Once again it's time for a new addiction to the Paragram family. The second Paragram's release of 2014 is in the care of Phred, a new artist we are really glad to have on board.

The ep opens with the title track "Nebular", a 10 minutes excursion into the trippiest side of music. The intro builds ambience with a soft filtered pad, adding a sense of space and mystery, on top of wobbly synthesized percussions and raw drums. The long track playtime allows the artist to express all his ability to merge clever sampling fragments from old dusty records, with futuristic synthesized elements.

On the flip, the jazz and soul sample-based, early 90's hip-hop influences become more present. The second track, "Harlem", begins with a processed urban field recording of a confused street conversation with a catchy break beat drum pattern on top of it, until the warm sub bass and the melancholic chords melody emerge from the arrangement.

The closing track "Matic" features dark jazzy sounds as well as the other tracks in the ep, but it doesn't care much of the softer side. It's very raw, solid and punchy techno from the beginning to the end of its playtime.

Well known as the home of the sexiest kind of deep tech grooves, sometimes Dissonant also needs to remind the world of its purist techno roots. With powerful rhythms, tense atmospheres and a clear message, the fifteenth release on Marc Antona's label comes from the fresh talent of Ulm West Deep. Placing an emphasis on strong drums and heavy atmosphere, the duo from South Germany prove themselves to be a strong addition to the label following their impressive debut EP Here We Are for Suara in 2012. 'Riders Of The Lost' is a psychedelic mind-catcher that drives forwards on a prominent kick and powerful bassline. The metallic, natural percussion interlocks with the hypnotic melodies for a surreal yet positive journey. Taking a very different approach, 'Anima e Corpo' kicks into action with an unexpected combination of natural percussion and subversive melodies all feeding into a seriously heavy kind of techno. Highlighting their skills in production as well as their vivid imaginations, DS015 is a perfect introduction to the dark and hypnotic sound world that Ulm West Deep inhabit.

Although firmly entrenched in the Minus camp for years, this latest four track EP from US born, Berlin based Ambivalent marks a widening of his sonic remit. As such it arrives on the broader techno outpost that is Plus 8, and can be added to the likes of Clink for whom the man known as Kevin McHugh has also recorded.

Bavaria based label Treibjagd-Records strikes again with its fourth installment featuring Patrick Kunkel (Cocoon Records) & Sascha Barth. "The Door" is a smooth Tech House track, including an earsoothing female vocal sample. This gets backed by remixes from label owner Ill-Boy Phil, DJoker with a little techno-ish touch and the brainfreezing subbass of the Joseph Disco Remix. Another release not to miss from this new and uprising label.

Our maestro is back. After releasing a pair of successive Eastern Hemisphere EPs on Euro-Moroccan imprint Cosmo Records and an appearance for Pluie/Noir's stupendous 3×12 compilation, Radiq aka yoshihiro HANNO finally makes his return to Tokyo's op.disc with this absorbing, exquisite full-length titled 'Vida Noir'.
Since day one, Radiq has been showing an affinity for the Afro-centric funkiness and carefully-honed sound design of modern day's minimal music. As in many of his previous tracks, all six songs of 'Vida Noir' has this certain kind of unyielding quality: long, hypnotic grooves with muted kick drum set the stage for more emancipated experiments in texture and sound design. On 'A Long Hot Summer Break', for example, the effect is utterly obvious as kicking its ass into gear with syncopated drums and strain of warm chords before animated vocal sample slips in like fingerprint. While deeply seductive interplay of those chugging percussion gives way to delighted horn of 'A-Dieu', warm chord and acoustic guitar of 'Calling' is perfect example for Radiq's masterful sound and texture.'Machine Codes Modified' has rather restrained structure for him, but tightly woven drums speaks eloquently about its carefully arranged funkiness and dance floor functionality.
Despite their repetitiveness, it's surprising how well these productions forming cohesive solidarity as an album. Presumably, it owes a lot to wide tonal vocabulary which is Radiq's hallmark: these tracks has something concentrated, vivid qualities. This album sits just at the edge of the dance floor, but also performs its exceptional strength on intense home listening. Dusky synth and truncated surge of bass of 'Vida Noir' constructing something dark, before closing this album with modulated Afro-acoustic guitar and deep falsetto voice (by the producer himself) of 'Rondo'. This album offers up an engaging and comprehensive amalgamation from the inquisitive sound by the maestro.

The Ostfunk Classic Series features only those Ostfunk tracks, that have been highlights in the Berlin clubscene and at the Ostfunk events and whose vinyl release has been requested by many DJs. Chapter III presents Daniel Boons & Stereo Jacks hit - 11' in the kickin original version and its groovy Patrick Lindsey remix as well as the style-defining Ostfunk classics - Fastnacht' and - Zampern' by the cult-duo Lizzara & Tatsch.

Innovative Spanish producer Uner is the next to step up on the Visionquest imprint with his 'Universe EP'. This epic three-tracker showcases his unique sound and musical background on a mesmerizing, trippy ride of modern electronica.

A-side 'Sol' (Latin for 'Sun') represents the bright side of the universe. Beautifully epic in length and sound, detailed percussion leads the way as melodic keys creep and swell through the suspense of continuous rolling builds. The melodic flourishes demonstrate Uner's musical passion with perfect rhythm, leaving an all-engulfing big room track filled with techy wonderments.

Over on the flip, B-side 'Luna' (Latin for 'Moon'), steps into an intriguingly dark and weird territory. Eerie synths flow through spacey zaps and intricate layers of sound while a raw pumping bass surges forward. Dark keys emulate Uner's musicality while haunting vocals echo and a dramatic build takes you on a hypnotic wave of melodics, dropping back into the floor rattling bass. A trippy, cinematic affair destined to swarm your mind and senses.

One of the most important names of the new generation of Spanish electronic producers, Uner has been able to release on highly acclaimed labels such as Diynamic, 2020 Vision, Get Physical and Defected, with his music championed by the likes of Laurent Garnier, Carl Cox and Luciano. Since 2011, aside touring the world as a DJ, Uner has been presenting his live gigs with an audio visual concept in which he uses state-of-the-art software and hardware (from iPads to mini midi keyboards) to explore his most solid, personal side. The artistic expansion of the Catalonian producer continues to grow, expressing his way of understanding electronic music from a musical point of view and from the centre of the dancefloor.

Rolling with a lucid low-end groove and Asia Argento's sultry purring sermon, this rich, bulbous bass joint is coded with the intricate attention to detail Dubfire has long since been associated with. Dynamically deep but sonically hulking, this is Dubfire at his darkest and most demonstrative. And it comes with a unique story that befits such an exceptional release...

Several years ago Ali Naderzad, an old college friend of Dubfire's, moved to Paris, became a film critic and befriended critically acclaimed writer, director and actress Asia Argento. Famed for pushing herself creatively in a myriad fields - from writing novels to modelling - her involvement and passion for music led to an album. Released last year on Nuun Music, Total Entropy was penned with scene-shaping Italian producer and musician the.art.of.FY (Michele Pauli). When he heard 'Come', Ali Naderzad instantly thought of his old friend for a remix project. 

'I met Asia at the Cannes Festival in 2013,' says Naderzad. 'I heard her album and got hooked immediately.  The music has a lot in common with Dubfire's deep and dark sound and I thought of him immediately for a reboot of "Come." It was that eureka moment, I guess!'

He instantly joined the dots between Dubfire, Asia and producer Pauli and the talented trio knew they had something special on their hands: Pauli's original stark sonic bedrock, Asia's sensuous spoken words and Dubfire's ability to inject his twisted sonic signature while paying complete respect to the original ensured this remix of 'Come' would smash in all directions.

With such strong connections and such a wealth of creativity behind it, SCI+TEC knew it would be the perfect record to highlight their centennial release. Celebrations don't get deeper or more discerning than this.

After Martinez and it's "Interaction" EP, it's another great honor for JETT to welcome a king size artist on the label.

Andreas Henneberg is the founder of Voltage Musique Records and Cascandy as well as part of 'The Glitz' and 'Hennon'. He is also parts of the famous Plantage 13 family and regulary releases on record labels like IDEAL Audio, Confused Recordings, Herzblut, AREAL, Kiddaz.FM, Material and Toolroom.

Aldo Cadiz is already well known on JETT with his famous EP 'Zaze Tripa' in 2011, he strikes again with his very own groovy and techy style. JETT label owner Fred Siera delivers the second remix in a dark and deep mood.

Robin Kampschoer started to experiment with composing music using drum machines, synthesizers, and other analogue equipment in 1998. In 2000, this resulted in performing live acts of which he is now recognised for. Today, while combining hardware of the past with digital tools of today, he has been playing around the world for over a decade. Robin is known for a distinctive music style, which varies between funky and deep Detroit- techno and minimalistic dub.

Berghain-Resident Norman Nodge stellt auf seinem 12-Inch Sampler für die 'Berghain 06'-Mix-CD drei von ihm ausgewählte und bisher unveröffentlichte Exklusiv-Tracks zusammen. Der erste Track von Techno-Veteran Mark Broom, 'Vault 5', kommt sofort zur Sache, nimmt ohne Einleitung den Dancefloor ins Visir und baut langsam aber sicher die Spannung auf. Hallende, geflüsterte Vocals runden die dramatische Stimmung dieser Produktion ab. Auch wenn im Dunkeln bleibt, wer hinter Birds Two Cage steckt - mit 'Gase' legt das Outfit einen kurzen, aber wohl geformten Ambient-Track vor. Der Track eröffnet Normans Mix und auch für sich allein weiß er zu verzücken. Auf der B-Seite präsentiert Patrick Gräser (aka Answer Code Request) mit 'From Foreign Territories' eine kühne Kombination aus seinem ganz eigenen Stil und klassischen Techno-Elementen. Das Resultat ist ein frischer Sound, der wie für den aktuellen Berghain-Dancefloor gemacht ist.

Unclear 004 scars the up and coming debut of Niro as a producer, by producing an EP designed by a deep and a strong dub and techno tonalities.
Side A is strongly inspired and imprinted from the deep house of Agachoo and from Reshape mix of Fred P that manages to produce his own originality integrated with a strong dub atmosphere.
Side B is a discovery into the techno soul differently from the previous EP described before. Starship Hookers demonstrates an ever more strong reference to deep, that the remix of MRSK manages to strip completely bringing the entire disc into the purest of techno.
