German duo Silky Raven, aka Jakob Seidensticker & Henrik Raabe (a.k.a WAREIKA), drop their latest effort 'Seychelles to Rave' on vinyl for Beirut based label Fantôme de Nuit.
Silky Raven go straight into it with the sweltering A-side Seychelles to Rave'. Complete with tropical stabs and percussion, a kick drum pushes the track forward as it builds and expands. By the time it all drops out for the tunes compelling bassline it's too late, you're hooked.
On the first track of the flipside, Jupiter to Jupiter', the duo takes a more disco-tinged approached. True to the tracks name this spacey effort, makes use of retro sounding keys and flashes of acid to induce memories of another dimensions.
Billions', the EPs final and darkest track, is a deep slow burner. The perfect end for a rave in Seychelles. A brooding bass line drags along as some clever percussion keeps the listener light on their feet. This is a track for the latest of hours and is sure to revamp the floor.

The first track on the B side, 'They Told Me' is a uplifting tune, with clinic-cut sampling, powerful vocals and beautiful percussion. Last but not least 'Remember How it Used to Be', a groovy arrangement of pads and vocals topped with a killer bass, ideal for club use. Considering that this one blew our scale, we hope you enjoy this record as much as we do.

Reevolution is the name of the EP in question, and while it may allude to some sort of political overtones, the one thing that'll leave you after listening to this EP is the statement of the music on offer. In original title form, ''Reevolution'' is dark and atmospheric but driving too, the sort of track which quite expertly plays on the talents of both producers. Full of mysticism and breathy vocals, it's restrained when it needs to be but also full-on on occasion.
On the remix front, the guys welcome Metodi Hristov to the table. His take on the track is more straight up and set towards a strict path, although it too isn't lacking in the ambiance stakes. Yet more excellent work from the label, we're quite sure you'll be digging this one for some time to come.

The Fruit Band's fleeting existence was only recently revealed by the discovery of a few unsold copies of their sole 1978 single,Say It, which quickly became a cult showpiece for savvy DJs and collectors. Athens of the North has since reached out to Cypress Studios of Jacksonville, Florida and discovered a complete album of the group's stylish, dancefloor-smashing funk and deep disco on tape, unreleased for over 30 years. The first remix of the ep comes by the skilled hands of the legendary Berlin artist Nadja Lind (Lucidflow, Wolf Trap). Nadja has played with the synths and percussions of the original track, adding a good dose of darkness, and converting it into a techno master piece. As If that was not enough, the also Berliner Dompe (Style Rockets, Playmobil), has added tones of groove to "Need Of Nicety", having as a result a perfect track for your peak time sets. Dope!
