'Trace' was one of AUS's most successful records to date and a real statement of intent for both Midland & Aus going into 2013. 'Trace' was voted 16th best track of 2013 by Resident Advisor and No.3 in both DJ Mag & Mixmag's tracks of the year As an appropriate celebration, almost exactly a year on, now in 2014, we see the return of 'Trace,' with remixes from tribal techno legend Grain and AUS affiliate, Leon Vynehall. Last year Vynehall stamped his mark on the AUS roster with his rough and ready 'B other/Sister' EP, also released on Martyn's label 3024, all while his collaborative project with A1 Bassline as Laszlo Dancehall hit the roof. Grain, not having released any records since the 90's and early 2000's was known for his tribal techno on labels such as FatCat Records. Fairly anonymous at the time Grain aka Arthur Smith, eventually dipped his toe into the dubstep scene as one-third of Magnetic man. Nowadays better known as Artwork, Grain has lived, created and been at the core of some of the most popular dance music genres in the last 15 years. Grain now emerges from over a decade ago, pressing his varied experience onto the original. A celebration of young and old producers,revisiting one of 2013's most significant soundtracks.
