Slow-burning rhythm filled with organic perc stabs and dense but deep bassline, Miller again in a genius way intertwines slow emotional story backed by almost raw harmonics but nevertheless well explained Detroit vibe.
B2 - After The Rain, which can be heard on Alton’s “Souls Like Mine” album released on the forementioned The Music Institute as a bonus cut. It’s a slow dance between reemerging bassline and subtle synth lines flowing on offset claps and smooth background bongos. pretty timeless stuff if the atmosphere is dimmed right.

»Infuso Giallo aka Philipp Carbotta originally hails from rural Western Germany, first cut his teeth in the music scene of nearby Cologne and conducts a host of activities in Berlin for a couple of years now – co-running the label Kame House, designing graphics and producing and playing leftfield electronic music. His debut LP Ocular Soda presents an intersection of these activities – self-released, self-designed and of course self-produced. Even before the first synth chords and reverse atmospheres of the two-part opener 'Every Waking Hour' tickle the ear, it is the eye that is drawn to the bright, cut-out style cover art – itself made up of two eyes on the front and what seem to be their rough shapes or discarded counterparts on the back.
To stay within that metaphor, Infuso Giallo's music is indeed of a reflective and calm nature, taking cues from Berlin School, library and New Age musics from roughly the 1970s to the 1990s – steadily repeating and slowly evolving ostinatos, lush digital pads, quirky filtered toplines and electronic percussion that mostly eschews four-four monotony in favor of much more subtle syncopations. Balearic bomb 'The Big Rip' with its big drums and acid bass turns the energy level up a notch while retaining the somnambulistic, lingering quality that makes Ocular Soda such a coherent listening experience – music on the sheath of waking and dreaming, both worlds and their inherent logics freely bleeding into each other. There are moments of great expanse, such as in 'Mole Gaze' – I couldn't help but see myself hovering somewhere in mid-air while the music unfolds as if on a great deserted plane below me. Maybe this is what it sounds like once the mole leaves his tunnels and takes in the sound of the world overground. 'Hello World', indeed, in its multitude of information to eye and ear, in its gently overwhelming quality. The title track 'Ocular Soda' closes the proceedings with a whimsical nod to 1970s botany-centered library music, its brooding chord sequence and sweet lead lines gradually fading in the distance. A fitting ending to an impressive LP of highly evocative, at times sombre and at times blissfully naive pieces that leave me yearning for more.«

It's An Epic, Grandiose Album, Which Rings Out With An Unfathomable But Extremely Touching Language.

Alterazione presents a critical statement – distinguished by its technical execution and breathtaking artistry. The album itself is a cathedral of sound, each cavernous chamber an exploration of space and consciousness. Presented in four movements (one track per side), altogether they extend as a transportive experience of evolution for the listener.

Iniziazione – a steady departure that unfurls like the opening of a portal; a process of molecular transfiguration commences. Panoramic landscapes begin to stretch wide, glistening with an exotic beauty, before the shamanic incantations of Rituale draws things deeper. Pulsating rotations push through the next phase of transformation, now drenched in hyperspace white-noise. The procedure continues through the quiet ethereal orbit of Metamorfosi, before finishing with the three-part Evocazione/Contatto/Risveglio; uplifting synth motifs drive forward with optimism, before fading back into the great expanse.

Alterazione is both cerebral and meditative, and one cannot help but be pulled at the core by its potency.

The second release on Pleasant Life comes from Bristol-based producer Remotif. “The Sound of Hope Played Backwards” is an EP comprising four tracks built up of ambient textures, ethereal soundscapes and broken percussion. Music composed as much for dreaming as it is dancing. Pleasant Life is a record label run by Ally Tropical.

Superkasety (new label from DJ Duch) and The Very Polish Cut Outs join forces to release the stunning debut album from ETNOBOTANIKA - a duo of producers from Ruda Slaska - one of the most exciting new acts on the Polish electronic music scene.
Their eyes and ears are turned to the hauntological scraps of the past - fragments of old Polish movies, communist era TV series, excerpts from half-forgotten Polish songs.

For their 7” debut on Where To Now? U mines the considerable depths of his MPC hard drive to present 3 snapshots of an artist shaking off their formative influences and commencing the journey to unexplored realms of the sampler’s universe.

'Junkies' has classical string stabs (that would later become a focal point on the sound of “Vienna Orchestra” (WTNLP05)) driven forth by dark, jazzy double bass licks, all shrouded in vinyl crackle and forced forward by a 2-step feel on the drums. It would have the essence of an early 2000s instrumental hip-hop track were it not for those drums shuffling off on a different tangent.

'Too Good For Me' toys more with the sampled nature of the music, throwing abrupt rewinds and record manipulation into a melange of rumbling industrial sounds led by a pulsing high-pitched melody. This is underpinned by a Bossa-styled beat that further unsettles the murky atmosphere of the track.

Finally 'Almost Man'’s exotic plucked strings and booming bass-heavy beat roll into snares in a marching rhythm that could reflect the march into the future for this unparalleled producer taking the lonely road to the outer edges of modern composition and electronic production.

By fusing fourth world, multi-instrumentalism and contemporary electronica into an archaeofuturistic experience, WESQK COAST experiments with practices of resistance on new album Clava.

Created through large interactions between heavily processed acoustic gear and electronic devices, Clava (Italian for club, mallet) delivers a range of emotions simultaneously tender and villainous. Fragmented vocals, pointillist hints, abstract strumming, cascading percussion and pop mutations unfold within this eight tracker conceived as a personal take on alienation and vulnerability.

Wesqk´s isolationist studio sessions escalated into a fiercely primal approach, leading the producer to the concept of an archaeofuturistic resistance in which subversion, provocation and irony function as tools for pricking small but palpable pinholes into the bias of rules, signs and symbols of musical genre so as to set up a possible—inclusive; yet un-named—sonic space.

Based on mental techniques, such as lucid dreams, semiotic squares, zen practices, sound manipulation, and a surgical use of language, the process of creation was freestyle, led by meditation and music therapy.

Born out of the head of three lost souls stuck between Maison-Lafitte, Place des Fêtes and the Island of Patmos, Les Cyclades are making music with electronics, wind apparatus and found sounds. Expect proto-balearism, saxophone techno and good disposition sounds.

Mountains Are Mountains" is a solo album that presents the sound of many moments scattered all over a period of Berke Can Özcan's (Ex-Konstrukt, Big Beats Big Times) personal time on this planet. He is a drummer, composer, writer, producer who keeps experimenting with all that is available to his one ear. Gongs, aquadrums, a vibraphone, a steel drum, a prepared piano, a vintage harmonium which smells exactly like a vintage harmonium, log drums, kalimbas, as well as his self-made instruments made of old keys, soda caps, flower pots, bamboos, the most lousy-looking pedestal fan in the world, bicycle bells, straw brooms, old toys, garden hoses and Buddhist-prayer playing machines are all played by himself.

All sounds were constructed by – or at least decorated with – sadness, passion, agony, curiosity, excitement, loneliness, bliss, nostalgia, bitterness, joy, whatever you and I and he knew that could be experienced. "Mountains Are Mountains" is yours to taste.

Somewhere in Berlin during a cold and foggy winter: Hyboid is recording his album “Sequencing the Apocalypse” directly to a 2-track recorder, using analog synthesizers and a couple of old effects units. Raw and no-frills. Influenced by the great French and German pioneers of the 70s, this is a soundtrack for dystopian minds in dystopian times!

6 years after his last release on the infamous Berlin “Just Another Beat” label (Gunnar Jonsson, Sven Weisemann, Rising Sun, Kim Brown, Jouem) Swedish producer Prostitune is back with a new EP. And we couldn’t be prouder that he chose Someguy Records as his outlet.

On behalf of re:discovery records, it is with great excitement that we announce the Adham Shaikh compilation titled 'Early Works 92-94'.

Adham Shaikh is a treasured ambient, dub and keyboardist artist out of Vancouver Canada who's early to mid-90's tracks found their way to seminal labels like Instinct, Dossier, Interchill and his own label Modulation Elektronik.

This collection represents a choice selection of key early works that begins with 'Ascend', whose spacey dub atmosphere is one of the 1990's hidden ambient dub gems. 'Vapor' complete's the a-side with its other-wordly trip into organic and spatial dub ambience. The b-side features the 16+ minute magnificent ethereal odyssey 'Windgate 11:11', that has been a fan favourite for over 25 years now. The 22-minute peak track named 'Oberon (Greymatter) that spreads across the C side was taken from his debut EP 'Realignment' of his Modulation Elektronik label in 1993. Perhaps the most proto-techno track on here, it is prime example of the freeform expression of the time in ambient dub. The last track featured here is one that shares the same title; Adham Shaikh's most revered and most beloved album 'Journey to the Sun'.

The second edition of Freakadelle’s ‘44’ series. ’44-2‘ is inspired by the collective’s annual Space Night event – an open-air event happening in front of the club, which aims to push genre boundaries and question the notion of what is nowadays considered the soundtrack of club culture.

Freakadelle residents and associated artists present themselves across nine diverse tracks ranging from free-floating and experimental electronics to more concrete experiments in leftfield club music.

LP+CD with live recordings by Icelandic Ghostigital & Finnbogi Pétursson from Reykjavik's legendary bar Sirkus & Gallery i8, as well as Danube Festival, Krems/Austria plus an exclusive radio hit. All tracks are recorded from extremely loud concerts with on-site ultra low frequency installations. Sonically this is classic – avant garde – electronic improvised noise & experimental music.

Greenhouse Vol. 1 is a striking compilation of new electronic music emerging from the far-flung western corner of the Australian continent; the Whadjuk region around Perth. The artists represented, themselves contributors- turned-alumni of the Greenhouse, have turned in tracks that deftly illustrate a long, dreamy evening inside the Greenhouse – “a place of warmth and recovery through the exchange of music and good company”.

From the opener, Mei Saraswati’s ‘Wannaz’, to the closer, Late Night Protocol’s ‘Drone Clarity’, there are palpable atmospheric and aesthetic threads running right the way through this Greenhouse compilation. CTP’s ‘untitled’ detours into gauzy dub techno territory, whereas Dentistry’s ‘Resin’ floats skittishly into almost free-time space.

Those familiar with Phil Stroud’s sublime drumming will likely also appreciate the exercise in restraint and colour he displays on ‘Harp Dub’. For those of you as of yet unfamiliar with Lia T, she follows up Sketches222, also released on Deep Water, with ‘Mini Jewel’, yet another strong addition to her growing catalog of loosely ambient sketches and field-recording-adjacent sound works.

Hame DJ and Roza Terenzi convene on ‘Pinky’s Network’, a percussive workout decked-out and resplendent in the sonic cues fans of each will recognise; similarly, Basic Mind’s ‘Sicilian Slide’ slips into the Balearic territory of prior outings with a robust, emphatic broken-beat. In addition, Leaving’s ‘Detached Lines’, a fragile, gorgeous spurling of meditative pads and phrases, touches on the best shades and tones developed across an expansive recorded output.

A smokey hookah lounge lies nestled amongst Saturn’s outer rings - for those who know where to look. Its sole occupant for a thousand years, the being known as Planar Traits.

Lick the cosmic toad and strap yourself in for a fourth ride on the Magic Carpet. Propulsive breaks and mystical atmospheres send us crashing through the waterfall, deep into the velvet jungle beyond.

HESITATION return with a heartfelt take on the Christmas record. A gift of seven traditional pieces fed through a brandy-oiled machine of analogue synthesizers and robotically assisted singing, festooned with wayward horns and primitive sprigs of guitar recorded in a conservatory in Dorchester.

The emotional hit of the results - from the deconstructed Macca synth and plucked harmonics of 'Good King Wenceslas', to the zero gravity glacial cloud that forms 'Once in Royal David's City' - is undeniable. Think John Fahey and Beefheart pulling an augmented reality wishbone, and you're halfway there.

Analogue Attic is back mid-March with the debut album from Alex Albrecht.
The ten-track project is entitled 'Campfire Stories' and features collaborations with label / production partner Sean La'Brooy, Allysha Joy (30/70), Thomas Gray and more.

Here Albrecht delivers his debut solo album which "explores dreams, the unconscious and the intertwining of feelings and memory.
Interspersed field recordings lend to the fragmented way people recall experiences. It is a narrative in which the listener is encouraged to attach their own thoughts and impressions to the soundscapes."

Since 2014, Alex Albrecht and Sean La'Brooy, better known as Albrecht La'Brooy, have released an array of material on Apollo Records, their own Analogue Attic Recordings and more, always leaning towards the deep, hypnotic and emotive side of House, Techno and Ambient.

The project was designed as a gapless album, intended to be listened from start to finish and welcomes a number of collaborations throughout with the likes of 30/70's Allysha Joy and Ziggy Zeitgeist (ZFEX), Thomas Gray, Carla Oliver (Badskin) as well as long-time musical partner and co-label head, Sean La'Brooy.

Boston's Dana Kelley aka Callisto is a man whose music has long been the subject of much deserved adulation. A student of the deep and soulful, an explorer of the melodic and galactic, and an artist who manages to capture imaginations with his supremely crafted sonics. He is a much missed artist, someone who departed the physical too early, but the body of work he left behind has spoken to generations of listeners, DJ's and fans in equal measure.

This, the second instalment of 3 compilations focused on Callisto's golden period of productions for the legendary Chicago label Guidance Recordings, sees even more of Dana's most highly coveted work featured side by side, chock full of rarities and classics.
A celebration of the man's music, his vision and the forward looking nature of his music that is still intact today. It's hard to think of someone with a more unique style and with a truer idea of their own sound-world. Callisto takes us deep inside, into other worlds with his own individualistic take on house, techno, ambient and even jungle and D&B.

These compilations celebrate one of the most idiosyncratic artists from the second wave of US house music producers, a truly essential body of work presented here respectfully, sourced from all audio sources courtesy of Above Board Projects, Guidance Recordings and Dana's family. Mastered by Curved, London and with special artwork by Atelier Superplus featuring a never before seen image of Dana from his family's photo albums.

Brooklyn-based musician and producer Varsity Star makes his Small Pond Records debut with ‘More Than Anything’, a mini-album of deeply moving and emotive electronic music.

Varsity Star is an electronic musician and upright bassist who grew up in Boston and spent time playing with various bands as a multi-genre sideman. After deciding to go it alone and produce music on a synth and Ableton, he had a spell living in Berlin. Now back in Brooklyn, he has become a prolific artist who, in just a couple of years, has put out various singles, remixes and LPs. As a programmer by day, he has put together high spec live shows involving 3D printers, soldering together LEDs and writing his own programs that read Ableton and output light patterns, he is a truly creative mind.

There is a soft and warm late-night melodic glow to the beautiful opening ambiance of 'Christmas Lights' which then makes way for the prickly live drums of 'Mixtape.' Littered with off-grid hits and detuned synth sounds, it's a modern and electronic take on jazz that is deeply absorbing. 'Bedroom' is a gorgeous affair that floats on airy pads and scuffed up, organic drum sounds while the most innocent of melodies play out.

In the summer of 2018 Beachfreaks Records founder and celebrated crate digger Charles Bals threw open the doors of Club Meduse, an imaginary open-air venue on the Cote D’Azure where the obscure but inspired soundtrack is always humid, sun-kissed, synthesizer-heavy and proudly European. The resultant compilation was acclaimed by both music critics and record buyers, so two years on Bals has once more joined forces with Spacetalk to re-open Club Meduse for another imaginary summer season beneath the baking-hot Mediterranean sun. Acting again as in-house DJ, Bals has dipped into his personal stash of obscure, overlooked and little-known gems and selected a soundtrack rich in drowsy chanson vocals, glistening Spanish guitar lines, Latin-tinged drum machine rhythms, rushing Fairlight stabs and sparkling synthesizer sounds. Having gone to great lengths to track down the musicians behind the music, he’s joined in the virtual DJ booth by a wealth of forgotten artists whose magical music he holds so dear.

This time round there’s an undeniable 1980s flavour to proceedings with all but one of the tracks – Claude Miss’s African-influenced 1990 Balearic pop shuffler “Paco Ye Adame” – being produced and released during the decade. As with its predecessor, Meduse (Retour au Club) contains a mixture of off-kilter, barely known dancefloor cuts and the kind of drowsy, slow-motion tracks that are best suited to lazy afternoons by the pool and early evenings spent squinting towards the sunset. In this category you’ll find the ambient-pop bliss of Lili’s fretless bass and Flamenco guitar-sporting “Gitana Morena”, the slow-motion brilliance of Belgian outfit Capco’s “No Vayas Al Sol” (featuring the vocals of future Benelux pop star BeaLuna), the trumpet-laden magic of Nathalie David’s “Coup De Foudre (Instrumental)” – a track written by her songwriter father Jacques Bendavid – and the Mediterranean pop slickness of Jean-Claude Watrin’s “Game City”.

If dancing in your Speedos or swimming costume is your thing, Bals also has you covered. Check, for example, the “Midnight Mix” of Jade 4 U’s Praga Khan produced 1988 gem “Rainbows” – a prize slice of new beat/synth pop fusion powered forward by a bold, headline-grabbing bassline – or De Dion’s “Sexy Cola (Glu Glu Version)”, a jaunty, hard-to-explain mixture of pop cheeriness, Art of Noise experimentation and summer holiday glee. Or for that matter the reggae/zouk/electro fusion of Les 36 15’s effervescent “Zoulous (Remix)” and the boogie-era Gallic jazz-funk of Marc et Frank’s “Cap’tain Coke” – a cut recorded in a Paris studio by two prisoners on day release, jointly funded by the French ministries of justice and culture. When you’re done dancing, there’s plenty to soundtrack those wide-eyed late night romantic moments too, not least the bubbly, 80s-soul influenced chanson delight of Weekend Millionaire’s “Exit”, the gentle reggae/synth-pop fusion of L’s private press delight “La Boite Musique” and Cecilia’s seductive synth-pop shuffler “Chocolat”, the B-side of a seven-inch single that now changes hands for hundreds of pounds online.

MIDTGAARD is danish Balearic DJ/ producer Anders Midtgaard. Sommerfugl (means Butterfly in danish) - the Original version was handed out to a few DJs in Ibiza last year. First up Italy's finest, Luca MOPLEN has in masterful style been re-working this piano driven groover that oozes summery flavour all over. The package here also comes with a great balearic re-rub from Denmarks Mike Salta (MFD) and the Original version. Support and kind words from the likes of Kenneth Bager (Music For Dreams), Francois Kevorkian, Phil Mison Colleen Cosmo Murphy, Willie Graff and many others.

This release on Next Phase Records sees label boss Infest continuing to explore the expressive world of atmospheric sound design, this time without the aid of drums or bass.

“Barriers From Within” is the follow up to his second album “Time Will Tell”, it contains two fifteen minute compositions of opulent synths and lavish guitar melodies. Cinematic in feel, both tracks have a bewitching spellbinding quality, starting enigmatic and ambiguous they swell with optimism as they begin to unfold.

Although more commonly known for intricate drum and bass releases these productions highlight a natural talent for crafting free-spirited and captivating soundscapes. Infest’s most personal work to date, “Barriers From Within” was recorded using only a guitar, FX pedals, synths and a loop station.

Out Moving Windows is a 7 track LP out early October from Sean La'Brooy, co-founder of Australia's Analogue Attic and one half of Albrecht La'Brooy.

Currently based in New York, La'Brooy presents an emotional and contemplative record that leans on acoustic instrumentation, drawing on collaborations with a range of New York and Melbourne based jazz musicians, and a remix from Other Joe.

Those familiar with the nine records released under Albrecht La'Brooy will recognise the expressive piano and synth lines that feature.
Here, the piano Jazz and Improvisation graduate creates space for long-form solos from himself and featuring instrumentalists.

True to what we expect from the ever-maturing Analogue Attic, this is a listening album; orchestrated pads with dance-leaning rhythms meet piano chords, guitar and brass melodies.
Arranged with the idea of the contemplative state experienced during a solo commute, as the name Out Moving Windows alludes to.

The Lucky 9Teen EP was seen as one of the most seminal releases in the post-Dilla age of instrumental beat led music that took hiphop as its cue then threw out the rule book. Slott in particular brought a delicate touch and unique quiver of samples and production techniques to the table. From his Heralds of Change project with Hudson Mohawke to his split releases with Martyn 3024 and Dabrye - Slott was very much seen as part of this new beat generation sitting alongside Flying Lotus, the late Ras G and others bringing his unique blend of futurism alongside a respect and free-spirited appreciation of the jazz age. Since those early releases Mike has continuously released music including his meditative Mirror Mirror project and Lesser Pieces - his energetic vocal led collaboration with Diane Badie.

Vignettes was first realised as a performance piece at the Edinburgh International Festival in 2011 as Slott provided a live re-scoring of The Return (2003), the debut film by Russian director Andrei Zvyagintsev. Stripping the music of its original intention it becomes an incredibly gorgeous,emotive,shimmering body of work. To describe something as an imagined soundtrack seems cliched but Slott manages to create an entire world to fall into.

Grand St., the upcoming release on NYC's Maddjazz Recordings, is a 7-track EP from the duo Pharma - the musical group of long time friends, Sam Katz & Milo McBride. While they’ve spent the past years operating in different musical landscapes, Pharma is their most recent collaboration and features guest performances by rising stars, anaïs + Wati Heru.

At its heart, Grand St. is pop music, but performed through a dusty lens of bittersweet melancholy. The release is offered both in digital formats on all platforms and as a limited 12" Vinyl (100 copies only). The artwork + design was done in collaboration with Phil Wong and Lucas Mascatello.

The album ‘Hope & Light’ holds an energy of warm & light textures with an array of talented musicians involved in the project.
All produced and creatively directed by Zeb, the music embodied here is a detailed insight of Zeb’s explorations as a composer, producer, sound engineer and performer.

Throughout the album, we hear Zeb on Keys, Synths and of course vocals.
In his own words, he describes his music as Jazz, but only references Jazz as the freedom of movement within his music and his expression of improvisational music. It’s hard to categorise as one type of sound, but touches on many different genres, with Jazz, Ambient & Bass being strong forces.

Zeb's music has already been supported on BBC Radio 6 Music, Clash Magazine, Magnetic Magazine, XLR8R, Kid Fonque's 5FM, by Belgium Tastemaker Lefto, Soulection Radio's Joe Kay and as a producer, he has worked with some of the most prestigious names in the music industry. As a label manager, he has released works from Ash Walker, Synkro, Djrum, Escapism Refuge, Lewis B, DFRNT, Congi, Geode, Versa & Rowl and Vivek.

For its second vinyl release, Eternal Ocean is proud to present ‘Static Flow’: the debut EP of Timo Bürgler AKA Awo Ojiji. Creating his own unique sonic world, Awo Ojiji has delivered a four track body of work that feels at once fresh and familiar. Opening the EP, ‘Lifeforms’ swings out of left field with an off kilter swagger sure to inspire more than a few unique dancefloor experiences. On the interior comes ‘Grainhive’, a groover that strikes a deep and rare balance of emotive texture and raw bassline energy. Flipping over, we find ‘Laura’s Lodge’, perhaps the most oblique tune of the bunch, where slick and expertly crafted percussion compliments the alien sound design that rides out the tune into its own dimension. Closing the record, ‘Swarm Align’ invites the dancer on a journey inwards, deftly maneuvering through a myriad of sonic waypoints until finally finding its way home, to be filed straight away under ‘Deep/Last Song’. Based in Graz, Austria, and having honed his skills alone and through close involvement with the disko404 family, Awo Ojiji steps up in offerance of a unique and personal statement. Taking influence from the current climate and deep history of electronic music and finding a space that is honest and genuine, this is music for the body, mind and soul.

Disposición Asoleada (spanish for sunny disposition) is the moniker of the Ecuadorian music citizen³ David Jarrín. Active in the Brussels psych and noise scene since 2003, his explorations range between acoustic lo-fi experiments to eerie soundscapes, from glitch electronics to raga oriented transfigurations on a six string banjo.
