The turning point between Pumpin tribe and « back to techno »... X-tech have always been a bit electro and on this EP he defently goes for it... This is the successfull turning point for his artistic choice. Even if you can still feel the acid, and the pumpin and the breakbeat of a classic tribe tune, there is here already the elcrto (this is a Marseille thing), the down pitch to more reasonable speeds, and aslo the variety of style into a single, witch was kind of a revolution and will always be ! A breilliant record that deserved a descent repress ! Was mastered and cut at DK Mastering, near toolbox. Brightening old this old DAT before it's too late !

Quiet rare sound here with a banging oldschool reverless kicks full EP (exept for the Sloogy tune witch is more/less Pumpion). A sound that really goes crazy when played on sound systems : super dynamic !!! MUST HAVE : ) once again !!!

"After almost 20 years of making tracks with blaringly loud kicks, you tend to start producing with the other elements first to give yourself a break from the constant pounding of monitors at point blank range. Following an analog filter shopping spree, I began working on a group of tracks where the low end was satisfied by the filtering, and realized these songs worked just fine without a bass drum. Therefore this record is called "Rareforms" since most of my other work consists of a kick drum and lots of loud effects. This record is dedicated to the brilliant synthesist and interpreter Isao Tomita, whose records always provide inspiration in the lab. Also to master storyteller Rod Serling and his frequent collaborator Bernard Hermann, whose score for the Hitchcock film Vertigo I adapted through some MIDI processes and wavetable synthesis, then sent it through a 4-foot spring reverb." - Phil Moffa

Without doubt one of the names of 2012 and a regular name amongst the listings for Adam Beyer's Drumcode Radio show; Mark Reeve makes a debut on Drumcode with his Drumatic EP. Comprising four tracks, the release brings a familiar heavy-weight percussive sound to Drumcode, starting with The Beat and its marching rhythm powered along by a distinctive growling stab; before moving on to Drumatic with its snare-loop driven wall of sound; and on to Industrial, which comes in two versions - the original with a thumping kick and old-school pads and the Tool Mix which strips the track back to a rolling groove punctuated with an array of sonically interesting details and effects.

This is old school Pumpin tribe. A dancefloor masterpiece... Opening with a simple little classic sound... Then comes a more modern twirling acid spicy one... Highway is the good name for it : a nonstop growing mentaml acid pumper. B side is a preper tribe side, FKY spirit sound. It's pretty rare that after sutch a long silence a label assume its contunity into a style. Here it is well done and really upgraded. A perfect ! Must have.

With an A-side into Acid Glass effect, crazy ambiance and so good to mix : 1 long track a side, running 45 (and playable 33... what's a deejay if you don't change the speed ^^) ... The new Complexx Music Label is founded by Good Vibes Club - Head Alex Dior and Techno-Legend André Walter (Stigmata) and comes up with a massive Techno-House Trilogy from the production duo. Japanese Afternoonm is a 3 track EP could very well form a genre of their own. "Disco Geisha" and "Atomic Dance", combined with a special form of modern house & oldskool disco elements , are their special form of massive dancefloor anthems. "Japanese Afternoon" is dark, atmospheric and a rolling dancefloor killer !!

Nico Vascellari and Nicolò Fortuni come out to play in the dark on their 3rd and deadliest LP as Ninos Du Brasil, taking their fascinations with ritual musics - from Brazilian Afro-Latin tribal rhythms to library music and freezing Scandinavian BM - deep into the festering undergrowth of their shared, exotic aesthetic.
Where the cover of their first LP for Hospital Productions, Novos Mistérios (2014), depicted a naked man covered by a leopard pelt, Marvin Gaye Chatwynd's oil painting of a screeching Chiroptera in flight on the Vida Eterna jacket makes a strong visual allegory for NDB's finer tuned spatial sensitivities inside, with their churning rhythms now embedded in fathoms of dread space and father shaded in layers of processed vocal chants, both punk, metal, and tribalistic.
The big highlight is no doubt the closing cut, Vagalumes Piralampos, where Arto Lindsay, the legendary founder of DNA, chimes in on a stygian, moonlit jag between the eyes of bossa nova, batacuda and the sort of esoteric electronics also charted by Rainforest Spiritual Enslavement or Cienfuegos.
But it only really makes sense after you've expended your energies along with the band thru monstrous techno shakedowns such as O veto Chama Seu Nome, the soca-like rush of Condenado Por Un Idioma Desconhecido, or found yourself lost, without coordinates, in the pitch black breakdown of No Meio Da Noite and have been hypnotised by the stalking rhythms and atmospheres of Em Que O Rio Do Mar Se Toma.
The creation of this album, inspired by vampirism, was born from a collaboration between Vascellari and Fortuni with producer Rocco Rampino., whose love of dense textures and low-end bombast masterfully and cleverly couples with the bands explosive percussive charge, resulting in eight tracks that mimic sharp blades scything through a nocturnal jungle.

Since his last appearance on Hemlock (2015's double EP HEK025) Hodge has produced a seemingly effortless sequence of celebrated EPs and collaborations for Livity Sound, Berceuse Heroique and No Corner. Equally comfortable squaring up with heavyweights such as Randomer and Peder Mannerfelt as he is maintaining a prolific solo production output, Hodge has cemented himself as a leading voice in UK dance music and a champion of the elusive sweet spot where functional techno resonates with soundsystem culture.

One for the Hemlock fans who have been patiently tolerating this year's more experimental cuts. 'Swing for the Fences' is straight down to business getting the kicks in below one of those ear-wormer percussive atonal toplines Hodge does so well... the drop is one of the heaviest we've heard this year and tipped to raise some fingers, open mouths and spill drinks across dancefloors and TV studios worldwide.

Less pool cue more pool party 'Aomame' is a breezy melodic (patio) heater powered by tough drums and intricate percussive work. Arranged for both the dancers and the heads it freely refreshes and translates the main theme with a precision and playfulness that few producers can match.

'Medway' will warm up or cool out the dance with big room sirens and some rude detuned drum work. Still no messing about on the B2: It's a Hodge thing all the way.
