Black Key return from a four year hiatus in style - with 4 sublime tracks from Australian ultra deep house don Planisphere - aka David Swatten. Following an incredibly well received LP on reissue label For Those That Knoe, Swatten returns with more expansive, smokey and utterly consuming deep house cuts, stamped with his unique sound but offering a different flavour from his Definitive Transmission LP. One which immediately stands out from the crowd. Being only his third release in 20 years, there's an understandable sense of anticipation around Swatten's output. This release undoubtedly puts Black Key firmly back on the map, picking up their deserved reputation for releasing only the very best deep house, aimed well and truly at the heads.

Magnonic Signals welcome back the extraordinary talents of Darren Nye following his label debut on Neuromorphic Engineering Vol.1.

Well known for his beautiful techno, electro and electronica and featuring on top labels including FireScope, Nebulae, Revoke and Childhood Intelligence, Darren brings ‘Forgotten Technology’ which is some of his best work to date.

'Hidden In Plain Sight' (+) a dystopian electro track weaving lush warm pads and glassy eyed melodies over bubbling 808 beats with added 303 grittiness resulting in a wonderful timeless Detroit inspired gem.

‘Behind The Smile' (++) Imagine if B12 and Larry Heard met up for a late night jam in the mid 90's! A chi-town bassline combined with icy atmospherics and exquisite drum programming all make for a great track for both club and home-listening alike.

On the flip Dream Sequencer (-) takes us into pure space territory. A Nu Electronica style techno monster with driving drums and immersive emotional content throughout.
This track is sure to make any discerning dance floor go into overdrive!

To close we have the amazing electronica of 'Great Tartaria' (- -) Mr. Nye pulls out all the stops to deliver a sumptuous story-telling track. A pounding 808 kick and then soul soothing melodies and strings take you to a higher plane.

As the System Error tree extends its branches, a new concept is born, Fresh Tunez - a safe haven for dancefloor dynamic beats from an array of shining producers under the System Error radar. Inaugurating the Berlin based project is Fantasy Attitude and Polarity founder, Luca Piermattei. Quirky and innovative sound structures from the Italian producer, quilted with unique emotion, yet infectious funk.

For the fifth release, Clut Communication presents the first solo debut of an Uruguayan artist, Molen, with his "Subterranean Practice" EP. Five energetic tracks perfect for the dancefloor, combining elements of punchy electro and psychedelic ambient techno, influenced from 90's sounds.

Dr. Rhythm was a short-lived house project by a British musician Mark Woollard who would later go on to become a library musician. As Dr. Rhythm, he released two 12" on Chill music subsidiary Danceteria in 91 and 92. Joining Mark on production and remix duties were Jason (E.M.U.) and Neil of Liquid Son whose house hits we also reissued in 2021.

Cold Blow is proud to resurrect these irresistibly fun house works as a remastered compilation, right on time to brighten up the promised summer of 2022.

Ode to the Mode is the new EP from Naarm/Melbourne DJ & producer Kayroy. His first for the Velodrome Recordings imprint, this record sees the producer blend his love for synth-laden italo-style house and rave-ready techno, resulting in a record that is equally suited for cloud gazing and peak club moments.

The record opens with ‘Behind the Clouds’, a dense and sprawling track that pairs vibrant synth leads with crystal clear percussive work - a modern flip on a warm italo-house sound. With the EP’s title track, Kayroy takes a more club-focused approach, delivering a high-energy groove packed with buzzing 303s and an ear-worm percussive hook.

The flipside sees the producer journey into hard-hitting electro territory on ‘Ping Pong Funk’, before closing out the record with the slow-burning breakbeat bomb ‘Better Late’.

Michael Mayer is one of the leading German tastemakers in dance music and his DJ sets have influenced a generation (or two) of musicians and fans.As an artist, Mayer remains tirelessly motivated to DJing, in the studio or behind his desk at KOMPAKT, the label he co-owns. His recording career spans four albums, 23 EP's, nearly 170 remixes and the legendary DJ mixes for fabric and Immer. '&' is his third full-length, a passionate and personal album that speaks as broadly as his DJ sets - embracing his genre-busting love for music, rhythm and atmosphere - and the dancefloor in front of him. '&' is the rare manifest of an established artist who is willing to risk it all and challenge himself, and the world around him. 12 tracks, 12 single narratives coming from a group of very individual minds orchestrated by Michael Mayer - the DJ, artist, A&R but most importantly, obsessed music lover. Michael describes the process of curating and creating '&' as a constant battle between his three alter egos but 'the obsessed music lover has had the final say.' Kennedy again uses the power of machines to translate his late-night dreams and spaced-out thoughts into two tracks of borderless hi tech soul music. This second musical manifestation of dreams is the newest in a unique series of thoughts, sensations and sounds occurring from a person's mind, translated by machines.

For its eight instalment, and its first Various Artist, Finest Hour brings together old and new friends. Tolga Fidan and Voigtmann were in the plans since the label was created in late 2013, and it's with great joy that we finally welcome their contribution to our series.


A versatile EP that ranges from timeless house inspired by the deepness of the 90s to futuristic minimal cuts with a modular touch and a broken beat edge. The VA is completed with two individual contributions by label bosses Onirik and Pablo Tarno, fitting with the musical aesthetics that Finest Hour is known for.

The heroes of the Stackenscheider’s third release our fellow countrymen from different parts of the world — Anton Kubikov, Kirill Matveev and Raf. Each of whom gave us a unique cast of the very exclusive club atmosphere created also by them.

"1959" is a concept album dedicated to my father. The main theme is based on my particular perception of travel and movement, which are both narrated with similar and different electronic sounds at the same time. The double vinyl edition is divided into 4 sides entitled "Moon", "Flight", "Space" and "Land". The vocals of some tracks, such as "The Aircraft", were made with fragments of vocal announcements recorded in the airports during my tours. The plane, already featured on the cover of the single "Lux", is interpreted as a mysterious vehicle that travels in space-time. The album cover instead portrays my father's motorcycle, as if it were suspended in the sky during the transition from night to day, which in this case symbolizes the transition from the noise of earthly life to the stillness of eternity. In this new work of mine I found my Synth-pop, Electro and Ambient influences, combined with rhythms that lend themselves well both to listening and to the dance floor. Enjoy it!

feat John Shima remix

Mihail P brings us a 4 tracker, including a special John Shima remix. We start with the title track "Relinquish", a nice journey through deep space at a modest tempo. It features electro breaks rhythm patterns and harmonics to send you in to orbit. Following is "Shifting", a more acid tech vibe and straight 4/4 chugger, in line with proper Detroit / UK lushness from the 90's and forward. Flip to the B side for "Reliquish John Shima remix". It's hard to say which track is the peak, but this one's a contender. John Shima is known for his signature bleepy, but danceable sound. He adds layers of synth programming intelligence and great basslines as usual. Finally the B2 "Close to Zero" is the closing tune. Similar to the opener, we find more electro breaks, synth basses and a cool pad to complete the perfect journey.

Jason Warlock turned down an MBE from the Queen last year, which was awarded cos of his service to the rave. A torch holder of the continuum since '95 here he dons his current Hooverian Blur moniker reappearing on Sneaker with 2 Bleep-Tek twisted Originals - Square Jazz & Sirens and an Old Gold (Monopolypella mix) which is backed by a Low End Activist refix.

Stepping Hill EP Kicks off with a classic cut ‘Planets’ a straight up Bruk workout, reminiscent of the original CoOp days when Seiji’s Loose Lips was running the dance red hot! These crunchy Bruk step drums keep this jam running with vocal chops, talking philosophy about the planets and language, while lush chords, bleeps and a fat round bassline roll through to keep the energy moving, what else does one need to fling foot on the floor! (Try saying that fast!) One for the steppers!

The second track takes us on a more 2 step UKG vibe, baring the other strings to Szajna’s bow. ‘Pavement groove' is a proper soulful roller featuring London born, Manchester based Yemi Bolatiwa, a talented vocalist and songwriter who is a leading light of the Manchester music scene. Working with orchestras, bands and DJs in a range of different genres, a versatile performer as her recent single, ‘Water’, showed. On Szajna’s ‘Pavement Groove’ Yemi’s soulful vocals flow in and out of the 2 step rhythm and jazzy chords with low end sub basses laying foundations to the groove.

Then to finish off the A side Szajna pulls out Tape Cut, another sweet roller, more breakbeat than Broken-beat but still chopping it with that Bruk essence. Chords and percussion dance with the drums until a hypnotic flute introduces itself. It’s uplifting, playful, beatsy, bassy with dubbed out FX, a perfect bridge to the B side.

B1 rolls in with D.R Juice, a fave in the office, hitting all the right buttons in a Bruk dance floor sense. Dark and moody with proper chunky broken drums syncopated with this stab that gives the whole thing a kind of wobble while dubbed out sirens bleed through the tight hi-hats and deep bassline. We’ve been playing this one for a while and can’t wait to mash the dance with this one ! All you Bruk Steppers, S P R E A D O U T !

Like you’d need any more after that, Szajna lays down more soothing soulful garage esq beats on ‘Feeling’ with singer songwriter for The Darling Mundaring, London based, Crystal Alice, who has gathered a wide respect for encapsulating music that draws the listener into an unforgettable and intense experience, vocalist Crystal entices the listener with her soft sultry melodies that tell stories about love, loss, life and redemption.

Finishing off with Low ft Rosco G, skippy drum patterns once again keeping up that nod to UKG with piano chords and a muted Miles Davis style trumpet from Manchesters Rosco G. Smooth as you like, a laid back head nodder, that gangsta lean shit.

Technoindigenous Studies is the newest outlet of producer/composer Gabriel Reyes-Whittaker, aka Gifted & Blessed, serving as a platform for his many alter egos and side projects. As the name implies, Technoindigenous Studies is the union of modern musical technology with the ways and intentions of the ancestors.

The first release on the label is from one of Gabriel's lesser known monikers, The Reflektor. We know The Reflektor as half of the west coast electro funk duo POLY, and since then he released an EP with Kyle Hall's Wild Oats label titled Las Ruinas Mayas, which paid homage to the ancient Mayans. This new EP, simply titled Taíno, is a tribute to his own indigenous Caribbean ancestors. Each of the 4 track titles is taken from the Taíno language. Call it techno, electro, music to move to, whatever you wish. There's room for your own personal interpretation. That's what makes the Gifted & Blessed sound what it is.

Dutch 303 aficionado Böhm lets his arsenal of bleeps and breaks loose on GST19. Released in collaboration with Echocentric Records and in addition to ECR005.

Stand up wherever you are, because this is a very magical moment. Sports Records drops its hottest 12” yet. It's lights out and away we go!



Starting from P1, Liquid Earth gets a great start off the line with ‘Spooky Snorkel’. A banging spaced out breaks and retro house track with scratches that build and release tension, dropping into heart opening leads. Daisy Boy makes his debut in P2 with a new power unit and a breakbeat techno anthem, ‘The Feeling Of Doing It Again’. A relentless genre bending inside line that builds and builds leaving you in a trance. Second row P3 is by smooth operator, Nachtbraker. 'Marcus Howl' stays cool on a hot track with a super moody number full of acid howls that bring the dance floor back down to earth. Huerta closes out the grid in P4 with his hypnotic ‘Seekers’. Don't sleep on P4, even though it is a dubby dream.

1-800 Girls makes his eagerly awaited return to the Shall Not Fade catalog with a 4-track tribute to the early-hours ravers. With skittering drums, synth plucks and peppers of whimsical vocals, When U Call EP captures a sound at once blissfully nostalgic to 90s rave, and boldly forward-facing in its mutation of today's scene-defining sounds of UK Bass.

Although barely discernible underneath off-kilter synth stabs and squelching drums, Burial-esque vocal chops do their best to haunt the title track, colouring it with both a sense of melancholy and deliverance. On that same note, enter "OCB". Its stripped-back successor
is equally as moody yet somewhat more modest with a mournful melody and minimal drums.

The aptly-named "Start Over" welcomes a switch in mood. With high-pitched staccato vocals and an up-beat drum pattern, its trancey-tempered quality is not a million miles away from the music of Overmono. Finally, listeners of the EP's closer "Move With Me" need little more than the title's instruction as its 150 BPM and pop-adjacent vocals do all the talking.

For volume six, we have four ethereal club driven belters. Spanning bass, breaks, techno & garage. Supplied by a trio of powerhouse producers all hailing from Germany. Kid Kun takes the helm with 'Moments' & 'Noble' spaced out takes on garage and breaks. Collaborating on tracks with Van Kost & Ekko for some techno leaning anthems.

Cologne's DJOKO has been exploring breakbeats and electro formations under the Kolter banner over the past couple of years, dropping some serious heat on Talman, Pilot and Body Movement. It's Pilot he returns to for this bang tidy two tracker of taut and crisp breaks which wouldn't sound out of place in a Plump DJs set circa 2005. 'Ying Yang' slips some vocodered spirituality in amongst a punchy beat and warm splashes of analogue synth work. The slightly saucier 'Drop De Tiddies' rides a break and works an old-skool hip hop sample before ripping into some chirpy lead lines, making for a fun and fruity dancefloor delight.

Hand stamped limited press and as always vinyl only, Hut Vibez Records returns, Jase is back with a dreamy trip of lush minimal electronic on the new 12'', The full A side Metanoia is a stomper for anytime of the day or night and a joy on the ears with big kicks, catchy riffs & a neat bass.....B sides, Law of Nature takes a minimal 90s approach with a tight groove to keep you well locked in, and second track of the B side Nubigavant is a bassy, heavy breaks track, high above the clouds, with bass, dirty breaks and trippy vocals perfect for late mornings, the music speaks for itself & will put you in a good place.

Regardless of where you’re from, it’s where you at. These wise words are some that the Watch Patrol wants you to remember as we all trying to find and stay on our path..

These wise words start off the A side and prepare us for a funky and synth fueled, cow bell-ing journey.

Next we head into Trial & Error, a bouncing tech which has already been proven to bring some big energy on the dance floor.

The project "Records Without Conception" shows toğrul's process of finding his sound. The album is not based on a concept, a statement or an overriding mood. The tracks are rather to be understood as portraits from protracted explorations of basic patterns in electronic genres and modular sound synthesis. The results are a not self- contained body of work, but rather discussions of various demands on sound and music that were experienced by the artist himself between the years 2018 and 2021. With his debut album, the German and Azerbaijan based producer wants to capture the process of this artistic searching and finding.
Surreal constructions of contrasting sounds evolve between the grids of genres. An experimental style and contemporary references across Contemporary RnB, Electro, Glitch and IDM form a sound logic of its own, which is additionally grounded by the singers Alice Dlugosch & Mariama Ceesay in two independent tracks.

The Balek Band and Abstrack Records’s first album, Médecines, is the product of a magma of influences, the emanation of large decade of music infused lives. The emotional tessitura is wide: the dark meadows of “The Balek Bad” reach us through like a mantra from the end of a dark tunnel, while just three track earlier it was a caribbean Zouk euphoria which ruled the world. Inbetween, it’s a wide spectrum of hybrid epiphanies : Hagen & Again is a progressive Dub jewel, even Krauty to an extent, where the instruments play the lead role. Cosmic Barry is across the Channel : thick and broken club music, sweating with subs, yet always disputing it to the Funk accent of the the keys and the slap bass. This list of Geographical and stylistic hybridations simplys goes on, and it’s the 54 minutes of the album that put an end to it. But beyond the never-ending list, this first album is alive : its gets us breathing the therapeutical air which fills the world of its creators.

Infectious and charismatic dream trance track by debuting mystery producer Moon Intern. Remixes by Helsinki-based artists ODJ Pirkka, RAD and ER transform the original track into mellow jungle, hypnotic trance and funky electro.

Sean Dixon, known from previous releases on Clone and Rawax, is back on his own label Final Chapter.

On this colorful four track record called Generations EP, he’s joined by Sheffield´s John Shima.
Opening the EP is Generations I, a raw piece, with chord stabs that are dancing around the percussion sounds and organ bass, with a vocal on top. Followed up on the A-side is Generations ll, a Chicago and Detroit inspired track with wonderful lush strings one top of the drums and vocal,. Generations lll opens up the B-side, with wicked melodies and a funky bassline.

The B2 track Generations IV comes from John Shima, who is doing a rework on Sean´s original sounds, putting his characteristic feeling and touch to it.

Future Tones Records is back again, the third release bring an EP by Fdez, one of the members on the label. The trip starts with a darky intro and continue with Electrified Chapter, scary vocals and killer bass. The A2 comes with an electro break trip with Migor. When change to B face, starts with a friendly collab between Omar and Fdez, Ahora sí!. The B2 changes a little bit with Shanguel, slowly breaks and basslines in the jungle. And the EP finish with an Outro.

Mr Jones is back from a trip down memory lane, digging in deep to bring you musical funk for the mind, body and soul. Picking up from where we left off, we take it a step further into more ambiguous, emotionally complex territory. After all, these have been trying times, haven’t they?

We begin with the hauntingly familiar melody of ghostly lovers who meet through generations in “We’re The OGs (Original Ghosts)”, and then we traverse to “Papolino’s Journey Into Hyperconscience” - the italo soundtrack for the end of the world. For the flip side, we live a tale of separation turned into soul-inspired electronics in “Ancestral Love”, and we end with “Let’s Start Again, Shall We?” - a groovy synth conversation that swings into introspection.

TRBO’s sophomore release adds another chapter to an unfolding story of inspiration through nostalgia. We will meet again in the future.
