With a broad bandwidth ranging from - futuristic-deconstructive' compositions such as 'Da Dang' by Alex & Digby and 'Fragile' by Carlos Nilmmns or the many contributions to Q that fancy almost anachronistic acid and trance influences: Everything sounds fresh and forward thinking! The vocal parts and the arrangement of 'All I Can (About you)' by Baba Stiltz appear like electronic singer songwriting. The musical approach of Baba Stiltz is slightly similar to big Pepe Bradock productions and their Dada aesthetic. In contrast to this, 'Anno Domini' by Kamran Sadeghi follows the sound approach of early Maurizio / Basic Channel records and reminds us that modern techno does not always have to be impulsive and kicking, and certainly does not define itself over the most extreme 'drops' (sick!).

After his first successful records on 8Bit and Cecille Records, it were his 2008 EPs "Nesrib" (Cecille) and "Trompeta/Clarinete" on Ricardo Villalobos' label Sei es drum that everybody could agree upon.

After years of mainly working on coproductions, Andre Crom started to dive deep into solo studio work in november 2015, and since then has been pretty much obsessed with nothing else. 

These tracks belong to the first results of these endeavours, more will soon follow.

The EP opens with "Jaunde", a detroit-influenced spacy cut, somewhere between techno and house. Building on the foundation of a solid Kick&Sub groove we are welcomed by a deep and hypnotic arp theme, wrapped into warm bass pads and a classic string. A perfect track for the later hours of a set.

"Ritus" is aimed more towards building tension, an energetic syncopated stab lead, demanding claps and a tight groove build towards an epic breakdown, before a warm pads gives resolve.

"Momentum" is clearly the peaktime cut of the package, built around driving percussions and an intense arp lead.

Charlotte De Witte, one of Belgium's most promising newcomers and known from several EP's on Turbo, makes her OFF debut with a remix of Jaunde, taking things into a more linear and darker direction.

Dissonant is back with a very significant new signing, Cardace & Perazzini and their most complete artistic statement to the date displayed in two parts. 'Noir Jungle - Part I", sets the tone to this exciting project where the talented Italian duo explores different dimensions, taking house and techno as basis to build up with amazing diversity a truly unique style on top of it. 'Grow Box' engage you into a fascinating mysterious route, using strong undercurrents of sub bass and spacious reverb processing, to inspire a truly immersive experience. The detail in the drums is paramount, constantly evolving throughout the track and propelling the metallic textures and spoken word samples towards a dynamic end-point at the deep end of the techno spectrum. 'Noir' leads the way with a catchy hook rooted in cinematic jazz samples that flirt with the crisp drum programming, creating a piece that moves gracefully between tight house rhythms and loose live sounds. This juxtaposition gives the track a natural flamboyancy as well as an atmosphere of seduction, without ever losing sight of the fundamental funk at the heart of the Cardace & Perazzini sound. 'Jungle Terrace' leads the way with a dynamic, enchanting workout that rides on an hypnotic experimental synth tone and a many-layered groove built from organic percussion. These drum licks and wooden ripples lend a natural feel to the track as it twists through crafty edits and a mysterious vocal sample, creating a truly distinctive dance track in the process. This is a record that gives the taste of the forthcoming double-pack, introducing the core qualities and diversity of Cardace & Perazzini' sound while raising anticipation for what else they have in store for us on Noir Jungle part II.

Following his debut ep 'Teoria', Dragosh returns on Paragram with 'Em Tum', which comes with three original tracks, all featuring the artist's typical sound signature. On the B side, RADIQ aka Yoshihiro Hanno offers a more floor oriented 'Em Tum' reinterpretation.

Fool : The track is built around a roaring 808 kick which immediately emphasizes the raw straight forward character Haste Midi wants to attribute to the track. On the other side the pads which are sampled from a 70s vinyl provide the warmth and width the track needs to harmonize in a housy way. It also reects the analogue aspect which is an essential feature of Haste Midi's sound. The second part of the track is marked by a beautiful vocal sampled from Midways '84 classic "Set it out". Again this soft element stands in contrast to the whizzing hihat which adds additional drive to the track. Finally the two basslines are rounding off the track making it a minimalistic retro-house tune. With his Remix, Daniel Stefanik added some smooth, chilled out sexyness to this Track.

Gone : Gone begins where Fool stops. Straight 909 drums and percussions hit on looped atmosphere and a bassline, that even might bring pensioners to dance. Rounded by moved claps and a trumpet in the break, this song is created for the dance oor. Gone is a homage to the straight, danceable House sound of the early 90´s. With his Remix, Ruben Mandolini added a straight forward Techno attitude to the Track.

Vilena Records is 5 years old and decided to celebrate with it's first vinyl with 4 tracks. Side A is characterized by dub sounds and two tracks: the first one by Matt Star, German artist who manages Repeat Music and has productions on labels such as Cocoon Records, Kling Klong and many others, the second track is by Alex Veronesi and Paolo Mosca aka Rejekt. Side B is composed of two tech house tracks: the first is by Stan Garac, Spanish artist class '83 that has collaborate with labels like Viva Music and Hall of Fame, while the second track is by one of the greatest artists of Vilena Records, Massimo Pozzi aka Max (Italy).

Gregory Darsa aka POINT G aka Dj Gregory is a long-time galaxy traveler. During one of his journeys, he met Cap'n Cabannon in a mercenary spacecraft, and as they were exchanging time travel techniques, they came out with the idea of creating a flat black hole able to achieve a 20 years trek in just a few minutes. So here we are: Classics & Unreleased Jams, provides a high quality rush fuel that turns any space travel into an exhilarating time experience.

In the space of two short years Shlømo has quickly established himself alongside the likes of Marcelus, Bambounou, Francois X and the Antinote Records crew as a key figure in Paris' current techno generation. Having established his own Taapion Records label in 2013 and built a roster around a core of local producers including Roman Poncet, PVNV and Antigone, in addition to enlisting Stephen Brown, Conforce and Sterac as remixers for the label's releases so far.

For its fifth release, Bright Sounds - run by fellow Parisian Kennedy Smith - revisits last year's Rechaïm EP (BSRX003), with a trio of remixers offering their own takes on Shlømo's established deep and expansive sound.

First up is the aforementioned 50 Weapons artist Bambounou, who offers a dynamic groove-based version of the title track that bounces along an elastic kick drum with cut-up fragments of the original's atmospheric pads providing further impetus. Label owner Kennedy Smith takes on Theory Is The Worst by bringing its dub textures to the for while filling the track's empty spaces with intricate drum patterns.Finally, Italian techno pioneer Donato Dozzy turns Grounded Queen into a classic Dozzy slow-burning techno trip, with his trademark layered sound complimenting the track's subtle rhythmic backbone.

D'julz returns to Ovum with the 'DIVE' EP A longtime staple of the Ovum roster, D'Julz returns with his fifth release on the label the 'Dive' EP. Our great friend has been busy of late, successfully building, A&Ring and releasing on his incredible Bass Culture imprint. He has also been prolific on the remix front with reworks on Oslo, Rekids, Dessous, Soma, and Ovum. His latest Ovum release opens with the title track, Dive. Deep, brooding and loaded with bulbous bass throbs throughout, this atmospheric techno cut with its rasping hi-hats and marching drum-line is not one for the feint of heart. Ramping things up on the flip is the glorious Self Construction, with its warm bassline, euphoric synth riff, groove-inducing stabs and bubbling melody, D'Julz delivers a perfect DIY soundtrack. Also included is an exclusive Dub mix of Self Construction which takes us deeper with its spritely key melody.

Once upon a time ... close to a lake in a small village named Lenz. Pleasant silence filled the air in this idyllic lake land of Mecklemburg. A gentle breeze blew and the tree branches quivered to its pulse. Listening closely, one could hear the soft purl of the lake. A distant spring storm raged through the night, supplanted by the majestic rise of a red fire ball rapidly approaching the illuminated firmament. Breaking through the last shades of the night, gentle birdsongs pierced the solitude of the almost virgin nature. Emerging from a humble and picturesque cottage, soft electric melodies are carried through the cosmos to invigorate and titillate our senses. Four years after their successful debut album 'Dark Orbit' (May 2009), the DJ-Duo Heinrichs & Hirtenfellner prepare to release their second album called 'Lenz'. In defiance of breakup rumors, their latest stroke of genius promises to arouse spring feelings for all electronic music fans. In the summer of 2011, acclaimed DJs, Alfred Heinrichs and Sascha Braemer, had already conceived the initial ideas of their new album. In the meantime, the pair kept busy working on solo projects and remixes for various DJs and labels as well as keeping active international careers. Last spring, in order to increase and intensify the creative process of the project, the two Berliners expelled themselves from the noisy and restless metropolis to an isolated timberland bungalow. Leaving all forms of communication behind, they were delivered pure inspiration from the soft sounds and impressive backdrop of Mother Nature herself.

Recognition opens up its archives and invites to a futuristic sentimental journey with respective stages set by the '9702'. Album contains a set of varied tracks recorded within five years after Warsaw label's launch and its first release. Extended compositions and short improvised sound notes resemble eccentric propositions of such labels as (early) Warp or Rephlex, standing next to melancholy-saturated minimalistic techno and abstract collage structures which prove out to share many characteristics of clicks'n'cuts movement of the second half of the 1990's. Usage of human voice samples is an outstanding feature of many of these archive materials. Entirety of mastered-anew content encompassing both records, contains all principal trademarks which distinguish Jacek Sienkiewicz's creations and his label Recognition - utmost care about depth of sound sphere, experimental inclinations and focus on complex motoric aspect of the rhythmical base. This collection of music from Recognition's first five years, surprising for its freshness and sheer impetus, is a must for all fans of Jacek Sienkiewicz and Polish electronic music of the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries. In connection with publication of yet-unheard tracks, Jacek shares another slice of yet-unknown artistic vision, connecting sound with other media such as image, light and movement. RECOGNITION XX - audio-video performance - comes out in summer as a result of this retrospective look.
