Based on an unbelievable true story, Roofman follows Jeffrey Manchester (Tatum), an Army veteran and struggling father who turns to robbing McDonald's restaurants by cutting holes in their roofs, earning him the nickname: Roofman. The film's score was composed by Grizzly Bear multi-instrumentalist Christopher Bear, with contributions from The War on Drugs' Jon Natchez. Christopher Bear is a drummer and multi- instrumentalist member of the Brooklynbased indie-rock group Grizzly Bear. He continues developing his independent career, most recently working on arranging soundtracks for the HBO series High Maintenance, and scoring the 2023 film Past Lives alongside his bandmate Daniel Rossen.

Christopher Carmichael

Christopher Carmichael has written and produced music for over 50 feature films and television shows, both in the US and abroad. In addition, his music has been heard in over a dozen international stage productions and attractions, including the closing ceremonies for the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics. Chris has also had the fortune to work with outstanding film makers such as John Madden, Fred Cavayé, and Werner Herzog. After attending the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Christopher moved to Los Angeles and began his career working alongside Klaus Badelt (Pirates of the Caribbean, Gladiator). Since then, Christopher has recorded and produced music around the world, from the studios of Abbey Road in London to the stages of the National Center for the Performing Arts in Beijing.

Matthias Hoene

Matthias is a multi-award winning film, TV and branded content director. He made his film directing debut in 2012 with StudioCanal’s horror/comedy, Cockneys vs. Zombies, which premiered at London’s FrightFest and has become a British cult classic. He then helmed the martial arts actioner, Enter the Warriors Gate, starring Dave Bautista and written by Robert Mark Kamen and Luc Besson for EuropaCorp. For his first TV project he directed the first season of HBO Max’s adventure romp, Theodosia, with Cottonwood Media. He recently released Little Bone Lodge starring Joely Richardson.

A Banquet is a visually arresting, slow-burning psychological horror that uses subtle supernatural elements to create tension within a family in the midst of a breakdown, exploiting the complicated bond between three generations of mothers and daughters. Variety likens it to Lars Von Tries’ Melancholia and Jeff Nichol’s Take Shelter. ‘A Banquet’ sees composer CJ Mirra reunite with Scottish director Ruth Paxton for this her feature length debut following their festival favorite BBC short Be Still My Beating Heart, in Ruth’s words:

“CJs score for A Banquet is an expression of luxurious tragedy. The work is evocative, menacing and beautifully haunting all at once. A lingering body of powerful compositions: the work is not only exquisitely atmospheric, but definitive of the film itself. I treasure my director-composer partnership with CJ and his fundamental contribution to our film’s unique identity”

For the score, which includes some production by Dan Carey and vocals by One Little Independent’s Tusks, Mirra utilised a rare a synthesiser called a Swarmatron and a 70s synth called Synthi, played through guitar amps for percussive and rhythmic elements. Mirra also experimented with woodwind in an unconventional way, both elements create the suffocating and anxious atmosphere that the film delivers.

Mirra says of the film, “A Banquet’ is not a straight up horror film. There's elements of the genre, but we wanted the music to really keep a sense of constant anxiety, of never feeling settled, even if the main focus is on beauty or tenderness. The film is visually laced with so much texture and we wanted to reflect that in the instrumentation.”

Clark’s soundtrack for Adam Egypt Mortimer’s psychological horror thriller Daniel Isn’t Real is a darkly euphoric dreamscape that evokes both rapture and dread. The Brighton-based British musician’s mutated orchestra score, set for international release by Deutsche Grammophon on 6 December 2019, plays its part in telling the tale of the mayhem unleashed after college freshman Luke is taken captive by his charismatic imaginary childhood friend, the increasingly malevolent Daniel. Daniel Isn’t Real (from the producers of cult hits Mandy and Color Out Of Space) scored rave reviews following its premiere last March at SXSW in Austin, Texas. Miles Robbins – son of Tim Robbins and Susan Sarandon – who plays the adult Luke, and Patrick Schwarzenegger – son of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver – as Daniel were respectively hailed as “brilliant” and “stunning” by thehollywoodnews Variety, meanwhile, judged the film to be “stylishly crafted” and “first-rate in all departments”. Clark has also produced re-mixes for the likes of Massive Attack, Depeche Mode, Max Richter, Battles and Nils Frahm.

 For the score, Mansell actually captured the sound
of singing plants via the PlantWave MIDI Sprout
machine, in keeping with the vegetal themes of the

mention unsettling at times,” says Clint. “Paranoia,

Stationed alone on the lunar base Sarang with only a robot named Gerty (voiced by Kevin Spacey), Sam is two weeks away from completing his three-year assignment, when he begins feeling out of place… Former ‘Pop Will Eat Itself’ frontman Clint Mansell - now based in Los Angeles - has become the go-to composer for independent Hollywood cinema. Producing peerless soundtracks to award winning Darren Arronofsky films Requiem For A Dream, The Fountain and The Wrestler.

Doom (2005) is a science-fiction film based on the iconic video game series, starring Karl Urban and Dwayne Johnson. The film is centered around a group of marines sent on a rescue mission to a facility on Mars, which quickly turns into a game of survival when the team encounters demonic creatures. This release marks the first vinyl release of Clint Mansell's score, which comes as a 2-LP gatefold set pressed on Black Ice vinyl, with original artwork and a poster by illustrator Micha Huigen.

Featuring 38 tracks (as opposed to the digital release, which is only 15 tracks), This is the definitive Doom Patrol Season 1 soundtrack featuring music by Clint Mansell and Kevin Kiner. The score is fantastic, mixing electronics and more traditional string-based score elements. The central theme is one of the best in recent years, and the score is moody and magnificent yet also fun and playful. It is the perfect accompaniment to the action on screen.

Based on a short-story by the master of horror and fantasy, author Clive Barker (Hellraiser), Rawhead Rex is set in 1980’s rural Ireland. The Demon, alive for millennia and trapped in the depths of hell, is unleashed on the sleepy local farming community. Remembered faintly through pre-Christian myth, the only one that can stop Rawhead's bloody rampage is the historian, desperately racing against the time.
This is the first ever release for the soundtrack by Colin Towns, one of Europe’s most prolific film, television and theatre composers, but also a pianist, songwriter, arranger, producer and collaborator, known for The Puppet Masters, Space Trackers, Maybe Baby, Foyle’s War, Doc Martin, Pie In The Sky.
"The first film I scored was Full Circle which starred Mia Farrow and is still in the BFI top ten for best score for horrorfilms. I felt that film was more of a dark scary mystery. Rawhead Rex on the other hand was clearly a horror film 100%. I visited the film set in Ireland during the filming to take in the atmosphere and meet the actors after which I decided to record the music at CTS in London with a sixty piece orchestra plus electronics. I have always orchestrated my own work and had a wild time with Rawhead which is what I really love doing". Colin Towns

The film is an outer space road movie starring Dennis Hopper, Stephen Dorff, Debi Mazar and Charles Dance. Independent space trucker John Canyon, his reluctant waitress-turned-bride, Cindy, and up-and-coming company trucker Mike carry a shipment of sex dolls which turn out to be quite deadly, especially in the hands of disgraced scientist-turned-space-pirate Captain Macanudo, who wants to use them to settle an old score. The score by Colin Towns plays like a crossover between a road movie and a space opera, featuring the powerhouse performance of the Munich Symphony Orchestra with some country and bluegrass interludes to represent the trucking aspect of the film. A special mention must be made of Phil Todd’s alto saxophone solos that lend some class to Charles Dance’s romantic scenes. And, of course, as with most Stuart Gordon movies, the film can go into crazy overdrive—just as we can expect from the director of RE-ANIMATOR.

Behold the might of Rodan, the giant monster from the sky! In 1956, Toho unleashed their first colour kaiju picture: RODAN, directed by Ishiro Honda and produced by Tomoyuki Tanaka, is a terrifying tale from the creators of the original Godzilla that sees a giant Pteranodon rise from a deep underground cave after being disturbed by miners. Like the Big G, Rodan has mutated to excessive size after being exposed to nuclear radiation, subsequently soaring free above Kyushu to cause as much mayhem as possible as the JSDF do their best to protect the island from his bloodthirsty rampaging. It was inevitable that the man behind the music of Godzilla would also take on scoring RODAN, and the great Akira Ifukube created a score with a solemn edge as with Godzilla, which makes the music of RODAN fit in the larger universe while allowing it to feel unique to the character. For the main theme, Ifukube introduces a malevolent low piano and brass phrase before cointerpointing it with horns to create a howling menace worthy of Rodan. In contrast, beautiful but melancholy material represents the carnage the monster has brought upon the Earth; in a more upbeat mode, the composer includes another of his jaunty and jazzy marches for the JDSF in the guise of "Get Rodan". It's another Toho triumph from the great maestro Ifukube! (Charlie Brigden)

He redefined the sound of terror with his scores for IT CHAPTER 1 & IT CHAPTER 2 and last year's INVISIBLE MAN. To round the trifecta, though, he also has a playful side, which is no more present than in his ode to Williams and Goldsmith in SHAZAM! Just like the film, it is an immediate burst of energy, excitement and full of 80's filmmaking sincerity.

It’s difficult being a stepmother at any time, so it’s going to be super-hard when your predecessor commits suicide and your partner has to be somewhere else, leaving the two whippersnappers behind for you to look after. This is what happens to Grace (Riley Keough, HOLD THE DARK) in THE LODGE, the unsettling film from Veronika Franz and Severin Fiala (GOODNIGHT MOMMY). Scoring Grace’s ordeal is Danny Bensi and Saunder Jurriaans, who previously brought screaming sonic landscapes to THE AUTOPSY OF JANE DOE and THE GIFT. Death Waltz Recording Company is proud to present the score to Lucio Fulci’s 1977 Giallo tour de force, SETTE NOTTE IN NERO (a.k.a. Seven Notes in Black and The Psychic ). In this elegantly chic late '70s Giallo, Italian gore-meister Fulci (pre-Zombie Flesh Eaters) takes the viewer on a thrilling voyage through the psychic visions of a woman who is desperately trying to exonerate her husband of murder. The illustrious Italian composing team of Franco Bixio, Fabio Frizzi, and Vince Tempera were bought on board to provide the score. Featuring their iconic guitar and keyboard work (including some well-placed synth stabs), but also including fat groovy bass lines, orchestral arrangements, and killer percussion, offset a little by menacing celeste motifs and sprinkled with occasional slinky sax. Tate Taylor’s excellent psychological horror film MA finds Octavia Spencer offering suspicious generosity with some warning signs — a classic tale of what happens when something seems too good to be true. Composer Gregory Tripi’s fantastic, mostly electronic score is laced with the type of ambient beauty, ominous energy, and berserk passages that a story this unhinged requires. He uses analog synths, along with elements such as a live cello, pitched wine glasses and a ukulele, made from a bento box, to craft a score that, like Spencer’s Ma character, lulls you in with a false sense of security before stopping you cold with a deeply crushing sense of terror that hits you at your core.

Mixing more traditional electronic and orchestral elements with Cubase instruments created especially for this project and fused with female voices singing in a language developed by Zimmer himself. The result is nothing short of jaw-dropping. It's otherworldly and completely enveloping, Much like the sands on Arrakis. Joel P West uses a delicate and inventive mix of Chinese instruments like Tanggu drums and Ehru, mixed with Western symphonic instruments, to symbolically build on the themes and conflicts of the film. Beautifully bridging Shang-Chi’s epic journey from San Francisco to Ta Lo, the score is absolutely gorgeous from beginning to end.

Joseph Trapanese's score (Tron: Legacy, Straight Outta Compton) is a moody, mysterious piece of work, full of space, quiet, contemplative moments but with an unnerving sense of dread below the surface that gives just the right amount of unease whilst listening.

Mondo is proud to present the premiere physical release of the soundtrack to the MSX2 version of the classic game that started it all: METAL GEAR.

The Metal Gear series began in 1987 in Japan, and while it took decades for this original MSX2 version to make its official debut in the United States (the Ultra Games NES version is disavowed by series creator Hideo Kojima) it is considered one of the essential games to come out of the 80's. While not the first to implement Stealth mechanics in gaming, METAL GEAR certainly popularized the genre, and served as the launch pad for a decades spanning franchise of games considered some of the greatest of all time.

Jesse Malcolm Sweet’s haunting sci-fi web series EXODE tells the story of celestial cartographer David, who is trying to save his family from death on a malfunctioning spaceship. His only help comes from a wise AI named Leo. Montreal-based Le Matos (TURBO KID, JOIN US) provides a richly textured electronic score that is key to the story, deftly cultivating feelings of wistfulness, loneliness, and mortality up against the unapologetic indifference of outer space.

The kinetic title theme is classic Le Matos sent into space — a majestically tempered track with a driving rhythm section and searingly dreamy synthesizers. The end credits theme alters that, nimbly blending in the sense of foreboding. The remaining tracks find Le Matos tapping into the range of introspection and terror. David feels as he tries desperately to reconnect with his family. Tender melodies morph into weary synth pads, pulsating arps, crystalline synth dreams, dissonant sonic expressions, and chest-thumping percussion. After a successful collaboration on the SUMMER OF 84 soundtrack, the exquisite Computer Magic rejoins Le Matos for the wistful slow-burner “The Sounds of Nora.” It all makes for an extraordinary adventure.

If you think about it, David isn’t alone with just Leo. He has Le Matos’ skillfully composed and evocative electronic soundtrack, which won the 2017 Melbourne Web Fest jury prize for Best Original Score. This is a companion that would make us all feel more comfortable tackling the beauty and terror of our own daily lives.

Hypersensitive horrors from outer space are back in John Krasinski’s A QUIET PLACE PART II. Returning from the first picture is Emily Blunt (SICARIO), with Cillian Murphy (28 DAYS LATER) and Djimon Hounsou (GLADIATOR) now along for the ride as the Abbott family look for further survivors in their post-apocalyptic nightmare, only to face a further ordeal as they band together with a survivalist desperate to avoid the gruesome fate that befell his family. Returning to score the second film is Marco Beltrami (SCREAM), who creates a similarly terrifying yet beautiful soundscape for the nightmarish experiences of the Abbotts. Beltrami elects
