Next up on VEYL is a new face on the label but no stranger to the music world. NEVER is the project of Stefano Santi, a multi-instrumentalist and electronic music producer who has been active since the early 2000’s. After several years of working as an audio engineer and touring the globe with bands, he has
always had a parallel life as a producer with a club affinity. NEVER began in his own SPVN studio during the pandemic amidst the isolation of lockdown. His inspiration reborn after abandoning all boundaries and giving little care to traditional songwriting structures.
The result is 'JXDY', the new album which showcases the project’s diverse voice and technical prowess. Not confined to a particular genre, the release masterfully touches on everything from post-punk and shoe gaze to hints of death rock and electronica. From the opening strings of 'RXBT', we’re taken to a
relentless world of shadows and bleeding emotion, which conjures nostalgia of days long gone while maintaining an ominous sense of future. From the euphoric, pulse pounding action of 'HVRXLD' to the utter heartbreak of 'CXLE', NEVER weaves in and out of agitation, rage and regret, fueling a fire that that
continues to burn from beginning to end.
Navigating to the crushing 'HXRNE' through the menacing tones of 'BLVCKBXRN'until finishing things up with the heartbreaking, cinematic feel of the title track, 'JXDY' is nine offerings of uncompromising passion and pain, leaving a lasting imprint on both the mind and body.

WRWTFWW Records is very excited to celebrate the 40 years anniversary of cult band Grauzone with the release of their definitive and comprehensive Limited 40 Years Anniversary Box Set, packed with their complete discography, as well as a never-released-before live recording, an 80-page fanzine with an extensive biography written by Swiss music historian Lurker Grand, unseen archival material, and artist contributions, and a poster replica of an original concert flyer from 1980.



Conceived, conceptualized and supervised by original band member Stephan Eicher, the box set includes the following exclusive content:



- Grauzone’s self-titled album from 1981 reissued as a 180g vinyl double LP with 9 additional tracks, amounting to the band’s complete studio discography. Included are the classics "Eisbär", "FILM 2", "Raum", "Moskau", "Träume Mit Mir", "Der Weg Zu Zweit", and "Wütendes Glas (Maxi Version)", as well as the deep and unconventional album cuts that make Grauzone so unique. The double LP is housed in a heavy gatefold sleeve, with liner notes by Lurker Grand, an insert with the original album’s lyrics, and a special Xeroxed artwork imagined by Stephan Eicher.

Absolutely ALL the elements included in this box set collection were photocopied by hand with a vintage Xerox machine before being printed, as wished by Stephan Eicher (who took care of photocopy duties for a good chunk of the material). A bold artistic choice, a nod to the DIY ways of the era this release represents, and drawing a parallel between the acts of reissuing and photocopying.







GRAUZONE INFO



The pioneering band from Bern (Switzerland) had a short-lived but highly-regarded career which birthed a cult discography that still fascinates and resonates today. Consisting of core members Martin Eicher, Stephan Eicher, and Marco Repetto, and on-and-off participants Christian GT Trüssel, Claudine Chirac, and Ingrid Berney, the elusive group broke new grounds in the early 80s, experimenting with punk and industrial music, early techno sounds, minimalism, new wave, pop, and various electronics. With an innovative and polished approach to design, visuals, performance, and all around style and philosophy on top of their superb music, the constantly transforming unit developed a whole experience - the Grauzone experience: wild and unpredictable, yet sophisticated and cohesive, or as Swiss music historian Lurker Grand would call it, "an Art band with a Punk attitude".



Completely rejecting the music industry rules and refusing to play the game of promotion, touring, release schedules, and TV appearances even though they had a multi-platinum international hit with the song "Eisbär", the band quickly disintegrated in full convention-defying glory, leaving behind an inspiring music legacy for the world to discover and discover again, one generation after the other.



Stephan Eicher went on to be, arguably, the most successful Swiss musician ever, with an international career extending from pop chanson to experimental escapades and collaborations with Moondog, artists Sophie Calle and John Armleder, and author Martin Suter among many other luminaries. Marco Repetto flourished as a techno and ambient producer, releasing multiple projects including releases on Aphex Twin’s Rephlex label.

N8noface is globally acclaimed as one of the most fresh and raw acts of the United States. For his debut in Oráculo N8noface presents an album where reviews some of his classic tracks exploring his most dark and minimal side, but not forgetting his unique new-punk sound for the likes of Sleaford Mods.

His proposal is extremely minimalistic but effective at the same time with that classic 90’s west-coast attitude that could remind even to the best era of Cypress Hill.

The whole thing surely deserves a place in the best vinyl collections. Presented in a one-off truly limited edition of 300 copies, lacquered pressed on 180gr. high quality solid black vinyl. All tracks have been specially restored and remastered for long cut vinyl by Daniel Hallhuber at Young and Cold Studios.

Cormac first became aware of Tjor in 2019 while on tour in Brazil. “Azuli” fast became a staple in his sets that
year.
An avid digger and record collector, Tjor has been mixing since 2010. He his noted for his outstanding sets at
the infamous ODD Parties in Brazil where he glides between techno, synthwave and italo influences

For the 21st release, we bring together artists from France, UK and Germany. French Live duo, H.L.M bring their signature raw synth punk to the label, Berlin/NYC cosmic queen Tony Y Not takes things dark and wavy, Kimshies collective burn the floor an with electro swamp stomper, UK’s fast and rising REES dives into the dungeons of doom with a gothic wonky weapon.

Finally closing things out is a melancholic dark disco new wave laced anthem from France’s Endrik Schroeder of ZONE and Ritmo Fatale fame.

Portage Garage Sounds is proud to present the label's first LP, "Capturing Animals" (PGS 017) by Charles Trees. Recorded over a two year period, Capturing Animals preserves the isolation and individual atomization experienced by all over recent years as well as the jubilance of humanity's reconnection.

The 11 track album presents itself as an interconnected work--the listener is guided through the album's narrative and sequential structure effortlessly by Trees' arrangement and showcase of his production and composition talents. The album offerses glimpses of early Detroit techno, flashes of EBM, drips of acid (and full-on doses in "FRQDNK"), stripped-down electro, UK RNB, prominent vocals (as heard in "Stave I" and a Sophie cover), and composed works of live strings.

Capturing Animals is a high point for Trees' and Portage Garage Sounds. The raw talent and dedication is unmistakable. The artist and the label are moving onto higher ground and reaching upwards.

"Latex Love" has been remastered for its first release on vinyl, nearly 30 years later. The Instrumental Version was transferred from the original DAT tape used by the band for their live performances. Kris Baha's inspired dub was re-made from the ground up. And this is the first official remix from Spotlight's Chris Cruse. The vinyl record package includes never-before-seen photography from Michael Matson, an essay from Ron Athey, and a reproduction of the original Drance sticker.
Drance's songs reflected an uneasiness towards disease and modern culture, a lust for the forbidden, and a raw power and rage to stay alive on their own terms.

The top tier imprint that is Is It Balearic is back with more blissed-out and beach brilliance, this time with a trio of masterpieces from Das Komplex. A whole world of influences are called up on here and then distilled into primo Komplex sounds - opener 'Quest' brings a slick 80s new wave vibe with a ragged guitar riff and splashy hits over heavy drums and under well-treated vocals. It is awash with waves of dance floor warmth then 'Never Stop' is all shimmering vocals and Japanese house chords over 80s house beats. Emotive and uplifting for sure, then ' Dzis' closes out with chugging percussion and strummed acoustic guitars. It's a heart of the dance floor gem full of love and good-time vibes.

Blazing newcomer Henri Bergmann makes her full EP debut on Watergate Records with the captivating ‘Mind Control’ EP.
Building a buzz via impressive releases on her label Automatik, the Londoner has picked up support from everyone from Dixon, Solomun and Maceo Plex. Indeed, mention the Dodi Palese Remix remix of her track ‘Protection’ to any clued-up melodic house fan and you’re likely to be met with a blissed-out response, so beloved was the cut, which also ended up in Tale of Clubs’ top 10 for 2021.
Her maiden voyage on the Oberbaumbrücke home label is a tour de force of chugging house that encompasses new wave, electro and progressive elements, with a strong cast of collaborators and remixes
along the way.
Pushing herself creatively during the lockdown, this EP is the first time we’ve heard Henri utilise her voice on her own productions, and the resulting work is a treat. The title track is a team-up with Biesmans who brings his distinct retro sound signature to the track, while Henri’s vox elevates it to another level. ‘Our Time Has Come’ is a punchy dancefloor gem propelled by her own vocals and a classy psychedelic synth line. ‘We Just Keep On Going’ brings bags of robotic soul to the table, as Henri’s husband Wennink takes to the
vocoder, alongside a mystical lead melody. Stephan Jolk returns to the label following his excellent ‘Freedom’ EP in April, re-working ‘Mind Control’ into a muscular weapon. Meanwhile Echonomist, who is notable for his appearance on WhoMadeWho’s Watergate 26 compilation, also takes his hand to the title track, re-fashioning it into a tough bass-driven electro cut that’s beautiful and brain-scrambling in equal

French-iranian composer & dj Sina XX is a hyperactive kid with a taste for basslines that will make you jump out of your seat. Dropping his 4th Ep within a year, his high-energy production is inspired by new wave, techno and 90/00s EBM. Now considered as one of the key players of the french rave scene, Sina XX presents his new EP completed with a remix by hardcore & EBM legend The Horrorist. Hush featuring fellow Russian drum & bass don Enei, and Hospital's freshest signing SOLAH, is a techy drum & bass liquid number layered with hazy chimes, minimal 2-step drums and a sinister bassline. Stripped back and rolling, SOLAH's vocals are a sublime addition as she graces the track with her delicate harmonies and captivating lyricism.

In true Bop x Subwave fashion, Addicted To Space is a UK- garage stepper complete with subtle lo-fi injections. As they step into the 130BPM territory brace yourself for dissonant chord stabs, distorted vocal chops and a womping bassline. This isn't the duo's first rodeo in the world of garage either - their initial UKG collaboration 'Haze' topped the Beatport Garage charts back in 2020.

Imagine a world in which you are permitted, by a warlock, to go back in time to use an advanced yet primitive submarine to investigate the deepest waters in and around Japan, for the first time in human history. You are not permitted, but two Japanese scientists were allowed on such an aquatic adventure!

Here we have an underwater in-submarine field recording of their adventures, intermixed with a slippery-watery score, that surely represents the lurking fresh surroundings of the deep as they retreat further and further to the bottom of the ocean. The cameras, the retracting mechanical sea tentacle, their communication devices, are all audible now for you, as Deep Sea Animals is played out as a fresh digital radio play. All the audio has been preserved at Studio Isabellalei, by Milan W. from the original laserdisc, which was a part of the cinematic curatorial program at the opening for Spencer Clark’s album Avatar Blue, in Antwerp, Belgium.

With a purchase of the vinyl album of Deep Sea Animals on Pacific City Discs, you not only return to the prehistoric times of 1986, when two brave Japanese submarine pilots were to record deep underwater creatures, but you are also thus thrust back in time to Antwerp 2018, to a romantically titled, Event Horizon Cactus Cooler Laserdisc Theater. Just as well, the proceeds of this disk, tirelessly edited by Spencer Clark, will be donated to the preservation of the ocean, via the inspiring Sylvia A. Earle’s foundation, Mission Blue. Its not that you may or may not believe what I am now discussing with you, its that you can believe, because this disk is real, and thanks to Pacific City and Discrepant we will ride further into the super-natural realms of real life.

Active in the mid-80’s and heavily influenced by the British post-punk dissonant style and the Belgian cold-wave melancholic atmosphere, The Ultimate Dreamers resurrected during the COVID lock-down, releasing a selection of good old demo songs on their “Live Happily While Waiting For Death” release. The essence of Dame Area – the project of Barcelona-based duo Silvia Kostance and Viktor L. Crux – is formidable, volatile, unpredictable. Across two albums and several EPs, Dame Area have executed an eclectic, discerning form of contemporary industrial music, deploying compulsive minimal synth and primal polyrhythms, as well as uniquely reconstrued elements of post-punk & EBM. An artistic identity that embraces influence yet eschews compromise.

Upholding the assaultive intensity of their renowned live shows, Dame Area’s third album ‘Toda la mentira sobre Dame Area’ / ‘All the Lies about Dame Area’ nevertheless discloses unexpected developments, a work distinguished by innovation and classicism, discordance and melodicism, the grit of a basement club and the gleam of a radical discotheque. The first of two twin LPs, ‘Toda la mentira sobre Dame Area’ illustrates one world within the wider universe of Dame Area, an album of paradox, which finds the duo at their most explicit and emphatic, but which also sees them detour, into some of their most experimental material to date. Across eight tracks, Dame Area assert an original, seductive idea of pop, laced with avant-garde subversion.

Gridlocked minimal synth mechanics are riven with insurgent noise and dub echoes on ‘La Nueva Era’ (‘The New Era’) while the fierce hedonism of ‘Innamorata del tuo Controllo’ (‘In Love with your Control’) evokes striking alternative histories; Gino Soccio meets Deutsch Amerikanische Freundschaft, the Italo years of Liaisons Dangereuses, Nitzer Ebb reworked by Bobby O. Conversely, the disarming finale ‘A Volte Sembra Stia Per Finire’ (‘Sometimes It Seems To Be Ending’) is dreamlike and winsome, the sound of an auspicious horizon, hitting the sweet spot somewhere between Chris & Cosey’s ‘October Love Song’, the Dorothy ‘I Confess’ 7” on Industrial Records, as well as the finer moments of Martin Dupont and early Human League. Yet throughout these highlights and beyond, Dame Area establish their own voice, as vivid derivation becomes transformation and inspirations are redefined.

Dame Area have been accurately described as purveyors of combat music - ‘Música de lucha’ - rather than producers of dance music. This holds true on ‘All the Lies about Dame Area’. However, their sense of contention here is expansive and dynamic. ‘All the Lies about Dame Area’ is a record of tension and surprise, where the distinction between melody and abstraction is thrillingly undetermined. A provocative record for the here and now, which proves Dame Area are never easily contained.

»Italia Synthetica 1981-1985« represents the musical mutation that occurred after the post-punk hangover gave way to more frigid emotional shores, in-line with the synth-wave moment that was sweeping Europe and the white cliffs of Albion. This scene flourished in Italy between 1981-1985, and the musicians that came out of it are still revered today (particularly in the US).

Robotic rhythms and intuitions that, besides sharing common ground with the electronic movements that had come before, also knew how to fill up the dancefloor. Featuring four previously unreleased tracks by Der Blaue Reiter, along with tracks by Modo, Actor's Studio, and La Maison, as well as the still fresh sounding contributions by true pioneers of the genre Neon and Naif Orchestra. Also features Ein-st-ein, Scortilla, Eurotunes, Oh Oh Art, and 2+2=5 featuring Paolo Mauri.

12” EP by the lovely French synthwave duo known as DEUX. GERARD PELLETIER and CATI TETE formed Deux shortly after meeting in Lyon in 1981. Their music can be described as minimal synth with stripped down rhythm compositions and suitably cold duets. A perfect blend of archetypal Kraftwerkian pop and French synth, these set of songs comprise their later years (1985) and stylistically sound like classic house combined with the romance of New Wave. This EP features previously unreleased newly remastered studio and demo tracks. Pressed on 180 gram gold vinyl, limited to 999 hand-numbered copies. Note: due to a pressing plant issue, the color of the vinyl isn’t precisely gold – it’s more of an olive golden brown.

Veyl welcomes Blind Delon to the label for their third album, La Métamorphose. Founded in 2016 by Mathis Kolkoz, the project released several EPs leading up to their first full length, Discipline (Khemia / Unknown Pleasure Records, 2019) and their subsequent follow up, Chimères (Manic Depression, 2020). Originally a three
piece before the departure of guitarist Theo Fantuz after their second album, the project then focused on refining their sound and energy through alternative projects and more EPs before adding a new member ahead of their latest opus. The band currently consists of Mathis Kolkoz (Vocals, Guitars), Coco Thiburs (Bass) and Thom Mayor
(Synths, Guitars).

Fueled by cold bass lines and synthesizers of yesteryear, French post-punk and black romanticism, Blind Delon shatters genres and styles to create an evolved strain of synthpunk that wears its influences proudly while mutating into something totally new. La Métamorphose represents a fresh direction - a heavy, post-metal sound that’s full of emotion and raw intensity. 'Le Crépuscule' opens the album with a hard hitting piece that commences the experience perfectly. Next up, the group kicks things into high gear with the speedy, heavy-synth play of 'La Violence' featuring vocals by Fivequestionmarks, followed by 'La Mort', a blackened post-punk cut
featuring the one and only Curses. Label head Maenad Veyl makes a guest appearance on the fourth track, 'L’Homme', which drifts into deep experimental melancholy with a cinematic feel.

Keeping with this mood is the powerful 'L’Affront' featuring The KVB, which descends further into darkness before resurrecting with the immense feelings of 'Le Sarcasme'. Track seven, 'La Noyade', drills into the skull with growling vocals and menacing synths which bleed nicely into 'La Foule', slowing things back down with a subtle yet lingering sense of dread. French project Poison Point arrive on 'L’Envie' which moves guitars back to the forefront for a raucous ballad that sets up the final piece and title track, 'La Métamorphose', the glorious grand finale of an album teeming with emotion and begging to be played again
and again.

'Be A Rebel Remixed' versammelt erstmals alle offiziellen Versionen des New Order Tracks 'Be A Rebel' auf einer physischen Veröffentlichung, ergänzt um brandneue Remixe von Arthur Baker, JakoJako, Mark Reeder und Melawati. The very young Paris based Rémi Lauvergne signed some of the best post-punk and dreamy synthwave tracks digitally released in 2022. Oráculo Records put them all together and asked his usual partner in crime Skelesys to remix “Idole”, one of the very best tracks included on this mini- album. You could expect all genre classical approaches as repetitive drums, cold melodies and mesmerizing cavernous vocals. The whole thing is a gem for any modern darkwave collector.

Known for a series of beautiful records released on some of the best labels of the past years (Comeme, Dark Entries, Cititrax, Pinkman), Romanian producer and DJ Miruna Boruzescu aka Borusiade knows how to create ethereal tracks, somewhere between post-wave, techno and industrial vibes.

"Purge", the new EP for Tripalium Corp, is about heart-break in forced isolation, when the only way to stay sane is purging through music and lyrics. From the 80s synth of "Let Go" to the experimental ten-minutes-trip "Haunted Evolution", these five tracks are talking about of one's coping systems in extreme emotional situations, hope and power to move on and last but not least, learned lessons and empowerment.

With their first EP "Handprint Negatives", the quartet Ha The Unclear messes things up with a surprising punk insouciance and a great sensitive intelligence.

The track "Paperboats" is a model of explosive composition, accompanied by a climbing imagination like psychedelic ivy and, let's say it, a bit surreal. Let's get carried away by the madness and the genius of the group which releases this track to accompany the release of their EP.

This is Cobra Club Records with their first ever release. The Marie EP, featuring two originals by The Hague youngsters Sterk Water sporting repetitive minimalism, Dutch lyrics, early 80's electronica and lo-fi minimal wave on Marie and Zonder Te Voelen. Legowelt and Betonkust are on remix duties. West-coast legend Legowelt obviously closed his curtains for this pitch dark mix for Marie and Betonkust makes you want to put on your ugliest pair of sunglasses with his trancey translation of Zonder Te Voelen.

A compilation of Minimal Wave from around the world ‘79-‘85. »The Hidden Tapes« features rare, unreleased, and licensed tracks from as far as Japan and the former Yugoslavia. Most of the bands on this compilation recorded on 4-track tape in their bedroom studios while two of them went further to collaborate by sending tapes through the mail. The sounds on this record range from raw proto-industrial to naive danceable Belgradian new wave, to filmic synthesizer music to more complex, vocal-driven melodic synthpop.

For Zylva, creating is a form of healing. In 2020, the producer, illustrator, and poet found herself struggling with her mental wellbeing: a fresh arrival in locked-down Berlin, and newly heartbroken in a city known for its harsh winters and fleeting connections, Zylva imagined a place for hope, creating her debut album "Poems from the Dark".

Originally put together by a couple of Belgian Joy Division experts to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the sadly missed Ian Curtis-and the year that the Ian Curtis Movie began to be made. Now the movie is out to much critical acclaim. This album contains extremely rare audio interviews with all members of Joy Division - some of which have never seen the light of day before plus spoken word contribution on one number from Martin Hannett and a rare Martin Hannett interview. The interview sections are interspersed with superb live performances from various venues through the career of the band including rarities from Dutch and Belgian concert performances and a couple of rare alternative studio outtakes. Puerta Negra delivers amazing industrial breaks covered in a very simple but extremely effective by funky bass lines perfectly finished by ensoniq style super synth leads culminated by harsh raged vocals sung in castillan language. This is for sure one of the most fresh and brilliant modern ebm work coming from the states recently. In a true celebration of Italian electronic music from across the generations, Bosconi is honoured to present unreleased works from the legendary Alexander Robotnick. A true titan of Florentine music who helped define the Italo disco scene with a glittering run of evergreen club classics, Robotnick is still as creative now in his 70s as he was when first firing off his trademark arpeggios in the early 1980s.
For a few years now Robotnick, real name Maurizio Dami, has mainly released new or previously unreleased music via his own Hot Elephant Music. As such, we're thrilled to present three original tracks on vinyl, cut hot and ready to set a disco alight. Transcending the trappings of retro-fetishism, vintage this or old-skool that, the tracks on this 12" could be called techno or electro as easily as Italo - it's quite simply impeccable dance music as delivered by a master craftsman.
Adding to the sense of occasion celebrating the foundations of the Italian scene, we're equally thrilled to welcome Marco Passarani to remix Robotnick's 'The Hidden Game'. His appropriately titled 'Legacy' mix operates as an alternate version in the traditional style, holding true to the essence of the original while offering a slightly altered perspective. It's a distinct mix with Passarani's own distinctive Italo flair plain to hear - if anything his version sounds more retro than the original - but it's still very much invested in what Robotnick created to begin with.
Given the influence both these artists have had on the musical culture our own label is built on, this release holds a special place in our hearts, and we're excited to be sharing it with the world, where the throbbing basslines and sparkling pads can work their magic under the disco ball in a thousand dimly lit dance spots.

Slovenia multimedia, electronic and rock group Borghesia formed back in 1982 from members of an underground theatre group that was known as FV-112/15. They also ran their own alternative club and had an illicit, illegal aesthetic based around anything taboo, banned or prohibited in the country at the time, much like the likes of Front 242 and Nitizer Ebb. Rugged City was an album first released in 1988 and only in Yugoslavia. It collects the best tunes from previous albums Escorts And Models and No Hope No Fear and is a perfect overview of their powerful mutant sound.

Absolute Body Control is back with new material after more than ten years. The legendary minimal-synth-wave duo formed in 1980 by Dirk Ivens (The Klinik, Dive, Sonar) and joined a bit later by Eric van Wonterghem (Insekt, Monolith) has been working together again and got finished a new EP. Six songs that fuse their classic sound with a theme that reflects the times of change that humanity is going through.
