Krallice continue the saga of their artistic growth by crafting elaborately composed works that are increasingly more impossible to define by typical genre terms. Not quite death metal, although obviously borrowing a great deal from the genre. Further from black metal than they've ever been without losing continuity with their prior compositions. Technical without alienating the listener or scattering the musical narrative. Heavy without giving way to basic metal gimmicks. Blistering in speed while never losing their precision or power.

And throughout the masterful balance in composition, Krallice also include lyrical content that appears to sway more on the side of the the personal, reflective, or commentative as opposed to the seemingly more cryptic content of previous material.

Prelapsarian stands as further evidence that Krallice are an ever-evolving entity whose works will not be shaped or defined by any force other than the desire of the band themselves. When they share their music with us it is a snapshot of their own pure intent.

2014 saw the release of the second full-length from Brooklyn's MUTILATION RITES. Although originally released Prosthetic Records, HARBINGER has now been re-pressed by the band themselves as a gatefold LP. As long-time friends of ours, Gilead Media is helping them with distribution on this repress.

Following their highly praised first LP, Empyrean, Mutilation Rites return with an album that pushes their style of filthy black metal further into the shadows with Harbinger. Along with the addition of bassist Ryan Jones (assisting with vocal duties) there also comes a noticeable death metal element to the songs on the album. Everything here is grosser, chunkier, and trashier than anything they've done before.

Remnant Light is atmospheric and ritualistic black metal recommended for fans of Wolves in the Throne Room, Panopticon, Alda, and Fauna.

Vaiya is the solo project of Encircling Sea's R. Allen, founded for the express purpose of channelling ritual energy through music. Vaiya's thrid album Remnant Light is an aggressive ritual banishment of the darkest aspects of the ego. A progression upward toward the light and away from that which drags us down. Told through three thirteen minute tracks, 'Remnant light' seeks to exalt the journey toward bliss and repel the darkness that aims to destroy true being.

Gloam are a band that we here at Gilead Media have had our ear and eye on since the release of their 2012 demo, which was quite an impressive initial offering. They've only become more captivating as a band since then, and when their 2015 debut full length Hex of Nine Heads came along as a cassette release on Caligari Records (limited to 175 copies) its force was undeniable. This is an album that simply requires the vinyl treatment, and we're very pleased to be the ones to help with that.

Hex of Nine Heads was recorded by Greg Wilkinson at Earhammer studios with additional tracking by Lord Vast at The Temple of Ouroboros. Mastering was executed by Dan Randall at Mammoth Sound Mastering.

The album will be presented as a gatefold 2LP with new and re-envisioned and expanded artwork by Barney Fried, the artist behind the original imagery for the cassette release. A download code is included.

Southern Lord unleash a torrent of tumultuous filth, having signed Ohio-based CRYPT ROT - formed by several current/former members of Homewrecker — for the release of their Embryonic Devils debut in early 2017. The album's 'Chapters Of Torment' has been issued for early streaming, as the band announces new live dates, including a set at The Power Of The Riff.

Having written and recorded five original songs within a months' time, CRYPT ROT captured these terrorizing, filth-laden death anthems on their Embryonic Devils debut, with each track led by a death-aura segue. For the recording sessions, the band enlisted Bill Korecky at the Mars Compound (Integrity, Ringworm, Homewrecker); the collaboration with Korecky lead to a well-polished, high-gain sound that grasps elements of many genres and crushes its listeners with its ferocity. Upon completion, the album was passed along, ultimately leading to the signing with Southern Lord.

The band has a strong social and political message. The anti-government lyrics, and the breaking of taboo's made the band one of the most intriguing bands in the middle east.

Many of the songs in the album came out of frustration of the situation in Israel.

On tour between the release of their first and second long players on Rick Rubin's Def American, Glenn Danzig & Co. rolled into the Palace in Hollywood on July 7th, 1989 for one of the most legendary live shows of the group's career. Focusing heavily on tracks from 1988's epic self-titled debut but also covering track from the forthcoming 2nd LP, as well as Glenn Danzig's earlier groups Misfits, and Samhain, this live setis pure, raw, hardcore energy. Danzig was never heavier than in the early years and this live set is a perfect distillation of their talents. Another ripping live punk broadcast from RADIO X.

Recorded live on W.A.S.P.'s 1997 KFD Tour, this album captures the triumphant reunion of the heart and soul of W.A.S.P. - Blackie Lawless & Chris Holmes - and serves as a reminder that they continue to be a major force in heavy rock, with millions of albums sold worldwide since their inception in 1982. The third live album of Dream Theater was recorded at the Budokan Hall in Japan, in front of an ecstatic crowd. A lot of the material included on Live At Budokan comes from the Six Degrees Of Inner Turbulence (MOVLP781) album.

Highlights on the album include Instrumedley', where all members successfully showcase their prowess on each of the band's instruments. John Petrucci's riffs are groovy and his solos are (as usual) second to none. James LaBrie's voice just keeps on getting better and John Myung's supple bass lines add wonderful layered harmonies to their Prog Metal masterpieces.
