Back in 2009 My Rules label owner Justin Van Der Volgen released a mix cd done completely with his own edits titled Try To Find Me Vol 2. The mix was received incredibly well and had fans scrambling for years to try and spot the track list. It earned a 4.5 review on Resident Advisor, and had a certain rather known and respected DJ opening their sets with it. Since then the status has only grown and is now considered by some one of the best mixes of all time. So to mark the 10 year anniversary Justin has decided to finally release two of the most requested edits from it.
On the A-side you get a high powered vocal cut from Peggi Blu which comes on like a lost Chaka Khan anthem.
Flip over to the B side and you'll find Gregg Diamond's charging string-laden disco trip stripped back into a hypnotising euphoric roller. Two peak time cuts not to be missed. Fully licensed.

Setting out to make some 'happy music', Sophie Lloyd produced Calling Out' in a dreary January as an antidote to the pervading doom and gloom of the news, summoning the power of the most joy-filled sound of all, gospel. This no-holds-barred anthem radiates all the live atmosphere of gospel worship in mid flow, with full instrumentation, keyboard breaks and understated kick drum pulling it all together. Bringing in the uplifting voices of soul trio Dames Brown to re-record some old gospel samples was the icing on the cake, adding the last element of authenticity. A new member of the Classic family, Sophie Lloyd's impeccable knowledge of disco, soul and house shines through in this sparkling record, available on 7' for the very first time.

In 1982, Donna Summer’s ‘I Feel Love’ - which had re-defined dance music on its original release in 1977 - was remixed by Patrick Cowley and became a huge dance floor anthem once again.

Five years ago, Cute Heels brought his unique blend to Schrödinger’s Box with Nepotism. The Colombian now returns to the Glasgow label, this time with a mini-LP packed to the rim with stone cold quality.

Steady kicks give way to juddering bass and epic strings in the dynamic changeling that is “Beyond The War.” Shadows are cast by the EBM stained “Er Ist Nitch Du” and the smoky “Present Images” under the alias of Syndikat Komando Klub 98. Yet, despite these darker shades, the 12” is filled with brighter tones also. As Victor M Lenis R, “Breath of Freedom” beams with synth-disco laden lines. “Strange Forces” takes a similar path, chords shimmering against aquatic pads that bask in warmth. An italo streak enters with the playful melody and sun- soaked keys of “The Awake (Mexico City Mix), radiant notes countered by strong pulsing percussion.

Beyond The War is a record as diverse as its creator. Traversing a spread of styles, Cute Heels has created a 12” that blurs perceived genres whilst maintaining the energy and zeal of the club.

The motorcity boys are back with LOVEiT003 a fresh sounding 4 tracker strongly reflecting the diversity of styles found at their parties. lds kicks thing off with 909 To Heaven, a jacking and balearic workout with a rootstrax, Chicago style bassline keeping the floor hypnotised until the small hours of the morning. Snares, Kicks & Rhodes is a more laid back jam. Lazy warm pads and a slow winding sub bass rise and fall intermittently only to be interrupted by a lo-fi distorted bass that snaps you right out of that trance. Nico Brun opens the flip side with an absolute banger, hazily reminiscent of that 90's warehouse rave. lds and Nico Brun close the EP with an atmospheric collaboration perfect to start or end the night with. Splashy beats keep up the footwork whilst pulsating synth sounds slowly wind together and drop with a beautifully crafted sample that's guaranteed to bring some sexyness back to the dance floor. New York vocalist Kosmo Kint joined the Toy Tonics crew. Born in Trinidad and raised in New York City, Kosmo has been part of the recent Brooklyn scene, singing in several projects in NYC before moving to Berlin two years ago. To find like minded people to create new lyrics driven dancemusic.

In Berlin he teamed up with the Toy Tonics boys and now TT boss Kapote and the crew are working with him in Berlin Kreuzberg to find a new R&B & Disco influenced style of electronic dance music.
The first release is a collabo between french talent Mangabey and Kosmo Kint - produced by Kapote.

This two songs have a chilled L.A. G Funk Vibe that makes you think about certain Dr. Dre productions from the 90's combined with some broken beats and 4 to the floor house vibes. The song might remember some french touch tracks too and some might think about that West London early 2000 „Dego“ Vibe maybe. ... Anyway, its new and there is not a name yet for that style. Let’s see where the TT crew will bring Kosmo Kint sonically over the next years.

"Don't Touch My Sister" is Romain Azzaro's Rouge Mécanique début Album. Cinematic hazy instrumentals and a heady mix of post-punk, Italo disco, ambient and noise shine through Azzaro's dedication to his signature Telecaster slide-guitar, bringing acoustic life to electronica. Citing the visual realm as a strong influence on his music, Rouge Mécanique's releases are often accompanied by short films and hand picked design. The 'Prelude' video for 'Don't Touch My Sister' was born of a collaboration between Romain Azzaro and the film maker Louis Vignat, as inspired by the cover artwork of Les Beaux Arts de Paris artist Jeanne Briand.

Kolja Gerstenberg serves up a funky four track lo fi House and Disco EP for Lumberjacks in Hell. The German drummer has previously released on Suol and Smile for a While.

Phillipi is set to release his debut solo EP ‘Amadurecimento’ on November 29th via DEEWEE, the multi-faceted label and creative space operated by brothers David and Stephen Dewaele (2manydjs, Soulwax).

São Paulo duo Phillipi & Rodrigo dropped their beautifully uplifting debut album ‘Paciencia’, which earned the backing of an eclectic array of supporters including 6 Music, Mixmag, DJ Mag, PAPER, Tiga and Joe Goddard + more.

While ‘Paciencia’ pulsated with a euphoric beach party vibe, Phillipi’s solo project explores much darker territory. By uncompromisingly maximising the bass alongside a relentless beat, lead track ‘São Paulo’ is immediately oppressive and ominous. That intensity only amplifies as it’s blown open with tribal percussion, almost whispered vocals and glitchy synth stabs. ‘Vibe De Verao’ then takes a more progressive approach, with minimalist techno constantly evolving in surprising and inventive ways.

The EP’s second half extends Phillipi’s impossible-to-pigeonhole approach. In complete contrast to the preceding tracks, ‘9000’ is cinematic in scope and lighter in tone, feeling like the score to a lost ‘70s sci-fi cult classic that’s been reworked for 2019. And ‘Gelo Seco’ caps an unorthodox sonic adventure by setting a spliced, stuttered vocal simple around a dancefloor-friendly soundscape - making the title, the Portuguese phrase for dry ice, entirely appropriate.

As with all DEEWEE releases, ‘Amadurecimento’ was recorded, produced and mixed at the label’s inspiring headquarters Ghent, Belgium.

In order to celebrate 5 thrilling and inspiring years, we gathered well-known artists, Goldmin regulars and emerging talents. It was really important for us to express the elusive nature of the Goldmin sound, in the form of a compilation tracklisting. Over the past 5 years, we had the chance to meet most of these guys in person, follow their very own creative path, share ideas, thoughts and there's no doubt that they all had their part to play in crafting our sound. This intimate and stimulating kind of collaboration had to be expressed and there couldn't be a better way to capture what we've been busily working for, than a serie of Various Artists 12". What it comes down to is a quintessential, hard-to-follow Goldmin selection devoid of any specific standard or norm. And this whole compilation seems to reflect that non-septate artistic direction, this little something, which has grown throughout our whole catalogue, since the label's birth.That's why, picking these select few tracks, that could illustrate Goldmin Music's essential freedom was probably our toughest work yet. It was also important to pick only the most original and iconic tracks from each artist. In the end each track had to be their most Goldmin one and they all have been tried in all types of situations, in club at 1 and 5 AM, on the highway at night or even staring at the ceiling during a sleepless insomnia session. They all fullfilled their duty.

Das Komplex joins up with the King Of Kong imprint to release four soul-infused tracks entitled ‘Reverse Hallucination’.

After spending years as a bedroom musician and occasional DJ Marcin Lukaszewicz, modest producer from North-Western Poland known as Das Komplex debuted four years ago on local FASRAT label. Since then he became one of the most respected Polish producers, releasing an album on Catz’n’Dogz’ Step label, as well as singles for Young Adults, Love On The Rocks or People Must Jam. His very singular, hazy breed of sample- based house-derived music made its way to sets of numerous high-profile DJs (from the late Andrew Weatherall to Axel Boman), eventually making its way to no other than DJ Harvey, who invited Marcin to play at his Pikes Ibiza residency, and included one of his tunes on his recent ‘Mercury Rising’ compilation.

Das Komplex comes to King Of Kong with a new package of mind-bending yet club-ready tunes, proving his skills as master of contemporary disco music with a romantic twist. ‘Maybe There’ starts slowly with a lazy, syncopated beat only to introduce a bass riff of mammoth proportions, which carries the track for its 8 minutes - by the end reaching a proper dancefloor momentum. ‘Stay’ starts with a piano melody and hazy synths to be transformed into an epic, 10-minute mid-tempo disco groove, with live instruments and angelic vocals, a neon-lit lullaby for early morning hours.

‘Lagos’ takes a slightly darker route, but even here a heavy, percussive groove is brightened by bursts of uplifting piano, while ‘Sounds’ keeps the hazy vibe going, with layers of unintelligible voices over a smoky groove..

Tunnelvisions (Raynor de Groot and Emiel van den Dungen) originated from a shared vision of contemporary club music. They believe that the club scene - that is often focusing on a colder, abstract high-tempo sound - needs to go back to a more organic approach. It's one of the goals of their newly created Tunnelvisions project: We aim to bring back the fun to the dance floor again'.This vision brought the two musicians together - through hypnotic, exotic and grooving productions they tend to offer something new. In the studio, Tunnelvisions combines elements from South American, Caribbean and African sounds. With a background in house, techno and pop, they created a nine track LP that takes you to different places in the world. Each track title is based on a river or desert. 'Guava', for example, is a Jamaican river: This song is a sort of naive interpretation of reggae, pop and club music'. Tunnelvisions already performed at the legendary Melt Festival, Georgie's Wundergarten and various festivals in the southern parts of The Netherlands, the place where Emiel and Raynor are currently based. November sees the release of their debut LP 'Midnight Voyage' through Atomnation, an album that already found support by Aera, &Me, John Digweed and Anthony Fantao.

The Magic Silk EP marks ROTCIVs return to Luv Shack Records - with three fresh original joints, this time alongside brother in arms Das Komplex, who delivers two new originals on the B side.

“It’s the Magic” is an italo infused house track, brimming with dramatic leads, a super tight and intelligent drum sequence, deep harmonies and solid bottom end. While being a lot slower in tempo, “Your Highness” lacks nothing in the power department - a fat rhythm section and a soaring acid line are the spine of this extraordinary cosmic stomper. Lastly, ROTCIV takes us on to a trippy tropical island with the synth heavy shuffler “Moleggio”.

On the flip, we have “Silk” by Das Komplex. Starting off as an EBM track with industrial feel, it gradually evolves into a hypnotic chugger with a sneaky boogie Bassline. The EP closes with “Aurora”, a perfect blend of NY disco attitude, synthesizer weirdness and balearic sleaze.

This first EP is inspired by earlier prodcutions adding in the mix today’s codes and references.

Listening to the EP, one can hear samples and Lo-Fi works as well as the sound of mythical machines like the TR909 and TB303.

For this first realease, we have been eager to put the spotlight on artists we strongly believe in, who are rising talents

of the French House music scene: Madcat, who is often featured on the Pont Neuf label, and Deborah Aime La Bagarre

who is close to the Parisian crew Vryche House.

The artists and founding members Basile de Suresnes and Ten Fingerz complete the roster.

All-conquering Dutch heroes Kraak & Smaak have taken the electronic music scene by storm in recent years with a slew of killer collaborations with the like of Mayer Hawthorne, Romanthony (RIP), Eric Biddines (Golden Rules), Parcels, and many more. Their live show has seen them play every festival and club worth the mention from Glastonbury to Detroit Movement, Coachella to Space Ibiza.

After their debut album 'Boogie Angst' established them in the spotlight with heavy Radio 1 support from Pete Tong and Annie Nightingale, the band followed up with breakthrough albums – 'Plastic People' and 'Electric Hustle'. In the special occasion of our 10th birthday we felt that we had to create something really memorable, bringing together in two vinyl some of the most influential artists who took part in the making of our history and some new ones, yet prominent and successful. All of them had a fascinating mission to accomplish honouring the concept of ‘Jazzy’ which is the notion and approach set ten years ago as the fundament of Apparel Music and we can plainly say that they’ve won the challenge, brightly. They produced eight stunning tracks which represent an ideal declination of the requirements you need to enter the AM family. The roster of artists behind this record perfectly represents the international soul of the label and very much speaks for itself, from our head honcho Kisk to ‘The Voice’ Robert Owens, our longtime family members Ivano Tetelepta & Euge`ne Latumeten, the Swedish Salary Boy, the great Tuccillo with his recognisable style, the American Fred P who’s music is the best introduction of his abilities and needs no further presentation, to the youngster Chevals with his bright talent. The final side then is the debut’s side with the iconic Art Of Tones who’s career as a pioneer of dance music speaks for itself and last but not least the marvellous duo Marcel Vogel & Tim Jules, also new to the AM family, who’s baptism fulfils our high expectations. A list of virtuosos worth an All-Star Game! The opening track is ‘Your Face’ by Kisk & the supreme and unrivalled voice of Robert Owens, with a bunch of great musicians who took part in the creative process: the Cuban Gendrickson Mena (trumpet, Saxhorn), Max Lagana` (Bass) and Nate Lotz who recorded some grooves on the drums. In A1 resides the concept of Jazzy; the dialogue between man and machine which is still, in the modern era, the perfect equation to produce music. Starting from some old, dusty samples here’s surely one for the records, fully embodying Kisk’s approach to music production. A2 is ‘Hearme’ by Tuccillo. The Neapolitan born but Spanish adopted is a veteran of the Apparel Music’s family, that’s why we’re so happy to have him leaving his mark once again on a special occasion like this Bday. His track perfectly epitomises his sensuality, profoundness and sensitivity as a producer, being capable of expressing through his music some of the distinctive characteristics that AM aims to communicate. The Deep soul of Fred P comes out in all its strength in his track ‘From The Other’ kicking off B-side. We're delighted to have the American producer on board as his first appearance on AM leaves no doubt about his huge talent as a music maker, while B2 is an Ivano Tetelepta & Euge`ne Latumeten’s affair with ‘Where Have You Been?’ and we’re overjoyed to greet again the pair who’s back on the label with a really special production. The dreamy pads and the punchy rhythm section helped by the smooth vocals are yet again the logotype of the Dutch duo. The second vinyl begins with Salary Boy and his ‘Piano House’. The London based Swede's production is the perfect way to start the C side with its classic yet modern touch. Another gem to add to the collection. Chevals then takes over in C2 with ‘All I Wanna Do Is Love You’ and we’re so happy to see a skilled guy like him being recognised in the music business, as sometimes a label's purpose is just to be the perfect filter of someone else's visions. His track is another tangible example of his qualities. Then, to kick off the D side we got Art Of Tones with ‘Never Sleep’, a fabulous funky groove with a compulsive rhythmical attitude where the Parisian House icon displays his musical genius in a track genuinely crafted to fit the mood of the Apparel 10th birthday. We’re really proud to have a guy like Ludovic on board for this project as he’s been eager to join our gang since day one and that’s the perfect occasion. Is up to Marcel Vogel & Tim Jules to complete the masterpiece with the last brushstroke which is an experimental and modern tribal beat with masterly arranged keys and superb percussions. The sound research of this track is quite astonishing and, in its whole, is what may be the loop you’d play over and over again to open or close a mesmerising DJ set! Finally a very special and important mention for the artist and friend of the AM’s clan Marco Fantini, a true visionary who blessed us with the chance of choosing amongst some of his stunning artworks for the covers of the record. Each production, indeed, has a different and dedicated piece that reflects its mood. Thanks Marco for having such an important role in this creative process! Two all-time classics penned by Disco legends Ashford & SImpson, get the DFP touch this time around with the evergreen and world-conquering dancefloor anthem 'I'm Every Woman' taking up the A-side of this release. Illyus & Barrientos were the names on everyone’s lips last year as they continued to impress with every single release and DJ set throughout 2018. They return to home label, Toolroom, with a vinyl release of their latest singles ‘The One’ and 'Shout'.

In true Illyus & Barrientos form ‘The One’ is a peak-time, raucous affair with gospel like vocals laid over the top of some insanely hooky brass sections and pounding drums! While ‘Shout’ is crammed full of fun and energy much like the personalities of these two Scottish heroes as they layer that classic Loleatta Holloway vocal over a tough and driving tech house backing.

Occupying a musical space somewhere between the relentless Afrobeat pulse of Fela Kuti and the interstellar sensibilities of Sun Ra, The Golden Dawn Arkestra come to RNT Reserve with a magical EP of summertime bliss. Known for their spectacularly raucous live shows in their hometown Austin, Tx and around the globe, this release captures two of their groovier songs from their last album, never before released on vinyl.

With the originals on either side of the 7”, the 12” contains a sun-soaked remix from Austin Ato, a pulsing tropical mix by JKriv, and a disco chugger from Dicky Trisco.

The second Keep on Wankin EP continues Hell Yeah label boss Marco's on going quest for the perfect remixes. This time out he serves up the most Balearic Gabba influenced material yet and takes you on a trip to the clouds with Bjorn Torske and Fango both stepping up.

First up is Bjorn Torske's take on everybody's favourite Luminodisco tune 'Oh Mary.' It's an impossibly adventurous 11 minute epic with buoyant chords dancing over trilling guitars. Lush, multi-layered and brimming with musicality, this is the sort of dubbed out yet percussively lively masterpiece that will mark the high point of any set as it washes over you time and time again.

Then it's to Fango's chunky and spaced out take on Somerville & Wilson's 'Yantar.' It's been the final track of all recent Fango sets around the world for a while now and that won't change any time on thanks to the slow build to a colourful dub disco peak. It takes you ever higher on wandering lead synths as the fat drums pump away below. Essential stuff.

When Glitterbox maestro Simon Marlin, aka The Shapeshifters, reunited with CHIC's Kimberly Davis to bring us Second Chance, the track gave us the ultimate Studio 54 dancefloor feeling. Becoming an instant disco anthem, it was playlisted on Radio 2, giving the whole nation a reason to groove. Now Glitterbox Recordings present a record box essential, the 12” vinyl featuring the stunning original, a remix from Italian producer Moplen and The Shapeshifters Reprise. Putting a new spin on the much loved tune, Moplen, takes on ‘Second Chance’ by adding his distinctive drum sounds to the extended remix, crafting a rhythmic disco vibe and making the most of the exquisite strings. The Shapeshifters Reprise delivers a slow and dreamy build up that evolves to funk-filled bass, complimenting Kimberly Davis' punchy chorus. This special delivery also features the Accapella, an essential tool for discerning disco DJs. Music this good deserves to be heard on wax.

Theus Mago serves up a hypnotising triplet of tracks on the ‘Apache Nights’ EP for Dave Harvey’s Futureboogie, each cut brimming with psychedelic tendencies and an assured chugging pace, and British stalwarts, Chicken Lips, are on hand with a tantalising remix.

Hailing from Mexico, Theus Mago may also be familiar to many as the man behind Bufi, and across both aliases, has released singles and albums for the likes of Electrique Music, Turbo, Roam Recordings, and his own Duro imprint.

‘Apache Nights’ is built upon an irresistible booming dudwise b-line and tight and lively rhythm section, as esoteric melodies and trippy samples & tones pan across the sound board. British duo, Chicken Lips, have admirably served many year’s service in the alt.disco genre, and alongside their ground- breaking productions on Kingsize and Azuli, are probably more renowned for the raft of remixes turned in over the years for everyone from Newcleus to Simian Mobile Disco, Ladyhawke to Tiga, Ennio Morricone to Soul Mekanik. For their ‘Chicken Lips Malfunction’ of ‘Apache Nights’, we’re slapped around the chops with a gargantuan nine-minute night ride! ‘Piu Mosso’ jumps on board the magic carpet for a transcendental journey, whilst ‘Sergio Ramos’ has Theus teaming up with Thomass Jackson (Gomma/Calypso Records) for a raw and minimal workout, brain scrambling
sonics and a contagious groove that closes this exceptional release.

Mister T. Records is the result of the merger of Technodrone Records (the label that produced Chevals' first EP in July 2016) and the Parisian collective Partage ton Groove.

Being a huge fan of Mister Saturday Night, the label's objective is to promote emerging artists that produce party-oriented tracks such as disco, afro and tropical edits. After a solid afro house EP by Leonard Lampion, they've decided to go further and to create their very first vinyl: who else but Chevals, the guy that started it all

This EP contains 3 amazing disco edits aiming to represent the emotions coming from of electronic dance music. A side: MTT001 opens with a powerful disco banger. Made for smashing clubs and crowded dancefloors, 'Everybody Dance' truly is a party anthem crafted for party's peak time.

The first track on the B side starts with a refined and regular beat which gives an old electronic - rock-like - atmosphere to the track. After a tense break, 'Sweet Dubnamite' sharply bursts into a cataclysm of funky synths. Finally, 'Brown Baby' is the slower tune of the vinyl and gives room to soulful vocals and deep keys.

On the B side you can find 'Come On And Take Me', a disco funk mover with a killer groove, nice vocals and tight synths that surely will make you scream for more.
