RAWAX MOTOR CITY EDITION is the new series for music which is influneced by the sound of
Detroit and of course also for artsist from the city. Orlando Voorn aka The Nighttripper
released ''Phuture'' in 1991. We are happy to present you on the first edition the
remixes by Kevin Saunderson & Robert Hood!

presents the RAWAX side. Very special combination!

5 tracks of pure heat of various styles from members of The Black Lodge global family. A1 is entitled "Atmospheres" from the ever-talented Michigan producer JTC aka Tadd Mullinix Bopside/Nation/Ghostly. A2, entitled "Arreskni" comes from newer Chilean artists MU-GA, a track we released in digital format last year from their debut EP. Finishing off the A-side is Italian super-duo SONS OF TRADERS SOT/Frigio/Black Lodge aka Tans X Mike Tansella Jr. with the acidic cut "Indianapolis" also released last year by BL on tape and digitally from their first full length album entitled "Crollo Nervoso". Side B blasts off with the early Chicago house inspired track "Passion" by prolific Dresden producer SNEAKER Uncanny Valley/Rat Life/Frigio. Closing off the comp is a dirty warehouse banger/burner by e-spirit, a new alias from LA producer DELIVERY LA Club Resource/Valcrond Video.

Jerome Hill lives and breathes music with his productions, sets and record labels being educational and hedonistic in equal measures. Hot on the heels of the compilation album, Super Rhythm Trax drop this absolute beauty of a release from Dead Silence Syndicate member and Electro supremo, Dexorcist aka Simon Brown.

Simon flexes his muscles, giving us 4 deadly tracks set to blow up the dancefloor.

A true font of music knowledge and able to play fluid sets of many genres from Funk through to Techno, on this EP he displays clear influences from Detroit, Chicago, London and of course..Miami !

Eagle eyes will remember that Super Rhythm Trax 005, the Miami Bass special, was produced by SImon alongside long time collaborator, Bass Junkie and its a pleasure to finally welcome him back to the label.

Tekvision Volume 1 was a stone cold classic, with Rolling Stone charting it at #3 in their top 20 EDM records of 2017. Two years on, Cornelius ‘Traxman’ Ferguson returns with the second instalment, featuring 7 exceptional new Footwork productions. Traxman is a bonafide OG, with a discography dating back to the halcyon era of Ghetto House in the late 80’s and early 90’s. 30 years on, Traxman is a revered figure in Chicago’s urban music scene, having presided over the evolution from Ghetto House to Juke and from Juke to Footwork culture. Originally released in 1989, Work Dat Mutha Fucker by Steven Poindexter is considered to be one of the most influential tracks from the early days of Ghetto House. Traxman remixes it brilliantly on this release, reworking the stripped back, minimalist drum beat of the original into an upfront Footwork pattern. This sense of continuity is equally evident on Let Me See You Naked feat. DJ Juicy, and Traxman’s remix of To Da Hoooz by DJ Deeon. These productions successfully capture the sexual energy and exuberance of Ghetto House, turbo charged at 160 BPM. Elsewhere on the record, Traxman explores different moods whilst always keeping the dance floor firmly in mind. The opening track It’s Lasting Bass lays an infectious vocal harmony over complex drum patterns and a fearsome bassline. Osaka opens with mellow, sultry keys before introducing a wobbling synth and diced up Orchestal samples. 4 Da Lyfe is a soulful and slightly more meditative track, with a vocal loop expressing solidarity and self-affirmation. Wildcard feat. Jana Rush, stands alone as the only track without a vocal element, instead utilising a piercing and insistent synth to create a powerful sonic intensity. Overall this is triumphant record, and a worthy successor to the original Tekvision release, proving once again that Traxman is an unrivalled exponent of MPC-driven footwork energy.

Jodey Kendrick joins the Clone Dub recordings roster!

Since completing his two-decade-long hip-hop trilogy as Dabrye in 2018, Ann Arbor-based artist and Bopside label head Tadd Mullinix has engaged his arsenal of aliases with renewed heat. First came the debut of X-Altera, a new project flexing a wildstyle hybrid of drum & bass and deep techno. Now, he returns to James T. Cotton, a moniker which dates back as far as Dabrye and helped define Spectral Sound, the dance imprint of Ghostly International. While historically tagged as Mullinix’s acid house alias, JTC has always expressed with a more pliable sense of genre, freely fusing an eclectic blend of classic electronic sounds; helpings of Chicago acid, Belgian New Beat, and the leftfield techno stylings popularized both in Berlin and Detroit. With Indigo, Flesh and Fire, Mullinix moves closer to the latter city, adopting a bright, optimistic tone informed by minimalism and futurism.

"I have been more withdrawn and introspective on a personal level, in a positive sense, and I think that fact has made my creativity reach toward feelings about peace, positivity, fantasy, wonder, and openness,” says Mullinix.

The EP is packed, but still playfully ambiguous; a club-ready set built to max out mixing boards with spacious and nuanced melodies and motorized percussion. Five tracks, each with roughly five-minute run-times, offering all but a few breaths in a quest for highly operative dancefloor hypnosis. The record wastes little time locking in; on the first track, “Innerloire Rendezvous,” a dense square kick plows through a brisk four-on-the-floor routine phasing over harmonious synth stacks of rubbery fifths and sevenths. The title track splatters a lenticular static spray between thumping kick, billowy melodic swells, and staticky clicks, snaps, and claps.

Mullinix’s distilled musical vocabulary, developed by his many years in the game, gives the set a misty-eyed quality without compromising its contemporary merit. This is music, inspired by history but fiercely forward-thinking, that feels both subterranean and airborne; in the grind on the ground and soaring above in an iridescent super-charged fog.

Neil Landstrumm and Tobias Schmidt are two men responsible for modern day electronic music. When the sound crawled out of the primordial speaker, this pair were there to welcome it. For more than twenty years the two have worked together as Sugar Experiment Station and arrive on Shipwrec for their first collaboration in eight years. This is a 12" born in burning furnaces of bass. Moulded in those low frequency fires, smelted in the thumping heat, are beats, beats hardened like steel before being shaped into lancing points. With these tools of rhythmic brimstone SES goes about destroying dancefloors before reinventing them. Chords are rolled in gravel, doused in distortion and rinsed in static. A style forged from the friction of pistons, the sweat of the assembly line, before being dipped in a searing liquor of circuitboards and molten microchips. Based in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Calder City Development Corp. was developed to build and reshape the landscape, structure and concepts of urban electronic music by using a philosophy of deep experimentation and raw vision.

The first release Stratospheric Architektur' comes from West Michigan native Translate', who's debut release Station Identification' was on the legendary label FEROX. This three track EP features two 10 minute bangers for the club, very much techno but with house sensibilities that should satisfy deep house to techno heads.

Face 1///Break beats begin this release but then is quickly changed into a four on the floor. The rumbling kick establishes the pulse as a hihat comes in to join the rhythm. The baseline come in slowly, syncopated as it likes, steadily as more percussion establishes the groove. Long chord pads come in to say hello as they steadily modulate underneath the feeling emanates soft and hard simultaneous. The tune gives of opposing feelings but always of goodness.


Face 2///A kick drum drops that introduces a vocal sample that slowly fades in from the ether. Flowing pads join slowly giving a sense of ubiquity. Percussion then arrives creating the full amount of the groove. In the middle of the tune, the full vocal sample comes in as the track is fully cooking now and continues to rock until its conclusion.


Face 3/// An ambient piece that features some pitched white noise and droning pads. Sometimes spooky and harsh but with a soft tone due to the pads that pulls a listener's emotion in different directions.

Victor Kiktenko aka Module One's EP for Anna Wall's imprint The Bricks is inspired by the disciplines of Detroit. A sound shaped by luminaries like Mike Huckaby, Rick Wade and Kyle Hall, Victor has spent the last nine years refining his own unique approach to this style of house music.

Residing in the industrial city of Novocherkassk in the South of Russia, it wasn't until the summer of 2018 that he relocated to Berlin - and it was a liberating decision. 'With the growing power of the Police structures, the parties and festivals were often shut down the last minute which gave absolutely no way to plan our careers and I remember having up to 4 jobs at the same time to survive. Russia is a pretty poor country...the majority of people working extra hard and having several jobs. Berlin wasn't only an inspiration, but also a very logical and pragmatic move.' 'The One I Believe' was made during his time at home as he awaited the German visa process.

The four track EP displays the various forms of Module One's production; from the dub-techno sounds of 'Morning Dub' to playful electro kicks on 'Liquid Forms'. Chicago's Tyree Cooper has given 'The One I Believe' a classic rework adding his trademark drum machines and a subtle 303 acid line that compliments the original.

The mighty Truncate crash lands on Catz n’ Dogz’ Pets imprint with two outstanding slabs of forthright
techno tension. His first full single for the label, Truncate was last spotted aboard remixing KiNK way
back in 2015. Now he’s making up for lost time, thumping away relentlessly like two old mates who
haven’t caught up with each other in years.
‘Pressure’ takes the lead. Bouncy, stripped-back, pounding and riddled with Ovum-level acidic funk,
once you’re locked into Truncate’s loopy hypnosis, you may never escape. ‘Level Up’ does exactly
what its title suggests, too. Total rolling thunder with builds upon builds, there’s a sense of momentum
that elevates at every twist.
And if that’s not enough, Unknown 2 The Unknown bossman and fusionist king DJ Haus gets involved
with some prime remix real estate. Buckle up friends, the pressure is only just beginning to rise…

After appearing on the well received Chicago Bee Various artists EP Nill Minogue AKA Postelektrik delivers his debut EP on the same label.

This well crafted EP has a mature sound that crosses the boundaries from traditional acid and leans towards deep house and electronica.

Side A delivers what has been to be expected from Chicago Bee. But its the the flip side where Nill Minogue comes into his own. This side blends a shift towards a home listening vibe as well as being suited to a more discerning dance floor. The tracks The Green Strobe and Not Them are slow drifting builders and full of lush pads that float along endlessly. This combined with moody baselines and trademark Roland drums you surely have a well rounded winner.
