Sphere Gear is the latest chapter in a musical journey that began in 1999 with Weekend World Recordings and more recently evolved into Shadow Story, the label and home of Bradford duo Martin Cartledge and Alexander Church, aka Dronelock, and Serbian duo Boriz Noize and Dekode, aka Ontal. Operating as an offshoot of Shadow Story, the Sphere Gear imprint will release just 10 limited-press vinyl releases in its existence.

Dronelock kick off Sphere Gear's debut outing with 'Theia', a 5-track EP that delves into the darkest reaches of the duo's abstract electronic world. The title track is a potent, claustrophobic opener, with chopper blades, caustic drones and eerie synth shimmers making for a turbulent and unsettling trip. 'Morphia' offers an antidote, washing over the senses with its all-consuming, ethereal ambience, before the menacing electro of 'The Oath' drags you right back out of the dream state.

'In Human Form' tests the senses further, a schizophrenic soundscape that balances dead silence and abrasive noise, leaving the EP to conclude with the dystopian techno march of 'Once Again', an unruly kick drum call-to-arms.

All five tracks will be available on the limited edition vinyl release, while 'Theia' and 'The Oath' will also be available as a digital download.

Dominick Fernow's Bed of Nails label returns with its first release in a while - a new 5-track EP from New York stalwart K.P aka Dual Action. These machine tools spoil for the 'floor, acting as a follow-up of sorts to the excellent, blink-and-miss 'Babe' cassette and Avian's vinyl reissue of 'Auto Body', providing some proper club weight across four precision-sharpened pounders and one incredible noise construct. Fixing glassy chimes to stern bassdrum with 'Back In', and banking noxious drones over the pneumatic mechanisms of 'When Mine', he rolls off-the-bone with the Pan Sonic-like 'Kill The Ignition', and mows back to the 'floor with the thrumming, diesel-fuelled momentum of 'Inroads', leaving the throttling distrortion of 'Easy Way To Get What You Want' for those who can't get enough. Like mostly everything on Bed of Nails, these tracks function as Warehouse tools while edging towards a more layered and destroyed vision of Techno - coming highly recommended to followers of of Preserved Instincts, Miles, Powell, Vatican Shadow or Prostitutes.

Long time colleagues David Sumner (aka Function) and Ed Davenport (aka Inland) have teamed up to relaunch Sumner's esteemed imprint, Infrastructure. The label has been lying dormant since 2006 when Sumner focused his energies on Sandwell District and relocated to Berlin in 2007. They kick things off with a collaboration under the guise Function/Inland with this new EP, Odeon/Rhyl.

The A side, based on Photek's beatless 'Under The Palms' and released with his blessing, 'Odeon' translates a soaring, epic synth solo into an 8 minute percussion-driven version. Modulating toms rise and fall as the strings climb to new heights, resulting in a sparse and haunting moment of oblivion.
On the B side the pair work with solely original elements in 'Rhyl'. Deeply influenced by the heady days of early Warp, Skam, Autechre and pure electronica, they add a contemporary, hi-tech twist and hints of Sandwell's emotive textures. It's a stark reminder of the power of only a few strong elements, arranged by experienced hands.
First recorded and edited while Sumner and Davenport were sharing the same address in 2011, the pair shelved the material, letting it ferment for two years before the right moment arose to review the tracks and do the final mixdowns for this beautiful EP.

The structure and the essence of this release, focuses on a current argument in which more and more people in this society are found to be the early protagonists, often without even realizing it.
The artist wants to tell and convey through his work, a point of view towards this theme.
As can be deduced from the title of the EP, the project is to express and represent a war of colors, which fight the monotony of everyday, always flat and dark.
The first track, "Daily March", wants to criticize this monotony through a full-bodied sound that recalls a real daily march, which many people are facing every day. All accompanied by a setting of hypnotic sounds that capturing the attention of the listener, carrying in a vicious circle in which one perceives the focus of the concept that the artist wants to communicate.
The second track, "Appearance Of Freedom" is the soundtrack for those who are trapped in slavery everyday life, believing to be free or at least trying to able to escape from the monotony, but then realizing that it is only an appearance. The sound of this second soundtrack fully embraces with the first, almost as if it were a single story that is going to evolve, arguing the rebellion that the artist wants to express in this state of being of the person in the present life.
To accompany the two original works of Kalos, there are two remixes by great artists, the first made by the Irish duo Lakker, which are able to communicate their idea of daily march through their strong version, being able to also expose them a very clear message.
The second remix is made by the Begian artist Yves De Mey, for the track "Apperance Of Freedom" where he captures in full the message of the track and re-edited, bringing attention to the full-bodied bass carefully distorted, creating a trip hypnotic evolving.

Time is running...and it seems like we just woke up out of our interstellar sleep-mode as we are facing the arrival of the 14th edition of the almighty COCOON RECORDINGS COMPILATION. Starting with the letter 'A' we reached 'N' meanwhile which probably marks one of the longest running techno-compilation-series ever around. The list of the featured artists is amazing and almost endless. Big names like Funk D'Void, Alter Ego, Michael Mayer, Steve Bug, DJ Rush, Adam Port, Christian Smith, Nina Kravitz, Henrik Schwarz or Argy can be found here. Not to forget some of the biggest players in the circus like Sven Väth, Anthony Rother, Extrawelt, Timo Mass, Radio Slave or Ricardo Villalobos, DJ Koze, Dubfire and even Berlin's Basic Channel mastermind Moritz Von Oswald! With the new 'Compilation N' we will add even more big names side by side to some fresh and promising ones. Let's start with Konstantin Sibold & Leif Müller who gave us 'Kolibri", a great slowed down techno-tune that brings us back to the high days of Alter Ego when Harthouse released big listening and electronica albums. Track number two by Julian Perez follows that feeling and explores the deep and dubby sides of techno, too. A perfect transition to Frankfurt homeboy Markus Fix. It's dub again however spiced up with hypnotic strings and a clubby kickdrum shaking our bass bins! With track number four, 'Compilation N' opens the door to proper and kicking club music.

Ñaka Ñaka's debut 12" on Opal's vinyl only off-shoot Black Opal see's the musicians sombre, minimalist synth scapes coalescing with his scattering techno patterns into a mature dancefloor workout. References to classic 90's techno-ambient can be heard throughout though refracted through Jeronimo's gaseous clockwork structures they take on a timelessness. Tracks like 'dioges' and 'def def' throw light and shade in equal measure with mood oscillating between hopeful and desolate. The b-side runs stranger, breaking at the seems with rusting drones on 'jAaz' and finding a final forceful kick with the evil pump of 'vibrocalyx' - A track made for the dankest floors. Harsh worlds are for the individual to witness and this makes a suitable soundtrack to the decay.

Following on from the phenomenal success of their Record Store Day 2014 release of FAR CRY 3: BLOOD DRAGON's Original Game Soundtrack, Invada Records are proud to partner with Ubisoft Music and dive once again into the world of video game soundtracks with the release of Brian Reitzell's musical score to the highly-anticipated open-world adventure game WATCH_DOGS. ith people around the world taking the day off work on the game's release, to play what is sure to be contender for 2014's most popular gaming title, this is a huge accomplishment for Invada to land this album and a chance to introduce their high production values and love of vinyl to a far wider audience. Full of infectious beats and atmospheric, retro-futuristic synths, the score is a further achievement from composer Reitzell, who has previously written music for the highly-rated U.S drama series HANNIBAL as well as working on multiple scores with acclaimed director Sofia Coppola, the latter of which has featured collaborations with French band AIR and Kevin Shields of famed alt-rock band MY BLOODY VALENTINE. WATCH_DOGS presents a dark and dangerous journey through an alternate version of Chicago, where ultra-hacker Aiden Pearce seeks to redeem himself after causing the death of his niece. Using the concepts of artificial intelligence and information warfare, the game brings technological relevance to a Grand Theft Auto-style open world in the tradition of the revered science fiction of William Gibson and Philip K. Dick. To represent the varied challenges of the game, Reitzell brings an eclectic feel to the score, with thumping beats and off-kilter melodies of the club scene juxtaposed with the more ethereal and atmospheric synth and guitar, evoking the music of Vangelis and Brian Eno - ideal for a post-noir cyberpunk game. There's also an introspective and emotional feel to the score as required by the game's story, which is reflected in the album's sequencing, providing a well-rounded narrative-driven musical experience. Welcome to the world of Drone, a London-based label founded by producer, artist and Death In Vegas guiding light Richard Fearless. An outlet for dancefloor distortion and other musical explorations. Created in the Metal Box, Drone will release oscillations in many forms.

For this, the debut outing Richard Fearless lays the mandate in the form of Higher Electronic States - proto-techno, peaktime acid. Analogue electronics, hammer-horror strings underpinned with drums to blow apart any floor. This is music made for very dark, smoke filled rooms with absurd lazers.

Crème Organization & M>O>S Recordings mainstay D'Marc Cantu picks up remix duties on the flip, toning things down in tempo but certainly not tension. This is deep, brooding, suspense filled slow-motion techno creating a wholly satisfying first taste of the meal that is Drone.

Few people stand for a real underground approach to techno like ADAM X does. For over 20 years he has been right in the center of the scene. Before moving to Berlin he ran the Sonic Groove record shop in NYC for 15 years. The Sonic Groove label also owned by Adam is still a dominating force in the scene and has released music of legends like Abe Duque, Blake Baxter, Frankie Bones, Kevin Saunderson and many more. With djing, producing music Adam in recent years has received a lot of support from people like Chris Liebing and many others for his productions as ADAM X as well as for his aliases TRAVERSABLE WORMHOLE, ADMX-71.
Adam's sound is dark and heavily influenced by his passion for industrial and old school EBM music. With COERCIVE PERSUASION on the A-side he combines these influences with a functionality that can only derive from his extensive touring as a dj and live act. It is a dark anthem that will destroy all real techno floors. No doubt. The B-side DEPROGRAMMING SEQUENCE comes along with driving bells that give the stomping beat of the track a little uplift and therewith balances out the heavy dark side of the EP.

System Fork was designed around the principle of Itamae, where ever detail was described and thought about before any work in the studio was done. This process took two years before a set of rules and principles were fully realised for the creative process in the studio.Working with Human & Shaun Bloodworth, Application also applied more design aesthetics to artwork, videos & photographs which will become the prototypes to a live show with video.Application are Martin & Richard Dust.

London label Diagonal continue their swerve into caustic dancefloor territory with the debut pair of 12' releases from Bronze Teeth. Their extended technoid grooves perfectly match the project's name — they're tough, hard-edged and intricately sculpted for tensile strength and visceral impact.Traces of the sounds that feed into Bronze Teeth can be heard in the duo's individual projects. Dominic Butler is one-third of Factory Floor, the London-based trio renowned for their wiry, dynamic live shows; his modular electronics are an integral component in that band's devastating cocktails of Morse code electronic blips, drum and guitar. Richard Smith meanwhile, records as L/F/D/M, and debuted with a scintillating clutch of acid tracks on Optimo Music in 2013. Bronze Teeth offers them free rein to explore their own interests in sound, and in particular the potential for chaotic interaction between metallic programmed rhythms and the fleshy pulses of the human body. A Waif's Rent opens hard with 'Albion Pressure' ushered in by a cloud of distortion and teeming particulate matter. It gathers momentum and fury as it plays, scuttling forward like a column of ants. On the flipside 'Cut Bronze and 'Tephra' hew stark funk from woody drums, tellingly akin in mood and effect to recent Diagonal releases from Powell and Russell Haswell.

The first release on Ansome and Catch's very own imprint South London Analogue Material are two cuts of unashamedly raw and powerful UK techno.
The A side is a strong stepping groove; the powerful sub-bass and textures enveloping the whole track make it a true peak time weapon.
The B side taken on by Ansome initially may start spacious but sees itself dominated by a pounding analogue kick drum and a screeching rhythmic lead, sure to leave any warehouse in a frenzy...

This is the new full-length album from techno veteran Christian Wunsch, a collection of nine tracks, slowly crafted that shows his own personal vision about techno. This is his first full-length album after a whole bunch of twelve inches spread out among the best techno labels around and his very own Tsunami imprint. More than twenty years in the business establish him as one of the stepping-stones in the pure techno scene.

'Internal Conversion' shows his approach to modern electronic music creation. Pristine sound design, clever drum, synth programming and evolving structures make this album a showcase of his capacities as a studio wizard.

'Internal Conversion' is the first cut: dense atmospheres, slow rhythms, drones, metallic hits ..the sound of a spacecraft about to start engines.

'Fluorescence' goes straight to the beat: compact grooves, alien FM sequences, resonant details, heavy stereo workouts.. a complete Martian techno.

A resident at the now infamous Janus party in Berlin, M.E.S.H. follows up releases with kindred labels Dyssembler and Black Ocean with his debut PAN EP, 'Scythians'. After a pair of tapes acclaimed by The Quietus and Xlr8r, ORPHAN SWORDS makes a new move via Idiosyncratics. The industrial-slanted techno duo welcomes four guest projects for a vinyl of remixes: not less than Dwellings (alias GNOD's electronic Brain Chris Haslam), Paul Purgas (half part of Raster-Noton notorious duo Emptyset), shxcxchcxsh (swedish techno project signed on Shifted' label Records Avian) and Exoteric Continent (Opal Tapes fellow aka Arnau Sala). They revamp Orphan Swords' track RÄUM from debut EP Dantalion/Räum in a brand new version. The record has been mastered by Stephen Bishop (Opal Tapes). ORPHAN SWORDS is a collaboration between sound experimentalist and Idiosyncratics label founder Yannick Franck & producer and Bozar Electronic Arts Festival (BEAF) curator Maze.

Hospital Productions' present an exhilarating label debut by flamboyant Italian battery, Nicolò Fortuni and Nico Vascellari, aka Ninos Du Brasil. 'Novos Mistérios' follows their debut LP for La Tempesta International/Tannen Records with an acutely stripped down blend of mostly 'live' recorded percussion and explorative electronic sound design.

German industrial radicals MDS51 grace us with a new release for Strange Therapy. The 10-track cassette Sickness and Ruins consists 3 new cuts, 3 tracks previously released only on CD, and some live-tracks recorded on Wroclaw Industrial Festival in November 2018.

DNA is a death-factory made music, an industrial inferno with distorted rhythms and sharp lines, conjuring a thundering crescendo of obsessive nature. The majestic atmosphere is enriched by well-placed samples and screams, recalling a tension akin to a real horrific experience. Tunnel is a static attack with subtle distorted motifs with a hidden melody, endorsed by a mechanical rhythm upon which female shouted vocals are layered. The track grows into a hypnotizing movement with seductive passages, while keeping its menacing soul. Torn showcases grinding lines and orchestral dark ambiances, reaching a film-score structured with sudden stark percussions and mesmerizing motifs. A dystopian sci-fi atmosphere dominates the number, while sparse vocal samples enrich the track with an almost narrative quality. Death-industrial moments surprise us with distorted vocals and steady paths. LCF is a noisescape made of hellish distortions and a stomping drum, interrupted by alarming screams. An old-school industrial atmosphere permeates the episode, conjuring a new steel-like obsession, and during the second half hateful vocals complete the climax. Fear Reactor is a destructive affair made of abrasive distortions and the usual well-placed samples, soon reached by strong rhythmic patterns and declaiming shouted vocal deliveries. Grinding moments with a crawling movement characterized by a broken structure. Pendu employs minimal elements and suspended atmospheres upon which a crooning voice layers its dark secrets. A sharp affair with an eerie sense of danger, a well-crafted industrial-pastiche ends the A side.

Propagation is the first of the 4 live tracks and welcomes us to the B-side. This track is a raw rendition with an almost punk feeling, a compulsive motion with steady cymbals and imperative vocal samples. The industrial march knows no pause, delivering some furious crescendos. Monochrom showcases minimal droning structures and rhythmic mantras with a serpentine nature. Then, shouted vocals enrich the track with a soulful performance. WHM is a percussive affair with sudden burst of noise and stomping beats, a menacing soundscape which grows with the continuous adding of elements. During the second half it sees riffing sounds and a starker drumming. Enfer ends the cassette with cinematic undertones with ritualistic rhythms and seductive female vocals in French. A dark crescendo shows itself among the crawling movement, keeping a restrained tension never really climaxing.

Since the 2015 release of Drab Majesty’s debut “Careless”, and the release of the acclaimed sophomore album “The Demonstration” the following year, artist Deb Demure and collaborator Mona D. have firmly established themselves amongst the pantheon of dark synth-pop greats, establishing a devoted fan base worldwide with their singular hypnotic sound and mysterious, constantly-evolving presence.

Following intense and extensive touring in support of the first two albums, Drab Majesty escaped to the inspirational landscapes of Athens, Greece to channel the songs for their most ambitious album creation yet: Modern Mirror.

Blowing the dust off the antiquarian myth of Ovid’s “Narcissus”, Drab Majesty uses its premise as groundwork for a modern reinterpretation. Each song tells a piece of the story, in which the listener’s own selfidentity has become warped and dissociated through rapidly expanding technology, losing touch with the origins of their own personalities. Setting the stage as a romantic saga of antiquity, “A Dialogue” asks the listener if they are truly in love amid a building wash of guitars and reverb. Elements of classic tragedy weigh heavily in the reflection of Modern Mirror in songs like “The Other Side”, possessing a fundamental sound that is energetic, luminous and hopeful. Fusing the sonic aesthetics of predecessors like New Order and The Cure within the cautious instruction of Greek mythology and modern science fiction, Drab Majesty has birthed a hybrid of dreamy malaise, captured for a future moment.

Since the 2015 release of Drab Majesty’s debut “Careless”, and the release of the acclaimed sophomore album “The Demonstration” the following year, artist Deb Demure and collaborator Mona D. have firmly established themselves amongst the pantheon of dark synth-pop greats, establishing a devoted fan base worldwide with their singular hypnotic sound and mysterious, constantly-evolving presence.

Following intense and extensive touring in support of the first two albums, Drab Majesty escaped to the inspirational landscapes of Athens, Greece to channel the songs for their most ambitious album creation yet: Modern Mirror.

Blowing the dust off the antiquarian myth of Ovid’s “Narcissus”, Drab Majesty uses its premise as groundwork for a modern reinterpretation. Each song tells a piece of the story, in which the listener’s own selfidentity has become warped and dissociated through rapidly expanding technology, losing touch with the origins of their own personalities. Setting the stage as a romantic saga of antiquity, “A Dialogue” asks the listener if they are truly in love amid a building wash of guitars and reverb. Elements of classic tragedy weigh heavily in the reflection of Modern Mirror in songs like “The Other Side”, possessing a fundamental sound that is energetic, luminous and hopeful. Fusing the sonic aesthetics of predecessors like New Order and The Cure within the cautious instruction of Greek mythology and modern science fiction, Drab Majesty has birthed a hybrid of dreamy malaise, captured for a future moment.

For his first solo LP he has used his home town of Los Angeles as his muse, lush electronic soundscapes buzz under neon soaked streets, providing a warm, hazy record that shimmers with positivity. Less than two years after their last album, legendary Mexican Electro duo Hocico is once again filling the air with their unabashedly sound and strikes hard with their full range of aggression on the band's brand new album "Hyperviolent".

Istanbul synthpop vanguards Jakuzi turned heads in 2017 with the release of their unique and exciting debut album 'Fantezi Müzik’ which showcased modern Turkish underground music to the world. Two years later their new album, “Hata Payı” (meaning literally ‘’a part of the mistake”), brings a more refined and darker sound to their arsenal, exploring the depths of relationships and the human condition.

When Jakuzi released their debut Fantezi Müzik as a cassette in 2016, no one expected that this would leave its circle in Istanbul. But the record was rereleased with new tracks in early 2017 via City Slang and immediately became a favorite amongst critics and music fans alike. The band embraced a manifold of musical elements, layering pop fragments with slabs of Low-Fi, New Wave and Post Punk. They effortlessly created one of the most unique sounding albums of the year and gained attraction internationally.

The album is less heterogeneous than the debut but yet, the unique sounds stay intact. The first single “Süphe” (translates to “Doubt") is the saddest track you can cry dance to since A Flock Of Seagulls “Wishing“. Then there’s “Yangın” (“Fire") which writes synthpop history with its mad genius half-time / crescendo, or “Gördüğüm Rüya“ ("The Dream I See") that starts with a very familiar guitar riff just to morph into an epic dreamwave anthem. “Toz” (“Dust") recalls the lively experiments of a young Martin Gore, and it doesn’t’ stop there. Hata Payı is full of ideas and energy, the songs take well nuanced twists and turns and prove that even in the darkest hours, Jakuzi never shy away from glorious pop moments.

Another five years were necessary for Kajkyt to destroy the old and develop a completely new musical concept. "III" explores territories of complete alienation, abstraction, degradation. A four-part process of pulses that increase to complete reduction and secession.

Futuro, songs composed between 2019-2020 a critical look towards an end that sends us every day to deal with our own fears and insecurities. It is not dance music, it’s music from the bowels.

Pasado, songs composed in a previous period, from a live in his studio in 2014 with the song “Paisajes Cerebrales”, to some songs that go from 2015-18, being closer to the dance floor and its rhythmic patterns, becoming a dark and decadent techno.
