Röyksopp and Robyn are proud to announce the release of the 'Do It Again', an incredible 36 minute 5 track mini album which will be unleashed on 26th May 2014 and precedes a new Röyksopp album to be released later in the year.
The 'Do It Again' tour with Röyksopp and Robyn includes a headline slot on the 6Music stage at Latitude Festival on 19th July.
'Do It Again' is the first single from the mini album and is an 'accidental pop song' written after a night out together in Bergen. It is one of the most effervescent, effortlessly uplifting electro-pop tunes of recent years, and started life as a rave-inspired throwback.
Elsewhere, the mini album covers big thumping house in the shape of the club-ready 'Sayit'. On the other end of the spectrum there is the closing 'Inside The Idle Hour Club', which utilises Robyn's vocal discreetly to create a pensive, slowly evolving soundscape that's worth diving headlong into.

Producer Mark E hails from the West Midlands, an area of the UK that was at the heart of the industrial revolution and was also hit hardest by the decline of UK industry in the 1970s, and again by the economic crisis of our own time. It's an area with a distinct sound and atmosphere, one that manifests in the music of artists as diverse as Black Sabbath and The Specials, and one that plays into many of the ideas behind Mark E's new record Product of Industry.

The album's title is a subtle nod to the producer's past and heritage. He explains, "The name lies in the manufacturing past of the area I grew up, and the manufacturing past of my family. It references how the decline of industry in the Midlands UK changed the landscape physically and socially — I'm now a music producer and DJ, and this is totally different to my grandparents who were truck drivers and sheet metal workers. The title discusses how things have changed, and it's also about how I came to be in this position, due to the current global financial situation. I lost my job due to it, which led to me trying out music — and here I am, a product of industry, both currently and historically."

The compilation shows clearly the skills and the taste of Julian Sanza, one the most experienced and talented DJ nowadays, and a great selection of tracks from the Strictly Groove's recent catalogue.

Like the parent label, Optimo Trax will release music by new artists and excavate forgotten classics.
Optimo Trax is an offshoot label of Optimo Music for tracks aimed at DJs/dancefloors. Yes, we know there are too many record labels already, but we felt an overriding desire to start another one as so much music that didn't seem quite right for Optimo Music (i.e. music that was specifically designed for dancing) kept coming our way. Like the parent label, Optimo Trax will release music by new artists and excavate forgotten classics.


Michele Mininni is from Southern Italy where he says people are not interested in his type of music so he was forced to reach out to Glasgow where it turns out some people most defintely are. Citing his influences as kraut, post rock, new wave and electronic amongst others, this is his debut release and most accomplished it is too. Lowering the tempo somewhat compared with previous OT releases, Tupolev Love is a sub 100bpm cosmic trancer while Telekomdisko raises the tempo and heads off into sun drenched space territory. The EP is completed by Michele's fellow countrymen, Boot & Tax's great acid-inflected remix of Tupolev Love.

It's been a long time coming but Norm De Plume (Delusions Of Grandeur) finally follows up his initial 2011 Plumage release with two more contrasting deep disco re-works.
'Ohio Replayed" a deep, sparse groover with a chugging, swinging drum pattern.

The signature NDP slow-building intro in full effect; the filters slowly opening to reveal more choice sampledelica and building to a cresendo. Then we switch into super deep mode with some heavily effected organ chords buzzing and pulsating before the track builds again but only to die, slowly back to the swinging drum groove that started everything off in the 1st place.


Flip over for "Stretchin' Gretchen" a repetitive, looped up Brazilian Disco work-out! An ultra-repetitive groove with vocal chanting throughout - cut and looped a'la Ron Hardy (Norm's hero and inspiration) and switched up with some funky breaks and fills, the clever working of filters and a nice little bridge section. Add some heavy-duty shuffling samba-house drum programming and you've got yourself the samba-house equivalent of Frankenstein's monster!

Catherine Ringer (from Rita Mitsouko) sings Müller & Makaroff (from Gotan Project) This is the story of two worlds sizing each other up, meeting and getting to know each other. On one side, the Argentinean Eduardo Makaroff and the Swiss Christoph H. Müller, the two pillars of Gotan Project, looking for extracurricular activities: to establish a bridge between tango and pop music, with original themes. To help them do this in style, a few female singers agreed to step out of their usual repertoire (rock jazz flamenco). So they started to write for these singers and established a list of singular and prestigious vocalists outside of the world of tango. On the other side, Catherine, who in the recent years managed to impose the name Ringer, one of France.s great voices, who very serenely succeeded in building a career for herself after the Rita Mitsouko: after 30 years in a band that marked French rock forever with its peculiar style, she has bravely established herself as a solo artist. And then. A phone call was enough. Müller, a die-hard fan of the Rita, suggested Catherine Ringer. Makaroff tried his luck. Immediately, Catherine said: .Who does this gorgeous Argentinean accent belong to. Makaroff mumbled: .Well, I have a project that.s not typical, or nostalgic, or Gotan, or Rita Mitsouko.. .Why don.t you tell me what your project is about., was her answer. Edouardo took it as an encouragement. The Gotan pair brought her the lyrics and arrangements for two songs. She recorded the vocals. They were amazed by her ease. Christoph Müller called it .organically natural..

One of the leading lights of a growing collection of electronic pioneers from Russia, Muscovite Anton Zap steps up with an album of gloriously deep, beautifully produced music for Apollo Records. With a background in sound engineering, a back catalogue stretching back to 2007 and a DJing career that goes back a decade further, Anton Zap's music is imbued with a serious knowledge and understanding of electronic music - from ambient movements to the late night thump of deep house proper, here is a producer who is as comfortable making out-there space soundscapes as he is Detroit-influenced dance-floor weapons .
The collection of tracks here includes a selection of previously released material (on Jus Ed's Underground Quality imprint and Anton's own Ethereal Sound) going back as far as 2008, along with three brand new tracks seeing a release for the first time, and the overarching feeling is of a portrait of an artist who has been slowly, steadily carving out a singular niche.

The name Memory08 is derived from the two sound sources that were used to create the record: the Memorymoog and the TR-808. together with his buddy dj kent the japanese producer and ardent record collector kza already wrote some music history. under the name force of nature the two friends from tokyo created a rich oeuvre of not dated music under the guidance of their large vinyl collection.

beside their own work they produced and remixed in and outside of japan artists such as dj shadow, five deez, sly mongoose, or keiichi sokabe.

in the last years force of nature been quite in terms of collective production work. kza, who once started his music career as a dj for hiphop, soul and funk, released a solo album and a string of highly acclaimed 12inches on endless flight while dj kent emerged with his own unique sound and musical style to one of the most highly respected djs of japan.

now kza is ready to release his second solo longplayer - dig & edit 2' - an album whose title tells much about the production of itself. like for the antecessor - dig & edit ' a voluminous record collection and the ears of an unlimited music lover has helped kza to shape his unique sample based arrangements.

anew he went through his vinyl library between midnight and morning searching for miscellaneous rhythms, harmonies, and melodies that he could turn into something fresh, new, and singular. as he is in love with loops and trained his ears by the work of sample grandmasters like pete rock, large professor, or marley marl he knows exactly where to cut and edit - a skill that makes his music never sound like a conventional edit production.

with plenty of studio artifice, the help of his friend kuniyuki, and some super tight editional bass and rhythm programming that has been added to the original sources he produced tracks that gently balance between breezy disco fever, laidback balearian slowmo emotions, and highflying house attacks.

each of them is full of sensual grooves and is charged with catchy folk, rock, disco, or library samples who's origin can be only deciphered by those who dig records as deep as kza does.

of course, all listeners who aren't into record digging will have plenty of pleasure too. because it is not necessary to know which mysterios source kza used. one can easily be carried away by his wave of grooving arrangements without thinking about where they are originated. some of the tracks that are listening to german and french names like - computerstimme' or - vous dansez' evoke the feeling of a sweaty disco night, some feed hungry house floors with real deep fodder, and others are ready to function as a sunset soundtrack wherever the sun goes down.

when kza produces them he had a dancing audience in mind that moves to his exquisite dj selection. that is why each track carries the groove to the melody and way back to deliver music that took some inspiration from the past in order to spread something that is made for the future. as kza would like to have the superpower of teleportation he invented it by himself.  it is musical model and it can travel very far!

SKYMARK an old passionate of soul, brazilian music, jazz and obscure disco from the mid 60's till the mid 80's. Thanx to his older brothers he have been exposed to these kinds of music since my childhood.
He have been spending most of his spare time practising on the keys and listening to records in search of the soulfull waves that give he the goosebumps and red eyes.
he started recording music since late 2005, some rap, deep house, disco influenced productions. Nowadays he is a bit disconnected from electronic music and i am preparing a kind of brazilian jazz influenced album.
He dont have a specifiq musical genre, He just record what comes out of my soul depending the moment.

Following their 2012 'Danza' EP, barcelonian duo Aster return to Hivern with 'Cielo', probably their most accomplished track to date. Builded around crystalline piano chords, soaring choral pads and laid-back rhythms, the title track captures the kind of melancholic euphoria reminiscent of the rave era from a slo-mo house perspective. A vocal snip taken from from British rave culture documentary 'High On Hope' closes the connection circle with the rave days, both sonically and emotionally.
Belfast-born, London-based stellar duo Bicep proves they remain on the top of their game delivering not one, but two flawless remixes. Their first reconstruction, which occupies the whole A-Side, is a house stomper guided by a extra-rubbery bass-line and elegiac vocal samples that transforms the track into a dance floor-ready artefact without losing it's celestial nature. The second remix is a more classic affair, diving into swinging rhythms, M1 strings and a bouncy bass to get that mid-90s Jersey House vibe that the duo keeps nailing.
As the first Aster EP, the release comes wrapped in the second serial sleeve conceived by Alex Trochut and designed by catalan artist Montse Buxó.

An offshoot of the veteran London party - shortly about to enter its 20th in business - run by Djhistory's Bill Brewster and Frank Broughton, their opening salvo is a collaboration between Bill and Kiwi new bucks Chaos In The CBD (brothers Louis and Ben Helliker-Hales).

The track was written and finished in less than two hours at the end of a session in the Red Bull Auckland studios, the day after Chuck Brown died.
An appropriately go go-esque rhythm was found, some brilliant outboard gear lent to the boys by Recloose supplied the sounds and Beans & Company was born.

Says Bill:'I was trying to imagine what Chuck might sound like if he was making modern music now, and came from Grimsby, rather than Washington, DC. I think he'd approve.'
Chaos In The CBD relocated to the depths of south-east London late last year, where they currently reside and are now starting to make waves on the European electronic scene, with a recent debut at Fabric, and releases under their name on ClekClekBoom and Needwant.

Beans & Company are currently working on a follow-up, which involves contracting Chuck Brown via ouija board to ask advice about the excessive use of roto-toms.

During off map excursions Seahawks encounter the WOO tribe, legendary creators of celestial tones.

Via mind-meld the two groups merge and blur to create two eleven minute plus journeys that explore the outer reaches of mystic disco, warped house and psychoactive boogie.
Drenched in delay and smeared with hazed reflections of a thousand birds lost in a tropical jungle mist, the results leave you fazed, stunned and overflowing with euphoric intent.

Designed with the most creative dance floors in mind, both journeys are deep, disorientating and empowering.

This release is in league with the wonderful Emotional Rescue label whose recent re-release of Woo's "Whichever way you are going, you are going wrong" album has brought so much joy to the world.

Newly born, Retiree, recently kicked its way through the musical birth sac and into Sydney's live scene, with a spate of vitalising performances. The four mammals who take stage, Tori Holleman, Ryan Powderly, Marco Vella and Matt Crowley have shimmied their road cases through many tight stage doors over the last twelve months, consistently presenting an evolving repertoire of artful tracks to thirsty ears. The band's well-arranged melodies and ideas are translated by a variety of instruments both electronic and acoustic, and are importantly not lost during performance. Among those recently engaged were founders of Sydney's burgeoning Plastic World label - swiftly leading to a Retiree's very first EP to be released early in December. Dance record commissars, Suzanne Kraft (Running Back Records) and Andras Fox (Home Loan Records), have leapt with uncommon keenness at the offer to remix the single from the upcoming 12 release. It is likely then that the EP will give listeners a refreshing emulsion of dance floor cadence and tempered vibrancy - something not seen all that often on debut releases.

Andrew Fox has spent nearly a decade in New York City sketching psychic spaces and emotions like a cinematographer in conversation with himself, reckoning with demons, seeking understanding. His debut four-song EP as VISUALS arrives October 27th on Nicolas Jaar's Other People imprint. Fox formed a three-piece band called VISUALS in 2012, choosing the name as an oblique reference to a debilitating ocular disorder he suffered as a child. His previous releases were a series of cryptic self-released 7 singles written in collaboration with drummer Marshall Ryan—but Fox felt further development was still needed. He went into hibernation, experimenting and playing solo electronics sets in small NY venues, and writing new songs. VISUALS' EP is a collaborative relay race between like minds. After recording and producing much of the arrangements himself, Fox handed the songs off to Darkside guitarist Dave Harrington for a final round of mixing and edits. His partner Nicolas Jaar finished the job, lending the record a distinctive psychedelic thump that fits Fox's songs hand-in-glove. Over the course of its all-too-brief runtime, VISUALS' EP pits the soulful against the inhuman, evoking everything from Broadcast's eerie, hermetic pop experimentation to Prince's minimalist sex funk. Songs like 'Solve for X' and 'Remote Control' are bottom-heavy love songs to an uncertain future, propelling Fox's cracked, weather-beaten drawl through a gauntlet of rubber-band basslines, bone-dry drum machines and deft sample manipulation. While much of VISUALS' EP is a clear product of the dog days of the early 21st century, closing track 'Fifteen' is something else altogether, a transmission from the heart of Old Weird America, all acoustic guitars, telephonic vocals and unsteady drums.

After recently inaugurating its run with a crop of tunes aimed squarely at the dancefloor, Brooklyn's newly launched Peach label—an imprint headed up by TURRBOTAX® co-founder Rem Koolhaus—has shifted gears on its second release, broadening its vision beyond the club and offering up a pair of wonderfully immersive tunes from Earth House Hold.

The Earth House Hold moniker may not be familiar to everyone, but the man behind the name—veteran producer bvdub (a.k.a. Brock Van Wey)—has been notably walking the line between deep techno and ambient music for nearly a decade. And while most mentions of Van Wey's name almost inevitably lead to talk of his highly prolific nature—he's issued something like 20 full-length albums since 2007—his output as Earth House Hold has been far less frequent. It's ostensibly his "house" project, something that can be traced back to his days as a regular in San Francisco's deep-house scene during the '90s. It was an influential time for Van Wey, and though his music makes no attempt to revive that sound—the aesthetic is unmistakably his own—the era has certainly left its mark on him.
That said, there's nothing "retro" at work here. Both "Back Where I Belong" and "A Little Late for That Now" clock in at nearly 12 minutes, and find Van Wey constructing a delicate lattice of shimmering, crystal-clear melodies and soulful, slow-burning vocals atop a slow-motion house skeleton. Without question, the music is "deep," but there's an undeniable—albeit subtle—pop current running through these compositions. It may be adventurous to say that the tracks recall the sultry glow and hypnotic excellence of artists like Sade, but Van Wey's vocal-heavy approach harkens back to a time when soul and R&B singers could actually sing, and his tunes carry a similar emotional wallop. Someone could easily get lost in the expanse of Earth House Hold's compositions, but even if that happens, it's a safe bet that they won't be in any hurry to find their way back out again.
