Sven Libaek - The Set Soundtrack

... Cult Australian Sexploitation soundtrack with rare photos and extensive liner notes.

Based on the novel written by Australian actor Roger Ward (Mad Max, Stone, Turkey Shoot) The Set was a highly controversial film upon its release in 1970 in which it's alternate attitudes towards sexuality challenged the traditional mores of the mainstream society.
The film, now regarded as a lost piece of Australian genre cinema, is considered the precursor to the OZ Sex-Wave films of the following decade (Fantasm, Libido, Naked Bunyip, Felicity etc.)

Scored by the highly respected and unique jazz original Sven Libaek, the music has also been unjustly overlooked from any recent focus on Australian cinema. After scoring several television scores and documentaries in the 1960s (Nature Walkabout, To Ride A White Horse, Man and A Mural) The Set was Libaek's first commission to score a feature film soundtrack. Incorporating elements of Baroque and sunshine pop as well as moody mod jazz, The Set is an incredible time-piece of Swinging Sydney.

Featuring Libaek regulars and top rank Australian jazz players, (Don Burrows, John Sangster, Errol Buddle etc) the music to the The Set was once a long forgotten piece of Australian B-cinema which has now been fully restored and presented again in all its original glory.

... Including rare photos, original newspaper cuttings and extensive liner notes from Australian cult cinema expert & Mu Meson archive curator Jaimie Leonarder.

Johnny Jewel - Don’t Come Back From The Moon (OST)

Music From The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack. The music of Johnny Jewel, Glass Candy, Chromatics, Mirage, & Symmetry all articulate different visions for different moments — the pure ecstasy of a Saturday night out; unrestrained romantic devotion between vulnerable people; walks on wet streets on foggy nights; isolated twilight meditations. They make music for all moments, all feelings, all stories — in films & in life. Theirs is natural soundtrack music. Bruce Thierry Cheung brings their cinematic music to celluloid to tell the story of a family’s struggles in Don’t Come Back from the Moon, starring James Franco, Rashida Jones, & Jeffrey Wahlberg. The soundtrack mixes new & beloved work from the Italians family. Classic cuts such as Chromatics’ revered “Cherry” & “The River” (alongside the newer “Magazine”) & the disco-bliss of Mirage’s “Lady Operator” are alongside cues from Johnny’s instrumental solo album Digital Rain, all remastered to articulate the resonance of the visuals. Joining them is new music from Johnny & Symmetry. “Bicycle” finds Symmetry taking their Tangerine Dream and John Carpenter vibes into a haunting modern R&B space. Cues like “Street Lights” & “Dusk” use twinkling piano keys & glassy, minimal synthesizers to craft ambient electronic bliss. “Death Valley” is a foreboding & atmosphere track, laced with spectres of fading memories. Once you go to the moon with these songs, you’ll never want to come back.

David Whittaker - Shadow Of The Beast

Beastly sounds for a zombie nation as classic 80s gaming soundtrack Shadow of the Beast gets debut vinyl edition with a recording taken from the original platform game, and new artwork from acclaimed illustrator Keith Rankin.

Composed by David Whittaker for the 1989 Amiga platformer of the same name, Shadow of the Beast sees its first ever vinyl release courtesy of the UK's Lag Records, presented in also its first mastered edition as directly taken from the original game system.

A prolific VGM composer, Whittaker holds more gaming soundtracks to his name than any other, with titles such as Lazy Jones to his name, as (in)famously sampled for the 1999 club hit Zombie Nation.

Shadow of the Beast remains a prime example of his pioneering hands-on approach, programming music directly with instrumental samples of his own on a Korg M1 synthesizer. The tunes make for a singular combination of Spaghetti Western-style tension mixed with world beats. Tracks like The Plains play with harder rhythms like warped speed techno, while a hard-to-miss melancholy pervades the Underground suite.

The fiendishly difficult Shadow of the Beast itself was an interesting example of game design for its time, recorded at a frame rate to match arcade machines as opposed to monitors, and loaded with a 128 colour palette. Two sequels later followed in the 1990s, along with a 2016 remake for the Playstation console.

The soundtrack comes ready for a 2019 audience with mastering courtesy of Jerome Schmitt at the AirLab, and brand new artwork from acclaimed illustrator and musician Keith Rankin in collaboration with artist Ellen Thomas. Shadow of the Beast will also come on transparent purple vinyl, in standard LP format.

THE LIMIÑANAS - One Blood Circle

aken from the movie ‘Le Bel Été’, written and directed by Pierre Creton, ‘One Blood Circle’ is the main theme of the soundrack and features French pop legend Etienne Daho. The B-side features a cover by The Limiñanas of the all-time French classic ‘Non Non Rien N’a Changé’ from Les Poppys.

Lionel Limiñana about writing this soundtrack:
"We met Pierre during the Shadow People tour, he came to the concert and wrote to us asking for music for his film "Le Bel Été". Pierre sent me the script. I thought I didn't have time to work because of the tour but I took a three-day break to give it a try. I wrote a theme and then two, three...... I had a work base and I was able to continue at the hotel or in the band's van, which explains why the music is very electronic. I invited Ivan Telefunken, Pascal Comelade's Catalan guitarist, to play on some melodies. When we arrived in St Malo for La Route du Rock festival we met Etienne Daho with whom we had wanted to work for a long time. We played the script to Etienne and the demo of "One Blood Circle", the main theme of " Le Bel Été". Etienne worked on the text and quickly returned to the studio in Paris to record his voice and choirs. The O.S.T. was done."

Graeme Miller/steve Shill - The Moomins

Winter Wunderland Sleeve Edition

Imagine, if you will, a foreboding homemade electro-acoustic, new age, synth driven, proto-techno, imaginary world music Portastudio soundtrack for a Polish-made animated fantasy based on a Finnish modern folk tale and created for German and Austrian TV, composed in 1982 by two politically driven post-punk theatre performers from a shared house in Leeds!
.
To even the most perspicacious and adventurous of alternative music fans the genuine bloodline of this previously unreleased record already begins to sound like an entire record collection in one sitting. It would be surprising if this project's ambitious and exotic credentials didn't tick at least one box on your musical matrix and without one drop of unnecessary nostalgic hyperbole this project already sounds like the perfect fantasy record that you've never heard. Alternatively we could just say The Moomins and, for many, things would instantly begin to make perfect sense.

>From the same social landscape as Gang Of Four, The Mekons and Impact Theatre Co-operative - armed with a Wasp synthesiser, an ocarina and a cassette of the Robinson Crusoe music taped off the TV, Graeme Miller and Steve Shill used minimum means for maximum mayhem, instilling over 35 years of dreamlike illusory fuzziness and freakiness into the memories of a generation of school age TV addicts waiting for the next 5 minute fix of outernational fuzzy felt folklore. Collected here, all in one place for the first time, Finders Keepers in close collaboration with the original composers finally bring the original homemade micro-melodies and reintroduce them to a musical landscape where fans of vintage electronics, concrète tape effects, pocket percussion and domestic synths are finally ready to be reunited with the magnetic music of Moominvalley.

Armando Sciascia - Sea Fantasy

Pheon is a new label started by Jonny Trunk with James Pianta from Votary / Roundtable. Both have a love of obscure library music, film music and jazz. Using those musical fields as a starting point, the label will be issuing very limited, vinyl only short runs of desirable and obscure LPs, compilations and new old discoveries.

OVERVIEW: The first Pheon Records LP release is a rare trip underwater, with one of the masters of Italian film music and library, Armando Sciascia.

DESCRIPTION: Famed for his mondo scores and experimental library music, Armando Sciascia reached a peak in 1972 with this experimental, modern classical, plugged-in dive down to the murky seabed. The twelve superb library cues, taken from the original master tapes move like a jellyfish from beautiful calm drifts to wild electronic tension and all points in between. Respected by many as the finest example of underwater conceptual composing, this has to be one of the greatest examples of not just library music but also the sub aquatic sounds. Think De Roubaix, Jacques Cousteau and bathtime. At last this amazing LP is available to mere mortals. But be quick.

Klaus Schulz - Dark Side Of The Moog Vol.6 The Final Dat

The collaboration between influential German artists Klaus Schulze and Pete Namlook led to the famous The Dark Side of the Moog series. The sixth part in the series offers more of their breeding music, although it’s one of the more experimental records from the series. The Final DAT starts with distorted text fragments and during the different parts of this recording an amount of techno is added to the musical layers. The volume shows the different directions the two composers headed two during their careers.

The pioneering composer Klaus Schulze created over 60 albums during his career, which started back in 1969. Pete Namlook is another German composer, who played an important role in the increasing popularity of electronic music.

Abul Mogard - Kimberlin

Abul Mogard

Kimberlin

12inchELP0049-COL
Ecstatic
23.10.2019

Colour Vinyl

Visionary synthesist Abul Mogard renders a darkly sublime soundtrack for ‘Kimberlin’ , an experimental film about the Isle of Portland on the English south coast, which coincidentally doubles up as metaphor for the mood of an increasingly inward-looking UK.
Taking its name from the local word for an outsider or “foreigner”, the short film ‘Kimberlin’ was filmed on location during the months following the advisory referendum of 2016 which lead to the current, purgatory state of “Brexit”. Combining mostly wordless, lingering shots of the Isle of Portland’s bleak and rugged landscape with Abul Mogard’s washed out but richly evocative music, made with manipulated field recordings, modular synth and layered Farfisa organ, the project came to reflect a sense of (be)longing, loneliness and outsiderness that also perhaps uncannily mirrors the putative collective feeling since that darkly historic vote, over three years ago.
Taking cues from the evocative poetry of lifelong islander, stonemason and poet Cecil “Skylark” Durston (1910-1996), as well as a news report on the discovery of a mysterious cinema found interred by foliage in the Isle’s cave systems, the merging of image and sound speak to their subject in an organic, impressionistic manner that leaves billowing room for imagination.
Mogard’s soundtrack opens out with a slow-burning, greyscale iridescence, tenderly manipulating the sound of fog horns and bird calls in briny modular spray and gloaming Farfisa organ swells that, when combined with song titles such as ‘Flooding Tide’ and ‘Playing On The Stones’, serve to evocatively connote the film’s subject matter.
The results can be heard as echoes in the digital future of an England that’s now difficult to grasp, most hauntingly transposing the meaning of Cecil “Skylark” Durston’s description of the Isle of Portland as a place where “quarry bells no longer ring, except in old men’s dreams” to the ever-present, never-ending riddle of Brexit and its generationally devastating bleakness.

Francis Lai - The Love Mates (Madly) - OST

Limited LP (300ex). Included an essay by Nicolas Magenham discussing the film and the score based on new comments by Francis Lai and Christian Gaubert.

In collaboration with Musiques & Solutions, Music Box Records is pleased to present the LP release of the original motion picture soundtrack of Roger Kahane's The Love Mates (Madly, 1970) composed by Francis Lai, Academy Award Winning composer of Love Story and A Man and a Woman and conducted by Christian Gaubert.

After the commercial success of Love Story, Alain Delon chose Francis Lai, the famous collaborator of director Claude Lelouche to work on the project. The score features many neoromantic pieces that allowed Francis Lai’s melodic talent to shine (combined with Christian Gaubert’s ultra-elegant arrangements). Francis Lai and Christian Gaubert demonstrated the full extent of their talents with The Love Mates (Madly).

Francis Lai, born in Nice on April 26, 1932 and died on November 7, 2018 in Paris, is a French composer and musician, specialized in film music, credits and songs. He is the author of the music for the films Un homme et une femme and Love Story. For the latter film, he received the Oscar for best film music in 1970.

Restored and remastered by Christophe Hénault, this special LP reissue, designed by David Marques with a beautiful original artwork by MRKS, is pressed on black vinyl.

Ben Babbitt - Paris Window: Original Score

Director Amanda Kramer’s prompts for composer Ben Babbitt’s soundtrack to her enigmatic film Paris Window read like magnetic fridge poetry – “warped ambient bumper muzak tension” – but the results skew closer to some hypnagogic contemporary noir: lulling, low-lit, and laced with lingering dread. Electronics, strings, and percussion swoon and seethe in heady mirages of dreams and delirium, romance and menace. The narrative it accompanies is equally opaque and out of time: two eccentric siblings psychologically unravel through divergent fixations, one obsessed with the hypnotic infomercials of a mysterious self-help institute while the other falls in love with an ambiguous doppelganger.
Babbitt’s background scoring experiential video games (Kentucky Route Zero) and collaborating with exploratory songwriters (Angel Olsen, Weyes Blood, Eartheater) is evident in his versatility and finesse, flowing fluidly between minimal and maximal modes. Like all dynamic film music, the pieces weave a story of their own. Serene synthetic swells decay into murmuring television static and eerie vocal fragments; close-mic’d drones turn acidic then claustrophobic, mirroring sleep paralysis transformed into panic. Babbitt builds a window into a surreal world, seen through shadows and smeared, street-lit glass.

Èlg - Les Particules

Original motion picture soundtrack to the Blaise Harrison film.

Since our first listening, we've been obsessed by the strange beauty of this small pop track that seems to be fallen on a dark hole. After having the chance to see the film before its screening at Cannes Festival La Quinzaine des Réalisateurs, we decided to release this music. The LP comes in a beautiful gatefold sleeve designed by Coline Sunier and Charles Mazé.

Since 2004, Èlg, has drawn concentric sound spirals made of musical pipes and entrails. He builds improbable bridges between concrete music and french song debris, between cryptic electronic tribal incantations and russian doll dancing in Plutonia. When not in french, language is reduced to alien babble of an old man, a child, a dusty revenant, an epileptic bard, a peaceful messenger...

Èlg, is 1/2 Opéra Mort, 1/3 Orgue Agnès, 1/3 Reines d'Angleterre, 1/2 Schultz et Èlg.

Tujiko Nuriko - Kuro (OST)

PAN inaugurate Entopia, their highly promising, soundtrack-focussed sister label, with the
tremulous beauty and dreamy ambient detachment of Tujiko Noriko’s ‘Kuro (OST)’
Realised alongside musicians Sam Britton and Will Worsely, experimental J-popstar and composer
Tujio Noriko conceived the ‘Kuro’ soundtrack for the eponymous 2017 film which she wrote and
directed with Joji Koyama, and in which she also plays the lead role. The film follows the tale
of Romi, a Japanese woman living in the suburbs of Paris with her paraplegic lover Milou. Told
through personal anecdotes and myths, the story soon turns ominous, reflected as the narrated
story and the visual story diverge to reveal an ambiguous space which is subtly coloured
and accentuated by the soundtrack’s suggestive daubs of ambient electronics and burnished
instrumental tones.
The music was composed during the editing of the film, mostly by Tujiko, but with integral
assistance from both Sam Britton and Will Worsely, and her co-director Joji Koyama. Perhaps
glibly known as “the Japanese Björk” for her spellbinding, etheric touch, Tujiko brings a wealth of
experience to helm in the soundtrack, steering fathoms wide of her pop-related output to work
with filigree, layered electronics, organs that are occasionally and imperceptibly meshed with
diegetic, rustling sounds from the film. The resulting atmosphere is intoxicatingly gentle yet
elusive, evoking themes of claustrophobia and haunting beauty that also lie behind the imagery.
‘Kuro (OST)’ is an ideal first release for Entopia, the soundtrack-focussed offshoot of PAN. Taking
its meaning in context of Ekistics - the idea of world-building - and in respect of creative
communities both visual and music-oriented, Entopia proposes a promising new space - neither
utopian nor dystopic - where the boundaries between installation works, theatre, dance and
fashion will fall, just as they have with PAN the parent label.

Original Soundtrack - Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas

16

Hunter S. Thompson’s weird and hallucinatory book Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas was in 1998 translated to the screen by director Terry Gilliam, and stars Johnny Depp and Benicio del Toro as Raoul Duke and Dr. Gonzo. The film details the duo’s journey through Las Vegas as their initial journalistic intentions devolve into an exploration of the city under the influence of psychoactive substances. The music is perfectly fitting in the psychedelic story of the movie. It contains songs used in the film with sound bites of the film before each song. The psychedelic and classic rock songs on the soundtrack includes songs from Big Brother and the Holding Company, Jefferson Airplane, Bob Dylan, Buffalo Springfield, and the Dead Kennedys. The movie Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas was a financial failure, but later gained a cult following and was eventually included in many “best of” movie lists.

The 21st anniversary Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas edition is available for the first time on vinyl, as a limited individually numbered edition of 2500 copies pressed on “Bat Country” black vinyl. This release got a laser etched D-side and secret inscriptions in the run-out grooves. Besides it contains an exclusive fold-out movie poster.

BRUNO NICOLAI - Défense de savoir

Transversales Disques proudly presents the first LP reissue of Défense de savoir (L’uomo a destra basso nella fotografia) original soundtrack written by italian composer Bruno Nicolai.
During the Giallo boom of the early 70’s, a lot of French film directors started working with maestro Ennio Morricone. French director Nadine Trintignant decided to hire the maestro’s
musical orchestrator and collaborator Bruno Nicolai to compose the score of her fourth movie, a political thriller starring her husband Jean-Louis Trintigant. Recorded at Morricone’s Ortophonic studio in Rome, this OST is undoubtedly the most
underrated Bruno Nicolai’s soundtrack, probably because it was only released in France at the time. Presented here with previously unreleased tracks as an alternative to the rare original
french pressing. Limited Edition. Remastered from the original master tapes.

DARK STAR - Cryonics: 1989 - 1992

Deep-frozen for many decades, something is on the verge of being released from obscurity. Dark Star is the project of Wolfgang Reffert (Ger). In the late '80s through the early '90s he released a couple of albums that invoke the darkness of infinite space. Clearly influenced by '60s and '70s sci-fi, the mechanical grooves and spiraling synths bring to mind the worlds of Alien, The Forbidden Planet and Solaris.

Utilizing a less is more aesthetic, Dark Star breathtakingly soundtracked space travel to far away galaxies like no other. Rhythmic postpunk drums lay the foundation for slow, down-tuned spacerock that goes deep into industrial proto-techno-like territory, while always maintaining a sense of groove.

Resurrected from the days of yesteryear, Dark Star once again re-imagines the eternal harshness and emptiness surrounding spaceship Earth. Cyborgs, extraterrestrials and genetically modified creatures rejoice on the dancefoor!

This is a collection of Dark Star’s best material. Originally released on two cassettes and one CD. Mastered by Wouter Brandenburg. Photography by Rogier Houwen. Poetry by Alex Deforce.

Original Soundtrack - Outlander Season 4

Season Four of Outlander continues the story of time-travel 1960’s Claire Fraser and her 18th century husband Jamie Fraser as they try to make a home for themselves in the rough and dangerous ‘New World’ of America. The score to the series is composed by American film and television composer Bear McCreary (The Walking Dead, Cloverfield, Black Sails). The settings of the series were a challenge for the composer, because each culture and geographical location offers other potential musical influences for the score. The score supports all these different locations and he even used the banjo this time. As it was one of the most exhilarating creative challenges of his career you’ll hear the integration of both bagpipes, fierce Afro-Cuban polyrhythms and French baroque ornaments. Above all the typical folk music will set the tone for all the settings in the movie.

Outlander Season 4 is available as a limited edition of 500 individually numbered copies on coloured (gold & black mixed) vinyl. The package contains an insert.

One of the most critically acclaimed scores of 2013, UTOPIA SERIES 1's soundtrack was described by The Arts Desk as "Cristobal Tapia de Veer's cunning, menacing music'.

Coming out in September on DLP vinyl for the first time (and on limited yellow vinyl at that), the score features instruments ranging from a rare Chilean trutruka recorded in Borough tube station to the percussion sounds of a rhino turd from Zimbabwe! This one of the most eclectic and innovative TV scores in a long while and has been specially mastered for this vinyl release.

Fresh from recording the legendary Inner Space soundtrack, 1974 saw Sven Libaek embark on Solar Flares, an amazing library recording for Peer International UK.

Possibly best described as the companion piece to Inner Space, a polar vision in which this time the themes were inspired by the far reaches of 'Outer Space'. The LP release of the Original Motion Picture Soundtrack to "Yesterday"- Yesterday, directed by Danny Boyle, screenplay by Richard Curtis, story by Jack Barth and Richard Curtis, produced by Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner, Bernie Bellew, Matthew James Wilkinson, Richard Curtis, Danny Boyle. Yesterday, everyone knew The Beatles. Today, only Jack remembers their songs. He’s about to become a very big deal. From Academy Award®-winning director Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire, Trainspotting, 28 Days Later) and Richard Curtis, the Oscar-nominated screenwriter of Four Weddings and a Funeral, Love Actually and Notting Hill, comes a rock-n-roll comedy about music, dreams, friendship, and the long and winding road that leads to the love of your life. 4 star reviews across the board for the film with Empire saying "A glowing tribute to The Beatles and their music, this is both a toe-tapping pleasure to watch and a smart, occasionally scathing look at how we get things wrong."

GIANNI MARCHETTI - DISPOSTA A TUTTO (DANYB REVISIONS)

Gianni Marchetti is one of Italy's best kept secrets...
A composer with a long and elaborate list of writing credits in both pop music and movie soundtracks.
He penned proper anthems in Italy's post-war melodic tradition. Amongst his large and varied oeuvre, in 1977-1978 he composed and recorded the original soundtrack for the skin flick 'Disposta A Tutto'
A slow-burning mix of funky clavinets, scat vocals, wah wah guitars and sultry tenor sax lines, all tied together by a distinctly Italian sensibility.

Rather than fading into obscurity, the soundtrack became a prized collector's item for DJ's and rare groove enthusiasts.
In 2019, Heristal and Danilo Braca (AKA Dany B) are very proud to present a new version of 3 tracks from the Disposta A Tutto soundtrack, edited and extended for maximum dancefloor impact.

Ross Blake - Pretty En Rose Original Soundtrack

Fearlessly charting a journey into a world of mystery, Ross Blake's delirious original soundtrack to Pretty en Rose conjures up the glamorous milieu of its parent film, yet goes beyond to inhabit its own peculiar and poetic realm of the imagination.

Pretty en Rose was directed by underground auteur Angélique Bosio, and documents the career of cult Parisian fashion icon Fifi Chachnil. Blake and Bosio have been acquainted for some time following Blake's discovery of her earlier film Lilk Your Idols, which documented 'The Cinema of Transgression' in 80's-90's New York. Having then been similarly impressed by Blake's theatrical soundtracks and the experimental output of his former bands Buttonhead and Poino, she summarily enlisted him to provide a simpatico score to her film, a documentary that transcends Fifi Chachnil's diva persona, and looks behind the exotic veil of her idealised Parisian glamour-puss image to investigate the personality within.

Taking French musical themes and interweaving them with a plethora of influences ranging from Ennio Morricone to Angelo Badalementi, and Joe Meek to Angela Morley's Watership Down soundtrack, Blake creates a finely-wrought tapestry that exists on a plateau beyond kitsch and exotica, drifting effortlessly through realms of fantasy and hallucination. Nonetheless, the strains of luminaries such as Broadcast, The Advisory Circle and Basil Kirchin might make fitting comparisons for the elegant arrangements and golden filigree herein.

He was ably assisted in his mission by an assortment of guest artistes, including Dearbhla Minogue (The Drink / The Wharves) and Natalie Sharp (Lone Taxidermist / Gazelle Twin), who imbue the album with their ethereal and gymnastic vocals. Techno magician Karen Gwyer also contributes a compelling spoken word stream of consciousness to the track Karen Black, juxtaposed fragments of domestic gripery and film exposition. In exploring these tangents, the original film forms a jumping-off point for fresh adventure and ever more bewildering expressions of surrealist art.

Teisco - Tuscan Castle And Country Seat

The mysterious Teisco LP is perhaps the most bizarre artefact to emerge from the phenomenal world of Italian Library music. Originally scored for a 1978 RAI television documentary, the album titled Tuscan Castle and Country Seat conforms to nothing you know or understand about library music. Studying composition under maestro A.R Luciani, the young Teisco composed innovative home studio recordings that parallel the outsider technique of French soundtrack composer Francois De Roubaix. With little resemblance to the standard cues usually found on library music LPs, this is stoned underground psychedelic music of the most eccentric kind. Imagine lyrical Moog oscillations drifting loosely over baroque and hallucinogenic atmospheres, or alternatively, think the DIY guitar jamming of the Velvet Underground and Dream Syndicate mixed with the electronics of some lesser-known Krautrock band. Wherever this recording sits among the dusty shelves of forgotten stock music, it is highly personal, deeply rewarding and without a doubt the most mind-blowing library record you will hear this year. This record is soon to be an outsider classic.

John Barry - Walkabout (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)

A lost paradise, a lost innocence, and a lost culture; these are the dominant themes presented in Nicolas Roeg's 1971 masterpiece Walkabout, a survival story of two children lost in the scorched Australian wilderness. Together with other seminal Australian surrealistic outback films, (e.g. Wake In Fright) Walkabout was a film that reshaped the Australian film industry and defined the country's New Wave. On the cusp of the film's 45t h anniversary it is pertinent to observe that for decades the film's original soundtrack has also been considered lost. Composed and conducted by the acclaimed British film composer John Barry, the score is a hallucinogenic mix of exotic romanticism, children's nursery rhyme and potent psychedelic experimentation. For decades, the consensus among soundtrack circles was that the master tapes were officially missing with little chance that the music would ever see a legitimate release, but The Roundtable is pleased to announce that this is no longer the case. The complete soundtrack to one of cinema history's most visually spellbinding films has now finally been re-discovered, sourced from the original stereo master tapes and prepared to the guidelines of the original ill-fated 1970s LP release.

The premiere soundtrack release to Nicolas Roeg's 1971 New Wave Masterpiece.
Lost hallucinogenic orchestral score from acclaimed film composer John Barry.
12-track LP re-mastered from the original stereo master tapes.
180g vinyl and deluxe packaging including archival film stills and original press material.
6 Panel digipack CD.
