Hawkwind's debut album is an extensive mix of
psychedelic and progressive rock, resulting in the so
called space-rock. As one of the pioneers in this genre
they recorded a bunch of deep soundscapes, combining
the best of different genres. The sound of the band is
original and the approach is naive in a good sense.
This debut can be seen as the highlight of their career,
capturing the true spirit of this raw and communal
musical movement. The Pretty Things guitarist Dick
Taylor produced the debut album by Hawkwind, after
he had left his former group.

'The BEAST is back, the BEAST IN BLACK!' Haunting words recalling 'Berserker', BEAST IN BLACK's debut album, which was finally released in November 2017. Although it never actually felt as if the BEAST had been away entirely. Right after the departure from his former band BATTLE BEAST, BEAST IN BLACK's founder Anton Kabanen recruited new companions in the way of high-pitched vocalist Yannis Papadopoulos (WARDRUM), bassist Mate Molnar (WISDOM), guitarist Kasperi Heikkinen (U.D.O.) and last but not least drummer Atte Palokangas (THUNDERSTONE), who officially replaced Sami Hänninen in early 2018.

Continuing with the same style of songwriting that he started with BATTLE BEAST, Kabanen crafted a new host of addictive songs that excite with their use of relentless energy and power. Especially the album's first single, 'Blind And Frozen', that blew the roof off and set the bar very high by achieving several million YouTube views in just a year. To cut it short: 'Berserker' was very well received by both new and old fans of Anton's work, as well as fans of the anime series 'Berserk', which Anton drew inspiration from. A number of well-known musicians have also praised the record such as NIGHTWISH's Tuomas Holopainen (who said that 'you have to be mentally insane to not love this album'), HELLOWEEN / GAMMA RAY's Kai Hansen and many more.

Additionally, 'Berserker' not only allowed BEAST IN BLACK to enter the hearts of many people all around the globe, but also gave them the keys to the gates of the world's stages! The accompanying touring cycle kicked off in October 2017 in the form of a few European shows supporting the legendary W.A.S.P. - one of Kabanen's musical idols next to JUDAS PRIEST, ACCEPT among others - followed by select shows opening for Germany's BEYOND THE BLACK. If you'd have thought, that it's impossible to top such an amazing beginning, you would soon be proved wrong. To worthily close the 'Berserker' live chapter, the band returned to where their live career had begun back in 2015 - supporting Finnish symphonic metal giants NIGHTWISH in front of several thousand fans in November & December 2018. Despite their extensive touring schedule, the BEAST managed to achieve something else in the past few months...

The band secretly forged 11 hot new tracks which comprise their highly-anticipated sophomore record 'From Hell With Love'. The album was once again recorded in Anton's own Sound Request Studio, and true to the motto 'Never change a winning team', the cover artwork was created by Roman Ismailov who worked on »Berserker« as well as the first record Kabanen wrote under the banner of BATTLE BEAST, 'Steel' (2012). Although BEAST IN BLACK's new tunes musically fit into a similar vein as their debut album, the lyrics haven't only been inspired by the aforementioned 'Berserk', but also by other movies and TV series Anton is a huge fan of, as well as personal experiences once again. For example, 'Cry Out For A Hero' is based on another Japanese manga and anime series called 'Fist Of The North Star'. Fans of 'Berserk' have nothing to worry about as with the help of Anton's Italian friend Paolo Ribaldini the record still delves deep into Anton's favourite series!

'From Hell With Love' delivers everything that made fans love Anton's work in the first place. A slew of fast-paced tracks like the opener 'Cry Out For A Hero' and 'Repentless', hymnic songs 'Unlimited Sin' and 'This Is War' and one of the band's specialities, mid-tempo smashers that only BEAST IN BLACK can deliver are back and represented on the new disc by the lead single 'Sweet True Lies' and the album's title track. There's simply no way to escape its claws! As JUDAS PRIEST already knew in their hit song 'Nightcrawler': 'Beware the BEAST IN BLACK...' You better do!

From playing chaotic house parties in their home city of Oxford to becoming major festival headliners across Europe, Foals' trajectory has been remarkable. They've earned critical acclaim (NME and Q Award wins, plus Mercury Prize, Ivor Novello and BRIT Award nominations) and fan devotion (1.7 million sales of their four Gold-certified albums) in equal measure. And while the majority of contemporaries have fallen by the wayside, Foals continue to hit new peaks.

After more than a decade in the game, Foals again embrace that love for the unconventional with the bravest and most ambitious project of their career: not one, but two astonishing new albums: 'Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost'. A pair of releases, separate but related, they share a title, themes and artwork. 'Part 1' will be released on March 8th, with 'Part 2' following later in the year.

'They're two halves of the same locket,' frontman Yannis Philippakis explains. 'They can be listened to and appreciated individually, but fundamentally, they are companion pieces.

Fundamentally tethered but possessing their own personalities, the two bodies capture the most compelling, ambitious and cohesive creations they've ever produced. Eager to break the traditional pop song structure which they felt they were becoming increasingly tapered to, the 20 tracks defy expectation. There are exploratory, progressive-tinged tracks alongside atmospheric segues which make the music an experience rather than a mere collection of songs. Yet the band's renowned ability to wield relentless grooves with striking power and skyscraper hooks also reaches new heights.

The album's lead single 'Exits' is a case in point, featuring Philippakis conjuring the image of a disorienting world via a contagious vocal melody. It's a fresh anthem for Foals' formidable arsenal, but also an ominous forecast.

'There's a definite idea about the world being no longer habitable in the way that it was,' says Yannis. 'A kind of perilousness lack of predictability and a feeling of being overwhelmed by the magnitudes of the problems we face. What's the response And what's the purpose of any response that one individual can have'

'Exits' signposts what to expect thematically from both instalments of 'Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost'. The title is a warning that anything - from the tiniest fleeting moment of inspiration through to the planet's own biological diversity - can be under threat of being irrevocably erased.

It's a theme that permeates throughout the album's material, as Foal mirror the public neuroses that have been provoked by our current cultural climate. Paranoia of state surveillance Fear of environmental collapse Anxiety over Trump's next potentially cataclysmic move It's all there in these apocalyptic songs.

'Lyrically, there are resonances with what's going on in the world at the moment,' summarises Yannis. 'I just feel like, what's the utility of being a musician these days, if you can't engage with at least some of this stuff These songs are white flags, or they're SOSs, or they're cries for help... each in a different way.'

The new albums' journeys began as the 'What Went Down' era ended. Founding bassist Walter Gervers departed on amicable terms after playing the Festival Paredes de Coura in Portugal in August 2017. Foals felt that he couldn't be replaced - a decision that ushered in a period of recalibration, reorganisation and, ultimately, rejuvenation.

After taking a little time out, Foals - completed by Jimmy Smith (guitar), Jack Bevan (drums) and Edwin Congreave (keys) reconvened - with Yannis on production duties, who, together with Edwin, also covered the bass parts. They began by writing in a rehearsal space before exporting those sketches into the recording phase at 123 Studios, Peckham, with the assistance of engineer Brett Shaw. They'd repeat the cycle between the two spaces, effectively creating an ongoing feedback loop as they sought to push every new idea to the finish line.

Swapping oscillators for guitar strings and synth filters for dusty amps this side project continues exploration of blues music through electronics. Originally started as an experiment in programming styles with a release on Bluecid a few years back, these songs continue the droning tones and a variety of tempos that fill the six tracks. All songs were played live on machines while being captured at the crossroads of crossed wires.

No guitars were harmed, held or harnessed in the creation of this electronic project following up the Bluecid 001 release a few years back.

Blood, Sweat & Tears' fourth album B, S & T: 4 was written by different band members. The record peaked at number 10 on the Billboard Pop albums chart and two singles made their way into the Pop singles chart. The tracks are generally shorter compared to their previous albums. The band moved a little bit to the mainstream direction, offering some impressive performances. Their musical style is still a mix of rock, blues, jazz and folk. The warm atmosphere is recognizable and it's great from beginning to the piano led end, a charming, energetic and lively album.

In their almost 50-years of existence Blood, Sweat & Tears covered a lot of famous songs by James Taylor, The Band and The Rolling Stones, among others. They also incorporated different music from artists like Thelonious Monk and Sergei Prokofiev in their songs.

Following the 'Screaming Ghosts' collection highlighting the music of C Cat Trance, Emotional Rescue and Malka Tuti return with the first of two EPs where the band's music is given over to a selection of artists, friends and collaborators for reinterpretation, re-editing, replaying and remixing to provide a modern outlook on the bands mixture of East meets West musicology.
Very much the vision of Malka Tuti and close to their ground-breaking releases of the last two years, the genius is out of the bottle with a who's who representing both labels. First, Autarkic go supergroup in enlisting Tel Aviv's White Screen for a cover of Screaming (To Be With You). Totally replayed, this is the perfect opening, with wide-screen production, updated arrangement and decimal delivering vocals setting the standard.
Following comes an effusive, simple and on-point remix of Dalbouka by the inspiring ledge that is JD Twitch. Platitudes aside - enough has been said by others - but the fact Twitch is as enthusiastic and driven as ever is testament enough. The simplicity and genius of his rework, where 909 is added alongside fx to speaker shaking effect, shows that less can be much more.
In Sneaker (DJ) we have a name moving steadily from the (cult) periphery to become one to consistently check and respect. Following EPs for Rat Life and Bahnsteig 23, the singularity of his reversion is audacious and entrancing. Brevity, purity and ultimately intensity of percussion, horns, bell and guitar. Enter.
To end volume 1 comes Die Orangen. Kris Baha and Dreems' bromance of Aussie label (red) heads, united in post-industrial explorations. With a deep, expansive album incoming on Malka Tuti, their brooding, rattling, ghostly mix is one for late night thinkers, that steps up to encapsulate an EP that successfully marries old and new, bringing C Cat Trance's music present.

The Exploited were one of the most popular bands in UK Punk's immediate second-generation. A winning and indestructible formula of raw electric fury and speed and anarchist-oriented lyrics, all under the iconic mohawk and through the raucous voice of singer and band leader Wattie. One of the undisputed European Punk classics, Hubble Bubble's 1977 debut LP is back on vinyl again for the joy of all true KBD punk rock conosseurs. A true legend for the few, featuring a very young Plastic Bertrand on drums Hubble Bubble formed in 1973 and released their first album on Barclay. This long awaited 'Belgian Waffles' label reissue also comes with repros of two promotional posters from those days. Punk rock!

Billy Joe Rocker was the guitar player and vocals of Old Stuff Trio during 18 years where he played around the world in places like Hemsby (UK), Ace Cafe (UK), Viva Las Vegas (Nevada USA), Rockabilly Hall of Fame (Jackson USA), Galloway Church (Memphis USA), Nashville Palace, Roberts Western World and American Legion Post 88 (Nashville USA).

Joe was the manager of the biggest Rock n Roll Weekender in Brazil named Big River Festival, in 2016 was proudly inducted in The International Rockabilly Hall of fame in Jackson TN USA.

In December 2016 Joe formed with his son (Johnny B. Gordon) the band Joe and Hill Valley Boys, they are composing together and playing day-by-day a lot of songs very influenced by the 50's Rockabilly originals.

Reissue for a legendary Belgian punk release, originally from 1981 on the Color label. Featured on the Bloodstains Across Belgium vol 2 compilation and widely acclaimed by all 'killed by death' punk rock maniacs around the world, the Pinchers sole release gets the reissue treatment from the Belgian Waffles label. 2 tracks of snotty and primitive rock and roll. Originals go way above 500 bucks on line (and they don't show up much). Limited to 500! Hurry Up.

Originally released in 1991, The Planet Rockers debut LP 'Coming In Person' would prove to be a landmark record on the world-wide Rockin' scene and one that still stands as perhaps the band's finest work. It was in the middle of that same year that me and my band - Big Sandy and the Fly-Rite Trio - first visited European shores. By the time we arrived on the Euro scene, The Planet Rockers had already landed there a year earlier and fans were abuzz with frantic tales of this must-see American combo. At every Rock & Roll festival I would hear things like, 'You just gotta see the guitar player Eddie Angel in action! Spearheading the burgeoning DIY Leeds scene, 'Plastic Front' sees Treeboy & Arc release their first single of 2019, adding to the ever-growing stream of exciting singles they've released so far in their short time as a band. Opening with a jangling guitar riff, the track soon bursts into life as it crashes into a darker, more sinister tone.

'Plastic Front' came about after James from the band made a trip to Poland. He explains 'I visited Gdansk for a short but sweet 26 hour and 10 minute trip. I was on my way back to the airport and I saw someone crash going about 60mph on the hard shoulder of the motorway. My immediate thought was that they must be dead, but after 7-8 Polish men and myself running over to check, we found the man to be alive and ok, just in a lot of disbelief and confusion. People pushed the car off the road as I helped clear up broken bits of plastic and glass, then everyone just headed off as if nothing had happened.'

Speaking about where the lyrical inspiration came from, James explained 'When I was on the plane home I was more aware than usual of all of the images and constant warnings about what to do in the instance of the plane crashing. Whilst reading through it all I wrote the lyrics to Plastic Front as it all just felt like a pretty weird and odd experience.'

Roots and Wings is the fourth studio album by the Belgian band Vaya Con Dios, released in 1995. Singer Dani Klein worked together with different studio musicians and the American Muscle Shoals Horns to record this album. The songs are all easy listening and gives you the perfect feeling for those rainy days.

Vaya Con Dios was founded in 1986 by Dirk Schoufs, Dani Klein and Willy Lambregt. They had some international success with songs like "Just A Friend Of Mine", "What's a Woman" and "Puerto Rico". In 2013 they started their farewell tour which ended on 25 October 2014 in Brussels.

Stealers Wheel was a successful Scottish folk rock band, which had a gigantic hit in 1973 with 'Stuck in the Middle with You'. One of the main figures in the band was Gerry Rafferty, known for his solo hits 'Baker Street', 'Right Down the Line' and 'Night Owl'. These songs, fan favorites and more gems can be found on the exclusive 2LP Gerry Rafferty & Stealers Wheel Collected.

School friends Joe Egan and Gerry Rafferty formed the band Stealers Wheel in 1972. The band existed for only 3 years, but they recorded 3 albums and several songs charted. After their break-up in 1975 Gerry Rafferty continued his solo career and recorded several hits songs, like 'Baker Street' and 'Days Gone Down'. Hist most successful album 'City to City' peaked at No. 1 in the US and No. 6 in the UK. This Collected 2LP consists of one side with Stealers Wheel classics and three sides with Rafferty songs from the '70s and '80s.

Multi-platinum singer songwriter Hozier has today announced his much-anticipated new album Wasteland, Baby! set for release on March 1 on Island Records.

The album also follows Hozier's recent Nina Cried Power EP. The EP, which features Multi-Grammy award winning artist and performer Mavis Staples and instrumentation by renowned Grammy Life Time Achievement Award recipient Booker T. Jones, has been streamed over 26 million times since its release in September last year. The title track of the EP also opens Wasteland, Baby! and has already proved incredibly successful for Hozier. Barack Obama included the song in his favourite songs of 2018 playlist and the track was the subject of the Song Exploder podcast's first episode of 2019, which you can listen to here.

In October 2018, Paul Weller performed two extraordinary must-see concerts at The Royal Festival Hall with an orchestra. The second of these shows was recorded / filmed and now sees the light of day as a stand-out live album and DVD released on March 8th.

'Other Aspects, Live At The Royal Festival Hall' features an eclectic 25 track career spanning set.  As well as classics from Paul's rich back catalogue, the bulk of the critically acclaimed performance features 11 songs from the gorgeous 'True Meanings' - Paul's roundly lauded, no. 2 album which was released last September. The track-listing also includes several tracks from Paul's days in The Jam, including a radical re-working of 'Private Hell' from their 1979 LP 'Setting Sons' and a brilliantly realised version of 'Boy About Town'. The Style Council get a welcome look-in too with 'Have You Ever Had It Blue' and 'A Man Of Great Promise'. Other firm solo favourites such as 'You Do Something To Me' and 'Long Long Road' fit seamlessly into the set. As well as the full concert, the DVD also features a behind-the-scenes mini-documentary with rehearsal footage and interviews.

The shows were a resounding success with meticulous arrangements and superb sound, with Paul's voice sounding richer and more assured than ever. Along with Paul's usual touring band, the show featured the London Metropolitan Orchestra and, on the sublime 'Books', Paul was joined on-stage by Lucy Rose and three incredible musicians: Sheema Mukherjee, Kamalbir Nandra and Tofail Ahmed playing Sitar, Tanpura and Indian Violin.

Ably assisted by conductor/arranger Hannah Peel there was, at times, a total of 24 musicians onstage.

The American country rock band Poco formed in 1968 and released different charting songs during the '70s and '80s. In 50 years they recorded more than enough worthwhile material to bundle on 2LPs. The Poco Collected album features songs from different periods and includes some live recordings.

During their 50-years of existence Poco performed in various groupings and recorded over 20 studio albums. The band was formed following the demise of Buffalo Springfield in 1968, as seen in the name of their first album, Pickin' Up the Pieces. It was the start of long career, in which they recorded several charting singles, such as 'Rose of Cimarron', 'Crazy Love', 'Call It Love' and 'Heart of the Night'. Those singles are combined with the unknown gems and several fan favourites, to feature on the Collected 2LP.

Within certain record collecting circles, especially those who gather under the umbrella that covers fragile niches like 'acid folk' and 'soft rock', it's difficult to imagine a time when the legendary Susan Christie album didn't exist. When Finders Keepers Records first shared the unheard 60's songs like Paint A Lady, For The Love Of A Soldier and Echoes In Your Mind with a wide-eyed audience thirsty for organic soul and festival friendly acoustic funk, Susan's new found fan base instantly felt like they had known these songs all of their lives, and with a single needle drop we saw the birth of what could rightfully be described as an 'instant classic'. Which is why it's hard to believe that the music on this lost 60s acetate was only pressed 12 years ago. As our lucky seventh release in an international discography that now surpasses the 100 mark (and one of a small clutch of English language recordings on the label) Paint A Lady has slowly become one of our most requested re-releases, and with this 2018 edition it is technically accurate to say that this pressing is the first-ever reissue of this elusive and essential LP.

The oft over used term mythical applies to this album on many levels. Perhaps it's the woozy nostalgia found within the pop craft of Paint A Lady that has led to false rumours that original 1960's copies used to exist on the collectors market, or the bizarre claim that songs like the head-nodding title track, and the acid-drenched sound effects on Yesterday Where's My Mind were just a product of a contemporary studio band trying to create a fake folk funk red herring. As a result Susan Christie and her producer and husband of 40 years, John Hill have happily taken the repeat phrase 'unbelievable' as a compliment to their songwriting skills and foresight. In all fairness, with a decade to ponder, the original 1969 song titles alone do seem custom-built for the nostalgia market... No One Can Hear You Cry might lament the unrequited yearning for a record deal which never quite followed Susan's won one-hit wonder novelty hit I Love Onions; similarly When Love Comes might allude to the subsequent 35 year wait for the right label to eventually come along. Echoes In Your Mind and the aforementioned Yesterday... could easily allude to the haunting melodies that sat in the can on John Hill's studio shelf while his projects for Margo Guryan, Wool and Pacific Gas & Electric sat proudly in record racks before benefitting successful French cover versions or making their way on to Quentin Tarantino soundtracks. The track Paint A lady itself, complete with it's future-proofed sample-worthy rhythm section, seems like the perfect title for a mock rock pseudo psych contender - at which point you eventually step back and see the bigger picture. These guys were simply one drop too far ahead of their time; a family force of experimental pop perfection that late 60's America simply wasn't ready for. It is just over 12 years since champion record rustler Keith D'Arcy (who you'll meet on the inside sleeve) stumbled upon one of the original acetates that led to the final release of Paint A Lady, and it's almost a longer 50 years since Susan and John added their final touches to these recordings which tragically went into hibernation for over four decades.

Whether this album has been on your wish-list for what seems like a lifetime, or you are taking a plunge into this deep puddle for the first time, when the needle drops on the first track you'll find that Susan Christie, John Hill and Finders Keepers have been saving up for a very rainy day.

Tony Joe White was an influential musician in the '60s and '70s swamp rock scene. As one of the creators of this sound he recorded different hit songs, like 'Rainy Night In Georgia' and 'Polk Salad Annie'. The exclusive 2LP Collected title covers his music from the '60s until the '00s, including duets with different artists.

After Tony signed his first contract in 1967 he recorded multiple singles without success. In 1969 'Polk Salad Annie' charted in the U.S. , reaching number 8. He recorded multiple albums in the late '60s early '70s. As he became more popular other musicians started covering his songs, like Dusty Springfield's 'Willie and Laura Mae Jones' and Brook Benton's 'Rainy Night in Georgia'. Both songs charted in the cover versions and made him a well-known artist. During the '90s and '00s he recorded more albums and singles, including classics like 'Ain't Going Down This Time' and '(You're Gonna) Look Good In Blues'. All his hits, fan favorites and unknown gems are included on this fantastic 2LP album.
