QUIVVER AKA JOHN GRAHAM RETURNS WITH A 3 TRACK EP FOR DIGWEEDS BEDROCK LABEL.

Founded in 1999 by Italian techno legend, Rino Cerrone, Rilis Rec (the phonetic spelling of release) has been pushing a conceptual take on tech house for a decade. Focused on providing functional, loop-based tracks, the series has evolved from the original ten untitled tracks to include special edition releases to create a .5 series.

Mowar's 6th release is delivered by label boss Franco Cangelli, 2 solid deep techno cuts accompanied by an exquisite MLZ treatment. 'Paper Cut' is a smooth and hypnotizing dubbed out techno track for the deeper dancefloor moments.

Glasgow based Automaton UK makes his Hum+Haw debut with the genre defying 'British Steel', a mesmerising lo-fi-dub excursion that resonates deep, dark and pure. Automaton UK has previously released on 7th Sign Recordings and is one of Glasgow's finest DJ's and purveyors of fine electronic funk.

The "Environmental Radiation Dose on the Moon" EP is the first collaboration between Zooloft and Aconito records. The two labels are twinned in exploring the limits of techno, experimenting with structures and sequences and ultimately arriving at the place where the deep and dark sublimes. The EP opens with "The Child That Was Watching The Moon" a track lifted right out of the drone-techno hymnal. It starts with muddied, subterranean bass and builds not just outwards but inwards. Filled with obtuse references and metallic rasps the atmosphere created is obscure and spectral. On the reverse "The Moon That Was Watching The Child" sounds like it's been exposed to radiation. The sounds are distorted, as if created from samples of the genome unzipping. The arrangement is stunning, bells filter in and out and the layers smelt into one another. There is awe at work here, but it's an awe that remains underpinned by terror. This release, mastered in Berlin at the legendary Calyx studio, is something of a record collector's dream. It will be released on solid silver vinyl in a very limited edition of just 200 copies. ZA000LTD should be enjoyed on wax, this won't be available digitally.
