken-techno conventions. Booting-up with its title track, the record quadrisects the fabric of digital music, each cut a sonic reprogramming of its predecessor. ‘Slippery Tuff’ references off-kilter club, while on the flip, ‘Ecstatic Dub (Roller Mix)’ climaxes in an ultra-sensory faux-organic whorl. Unplugging the whole thang, ‘Oxygen’ manipulates post-dubstep textures, into a data-roused jungle tunnel.

January is an odd month. After all the fanfare of the festive season the new year can seem like a damp squib. To clean away those Christmas cobwebs, FireScope have drafted in BOA and Mathieu Deranlot for their debut.

BOA is the collective of Behzad & Amarou and Ohes, the former pair being long time music aficionados with a residency in Concrete while the latter is a multi-talented producer and founder of Dynamite Records. Joining the trio is Mathieu Deranlot, a classically trained musical pioneer whose dizzying array of accolades include performances in the Palace of Versailles.

Burbling, juddering, whirling, Nitro comes to life with the synthesizer symphonics of the title piece. A beatless composition, the track simmers in a soup of modulated music where strings float across an echoing expanse. Although those softened subtle tones continue into “Lumière Électronique”, now they are cut with a thumping kick and scissoring snare. Toying with the motifs of techno, the work spirals arcs of melody with traditional undercurrents. Percussion takes centre stage for “Merci Pierre.” Bass drums make their presence known immediately, light and nimble keys dancing behind these broad beats. This playful balance gives the track a dynamism that allows these conjurers to paint vivid audio images of thick lush forests and duck egg blue skies. A spread of styles coalesces to create the enigmatic closer, “Nuit.” From plucked strings scented with eastern aromatics, aquatic piano notes and fragile droplets, the finale is the perfect end to this beautifully crafted EP.

Not only have BOA and Deranlot reimagined ambient techno, they have recast the genre’s foundations and reset its very core. In this beautifully profound quartet of electronic music this French group have married styles, given creativity freedom and produced a jaw dropping debut. What was that about January?

Sascha Dive has made quite an impression on the international house and techno scenes over the last ten years, always dropping powerful DJ sets and inspiring productions with labels like Bondage Music, Rhythm Cult, Deeperfect Records, Cocoon, Raum…musik, Minimood and his own Deep Vibes Recordings, to name only a few. Strongly influenced by the godfathers of deep house like Moodyman, Chez Damier or Ron Trent and following the first waves of top-notch German house imprints, he has progressed to a serious floor fighter since his first official appearance in 2007.

While the original version of the track is designed with solid microhouse and dub influences, the remix drops the classic 4/4 rhythm and goes full dubwise, introducing a stripped-down sound lead by slow-paced drumming patterns, introspective background textures, warm reverberated effects and eerie vocal samples, perfect for lazy afternoons at a beach party or insightful afterhours anywhere. The other two tracks are equally enjoyable, exploring the empowering sounds of house, deep house and tech-house music while incorporating the artist distinct vision and production skills with style and precision.

Milan W (AKA Milan Warmoeskerken) is an Antwerp-based musician. In 2015 he released the Slo Mo cassette, on local label JJ Funhouse. The Intact LP a year later. Compositions constructed from gentle, yet persistent, rhythms. Intricately textured downtempo echoes. Brain-dancing, rather than four-to-the-floor raving. 2017`s split with Ekolalis, for The Hague`s BAKK, made clear the direction Milan`s headed in. His contribution being a seventeen minute float. The kick largely removed. The textures cut-up, expanded and magnified. Envelope, for Ekster, builds on this work.

Citizenn's remix deploys sharp drums, shimmering rhythms and growing modulations before Lubelski offers up playful energies with his version as the rattling percussion fuse harmoniously with acid-tinged synth shoots and bouncy low frequencies.

Trippy melodies together with whirring oscillations and punchy subs take the focus in Andre Salmon & No Else's vibrant remix until Vincent Casanova masterfully rounds off the EP with deep riding textures as the minimal aesthetics layered deliciously with 303 oscillations and hypnotising, percussive sequence.

After more than 5 years in the techno scene as an organizer, label, and agency, RAW is launching their first vinyl compilation including 16 original tracks from a well-curated list of top producers. The release features several early label contributors as I Hate Models, Under Black Helmet or Hadone with respected and inspirational artists as Perc, Somniac One, Thomas P. Heckmann, or Clouds to name a few.

Entitled Gemstones, this V/A is divided into 4 colored vinyls representing precious stones, promoting a hard and harsh sound from industrial to emotional techno stompers.

As Frankie Bones eloquently noted, “the five year run of Plus 8's sub-label Probe sometimes would seem to be putting out better releases than its parent label”. One of those indelible releases was ‘The Arrival’, signed by Casey Tucker under his Variable Frequency Technician moniker. “Cross Section”, the anthem that closed the B-Side of the original 1995 release, is getting now a re-release on Certain Music with two remixes from Fit Siegel and Marc Piñol plus a proper retake from Tucker himself.

It’s hard to tell what’s the most interesting feature of this singular track. Above all is a sharp and defining concoction of what listening to underground techno in the 90s was: warm and blissful chords over a metallic rhythm section, intrincate hi-hats, syrupy synths and a rubber-like bassline —you name it, the track covered it. Tucker’s 2021 remix keeps the vibe pretty much where it originally was, but now building things wider, tremendously three-dimensional and diaphanous. More than a remix, it’s a way to appreciate Tucker’s genuine evolution as an artist over the last three decades.

On the flip side, Fit Siegel signs an acidic and jazzy rendition full of twists and turns: keeping the groove in check while showing an infinite array of layers and melodic ingredients. Marc Piñol does pretty much the opposite while keeping the acid intention, building a ponderous bass-driven track with vocal delays, repetitive percussions and periodic glimpses of Tucker’s exquisite synths.

Beautiful soundscapes and deep techno previously only released on cassette, 'Outlines (Repurposed) 2013-2019' is a compendium of Anthony Linell's sketches and supports from a seven-year period. Capturing an incongruous assignment together, these liminal works frame moments of transport between process and material that are otherwise private and archived.

Eluize returns to Craigie Knowes to release her second album in the form of the beautifully eclectic 8-track 'Gone' LP. Experimental sounds feature alongside club-ready Techno and Electro - moving effortlessly and coherently across genre and influence. 'Gone' captures the full-spectrum of Eluize's mastery of songwriting, composition and production in all of its shimmering intricacy. Her take on synthesis, drum programming, mixing and original vocals and lyrics take you by the hand and lead you into a rich garden of colour and sound in what is likely her most accomplished work to date. The 12" version is accompanied by an A5 insert with a message from the artist and information on how to get your hands the digital files, including the final 2 tracks that complete the album.

What Stefano has achieved will live on forever because the good he gave remains indelible in the soul of the people who have had the opportunity to know him. I simply asked these artists to think of Stefano and create music with their hearts. Listening to their soul, their heart, letting themselves be overwhelmed by the passion of music. These artists have chosen to bring to light the most intimate and profound side of a memory linked to Stefano.

The result is the DLYS vinyl, the first of a long series in which friends and artists will be able to engrave feelings and memories that Stefano left in each of them. Even those Artists who have not had the good fortune to know him and who are equally moved by his own overwhelming passion for music will be able to find space in this project.

'Burn Slow' is a 10-track album from Chris Liebing with
vocal contributions from a diverse range of artists: Miles
Cooper Seaton (Akron / Family), Mute labelmate Polly
Scattergood (onDeadWaves), Cold Cave, Aleen and, of
course, Gary Numan.
'Burn Slow' is a minimalist electronic epic and the start of
a new chapter for one of techno's leading authorities. It
might not be what you expect for a DJ synonymous with
fast, hard and heavy techno but, according to Chris
Liebing, he's always been something of a slow starter:
'I've wanted to do something like 'Burn Slow' all my life,'
he says.
While retaining the framework of the techno beats that
Chris Liebing has dedicated his life to for the past 25
years, here he also seeks out new harmonic territories,
taking aim at the heart rather than the feet, in order to
tackle some deep themes. The key concept of presence -
the idea that everything is happening in this moment and
that everything in the past is mere memory - form the
thematic backbone of the record. It's something Liebing
got in touch with via philosopher Alan Watts, not to
mention decades of getting entire dancefloors lost in the
present: 'If people would stay in the now, everything in
the world would just have a bit more harmony,' explains
Liebing.
Liebing has teamed up with Ralf Hildenbeutel (a key part
of the long since defunct Eye Q family) for 'Burn Slow' and
it was at his new musical 'enabler' Hildenbeutel's Frankfurt
studio that Liebing began drifting into new territor.

Session Victim's new label adventure Pen & Paper sets it's sails with the boys' first original track since their 2017 album Listen to your Heart. Puzzle builds an intense groove from an array of mechanical and organic percussion and chunky 12 bit chordstabs over a haunted pad and noise backdrop.
