WRWTFWW Records is absolutely honored to announce the release of Kenji Kawai’s complete soundtrack to Mamoru Oshii's 1993 superb political thriller science-fiction mecha anime PATLABOR 2: The Movie, available on vinyl for the first time ever and housed in a beautiful heavy gatefold sleeve with obi, as well as on digipack CD. Both versions come with liner notes by the great Masaaki Hara.
A true soundtrack maestro, Kenji Kawai is behind the legendary soundscapes of cult animes and movies such as Ghost in the Shell, Avalon, Ring, Ip Man, and Seven Swords among numerous others. PATLABOR 2: The Movie (Original Soundtrack) is one of his most experimental offerings, an outstanding palette of emotion-filled ambient atmospherics and percussion mastery breathing beautifully through Kawai’s minimalism meets modern classical approach. His symphony of moods paints a delicate picture of urban isolation, a central theme in the movie, but doesn’t hide hints of hope for a joyful future.
PATLABOR 2: The Movie (Original Soundtrack) is an ideal companion to Kenji Kawai’s Ghost in the Shell soundtrack, already available on WRWTFWW Records.

Walter is a rising star in the NCAA wrestling world until his life is ripped apart by the brutal murder of his sister. Will this unlikely pairing bloom into a romance and heal a wound the world cannot see or will the loss of his sister push him over the edge?

A sequel to the 2001 series Blue Planet, it took 4 years to complete this seven part new exploration of the underwater worlds, with 125 expeditions across 39 countries and 6000 hours of underwater filming. The series was broadcast on BBC One on 29 October 2017 with viewing figures exceeding 10m and its exposure of plastic pollution in our oceans has started a global conversation about reducing plastic waste.

With over 120 soundtracks to his credit which have grossed 24 billion dollars at the box office, Hans Zimmer has been honoured with many accolades: an Academy Award, two Golden Globes, three Grammys, an American Music Award, a Tony Award and The Henry Mancini Award for Lifetime Achievement. His Academy Award nomination for Interstellar marked his 10th Oscar nomination.

The composition is completed by Jacob Shea and David Fleming from Emmy and BAFTA nominated Bleeding Fingers Music. Bleeding Fingers has created original music for productions including the Fox’s The Simpsons, BBC’s Planet Earth II, National Geographic’s Princess Diana In Her Own Words, NBC’s hit Little Big Shots, Sony’s Snatch (TV), Amazon’s American Playboy, AMC’s The Making Of The Mob, Netflix original Roman Empire and History Channel’s Mountain Men.

There's a mystical place in the heart of Rotterdam, oddly tucked in between the corporate buildings. Bright light boards and red velvet carpets, it's a small cinema that still breaths its old-school grandeur. That's where the Cinerama Adventures project was born, lead by its staff supervisor DJ Overdose. The result are two tracks that go from modern flavored freestyle to sleazy darkroom experiments, both accompanied by the instrumental versions.

This is the movie soundtrack by the band that was never
requested. These were the sound library musicians who
had to invent their own clients and imaginary cast, crew
and plot to get their music heard, by a niche audience,
before floating deep into the depths of the rare record
reservoir gasping for breath.

To take a cinematic cue the record in question is the
Eurotrash pop equivalent of Jean Renoir’s
tragic/triumphant Boudu character who as a homeless,
confused and desolate down-and-out plunged to the
depths to be unwillingly rescued, resuscitated then after
gradually winning the hearts of an entire family becomes
respected and revered as royalty. Over twenty years after
the mad scientists, Dr. Horst and Ackermann, first
breathed life into this short-lived beast, brave and intrepid
vinyl explorers have sporadically returned to the doors of
Dracula’s Music Cabinet to resurrect the sonic spooks and
mutated melodies to share with nerds, mods, rockers, hiphoppers, psych nuts and Krautsiders alike. The lifeless
corpses of The Vampires Of Dartmoore that lay six feet
beneath the belly of the Eins Deutschmark bins has since
crept through the record collections of the aforementioned
social circles devouring continental currencies and
demanding random ransoms of €250 plus, not to mention
sweat, tears (of laughter) and a lot of blood.

Revamped, remastered, and re-presented! Available once
again since the initial Finders Keepers’ limited edition 2009
pressing.

The Iranian German composer Ramin Djawadi created the musical pieces to the multiple award winning series Westworld. His musical craft can be heard in his demonstration of great versatility by alternating between aggressive action and intimate drama. Djawadi’s score evokes a sense of mystery while balancing the Western and electric elements of the series. With the introduction of the ‘The Raj’ and ‘Shogunworld’ he made some new versions of popular songs. “Paint it, Black” (The Rolling Stones), which already features in the first season, gets a total makeover with shakuhachi and taiko drums. He chose the same song to show the parallel world and parallel actions of season 2. Besides the haunting and uplifting main title composition by Ramin, he also composed impressive covers of “Seven Nation Army” (The White Stripes), “Heart-Shaped Box” (Nirvana) and “Runaway” (Kanye West). The themes are all related to the different characters and worlds in the series, showcasing the different emotions and beautiful landscapes.

This reissued standard vinyl edition of Jóhannsson’s brilliant and seven years in the making work 'Last and First Men' is replacing the limited edition box set, that has originally been released with the album. While composing haunting, elegiac concept albums of lost utopias and working for TV and film the Icelandic composer Jóhann Jóhannsson was thinking about a project on an even larger scale since 2010 - a multimedia work that would include his own visual concept, direction and music. Based on the cult science fiction novel by Olaf Stapledon, Jóhann Jóhannsson's opus magnum Last and First Men artfully combines music, film and narration from Tilda Swinton, sitting somewhere between fiction and documentary to form a poetic meditation on memory and loss.

The Grammy® Award winning original motion picture soundtrack Almost Famous is now available on 2LP 180-gram black vinyl with unreleased photos to enhance the packaging. Featuring songs from Led Zeppelin, The Who, Elton John, Simon & Garfunkel, The Beach Boys, Todd Rundgren, Rod Stewart, The Seeds, The Allman Brothers Band, Lynyrd Skynyrd, David Bowie, Clarence Carter, Cat Stevens, Thunderclap Newman, original score track by Nancy Wilson and “Fever Dog” by the film’s fictional band Stillwater.

CALIBRO 35 the band formed by Massimo Martellotta, Enrico Gabrielli, Luca Cavina, Fabio Rondanini and Tommaso Colliva - announce the release of the ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK OF BLANCA, the TV series produced by Lux Vide in collaboration with Rai Fiction, broadcast in prime time on Rai 1 starting from Monday 22 November. BLANCA, a crime drama directed by Jan Maria Michelini and based on the novel of the same name by Patrizia Rinaldi, tells the extraordinary journey of a young blind woman who has the opportunity to realize the dream she had since childhood: to become a police consultant.

Accompanying this journey, the original music of CALIBRO 35. The soundtrack will be available on limited edition Double LP next February 18th. 28 tracks in total (of which 6 exclusively on the vinyl format), which represent a selection of over 150 entirely composed by CALIBRO 35 to create the sound universe of BLANCA: an impressive and choral work, which has engaged all the components of the Calibro for a long time, giving the band the opportunity to develop a very vast soundscape ranging from retro funk of some diegetic music to modern crime "in Caliber 35 sauce" of investigative and tension scenes. Back in 1979, Italian director Piero Vivarelli made Nella Misura In Cui, a delicious erotic-exotic flick about a middle-aged, leftwing filmmaker who, being also an inveterate playboy, steals his son's girlfriend and takes her on a holiday in the Caribbean where, a few years earlier, he shot his breakthrough feature. In real life, Vivarelli's breakthrough feature was Il Dio Serpente (1970), a film whose sexy scenes have glued generations of viewers to the screen (actress Nadia Cassini has a cult following of her own) and whose superb original soundtrack marked Augusto Martelli's rise to fame.

Today, Four Flies Records is especially proud to present the first complete release of Martelli's sultry soundtrack to Nella Misura In Cui, where he expanded the tropical-voodoo sound of his earlier score to incorporate elements from disco, soul, and funk – idioms that became popular over the nine years between Vivarelli's two movies.

The soundtrack's main theme, "The Joint", will give you a perfect taste of Martelli's late-seventies sound: hippie lounge/beach vibes combined with a sort of flirting with the myths of youth culture, from free love to Third World utopias, to soft drugs. The album also features vocal and instrumental mixes of "Joining Together", an infectious dance-floor banger driven by a powerful rhythm section (percussion played on the upbeat, Tullio De Piscopo doing his magic on drums, and Pino Presti providing a killer bass line) and with airy string textures you wouldn't expect to hear in a disco track.

A super-groovy and soulful masterpiece from one of the standard bearers of erotic-exotic film music, Nella Misura In Cui is one of Four Flies' most exciting finds to date. You need this!

The LP includes a bonus track taken from the actual movie soundtrack, but not present on the original LP. The track feature Audrey Hepburn on vocals with orchestral backing. "This effervescent soundtrack for Blake Edwards' adaption of Truman Capote's wistful novella propelled Mancini into the major league of Hollywood composers. Though there were other jazz-oriented arrangers working
in Hollywood at the time, none possessed Mancini's imagination and skill in orchestration." - All Music

Boy Harsher’s latest release, ‘The Runner (Original Soundtrack)’, is an exorcism.

Augustus Muller and Jae Matthews’ fifth release entitled ‘The Runner (Original Soundtrack)’ is not a traditional album. Rather, it is the soundtrack to a short film, also entitled ‘The Runner’. The film, written, produced, and directed by the duo, is a searching horror film, attached to a meta-style “documentary” about Boy Harsher’s recording process. The album includes several distinct components: cinematic arrangements, vocal features, and of course classic Boy Harsher dark pop.

Both the album and short film will be released in January 2022.

Last year, in the midst of the obvious chaos (the global pandemic), but additionally with Jae’s MS diagnosis, Augustus started working on moody, cinematic sketches. It was uncertain what these pieces would become, other than catharsis. In Jae’s period of convalescence, she kept thinking about this sinister character: a woman running through the woods. Together, they developed this idea further into a film. They were unable to tour, a drastic (and isolating) shift in their career, and making ‘club music’ did not feel right. But there was so much they needed to get out. The next Boy Harsher release would be a reconciliation of this time. The album processes feelings of universal anxiety and the confrontation of at home illness. A necessary expulsion during a time of unrest.

The album opens with “Tower”. The only track on ‘The Runner (Original Soundtrack)’ that Boy Harsher has previously played live, but never recorded. The song is an incantation, with its pulsing synth and Jae’s begging vocals. A spell about desire and impending destruction. Jae asks 'But are you honest? Do you trust? You trust in me?' Questions answered by her desperate yells. It starts both the film and the soundtrack with a heavy presence.

Two songs on ‘The Runner (Original Soundtrack)’ feature vocalists other than Jae Matthews. He allows a distinct sound for both vocalists and really leans into the possibility of divergent genres. “Machina”, is a HI-NRG homage, performed by Mariana Saldaña of Boan, and “Autonomy” a new wave tribute, performed by Cooper B. Handy of Lucy. Augustus Muller fully embraces the soundtrack ethos, by creating fictional ‘bands’ to generate additional content.

‘The Runner (Original Soundtrack)’ is exactly what’s in the name: a soundtrack. At first the shape of the release was nebulous - yet once realized the album is dynamic. It serves as the story of the running figure and her musical accompaniment. Those expecting a traditional release will be surprised, but not disappointed.
