Jana Kirschner - a child of the bear and blueberry soaked forests of the geographical Centre of Europe, the land locked land now known as Slovakia; mushrooms, berries, and nuts were her toys, the folk songs of Slovaks, Roma, and the Magyar, her education..... Winning spandex clad dance comps at 8 years old down the local "Dom Kulture" - culture house - disturbingly garish singing competitions by 12, and early forays into songwriting via misguided western wannabe production.... the surest route to 90's era Slovakian stardom.

Jana's changed course so abruptly so frequently in her now eight album career no one dare guess her next move, yet with Muzika she's landed, and announced, HERE is music, a celebration, no rules, pompous, bombastic, Day-Glo nonsense, it could only come from central Europe, it should be awful yet it's somehow brilliant, the one single lyric "Muzika" repeats as mantra with Krautrock drums and baroque-esque vocal arrangements and blankets of analogue synths ("Kraut Barock"!).... What Why Because: Musika! That's why. No more need be said. It will leave no lover of true music behind.

On the flip side, the antithesis: Prophet 5 circular pattern from start to close on a slow 3/4, again one single word "Idu" (they're coming or they're going) repeated in up to four part harmony, glossing, and sliding in and out of standard tonality.... an ABABA form where the A is instrumented by cello & clarinet, and the B is taken in turn by Cimbalom and Marimba. Time stands still. A dream rest after the revolution of Muzika is complete.

Apersonal Music is excited to introduce a very special collaboration between Massimiliano Pagliara and Jules Etienne that goes by the name of Egyptian Nipples. The duo has extensively worked together on various projects and as very good friends it was just a matter of time before Egyptian Nipples was born.
The songs on 'Back but Half EP' were originally composed and produced by Jules Etienne. Massi then proposed Jules to re-work them and add his additional production. The result is an ode to 80s inspired song writing, analogue grittiness and heavenly melodies.
The niddle starts its ride with the piece from which the EP takes its name "Back but Half" - a NYC disco inspired space disco monster with whispery vocals and spacey synth lines. Followed by the
darker "Bottle of Mine", taking almost an italo style backing to modern waters, the wall of synthesized sound is just impressive and a perfect match to the dark vocals.
Now flip the vinyl... "L.A. Melody" takes a stroll in the proto house camp with syncopated guitar and keys laying a lovely mood of synthesized dance floor mayhem. Next is "Weekend Lover" - a
heavy piece of analogue drums and bass, with an almost eerie feeling, a perfect late night, early morning dark room feel to it. And there is hardly a finer way to end an EP than the uplifting mid tempo house chugger that goes by the name of "Monaco".
The names behind Egyptian Nipples are no strangers to the underground house scene. Massimiliano Pagliara, Italian born, Berlin based dj and producer who is obsessed with analog synths and eclectic deep fusion of disco & house. His highly praised album Focus for Infinity on Live at Robert Johnson and his various collaborations with Snax, Lemercier and the Lala by, Molly Nilsson, Daniel Wang and Discodromo made him a name to watch in 2013 and beyond.
Jules Etienne is a French producer/composer and performance musician based in Berlin. His work
covers a wide range of genres from electronic music to acoustic chamber pop. He's the Singer of the Band Jules Etienne E Le Volpi, collaborating as The Hints with Quarion on the vinyl only label Retreat, the producer and drummer of Lemercier's project "Lala by" on My favorite robot, one third of (sic!) on Meakusma, and one part of the house music duo "Gui.Tar" on Careless records and Punkt Musik.

With the November release of his artist album 'Last Night In Utopia' on the horizon, Seattle resident Pezzner presents an exclusive first taster of his Systematic Recordings long player with All Night Dancing Party, a disco-fuelled lady-loving house cut that is set to soundtrack the end of the summer and far beyond. The glittering original is backed by a trio of remixes from Robert Babicz, Justin Martin and Hanssen, with each producer soundtracking their very own All Night Dancing Party.

We always dreamt about releasing this EP in our label. Since we discover it, it has been heavy played in each Slow Town party. QX1 is in the town with an outstanding EP from 1992. First up we have some intergalactic business with this cosmic jazz funk disco stormer, hypnotic beats, classic vocoder vocal with sweet female backing, dreamy keys, sweeping synths with a bit of slap bass thrown in, definitely MadDisco's summer space tune of 2014 and pressed at 45rpm for extra loudness.

B1. Continuing with the cosmic theme we have a serious bit of vocoder disco boogie from Japan, tripped out effects galore, panning hit hats and a 70's bass line to die for.

B2. And last but definitely not least we have this gem also from Japan, chilled jazz funk groove of the highest order, some amazing musicians on this one, crisp production as well, just listening to this makes you cooler!!!

After Daniel Wang and Jules Etienne set the bar very high with their remixes for - Robot Magico' and - Disco Fantasy' by Daniel Grau (SK280), it's now time for the next three songs by the forgotten Venezuelan Cosmic Disco producer to come under the knife. With his debut - Rivers Of The Red Planet' (just out on Tartelet Records) 21-year-old Berlin based Max Graef is making massive waves right now across all borders. Still he found a slot in his busy schedule to enhance three songs out of Daniel Grau's elusive archive - together with befriended DJs/producers from the Oye Records entourage. Upgrading all of them in a state-of-the-art cutting-edge fashion.
That's how - Tren Del Espacio' (originally released on the 1978 album - El Sonido Magico De Daniel Grau') suddenly becomes a straight forward slamming house track with added Caribbean spice mid-in. A completely different approach is applied by Graef and Labuzinski on the remix for - Nunca Conocí Amor Igual' (of the album - 440 Toker' from 1982). The vocals by Laurye McGregor are stifled by a menacing dubsteppy killer beat and only slosh to daylight occasionally. An impressive and aweinspiring deconstruction maybe also Madlib or The Alchemist would come up
with if stuffed with enough medication. Make sure you serve this cold!
And then there's the collaboration of Graef with Oye Records honcho Markus Lindner aka Delfonic. Also with this remix of - Delirio En Fa Menor' (off the 1976 LP - Mas Alla De Las Estrellas') you can literally feel the affinity towards what we used to call leftfield hiphop. A badass beat framework binds the ever collapsing samples of the original. It's like Graef and Delfonic hold a picture of the original tune in their hands and then tearing it in half, just to piece it back together again back-to-front. This is adulteration by permission. Or to put it in another way: This is how you get away with
murder. Another milestone in Max Graef's still juvenile career!

It's been 10-years of blood, sweat & tears. perhaps that's what fuels their grunge tech energy. 'Reesis' is an electronic boogie-funk banger. "Beeturia" is equal parts beach boogie and jazz-fusion, propelled by the virtuosic soloing of Solar Shield producer Chris McDowell.

The debut 12" on BALEARIC BISCUITS from back in 2005. 4 remixes of CHRIS REA, DAVID BOWIE, SERGE GAINSBOURG, and PAUL MCCARTNEY. The two highlights are the excellent dub version of "MAJOR TOM" and the party rockin' "YOU WANT A LOVE". The debut release on BALEARIC BISCUITS.

Though the influence of Detroit musically still reverberates the world over, the Portuguese capital of Lisbon isn't high on the list of places that you'd twin with the Motown, punk and techno-pioneering former American industrial powerhouse. To listen to II though, the new album on New York label Golf Channel Recordings by Portuguese collective Gala Drop, is to unearth a spiritual link across the Atlantic hitherto undiscovered. Their first full-length record in six years, and their first release since 2012's Pitchfork-lauded Broda 12' - a split with Ben Chasny from former tour mates Six Organs of Admittance ­­-- sees the four-piece join forces with Detroit ex-pat Jerry The Cat, to pull together the variant strands of Motor City's aural lineage with the more off the cuff Balearic-flecked grooves of their native Lisbon in a hypnotic melting pot of sound.

To fit The Cat's long and varied career into a couple of sentences doesn't do justice to a man who's quietly been working behind the scenes with some of the most notable musicians and producers through history. From percussion work with Parliament and Funkadelic, to performing live with John Lee Hooker, his involvement in the great rise of black music through the mid-to-late 20th century cannot be understated. Then there's his work within the dance community, with releases on Sound Signature and collaborations with the likes of fellow Detroit artist Derrick May, techno game changer Theo Parrish and his 3 Chairs collaborator Moodymann, to name just a few.

It's that eclecticism that's allowed the group freedom to be similarly unhemmed. Their music takes on the bustling heat of the streets of Lisbon but, like the city itself, feeling within touching distance of the open seas and panoramic scenery beyond. A song like 'Sun Gun' is a perfect example, built around intricate bass lines and restless drumming that eventually stretches out into the distance as the track races along, each little inflection and echo of other places and cultures, only ever fleeting as Gala Drop skip through their alluringly idiosyncratic world.

November sees the launch by Kraak & Smaak of their new imprint Boogie Angst.

The label will be home to Kraak & Smaak's future productions as well as a breeding ground for new talent.

Kraak & Smaak teamed up with Sam previously on chart topper Good For The City from the Chrome Waves album they have just finished a year promoting.

2014 has been a vintage year for Kraak & Smaak. They topped club and radio charts worldwide with their Chrome Waves album and the sublime singles The Future Is Yours, How We Gonna stop the Time, Back Again and Good For the City. They toured the US and Europe with their killer full band live show and made multiple TV and national radio appearances in their native Holland.

In the US the album topped the college radio charts and was licensed for use on hot new TV show Looking in the UK it was supported by Pete Tong, Monki, B Traits , Rob Da Bank and Annie Mac on Radio 1. In Germany they were the most charted international artist on the german club charts.

This latest round of success for the dutch boys led to Spinnin, Eskimo and Axtone Records all releasing exclusive K&S cuts alongside the boys home label Jalapeno.

Now it's time for a new chapter where as well as being artists they will be running their own label - Boogie Angst.

Following on from the phenomenal success of the recent 'Remixed With Love' compilation plus more Joey Negro compiled
albums including 'GoGo Get Down', 'Backstreet Brit Funk', 'Destination Boogie' and the ever-popular Soul of Disco series Z
Records continues to release high quality compilations filled with lesser known disco, funk and boogie.

Now it's the turn of 'Italo House' to get the JN selection treatment with over 20 tracks hand picked from the late 80's and
early 90's covering a lot of the deeper classics and some lesser known releases from a golden era of Italian dance music.

The late 80s were undoubtedly a golden era for dance music. A time which saw the birth of many genres and sub genres -
from acid house to hardcore to Balearic - and of course Italo house. If you ask Jo Raver to name an Italo house track, they'd
probably come back with Blackbox, Jinny, Fiddlefatti or one of many big piano tune. At the same time there was another
equally distinctive sound coming out of Italy- a warmer, deeper, more emotional style which didn't yield any commercial
hits. The sound was more jazzy and soulful with syncopated percussion, dreamy pads and, though piano was often used, it
wasn't in the obviously programmed, big breakdown style which became a cliché of the Italo house genre. This more
underground side of Italo was closer to the original American house sound- but still retained a very European flavour.

In common with other Z compilations which have featured Britfunk and GoGo, this album was an important release for me.
Important because I love a lot of the records, many of which have been largely forgotten about, but also because there
really was a unique sound coming out of Italy, spread across many labels and involving numerous producers. As a result, it
has never really been fully showcased like this before. I'm glad this album exists for other people to discover or re-discover

Sparse and daring sonic experimentations, as the name suggests, on this fresh imprint by the upstream collective that is John Swing, EMG and Battista. The first two have now established their patterns of work via the Livejam and Relative stables, while the third has been busy pushing his sound through the younger and ever-promising Uaudio label. A common obsession with machines and spontaneity has led them to this latest collaborative effort; two extended, wide-eyed jams - one per side of the plate - which shift from moments of stability to sudden bursts of chaos. The A-side represents the former; a thick layer of chords, gritty low-ends and icy percussion slither out of the whirlpool only to become locked into a moody, cut-throat groove. The flip cuts the formalities and dives head first into a deluge of saturated hardware fuzz, showcasing the trio's more abstract personalities as conjurers of fine noise-funk.

Following Todd Terje's incredible 2012 remix of Roxy Music's 'Love Is The Drug', Bryan Ferry has recruited some of the best producers in the world to remix his 1985 hit 'Don't Stop The Dance'.

Now released by The Vinyl Factory as a series of three super-deluxe limited editions of only 1000 copies each - with bespoke screen printed thick card sleeves housing 180-gram records mastered for vinyl by Noel Summerville at 3345 Mastering and crafted on the EMI 1400 in Hayes, Middlesex.

The track was originally the third single from the number one album Boys & Girls, and featured long-serving guest musicians Nile Rodgers, Marcus Miller, Omar Hakim, Andy Newmark and David Sanborn.

"The recording was done in various studios in London, New York and Nassau, and the whole process took about two years," recalls Bryan Ferry. "I wrote 'Don't Stop The Dance' together with my co-producer and engineer Rhett Davies, and I remember the track originating in some sessions we did at my home studio in England. We finally mixed the record with Bob Clearmountain at The Power Station studios in New York."

Isaac Ferry hand-picked the producers to Re/Make - Re/Model 'Don't Stop The Dance' in various guises, re-enlisting previous collaborators Todd Terje, Eric Duncan and Greg Wilson, alongside Idjut Boys, Sleazy Mcqueen, Space Coast, Punks Jump Up, and two versions from both Psychemagick and Grasshopper aka in-house keyboard programmer Liam Duggan.

"After the successful release of 'Olympia Remixes', we decided that my song 'Don't Stop The Dance' should really be revisited by a new generation of DJs," says Bryan Ferry.

"Since my first solo album in 1973 I've always tried to reinterpret other people's songs in my own way. So it has been good to hear 'Don't Stop Dance' in so many different incarnations. It's fascinating to see how some of the remixes focus on certain aspects of the song, and some on another...they all take the track to a variety of interesting places."

Jack Vanzet is a Melbourne-based multi-instrumentalist, producer and visual artist who records under the alias Thrupence. His debut EP Voyages was released independently on the Thrupence Bandcamp in March 2012 where it received over 1000 downloads within 24 hours. He has played Outsidein Festival the same year alongside Flume, Shigeto, Smoke DZA to name a few, supported Chet Faker at Revolt in Melbourne, sold out his Voyages EP launch at Workers Club in Melbourne and played alongside Oliver Tank, Mitzi, Lost Animal at Melbourne Music Week.

From the tropics comes Whiskey Disco, a sneaky re-edit label bent on dredging the decanter for diffident dancefloor genius from

latent disco perpetrators. It's loosely connected to Sleazy McQueen and his assorted cohorts.

Rabo & Snob eschew the worn rhythms of disco injecting a heretofore unheard blend of middle-eastern rhythm mixed with western
influence. Equal parts studio musician and disco academia, this Tel Aviv duo know their history and can see the future. Here We Come

is an appropriate maxim on their maiden vinyl release. These two weave a groove combining original and sampled elements to create a three track EP, each cut as strong as the next.

The first track alone 'Invasion' is a dance floor soundsmash to rival any recent disco chug. The story continues with the quicker pace and acerbic tones of 'Rulers of the Red Planet'.
'Martian Emotion' drifts more towards 'beautiful space ballad' and finally the grand finale to the story of this EP is the dark and foreboding John Carpenteresque 'Last Day On Mars'.
The track completes a journey in sound so well accomplished it will have you feeling like you just watched a 3 hour sci-fi epic inside your mind!

Tusk says, "The title track from TW15 was conceived after a particular heavy Tusk Wax label party at Renate in Berlin. I went back to my old pal PORK INTL's place for a bit of drunk studio time and told him all about the living legend that is Gizzy the Fox. A couple of bottles of wine later and I was telling the story to a microphone and we were writing an oddity of a track. If you have had the pleasure to meet Gizzy and spend time in Renate you might understand the lyrics, if not, they'll probably just sound like the rantings of a drunk man, funny that."
