MOTHER RECORDINGS don't let up on the release schedule pressure as they look to returning label artists MAT.JOE for a new two tracker. This Berlin based duo are one of the most talked about duos on the circuit at the moment with releases on Toolroom, Hot Creations, as well as MOTHER in the last 6 months. They also received a best newcomer nomination in the recent DJ Awards for Ibiza and have also had two number 1 Beatport Tech House Hits in 2016. They are known for really cooking up fresh club sounds each and every time they release, and this new BLOW YOUR MIND EP is no different.

DANCE MACHINE goes first and is a rolling house cut with rubbery drums and slick bass. Vocals add fuel to the fire, some colourful melodies bring the soul and the whole thing really will kick start any set and get people on their toes.

On the flip, BLOW YOUR MIND is more quirky and left of centre, with high pressure drums and wonky bass all laid over by a freaky lead synth line that has a life of its own. It adds a freshness and funkiness to the drums that builds and builds to a tense and sensory peak.

In the previous reissues we talked so much about this fantastic piece and "Marie", a very cinematic and supportive song, that now it is appropriate to dwell on the re-visited version of Danilo Braca that extends beautifully on the AA side of this new remastered reprint. Danilo who lives in the big apple often frequents Ibiza, perhaps also for this he has been able to exalt the most rhythmic elements of "Shadows from Nowhere", putting the beautiful falsetto beats to excessive movements, just like the waves that wash themselves on the sandy beaches of the White Island. His teacher Mario Gentili from Layer Bows added a beautiful arrangement for the strings and his Italian-New York collaborator Alvise Marino spread some fragments of guitar powder on top. That's it. 9 minutes of pure bliss, but also of catchy rhythm!

Posthuman’s cult label reaches number 20 – featuring Luke Vibert’s return to the imprint named after his own iconic track, with a full album of purist acid. Ten tracks over a double album, all written on just three pieces of analogue early 1980’s hardware: Roland’s TB303, TR808, and JX3P. Housed in a gatefold sleeve & black paper inners with artwork by Cat Galcera, featuring the equipment used on the album and nothing more.

To the inside, to a calm and warm place where sound resonates with your body in quiet bliss, or to the outside where the rhythm wants you dance, even without moving? „WTMCT“ gives an answer to these questions that is complex yet extremely easy to understand in an immediate sentient and emotive way.

Menelaos music is unusual and unlikely both with respect to the structure and arrangement of tracks, and the materiality and spatiality of the sound. And yet these sounds convey an immediate sensation of familiarity and ease, of beauty and relaxation. Menelaos utilizes loudness and extreme dynamics in a thoughtful and intriguing way to accentuate strange runaway sounds while maintaining the continuity of the flow of the tracks, which is Ambient to the core. This is a rare art in our time, where hypercompressed and superoptimized glossy sounds dominate most of Ambient, drone and even deep listening music.

In this aspect the album follows and refines the subtle production skills of seminal electronic artists like Jan Jelinek or Terre Thaemlitz a.k.a. DJ Sprinkles. What is genuinly special about Menelaos music is the natural and seemingly effortless fusion of challenging experimentalism and a warm and soothing organic sound-design. This shows exemplary in the collaborative tracks with trombonist and bass trumpet player Achim Fink, a founding figure of the Cologne jazz and free improvisation scene of the eighties. Achim is uncompromisingand in times disruptive play merges perfectly into Menelaos serene soundscapes.

This way „WTMCT“ became a genuine album. It tells a story. It invites deep exploration but it does not demand it, thus transcending common notions of how Ambient or Electronica should sound. Text: Frank Eckert

Our imprint marks its five years anniversary this year and to celebrate it’s offering up five special various artist packages across 2019 limited to 250 copies each, featuring material from the likes of Vid, The Mole, Cinthie, Shinichiro Yokota, San Proper, Akiko Kiyama, Com Sin aka Cosmin TRG, Subb-an and more..

Kicking off the third instalment of the series is San Proper’s ‘Your Call’, a robust yet dream house workout fuelled by choppy bass hits, fluttering synth licks and a shuffled analogue drum groove. Barcelona based trio Triad follow with ‘Room N’, a hypnotic house cut fuelled by ethereal chord swells, modulating percussion and vacillating bass tones.

Tokyo’s Iori Wakasa then rounds out the release with ‘Rave In A Village’, as the name would suggest embracing a classic house feel via a winding piano chord, twinkling piano melodies, crunchy drums and mesmeric pads throughout.

This project also sees a new design concept for the imprint from London’s David Surman’s painting installation project ‘Paintings For The Cat Dimension’ which ‘’explores the motif of the cat as emblematic of internet aesthetics, a place where all painting styles and modes now exist non-hierarchically as pure information.’’

For our next release we joint forces with our friends from the 31337 Crew. The three tracks from Echoton unite drifty grooves and organic minimal accents. The second and third piece are collabo tracks with Sven Laux and Pachyderme and they focus on laid back hypnotic groove - like a trippy somnambul session through badlands. Keep an ear on the creative output of these great guys! Yarn Records' third release comes hand stamped in a recycled paper bag with a sticker and a length of 27 minutes. The 6th reference of Clásicos del Ruido is the result of a collaboration with Aitor Arch and Femur Club (club of reference in Madrid), and it is exclusively produced by artists who have performed at this well-known parties. The record opens with 'Utopia', a luminous, evocative and fascinating track by the German artist Hyboid, the undoubted leader of space and cosmic sounds. The British artist Kid Machine replicates on the same album side with the track 'Fighting fears', which includes echoes of disco and Den Haag sounds.On the other side of this 12', we will listen first to 'Monologues', a hypnotic-percussive track signed by the renowned French artist In Aeternam Vale. 'Non auro, sed ferro' by Hesperius Draco closes down the album, fizzing among their usual coordinates: horror disco, retro wave and soundtrack sounds. An album that brings together different artistic sensibilities in which both Clásicos del Ruido and Femur feel comfortable. All tracks compiled by Aitor Arch, Der Kapitan & Gus Van Sound.

AWSI is a young Producer, DJ and Software Developer with an Associate's degree in Psychology. Influenced by artists from all over the globe, went on refining his sound signature and technique in 2018.
So far, his output consists mostly of minimalistic yet energetic house, micro and tech-infused beats. Being a fast learner and a curious individual is constantly working to further grow his sonic palette.

Bondage Music reveals the latest installment in its 'Bondage Games' series this March as Sascha Dive, Frink, Toman and Philipp Gonzales deliver four original compositions for Part 5.
Launched in 2008, German imprint Bondage Music has established itself as quintessential imprint for many within the world of stripped back, high quality house music, releasing material from the likes of Mihai Popoviciu, NTFO, Markus Homm and Tuccillo across the past 12 months alone. Their 'Bondage Games' series has also become a key fixture in the calendar, and here we see the label follow up their 2018 instalment with another vinyl only EP this March, with four fresh productions from Sascha Dive, Frink, Toman and Philipp Gonzales.
Frankfurt's Sascha Dive opens the package with 'Dark Night', a slick house cut guided by deep, dubby chords and entrancing vocals, before Frink's bubbling 'Vega' ups the energy and welcomes bright melodies amongst rolling percussion. Next, emerging talent Toman fuses skipping hats and a heady low-end groove as he reveals 'Time To Time', before Philipp Gonzales combines hypnotic lead synths, refined percussion arrangements and suspenseful builds throughout 'Open Hips'.

It's not the fall that hurts, it's when you hit the ground - that's what - Failing Upwards' is all about. On Lehult's fourteenth release Lucky Charms breaks away from 4-to-the-floor territory to deliver a fun trip through skippy drum workouts and jazzy warmth. Spread out across the full A-Side is 'Einbahnstraßen-Sound". Heard first on the Lehult Worldwide FM Special last year, this highly requested tune finally sees the light of day in all its trippy, warm, analogue glory. 'Oase' takes things a notch deeper by layering lush synths, swarming melodies and ski field recordings over a laid back electro-groove. 'Rex Dubius' translates the vibe of the first two tracks into a more straightforward, dubby groove - not without the skipping beats and the warm counterparts, though.

Recorded in a Brooklyn basement during a couple of cold December days in 2014, the collaboration between Ryan Martin (DAIS Records, modular synth wizard) and Joachim Nordwall (iDEAL, analogue synth lover) became something very special, raw, intense and powerful.
For all the clamminess and cold, ceramic finish, there's soemthing hypnotically magnetic about the way in which the duo musically converse, neither trying to outdo the other, rather allowing the other room to manoeuvre within the frequency spectrum, from the sludgy gathering of energies in Exposing the Absurdity of Superstition to the ecstatic vocal charge which soon calves away to an oppressive, greying battery in of Retrace/ Reverse, before the elegant, sashaying repetitions of Ricochet Around The Triptych lure us into a deeply somnambulant headspace with only the slight hint of violence lurking bedside.
Thanks to engineering by Kyle Keays Hagerman and cold mastering job from Kris Lapke (Alberich), Martin & Nordwall's music is subtly petrified, pensile, frozen in place as a special document of that night in the basement..

Archeo Recordings is a reissue record label that regenerates old, lost, obscure and forgotten rare gems of mostly Italian music but also all over the world of the 70s, 80s and 90s.

Solid Uncoated returns with its second release, again compiling four productions from the inner circle of its network. D'Evoé opens the feld with »Failures«, a gloomy and cavernous hardware track resembling the bassline and pad recipe from S/U 001 in a more offensive manner. Next up is Arian Alexander, one half of the Monogenic duo, with »Pakchoi«: A lesson in sub-heavy, effective purism, pushing sparse chord stabs over a swinging 909 rhythm. Opening up the fipside there is Bool again, another acquaintance from the frst 12", delivering his trademark peak-time sounddesign within a massive, morphing chord sculpture.
The circle is completed by Sub Accent from France, another newcomer to the S/U family, represented here with an amtmospheric track of industrial-leaning, widescreen ambient techno. Limited to 300 hand stamped copies.

Mysterious Berlin label MASK return in 2020 with a vinyl only release consisting of a pair of raw cuts entitled ‘Marilyn’.
MASK preserve their esoteric philosophy of delivering well-crafted, modulated house and techno cuts produced on hardware equipment and ‘Marilyn’ certainly follows suit. MASK releases are the result of anonymous artists live jamming together in unison with the first five releases picking up support from the
likes of Laurent Garnier, Marcel Dettmann, Elena Colombi, Machine Woman and many more.
The A side is 13-minute voyage featuring fluttering, resonant drums, lo-fi synth stabs and growling oscillations that take the focus in the later stages while on the B side sweeping pads, spacey undertones and squelchy, acid soaked sci-fi elements keep the sonical experience obscure yet fascinating throughout.

Tiefschwarz’s Souvenir label kicks off the 2019 year in brilliant form with an EP from Germany’s Metaboman (Musik Krause), featuring 4 mind-melting slices of underground dancefloor weaponry perfectly stripped back to the most essential elements. The EP, ‘Einseins’ is Metaboman’s debut offering for the Berlin imprint, and easily one of his most ambitious and expertly crafted releases to date.

Title track, ‘Einseins’ starts the EP out in perfect psychedelic form with a shuffling, low-slung piece of late night weirdness. Punchy and muffled beats move underneath robotic vocal snippets, aggressive claps and cleverly placed acid squelches. A subdued vocal loop adds the perfect human element to the surreal shaker, keeping things equally playful and wicked.

Robag Wruhme joins the release with a remix of ‘Einseins,’ featuring his beloved ability to fuse unexpected twists and turns with an unstoppable dancefloor delivery. The steady drum arrangement provides the perfect momentum for Robag’s quirky creativity to shine through. Unique and clever, this remix is another shining example of a talented producer at work.

‘Jena’ was clearly created when Metaboman was in an incredibly good mood, as the vibe is nothing short of playful, happy and outrageous. The vocal takes the spotlight on this party rocker, with a funk-drenched freestyle session of soulful magic. The beats and effects perfectly balance out the funk with enough chopped up swing to keep things on the right side of wrong.

Rounding out the release is ‘Mood Boy,’ the deepest cut on the EP. Focused on bare-bones beats and a few perfectly placed vocal samples, the track leaves a wonderful amount of space for haunting melodies to creep in and out of focus. It’s afterhours music expertly suited for musical moments geared towards entering the rabbit hole

It is with great pleasure that Atmos brings you their first release. Since the birth of the agency in 2013, the Atmos family have grown in leaps and bounds - working with extremely talented artists, curating amazing showcases and now releasing some truly amazing music.

The release opens with a track from Arapu, who's been working hard in recent years. 'Arial' incorporates dark and moody vibes with various other sounds, using an eclectic array of textures that come through as the track goes on.

'Chillantro' follows, a groovy sounding number from Tulbure. The percussion drives the track perfectly, picking up various effects and atmospheres on the way, rounding the track off nicely for the listener. This track could be heard day or night, and is guaranteed to shake bodies everywhere.

Piticu wraps up the release with another solid production named 'The That'. Using well programmed drums, vintage sounding synths and modular sounds, this track brings a slightly more experimental sound to the dance floor.

Official remastered limited edition of Cellophane project from 1984 produced by Alessandro Novaga, one of THE major influences on Chicago House Music with his trio of releases -Drums-, -Electronic Drums- and -Faces Drums-, all essentially EPs of tough electronic bonus beats, creating the blueprint for many early Windy City productions. He was also behind other such hugely influential cuts as Stopps -Im Hungry- and -Ali Shuffle- by Camaros Gang. Here on his Cellophane album, which came after the huge -Gimme Love- single, we get what I guess you could describe as his magnum opus. The album consists of just two long tracks (or suites perhaps?) that take the listener of on an epic psychedelic italo /space disco trip like no other. Heavy use of synths and drum machines expecially on the part 3 !
