Cincinnati metalcore combo delivers their 2nd release on RG, this time a 2-song 7" follow up to their 2019 album "Flux" Ball of Light from Cincinnati sees their second release on Rad Girlfriend Records, this time as a two song 7" EP follow up to their 2019 album "Flux". This time they've recruited Gared O'Donnell from Planes Mistaken For Stars to play guitar and contribute some lyrics and vocals. Somewhere between the late 90's/early 2000's Metalcore and classic Hardcore, Ball of Light brings the crushing rhythms, heavy riffs and fantastically brutal vocals embodied by the genre. Adding O'Donnells signature shredding and ethereal and caustic vocal melodies adds a new dimension to the band. These two songs are layered and complex. Ball of Light would easily be in good company with bands like Poison The Well, Converge, Cave-In, and Coalesce. They bring a no filler, no nonsense approach to this EP and every part is executed with precision. This marks the beginning of reissues of all of the band’s four albums. Originally released in 2006, the Italian act went all in with their pure and authentic love for the old metal scene of the 80s. The aim was never to reinvent the wheel and bring new influences into classic speed metal. These maniacs represented a new generation which wanted to continue and blast out heavy metal in the old way, with the same spirit.

Bastards gained international attention and were the first Finnish hardcore band to tour Europe, yet they still ended up quitting the band in December 1983 after just a few active years. Svart Records have now put together all the recorded material by Bastards. Arctic Hardcore – Complete Studio Recordings & Rare Rehearsal Tapes -box set was done as a tight co-operation between the record company and members of the band. The nearly four-hour long compilation contains 136 songs, of which fifty are never released versions or completely unheard material, until now. The box set also contains a thick booklet with the band’s history, lyrics, complete song details and a lot of photos from the band’s active years. Bastards was one of the first hardcore punk bands coming from Finland in the early 80’s. The band released three albums between 1982-1983: Harhaa (1982, originally only on cassette tape), Järjetön maailma (1983) and Siberian Hardcore (1983). Propaganda Records, the oracle of its time, released the Maailma palaa ja kuolee EP when the band was still active, and some single tracks also appeared on Finnish and international compilations.

After re-signing to Nuclear Blast in early 2021, the Finnish heavy metal sextet BATTLE BEAST are once again getting ready to unleash their force upon the world in the shape of their brand new masterpiece »Circus Of Doom«. The album is set to be released on January 21st 2022 via Nuclear Blast and in true BATTLE BEAST fashion, the 10 tracks blend true heavy metal with pop and rock-vibes, paired with Noora Louhimo’s unique voice. »Circus Of Doom« was once again recorded at JKB Studios in Helsinki, Finland and produced and mixed by keyboardist Janne Björkroth, while the stunning artwork was created by Jan Yrlund (KORPIKLAANI, MANOWAR etc.), who already took care of BATTLE BEAST’s previous two album designs.

Having only formed in 2008, BATTLE BEAST first signed a record deal with the renowned German metal label Nuclear Blast in 2011. The release of their acclaimed debut »Steel« (2012), won the band a support slot for their labelmates NIGHTWISH. Frontwoman Noora Louhimo finally joined the band in 2012 and the band’s self-titled record (2013) was released shortly afterwards. BATTLE BEAST then got the opportunity to open for bands such as SONATA ARCTICA and POWERWOLF on extensive runs. Their ascent up the metal ladder was quick and the band’s 3rd studio album »Unholy Savior«, achieved remarkable chart positions all over Europe (#1 Finland, #23 UK Rock, #39 Germany etc.). This release was accompanied by another big European tour, but this time with Swedish heavy metal heroes SABATON and DELAIN. BATTLE BEAST’s very first headline run throughout the Continent rounded off their »Unholy Savior« touring cycle.
Their 4th studio album, »Bringer Of Pain« in 2017 reached even higher chart positions (a.o. #1 in Finland, #14 in Germany) and was also BATTLE BEAST’s first output without their original songwriter Anton Kabanen. In 2019, alongside the huge #1 success in the album charts of their home country, Finland, their last album »No More Hollywood Endings« reached a remarkable #11 in German album charts and proved to be their most successful piece yet.
Their latest masterpiece, »Circus Of Doom«, is overall heavier, but still as catchy as ever with bangers like “Masters Of Illusion”, “Freedom”, or the title track “Circus Of Doom”. Once again, the band stay true to their formula of “100% heavy metal - 0% bullshit!”

“NO MORE HOLLYWOOD ENDINGS” WILL BLOW YOU AWAY! The eleven featured songs were recorded by keyboardist Janne Björkroth, Viktor Gullichsen and guitarist Joona Björkroth at JKB Studio; the record was also produced and mixed by Janne. Janne stated about »No More Hollywood Endings«, "The heavy songs are heavier, pop-delights brighter, rock vibes stronger, and sounds richer than before. The emotional scale is wider, and everything is bigger." Last but not least, the cover artwork was created by Jan Yrlund (KORPIKLAANI, MANOWAR etc.), who already took care of the »Bringer Of Pain« design.

Hailing from the southern edge of Finland, BATTLE BEAST were founded in 2008 and soon established themselves with their trademark of pure crunching riffs, high screams, blistering solos and strong choruses. “I thirst to go further as a human being and the music on this album represents a part of the ongoing spiritual journey - that's what I tend to I call it - which is my road onward. Beaten To Death’s brutal and innovative sound is somewhat melodic, in a strange way, and that’s why their sound is often called ‘melodic grindcore’; an oxymoronic definition, some might even say a moronic definition, but still the definition that best applies to this Norwegian quintet’s music. Beaten To Death consists of members from Insense, Tsjuder, The Cumshots, Gothminister and She Said Destroy and have won fans over globally for their energetic, strangely melodic and innovative approach to grindcore. With their combination of hysterical blast beats, meaty grooves, double guitar twang attack, asshole-of-god-earthquake bass and tongue in cheek lyrical approach to the shittiness of life, Beaten To Death have dug out their very own little niche in the music world. Gegründet 1999, waren BEFORE THE DAWN eine der erfolgreichsten finnischen Metal Bands der frühen 2000er Jahre. Obwohl sie 2013 das Projekt auf Eis gelegt haben, wurde ihre Musik von hunderttausenden neuen Fans auf Streaming-Plattformen entdeckt, ganz ohne Promotion oder den Support eines Labels. Ob die Musik die Leute gefunden hat oder die Leute die Musik ist nicht zusagen, aber nach fast einem Jahrzehnt beenden BEFORE THE DAWN nun ihre Pause und kehren mit dem neuen Studioalbum Stormbringers zurück - und das stärker denn je! Ursprünglich war die Band ein Soloprojekt des finnischen Metal Award-Gewinners Tuomas Saukkonen (Wolfheart), doch im Laufe der Jahre gab es mehrere Besetzungswechsel. BEGAT THE NEPHILIM wurden 2012 gegründet und haben eine intensive und unverkennbare Laufbahn hingelegt, in der sie die Bühne mit bekannten Acts wie SOULFLY, SUICIDE SILENCE, NAPALM DEATH, SUFFOCATION, MORBID ANGEL oder vielen anderen teilten und an namhaften Touren/Festivals in den USA, wie Summer Slaughter und dem New England Metal and Hardcore Festival, teilnahmen. Mit ihrem drückenden und doch melodischen und technisch beeindruckenden Sound, sowie ihren frenetischen und chaotischen Live-Auftritten, hat die Band bereits vielerorts einen bleibenden Eindruck hinterlassen und sich einen renommierten Namen in der Szene erspielt.
Das mit Spannung erwartete zweite Album von BEGAT THE NEPHILIM, mit dem Titel "II: The Grand Procession", erscheint am 29. Oktober via Noble Demon. Einen ersten, imposanten Einblick in die neue Platte gibt es mit dem Lyric-Video zu "Paupers Grave".

The second release in the Slavonic Trilogy reissue series. Sventevith (Storming Near the Baltic) is the debut studio album by Polish extreme metal band Behemoth; originally released in April 1995. The 2021 reissue is beautifully packaged and is available on the following formats: Digital, 2 CD media book, and a gatefold 2 LP. Physical formats include bonus audio material and booklets containing exclusive archival content.
