Hinter Colo stecken die beiden Londoner Produzenten Ben
und Nick, die sich im zarten Alter von 17 während ihres
Studiums der Musiktechnologie kennenlernten und als Act
namens Transonic Storm mit Tracks wie - Boys will be
trousers' (für die Ewigkeit konserviert auf MySpace) ihre
ersten gemeinsamen Geh- oder wohl eher Gabbaversuche
unternahmen. Mit dem Alter kam die Einsicht und nun ihre
erste Single unter neuem Namen auf Ki Records: - Holidays'.
Und es ist wirklich ein bisschen Urlaub für die Ohren, was
die beiden da gebastelt haben. Keine Spur mehr von Happy
Hardcore.
Auf der A-Seite lädt der Original-Track Holidays zur sanften
Reise - ein Downtempo-Track mit mystischen Vocals, die
sich über den kompletten Song erstrecken um den
perkussiven Rhythmus zu untermalen. Durch eine raue
Soundästhetik und verträumte Synthchords gewinnt Holidays
an Tiefe - und die Hörer einen ziemlich guten Eindruck
davon, was ihnen auf dem Debütalbum des Londoner Duos,
das bei Ki Records erscheint, im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes
blühen wird.
Auf der B-Seite legt dann unser Labelveteran Christian
Löffler Hand an und verpasst dem Original mit sphärischen
Klängen und knisternden Drumsounds seine eigene
Klangschrift - ohne dabei zu vergessen, noch etwas
Tanzbarkeit hinzuzufügen. Nicht nur für Fans des
Löfflerschen Schaffens ein flockiges Highlight, das vom Ohr
direkt ins Herzen wandert.

For the next OUTNL we prepared a package with 2 of our favorite artists of the moment. On the A side we have a track by Glaswegian 'James Johnston' who has had an immense year with releases on labels such as Fine Art, Under the Shade and Boogie Originals. We are very pleased that James decided to release his deep burning ''That Was Now'' on Outernational. On the B side we find Ben La Desh. Who returns to Outernerational with the breezy but ferm ''Drug Carrier''. While his previous release 'Doctor Bills' is still making it's round through the clubs and podcasts. We are sure Drug Carrier will even turn more heads.

The third offering on Public Possession's sub label 'Under The Influence' provides the listener with four remixes of Bell Towers' last Territory EP. Two remixes come from Hong Kong based Samo DJ who co-runs Born Free records together with Sling and has already released on L.I.E.S. amongst other imprints. Also on remix duty Manchester man Ruf Dug who always stands for quality and needs no further introduction. The package is completed by a Spectacle remix. The Munich duo consisting of Benjamin Röder and Muallem are long time close acquaintances to the Public Possession Organisation and will surely be heard of in the future.

Born and raised in Addis Ababa, Seifu attended the French school Lycee Guebre-Mariam as a child, and went on to study music production at Ramapo College of New Jersey.
Mikael Seifu is an Electronic music producer & performer from Ethiopia. Seifu's music is a fusion of Ethiopian folk, UK garage & his own dream brew, which he calls "Ethiopian electronic."

In 2012, Ed Banger was proud to announce its collaboration with Laurent Garnier and the release of its EP "Timeless". One more time, Ed Banger and Laurent Garnier work together to give birth to a new remixes EP of the track "Jacques in the Box".
The first remix, signed by the french-germanic Gesaffelstein and Brodinski, has been long-awaited by everyone since it was announced by Pedro Winter during the Ed Banger 10 years' press conference. It offers a rythmed and delicious heady collaboration strongly inspired by german influences. On its side, Chicago Bordelo delivers a clearly dynamic and electric sound giving new techno impulsion to the track of french electro Grand Master.

On the back of an exciting debut album in 2012 that saw him perform live at Sonar festival and later with his band at Vienna's Volkstheatre, before disseminating music on Permanent Vacation, Suol and Connaisseur Recordings, enigmatic Basque Country producer El_Txef_A returns with his sophomore longplayer 'We Walked Home Together'.
El_Txef_A (pronounced 'Elchefa') has crafted a work that just like its journey-conjuring title, charts a shifting palette of sounds and moods, exemplifying its creator Aitor Etxebarria's breadth of skill.
Produced entirely in Aitor's homeland of the mountainous Basque Country, the album showcases the talents of not just its creator who producers, sings and plays piano on the record, but also some of the Spanish region's most outstanding musicians.
Local artist Biskonti is one contributor, whose vocals coat a brooding bed of rough-cut drums on the ice-cold slice of electronica 'I'm Going to Paint You', while Hannot lends his pipes to the moving 'You Left Us In This Physical World' that sweep over a delicately crafted brew of guitars and keys. Both Basque vocalists featured on El_Txef_A's debut 'Slow Dancing in a Burning Room'. Sublime title track 'We Walked Home Together' turns into a family affair, with Aitor's brother Hibai playing the grand piano.
A graduate at 2013's Red Bull Music Academy in Madrid, El_Txef_A has an impressive array of sonic strings to his bow and the Detroit techno inspired 'Claim of Planet Earth' deliciously rubs shoulders with the album's single, the alternative slice of pop 'The Love We Lost' featuring DFA's Woofly.
Elsewhere, Aitor paints a dream-like soundscape with the sublime shoegaze-inspired trip '0730' that seamlessly bleeds into 'Every Day Is Blue Monday', with its atmosphere-heavy swirl of subtle acid lines, floating synths and evocative vocals delivered by Suol records contributor Meggy.
An artist whose music is inextricably connected with his homeland, the album concludes with the stirring 'Mugarrirantz' sung in the native tongue of Euskera by country folk band Napora Iria. It's proof that El_Txef_A is equally adept at doffing his cap to tradition as moving a dancefloor with his inspired brand of electronica.

The idea behind LBL is very simple.
We keep getting sent music that we really want to own on vinyl, so we've decided to start pressing these tracks ourselves.
Everything we have scheduled has a club feel, but past that we think you'd be hard pushed to pinpoint a specific style which dominates our releases.

For our first release we have music from Scott Fraser (Crimes of the Future), People Get Real (Join Our Club), Jamie Blanco (Ess O Ess) and Joonipah (Nixwax). We could list a whole load of meaningless genres to describe the music to you (Machine House, Neu Acid, Bashment Techno and, er... Hi Tek Soca () ) but we think it's best you just listen and make your own mind up.

Currently, all LBL releases will be limited to a pressing run of 300 copies.

As cool as a California coastal breeze, Sleazy McQueen's "TTOF"'s pure disco heat, while Osmose "Do What Cha Doin" is breezy deep disco female vocals paired with a dense slomo groove. Hand stamped gold jackets.

For its 2nd 4 track V/A EP Foto welcomes more new artists to the roster in the form of Andy Hart & Max Graef (AU), MermaidS (UK), and Riff Clichard (Outer Space). Hot on the heels of his successful autumnal tour of Europe, the antipodean beatsmith and low-riding soul-brother, Inkswel, arrives on the eighth 12 from Burek Records. Considering Inkswel's been working with people like Merwyn from Virgo Four, Gifted & Blessed and Linkwood for the third release on his own Hot Shot Sounds imprint, we weren't surprised when he told us about the recent collaboration he'd had with Dave Aju. Naturally we were keen to get this out into the world, complementing it with great remixes and additional tracks from Inkswel. The A-side comprises three funkadelicious, shape-throwing, pop-locking slices featuring the talents of San Fran's Dave Aju, Melbourne's Cazeaux O.S.L.O, Christchurch's Isaac Aesili and Adelaide's Charli James. They wear their shared love for hiphop on their sleeves, replicating old school sampling techniques and twinning them with a feel for modernity. The open kicks and sax thrills that begin 'No More Suckas' cement syrupy pads and swirling keys as Dave Aju rhymes about that classic conundrum, being given the chance for a night of intimate relations. Rotascoping blips and pads combined with fat bass work underpin the conscious spoken word poetry of 'Mind Yours', and 'Saturated' closes the side with razor-sharp claps, wonky chords and 808 cowbells laying the foundation for vocal call and responses. In classic turntablist style the bonus beat track 'Oishi Stylus' is also included, evoking the Pacific Rim's interconnectivity with its Nipponese flavours cut over solid beats. This ain't hip-house, it's hiphop-house.

Producer Mark E hails from the West Midlands, an area of the UK that was at the heart of the industrial revolution and was also hit hardest by the decline of UK industry in the 1970s, and again by the economic crisis of our own time. It's an area with a distinct sound and atmosphere, one that manifests in the music of artists as diverse as Black Sabbath and The Specials, and one that plays into many of the ideas behind Mark E's new record Product of Industry.

The album's title is a subtle nod to the producer's past and heritage. He explains, "The name lies in the manufacturing past of the area I grew up, (and) the manufacturing past of my family. (It references) how the decline of industry in the Midlands UK changed the landscape physically and socially — I'm now a music producer and DJ, and this is totally different to my grandparents who were truck drivers and sheet metal workers. (The title discusses) how things have changed, and it's also about how I came to be in this position, due to the current global financial situation. I lost my job due to it, (which led to me) trying out music — and here I am, a product of industry, both currently and
historically."

Daniel Dexter, well-known for his expressive productions, presents this classical piece of house music that has one undeniable influence: Jazz. The sample might evocate a 90s Hip Hop feeling, reminding of that summer of our youth when girls still tasted like ice cream and music still came out of your portable ghettoblasters. But combining very earthy old school drums with the sax playing its intriguing twirling melody, Dexter's focus on the pure essentials gives the track an inimitable contemporary sophistication.

Who could put warmth into a track with long stretched bass sounds better than a Swiss That's why we have Animal Trainer straight out of Zurich aboard, emphasizing the track's laid back summery feeling by accompanying it with lots of ear tickling tinkling, dreamy synthie pads, and hand made drums. It all builds up, little by little, towards the ultimate break that will put you to the state of complete madness.

We knew that Audiojack is always a sure shot but this time they outdid themselves. They boys from the industrial allyes of Leeds made a killer track topping understated coolness with hard drums and short crisp synthie steps that pierce your brain, two goose bump moments included that will keep you wanting to just go 'yippeah yeah!!!' over and over again.

Martin J. Thompson is the man behind the alias Pokk! and he has the very interesting and creative sound blog Mono-log where he post a new sound every day done with his Clavia Nord Modular. He strips away the beat structure of FLFLP and replace it with a punctuated sub bass that is roaming in a slightly distorted dubby soundscape.

French brothers Baptiste & Pierre Colleu have been making music together since they were children. They spent a chunk of their childhood in Africa, which they say has inspired their work in the studio. That influence is submerged fairly deep on 'Dolphin Kid,' the title track for these two EPs. There's an undercurrent of eerie soulfulness and woody percussion accents running through this oddly alluring cosmic-house seducer, but its roots are more Balearic than Afrobeat.

The five remixes of 'Dolphin Kid' enhance the Colleu brothers' original in incrementally fascinating ways. On 'Coyote's Intense Mix,' the respected UK duo augment the laid-back rhythm with nuanced 303 twangs and boldface the hand percussion to magnify its latent funkiness. L.I.E.S. recording artist Willie Burns slows 'Dolphin Kid''s pace to a majestic, hollowed-out, dub-funk strut. It's unfathomably deep. Seattle tech-house maverick Jon McMillion serves up the most twisted, sinister version here, warping the main synth part into a disorienting swirl of borborygmi while intensifying the rhythmic urgency and expanding the sound palette. The second EP concludes with two masterly remixes by Black Merlin. His 'Romance in the Dark Mix' turns 'Dolphin Kid' into a chilling, Goblin-esque piece of dungeon ambience. But it's Merlin's nearly 13-minute 'Peyote Mix' that really reels in the cinematic magic, as he launches the cut even deeper into the black, adding thrusting, throbbing disco kicks and enough horror/thriller-film soundtrack signifiers to give John Carpenter a perma-grimace. Poor 'Dolphin Kid' has come to a gory, but very exciting end.
