Since making their debut on the imprint in 2013 with 'Blue Aconite', the Italian duo Hiver has since released two more EPs on Curle; 'Same Mistake Twice' in 2015 and 'Soundescence' last year. Since the release of the latter mentioned EP, Hiver have been busy behind the booth, performing in the UK, China, Germany, Holland and, of course, in Italy, where they still hold a residency at DUDE Club. Kicking off the EP is 'Elipse', a stunning four-minute track that nods to avant-garde artists such as Wolfgang Voigt's GAS alias or Brian Eno, as the pair gradually weaves several layers of shining, atmospheric tones before slowly fading into the background. Title-named track 'Air Castles' follows, with the tight selection of drums combined with the ebb and flow of soaring synths creating a melodic style of techno that has become synonymous with their name. Next is 'Aleutine', a song that similarly blends Hiver's characteristically ethereal, hazy synths alongside more vibrant analogue bleeps to great effect. These delicate synths are later given the chance to gleam as the track comes to a close.Closing this excellent four-track EP is deep-groover 'Leisure', seeing Hiver up the tempo through their clever use of percussive elements, sharp synths and headstrong drums.

Abstract Music hits release number four with a firing new EP from Budai. His one original gets remixed by
Obrotka and Basti Grub and it makes for another great package. Budai is a Hungarian producer who has been kicking out
the jams since 1997. He has released on labels like Universal and Foundation and many more.
His cut here Katmandu is a playful party starting house tune with wonky synths and big vocal line that is classic and fun.

Up first to remix is Basti Grub, and he layers in more wild synths, percolating percussive sounds and big chords
and the whole thing carries you away on a nicely colourful groove.
Another Hungarian in the form of Obrotka then adds another remix, and takes one main time bomb.
Deep and dynamic with lots of moody grooves all sucking you in.

This is another fresh EP that is sure to make a mark on the floor.

For release number 16 on De:tuned Stefan Robbers aka Terrace steps up to the plate. The veteran and well-respected Dutch producer from the city of Eindhoven unleashes four brand new techno tracks with a strong Detroit DNA for the discerning dancefloors. It's everything you'd expect from a Terrace release: a crisp and warm analogue sound with plenty of melody and groove, dubby undertones and fat chords. The icing on the cake is the optical themed artwork created by designer Openmind (aka Strictly Kev, DJ Food, Ninja Tune). As per usual Matt Colton from Alchemy Mastering reworked the source material to guarantee a flawless listening experience. This release will be available on 180 gr vinyl. A digital release will also be available from all the usual outlets. Stay tuned!

Klasse Recordings and Grafiti Tapes impresario, Luca Lozano, rolls up to Hypercolour with a 12 par excellence of genre blending, future dance grooves. Leaning on his Sheffield upbringing, it's of no surprise that the break beats, edits and bleeps of his native city seeps into his own forward thinking productions. Having racked up some super releases for Sex Tags UFO, Optimo Trax, Crème Organization, alongside his own imprints, Lozano really impresses on his Hypercolour debut. 'Gun Fingers' is a strictly heads down affair, luscious synths, tantalising breaks and heavyweight b-line sandwich in-between pounding kicks for a classy cut, whilst 'Calling All Dancers' is indeed a call to rave, laced with the familiar components of a golden era of UK dance, that never slips into pastiche, instead sounding fresh, vital and relevant to the times. Kindred spirit, DJ Sotofett, weighs in with two versions of 'Gun Fingers' exclusively for the vinyl edition of this release. Those who know Sotofett's killer style will know the score here, and he certainly does not disappoint. And those who spent time chasing around motorways and A roads in search of the party will most definitely know what's up on this set of remixes!

The 19th edition of the Cryovac series is a moody stab at the heart of techno. Dutch Mike executes a smooth assault lead by a 303 harmony, backed by a heavy baseline and flanked by tricky programming that shifts cymbal formations. Vontell C. and his son Vontell F. sneak a dark vibe into the mix with a manic and excitable minimal ballad detuning and nodding out while detailing the burning of pretty things. Andy Garcia applies a minimalized Motown sound via strumming guitar, vintage vocals, and easy beat that rises and falls creating a serene phonic envirorment. Every track on the Broke Lighter is an opportunity to go in a new direction.

Orlando Voorn is back on Tarvisium Electronique with 'Secret Society,' a mysterious, obscure and psychedelic EP exuding the essence of Detroit techno. Side A of the vinyl features the title track in which Voorn melts the analogic rhythm with a spectral melodic pattern. Side B features two tracks; 'Playing for keeps,' a techno bolt of lightning bound straight for the dancefloor and 'Rush,' a track characterized by a mechanical, analogic and highly experimental sound.

To conclude the EP the label manager, Steve Lorenz, has composed a remix of 'Secret society' with an avant-garde fusion of minimal, acid and Detroit techno.

Pulse Drift's third installment brings you the vinyl debut of a very talented young artist from Canada. And he delivers something quite special on this 4-Track EP. Deeply rooted in Detroit Electro, his musical sprouts gravitate towards a more experimental, forward-thinking sound universe. After Me Planet E are proud to present 'Momentum', a two-track collaboration between Carl Craig and Argentinian live electronic collective Klauss due April 13th. The EP is a result of an unplanned production session at the band's Buenos Aires studio in February of last year. Each running at over ten minutes long and brimming with tension, both tracks use analogue grooves to form a grounding for meditative loops and mind-bending sonic processes to wander.

JJuan Atkins and Moritz von Oswald - the two indispensable protagonists of the Electric Garden - plug back into the wilderness. Transport - the new full length effort of the Borderland collaborative project - brings together a new set of studio-refined sequences aimed at colonizing some of the dark energy that pulsates through those areas that are thoroughly electrified, even if not 'on the grid'. 'Riod' is the first streak to bolt through.

The Detroit-Berlin axis triangulates to a third point which, like the atomic particle that lives in two places at once, flickers between a form of techno-charged ambience and a futuristic club-jazz which cannot be broken down into constitutive parts. Borderland remains caught in a state of enraptured stillness, invisibly moving between every
imagined future for electronic sound making. The result: a font from which springs serene and exhilarating musical ideas that vibrate with refined energy for sixty seconds in every minute.

15th release of the strong Barba records! And its FBK who's back featuring a remix by none other than Claude Young - a Detroit heavy-weight who's been particularly selective with his output. Kevin's previous record for Barba, a 2016 twelve titled "Screaming Her Name", also featured a remixes by Terrence Dixon and Plural. Between then and now Kevin managed to put out a track for "The Cast Project" VA and a solo EP for Radio Slave's "Rekids" imprint. As we mentioned earlier, "Eclipse" features two original tracks, the title one and "To A Place I Know". "Eclipse" track is closer to the sound we've come to associate to FBK's productions - equally banging and meditative. This track takes you for a spin with hypnotizing lead synth, distorted acid lines and drums that intensify the vibe as the track progresses. It's dark and moody, but perfect for those moments when the dancefloor is ready to dive really deep. "To A Place I Know" starts on the similar note but as soon as the sampled vocal loop takes the lead it takes the song to a much happier place. Hypnotizing element is still unavoidably present but here the synth line is more subdued and plays a supporting role to the vocals. Something you would play when you need to dive out from the deep and feel some sun on your skin. Finally, Claude Young's remix of "Eclipse" is a fairly different affair, focusing on the meditative aspect of the original quite literally, and taking it to a whole other level. It is an exercise in restraint and patience, with a slowly-rising tension masterfully achieved by a piano line, ambient pads and synth textures subtly exchanging roles throughout the whole length of the song. Simply wonderful. All that, pressed onto a heavy duty 180 gram vinyl and beautifully packaged in an original artwork traditionally featuring local artists

After establishing their Indigo Aera label over the last seven years, Amsterdam figures Jasper Wolff & Maarten Mittendorff now step up onto Delsin with a four track debut EP which includes a remix from the legendary Sterac. Jasper Wolff & Maarten Mittendorff are long time players on the Amsterdam scene as residents at De School, esteemed label bosses who have put out music by the likes of Kirk Degiorgio, Stephen Brown and Louis Haiman, and as producers with a richly atmospheric dub techno sound. Steve Rachmad aka Sterac joined the studio for the mix down of all tracks, and also provided a dub version of Tesseract. It completes a package of deep and artful techno that is laced with beautiful ambience.

The 'Sterac Dub' is now featured on the cover cd of TSUGI magazine, mixed by The Black Madonna!

Floorplan is already well known as Robert Hood's house outlet, which this year evolves into a family affair with co-production alongside his daughter, Lyric. 'Victorious' is the second Floorplan album and follow-up to 2013's 'Paradise' which spawned 'Let's Ride, 'Baby Baby' and the massive 'Never Grow Old'. The new album itself is preceded by the double-headed single 'Music' / 'Tell You No Lie'.

As Robert once again extends his minimal techno sound via his 'Paradigm Shift' project on Dekmantel, he also returns his focus to house, disco, funk and gospel to the Floorplan show, which now takes a surprising twist. Having watched her father DJ the world over from the shadows and numerous appearances in the Floorplan DJ set Lyric Hood comes centre-stage alongside her father.

"Hear my soul speak, is the only way I can describe the way I feel about Floorplan, (Victorious) music is in my soul, my blood, I eat and sleep beats, music, rhythms, it's in my DNA. So Please, HEAR MY SOUL SPEAK." Lyric Hood

The Floorplan project first came to light in 1996 when Hood used it to announce his Drama imprint with the highly sought after 'Funky Souls' EP (subsequently re-issued by Rush Hour in 2010). Lying dormant for over a decade, the late 2000's saw a revitalized Hood re-establish Floorplan into what may well now be his most widely known musical outlet. This year, with his daughter making Floorplan a family affair, the duo's 'Victorious' album is primed to set the world's dancefloors alight.

Launching with the heady house swirl of 'Spin', Robert and Lyric then drop the deeper stylings of lead single 'Music' which builds into a hypnotic, bass-driven anthem. Picking up on Hood's trademark razor-sharp percussion 'The Heavens & The Earth' brings the Bible to the floor (with added funk) and 'Good Thang' shows the strong influence of Chicago as a simple refrain turns into a house missile from the pulpit!

'He Can Save You' continues the Chicago/Gospel theme but with a more driving techno edge whilst 'Mmm Hmm Hmm' marries powerful chords to trumpets, dynamic bass, booty refrains and skilful sampling creating yet another hands up anthem. 'Ha Ya' has that stripped back minimal feel we all know and love and perhaps the closest we get to touch on the classic Hood sound whilst 'Tell You No Lie' is pure, un-adulterated disco-string drenched fun(k) and already tearing down dancefloors as we speak.

'Push On' takes us back to the tight, knife-edged percussion of Chicago's house vanguard, reminding of the tougher sounds of DJ International and DJ Deeon, DJ Funk and Boo Williams. 'They Can Tell' kicks in with a no-nonsense, foot stomping kick drum as Floorplan chop up the vocal refrain into what becomes the main hook of the track and finally 'Sun In the Sky' brings the disco back with yet another string-laden anthem to bring the Floorplan show to a fittingly, uplifting end.

The lost in the night, endlessly wandering/searching groove of 'Quartermass' is like being submerged in an adrift submarine gone AWOL under the Pacific Ocean, receiving sonar transmissions of deconstructed elements of Manuel Göttsching's 'E2-E4'. As the hallucinatory 'Xaviera' melts the walls, percussion drips like liquid and distant, spectral, angelic voices flicker in and out of focus like holograms.Once immersed, the magic of these immaculately conceived, deceptively minimal tracks reveals byzantine detail that's best consumed/deployed during the small hours for maximum impact on minds and bodies".

Cryovac welcomes Release Records to the fold with a two way split vinyl of techno that turns heads while on the turntable. Keith Kemp adjusts the acid line throughout a rugged march building tension with groove and breaking gracefully. Garcia returns to the wild with a ruff baseline dancing around the communal clap of electronic natives grunting and glitching under a tribal horn. Roman springs a spiritual ensnarement of 303 that runs aside a wayward bop and circles a gentle kick with a shifty tick.

Dutch Mike strangles his construct into a crisp 4/4 banger that charges through the peaks and valleys of rhythm, while shuffling and twisting arrangements.

In their fifth release, DC label Partial Magic welcomes four friends and producers from the Knoxville, Tennessee based collective TEKNOX. Alex Falk opens the record with an upbeat slammer, looping cocky vocal samples over brash, noisy textures sure to please those familiar with his sound. Second on the A side, Saint Thomas LeDoux follows with an introspective track perfect for building or releasing dancefloor tension. On the B side, Nikki Nair brings back the raunch with a cheeky breaks-and-bleeps acid track. Dialectic Sines closes out the record with an ethereal cut backed by a hypnotic, tropical electro-techno groove.

JTS005 bursts in delivering two timeless productions by Santiago Salazar, both cleverly reinvented by DAHRAXT, a new Mannella's project. The whole EP is the result of inventiveness musically merging and melodies into a wonderful tapestry of sound.

The original version of NBS2-19 is a dreamy driving loop beat, built on a fat kick drum, that becomes raw and biting due to that squeezed synth on DAHRAXT's version.
On the B side, both versions of NBS2-15 have a strong hypnotic drift, although the original mix is a dancefloor killer theme.

Santiago Salazar, in addition to being a member of the legendary Los Hermanos, he released an infinite amount of excellent music on UR, Planet E Communications, on his own ICAN Productions and Historia y Violencia, a co-project with Silent Servant.
Here both artists showed us how to break into the future, with solid roots in the past.

Los Angeles based Natan H and Malta based artist Owen Jay return as Gauss with their first EP of 2017. Entitled Resonator it offers more deep music with an electronic soul and is their fifth EP for their cultured label Gauss Ltd. The title track opens things up with a crunchy and impactful mix of weighty dub drums and spangled techno chords. It's a heavy track that builds in momentum and is sure to mangle minds with its skewed stabs and wiry electronics. Shifted is a more fierce techno track with urgency in the kicks and a sense of anger in the coarse little snare explosions. More gurgling synths add weight and this one is a real stomper as a result. Cutting ever more loose, Odyssey is a mix of IDM sound design, soulful synth smears and percolating electro tinged drums that are slick and futuristic. Least Squares completes this techno picture with spitting hits and claps, underwater chords and acidic sonar pulses that soothe the mind. This is an expansive EP that marks an exciting evolution in Gauss's sound.

Pupil Dilations - new EP by Russian producer Kausto (real name Kuzma Palkin) for Roots United records.
5 tracks was produced in 2004 - 2007 in Kausto's hometown Severodvinsk on a vintage PC using Jeskola Buzz Tracker and old VST plugins.
Main source of inspiration - music of that time: Baby Ford, Humanoid, 808 State's Newbuild, as well as Analord series by AFX.
Original EP consisted of 6 pieces with the sixth track coming out as a bonus on digital release.

Jeremiah R returns from an interstellar trip to the Vega constellation. 8 tracks of quality electro from Rotterdam!

With its tenth DMT release, Philippe Petit drops Energovill, a big room techno bomb driven by a repetitive synth pad and a dreamy distorted saxophone line that will leave nobody indifferent. Philippe then strips down the track even more to deliver a dub oriented, beat-heavy version of the track. On the other side, UBX127, from the Figure stable, is on remix duties: he takes the key elements from Philippe's versions and turns the title track into an unforgiving minimal techno attack. Philippe closes the EP and reworks Energovill once again, this time into a melodic, atmospheric and dreamy beatless version.

* Throughout the 90's, DJ Bone was one of Detroit's best kept secrets. Releasing only a handful of 12 inches, Bone's eclectic and fast mixing style became popular in his home town, starting with his weekly residency at The Love Club, and gaining more all over Detroit 5 nights a week, as well as fortnightly live sets on Deep Space Radio.* In 1996, Laurent Garnier witnessed him DJing, and invited him to play in Paris' legendary Rex Club - a 12" for Juan Atkins' Metroplex soon followed, with a Peel Session, and his 'Subject:Detroit Volume 2' mix CD being distributed worldwide helping to establish him globally as a force in Detroit techno.* Anotherday are very proud to announce the reissue of that legendary Metroplex 12"; 'Riding The Thin Line'. From the sweeping strings and tribal loops of 'Shut The Lites Off', to the hissing bassy electro of 'The Funk' and woozy techno of 'The Haunting', this is DJ Bone at the peak of his powers.

Now based in Alabama, the Detroit-techno producer is returning to his roots. Embracing the trademark, minimal, funk techno sounds that defined his earlier career, Paradygm Shift Vol. 3 is classic Hood, operating in new, and uncharted ways.

The EP is an extension on the concept as outlayed by Hood during the project's conceptual stage: ''The idea behind Paradygm Shift is similar to a shift in our focus. We can become so complacent, we are so comfortable with our surroundings, I think this is the time for electronic music to find a new mindset.'' Kicking off off with 'Red Machine', where again parallels can be drawn between the days of Minimal Nation, and Internal Empire - the sound is sparse and brutalistic, representing a challenged future. A progressive melody syncopates along the tracks percussive, backbone, arching its way into the track's eventual demise. On the B-side, 'Transform' provides a composition of stripped, down electro, while taking in the 606 style, and adding additional, textural depth. It's a track full of subtle melody, and high-ranging claps, that make 'Transform' the perfect transitional tool, and standalone floor-filler at the same time.

'Red Machine' and 'Transform' reflect Hood's modern take on challenging techno. Meditative in their sequenced repetition, the tracks draw you in with their audacious, and memorizing sequences. It's contemporary techno, albeit techno that reflects Hood's style and nature. Pulsating, electrifying, with dark undertones, and very much of that Detroit flavour.

A Hidden Recordings mainstay, JC Laurent's once again combines his admiration and respect for Detroit's gritty past with a modern touch that makes his techno / house sound all his own. Previously on the label, he released 'From Nice to Berlin' with a remix from the legendary Fred P. AKA Black Jazz Consortium as well as 'Southside' with a remix from UK's Tom Dicicco (The Corner, Run Out Run). Handling important remix duties is Michigan native Myles Sergé. First introduced to techno in the late 80's and described as a 'Reclusive Perfectionist', his haunting productions reflect influences from early Detroit / Chicago electronic music.
