Part 2 of the superb Diggin Disco Deep #2 comes back as a Heavyweight 180 G Grey Vinyl...

Summer 2016 and its time for the seventh annual trip to the beach with your favorite Nangster crew. This time sailing the ship is San Francisco resident and all round top producer chap Aimes. He has spun a web of summer disco beach tunes to get the sundown grooves deep, long and funky.

First up "Spyboy" from the Korvids. They get the groove going with funky brass, jazzy Rhodes and Isley brothers style summer breeze fuzz guitar. Mysterious Englanders 1Blip2 are next up with our man Aimes debuting his shimmering nu disco rework of their brooding "Onka" track. It can be summer in Siberia too you know!... and just to prove it Kim And Buran serve up the sun-drenched synth funk of Running On The Waves. Things get lurrrvely with Sare Havlicek and the Barry White throated OD Hunte and their rolling beach synth-funk before JMRS and Ride Front Man Andy Bell mix the 90s indy rock with a Balearic groove.

Aimes delivers a second premiere with his stomping "Olas Altas" before we head off for a spot of dreamy 80s inspired melodic synth with "Stargazing" from Moon Mood. Dagfest "I Got The Feeling" samples a little known 70s funk gem from James Walsh. Italian remix meister DJ Rocca turns up the dance floor groove with his slick re-rub. We then head off to South American with Future Feelings and their superb floor led "Find Out" (Irregular Disco Workers on a first class remix). Madrid based Rayko is next with his electronic disco dance funk Why

Next, we mix things up with UK based Situation featuring Andre Espeut "Stay With Me" getting a smooth floaty dance rework from Russian based 5 Reasons. It is then off to the Canary islands for Nang favorite Ilya Santana to debut one killer new track from his future LP. "Hammerhead" is big grooves, big guitars and big funk with Italian wonder worker Tobor on the remix. Bestinspace "Freedom Ltd" gets the Pete Herbert treatment next with it space funk groove.

It is off to Italy for Disco legend Beppe Loda next with his Egotrya project and his sweeping 80s analog synth pads in his "Volcano" epic. Folano "Begin" is next with Sportloto smooth pads and melodic chords working over a solid disco groove. Sheffield residents Hiem return with their zany "Lions Cheetahs Enforcers" with Siberian groovers Kim and Buran on the remix case once more. We close up with a slice of lazy guitar-drive yacht groove from San Francisco based Sorcerer and his shimmering "Video Magic".

The best of summer nu disco groove distilled down to one mix. Nang out friends.

Brame & Hamo, Fouk and new recruit M.ono, and a great Frits Wentink release to kick off 2016, we're happy to bring you this bright and vibrant package courtesy of....ourselves. 2015 has been such an amazing and busy year for us, with loads of work on a new version of our live show with a new Detroit Swindle member on the keys well as countless other shows and records on Heist and Freerange).Right now, we're happy to say that we've made good use of our studio time and have fired up our gear to record the 'In Reverse' EP. This EP for us represents a period where we've been enjoying loads of new music, and have gotten inspiration from many different sources, to see in what way we can expand the Detroit Swindle sound. The 4 tracks on this EP each showcase a different part of us ranging from house to acid to disco to warehouse, and will have something for the classic DS fan, as well as some new vibes. Is It Balearic releases a debut EP from Clandestino's Joe Morris. 4 tracks of lush electronic grooves. The title track Golden Tides is a mid tempo houser with beautiful pads and soft arpeggios. Late afternoon sundowner vibrations. The second track Bayou has touches of Sueno Latino about it., an afterdark evocative tropical house trip. On the flip the first track Light Of The Moon is a more reflective slo mo affair. Warm pads and 808 sounds melting into cicadas. Finally we come to Mpondo Theme. Sounds of nature , Kalimba and loose percussion all sit together and watch the sun dip over the savannah horizon. A proper EP this covering all shades.

Wolf Muller and Cass. have a new album coming on International Feel as part of our ongoing mini album series. Their album follows two highly regarded releases from Len Leise and CFCF and they haven't let us/you/or anyone down.

Jan Schulte is Wolf Muller. He makes music to dance to and then he likes to pick things up and bang them. He makes funky German sounds from jews harps and odd items that you wouldn't expect. He is like an underground German version of Herbert (but with more groove in his bones). Cass. makes soundscapes that melt your bones and take you elsewhere. Together they are a pretty formidable duo.

Awaking from the dreamstate of Gryningen's hazy library inspired 10", we find Aficionado's expert selectors well rested and in the mood for a dance.
Utilising their extensive network of global connections, Moonboots and Boardman enlist Hungarian producer San Laurentino to raise spirits and pulses with a deep and diverse collection of body movers.

Perfectly conjuring the nostalgic melancholy its title suggests, opening track 'First Love' takes us by the hand for one last dance under the stars.
Cinematic pads sweep around a snapping drum pattern as a signorina from Rimini embraces a Basildon boy, seeing out the summer season to the hair raising chords and spine tingling sequences of a San Laurentino's masterpiece.

While that holiday romance might have come to an end, 'Back To The Stars' leads you off in search of new experiences. Emotive pads, undulating bass sounds and celestial keys vie for attention while the solid kick, intricate percussion and lively hats play out a swaying rhythm. Then all of a sudden the track changes tack completely, tripping out to a modular melody and sinuous techno bassline before reaching a soul soothing conclusion.

On the B-side 'Long Way Home' lulls us into a false sense of security via a gentle drumbox bossa, before thick bass stabs and a tough new beat rhythm take control of our bodies. Once again San Laurentino packs the track with atmospheric chords but this time adds delicate guitars and subtle piano, balancing the steely rhythm section with deep emotional resonance.

Closing the EP with unrivalled sophistication, 'Amici' sees San Laurentino drop the tempo and concoct an irresistible low slung groove before expanding our minds with wavering pads, hypnotic chimes and misty synth vox.

Delusion Men were here before time started to flow and it seems they will stretch out their existence way beyond doomsday; which probably explains their archaic impulses reverberating in a foggy, lost future. What they deliver are pieces of straightforward punk plunged into disco depths, kraut derailment and swirling drum machine melancholia. If you are looking for retro-future dystopias with no space for healthy minded horizons, this is the thing for you. Delusion Men walked together since the inception of Future Nuggets, although for them the time will never come, we snatched their debut EP. It feels as if through them " the Old Ones" are channeling the last messages of hopelessness for dance floors and dining rooms."

In this their twelfth release they recruit previous label-mate Harry Wolfman and compadre Skinny Love to provide three stunning dancefloor ready originals. The duo have certainly delivered on the brief and turned in three diverse and clever takes on what a modern Disco track with a House soul can represent.

On remix duties they have recruited a promising young producer 'Kickflip Mike', who has released on Box Aus Holz as Joschka Seibt and paired him with experienced disco merchant 'The Revenge' who is responsible for some of the best remixes we know of, and he doesn't disappoint here with either remix

Thank you for purchasing this trio of vinyl records.
The music contained within is a delightfully diverse collection that I hope you will find pleasing to your ears. Much like a bowl of goulash, not all the ingredients may be to your liking. It is undeniably more rustic roadside tavern than refined dining but as you have already purchased this release (downloads do not come with liner notes!), I guess you already trust me behind the pots and pans.
I have been spoilt for choice by the many fine ingredients available to me and have become somewhat blinded in compiling the final tracklist. However, the end result has now been tested on my nearest and dearest to approval. And with that I present to you, my own special "Paradise Goulash".

Following the release of the "Eleccio" mix CD in 2014, Especial has continued on it's path to develop and push a club sound that is slightly more leftfield than the on-going boompty House rehash, the mutation of nu-disco in to something a bit more proggy, trancey and the never ending thud-drug-chug of the 110 bpm ableton-for-beginners brigade, by offering a mixture of musically psychedelic, twisted, dubbed-out, proto-obsessed club EPs. Possibly falling between pillar and post, an audience does exist though and to celebrate that fact, a new mix CD - this time helmed by rising shipmates Khidja - is incoming. As before, "Junta" is a best of best from the previous 9 releases (EES011 - 019), plus a few special extras from our Romanian duo. To accompany the CD release, a Sampler EP again focuses on some unreleased gems, unheard versions and a special remix. We start with a remix from Khidja and their own take on the very special Masimbabele. Upon
hearing a Remix EP was in the works, the duo begged for a go and rightly so, as here is possibly the best remix, with a dubby groover. This is followed by an unreleased cut by another, but not forgotten, combo. While C&A are M.I.A, here then is an extended rework of a stand out pop-ode taken from their underrated Migration album. On the flip is new member, Alphonse, taking his proto-rave-poem deep in to the echo chamber to create a unique dub that is very much for the smokers. Finally, Khidja offer the "original" version of Looki. An ambient version appeared on the Love On The Rocks label in early 2015, but here, finally, with kick, bass and some wiggle, is their balearic masterpiece. Gracias Discos Especials !!

Just in time for the peak of summer Soul Clap presents: Vinyl Only Summer Jamz, a vinyl only release that features 2 of the biggest bombs from our DJ sets the last few months. In the tradition of classic DJ promos, the record features black and white art and a promo one sheet that you can send to us with your DJ feedback. The split 12" features one side of dancefloor funk from Michael The Lion, a new project from Philly's Apt One that features Amy Douglas on vocals, and one side of throwback deep house from Boston Gator Boots veterans Juice Belushi featuring nephrok! on the vox. Each track is unique, perfect for summer and they've been so powerful when we play them that we had to fit them into our busy release schedule so you can drop them in your summer sets.

WOLF+LAMB present the highly anticipated followup to "ENDANGERED SPECIES". The title track is a song led by strong vocal hooks and floor friendly instrumentation. Also included is a remix of "TOO DRAMATIC" by WOOLFY and two bonus cuts

It's been a long time coming, the debut Slow Hands EP Everything (We Are) on Wolf + Lamb Records. Yes, you read that right, this is the first EP to be released by the long time W+L artist, Slow Hands.

Known to his friends & family as Ryan Cavanagh, the native Vermonter has maintained a career as both a live musician, and DJ through a consistent release of singles and remixes for W+L, as well as Permanent Vacation, K7, and Bedrock to name a few. With Everything (We Are), Cavanagh sets out to deliver a preview of the diversity that will be expressed in the great number of songs set to be released in the coming year, and longly anticipated LP.

The organic foundation is laid early with the funk fueled Miss White. A song steered by it's live rhythm section, vocals, guitar, as well as it's elaborate arrangement. Second Fiddle, a staple in Slow Hands' recent live sets, is the very epitome of his traditional verse/chorus composition style over loose and energetic beats. The EP slows tempo with it's title ballad Everything (We Are), a display of Cavanagh's recently discovered raw vocals, and a powerfully emotional chorus, reinforced by the vocals of Dave Robertson.

Robertson, more widely known as Cameo Culture, who also acts as co-producer, and musician on this release, concludes the EP with a compelling rendition of the title song. Driving things home with a more rock inspired re-harmonization of Everything (We Are), Robertson augments what will be the theme of all forthcoming Slow Hands' releases; organics, musicianship, and diversity.

Marking the start of an exciting new collaborative project, Wolf + Lamb proudly share the debut release of The Waves & Us. Formed out of a creative meeting of minds between Maayan Nidam, Markus Nikolaus and Louis McGuire, theirs is a sound that strengthens the storied approach of a live band with the experimental thrust of analogue electronics. Pop and rock fundamentals lend an earthly hook to the tracks, but these are anything but straight-forward songs. Maayan has already forged a formidable career in electronic music, both under her own name and as part of Mara Trax, scoring releases on such celebrated labels as Perlon. Markus performs his own solo project Cunt Cunt Chanel, while Louis is part of Ballet School, a band
releasing on noted indie label Bella Union. The whirlwind of creativity that has whipped up around the trio has yielded an album which will follow this single, made up of one-take recordings that capture the energy and adventure that powers The Waves & Us. Maayan's electronics provide the atmospheric backdrop to the songs, running modular synthesisers and drum machines through detailed chains of processing and effects with an emphasis on a warm, charmingly rough finish. Markus' guitar undergoes a similar fuzzy treatment while his voice calls out introspective, abstract lyrics to set the mind racing. Louis' bass underpins the music with a dubby sensibility, bringing a necessary balance to the frequency range. Making the most of their in-the-room recording approach, the singles will feature alternative takes of the songs that will appear on the album, providing a little insight into the flutters and fluctuations that shape the development of this project. With their eyes fixed on live performances and an arresting sound already formed, this is a vital time for all three artists and the people that listen to them.

A summer on the rocks is truly a summer of love. From the light blue sea of Indonesia comes Jakarta-based Jonathan Kusuma to redefine the label standards on Love On The Rocks. Highly celebrated for his releases on I'm A Cliché earlier this year, Kusuma continues his streak with yet another double A side. Buzzing oceancool pads bump into a catchy piano roll on 'Stein's Way", which is the perfect openair main stage filler on a Sunday afternoon. On the flip comes the game changing 'Underpass' to celebrate the gathering of a horde of down-tripped mushroom infected goblins in Java. The moon looks bigger from the other side.

This is not an 'usual' L.A.S.'s Crime album, as if something had gone wrong in cloning, and what came out is magically different and at the same time deeply consistent with the productions of the 80s ... With the participation of bands, artists and DJs from all over the world, the result is a beautiful mutant vinyl that will leave you breathless...7 songs remade as extended versions, a 'size' of song so diffused in '80s, half way pop and dance.

After a spot of chronological chaos last time out, Nado regain their numerical composure with a sumptuous four tracker from New York renaissance man Quinn Lamont Luke (Bing Ji Ling)
Loose and limber after a chakra aligning cover of Loose Ends for Phantom Island last summer, the Paqua frontman brings his linen suit and boat shoes to the good ship Nado, joining Moonboots and Boardman for a relaxed session of horizontal dancing. Taking a pleasant vacation from his trademark blue eyed soul, QLL packs up the mic and lets the music do the talking, treating us to a dreamy quartet of instrumental grooves.
'Primavera' opens the EP with a dubby drum-box bump, getting heads nodding and shoulders rolling before white funk riffs and starry eyed strumming lead us on a stroll down the coast.
After sharing a knowing glance with Paqua's 'Visitor', dreamy piano and a fuzzy guitar solo come to the fore, burning bright till long after sunset. Out of the dying embers and cicada rhythms comes the warm and comforting funk of 'Verano', a low slung disco masterpiece alive with melodic intricacy and sonic warmth - hold a loved one close and pass the joint.
The drum machine returns for B-side opener 'Ontono', keeping the pace slow and low while moody synth bass and sticky guitar dance around an emotive lead line. Drinking from the same crystal as Blue Gas and Wally Badarou, this dramatic dancer should prompt smouldering stares and bitten lips all over the club.
Quinn moves gracefully from the sultry to the sumptuous, bringing the curtain down with sublime, piano-led beauty of 'Invierno'. Meditative and melodic, this heart swelling serenade snatches the end-of-night crown from 'La Ritournelle' and wears it with pride.

UM:BROS project is back from 1984, they played mainly live during mid-eighties in one of the first italian electronic club called Suburbia' (Perugia). They signed for the legendary House Of Music' Italian label but this Album never saw the light (due also for the short life of the label). UM:BROS put togheter elecronic, new wave and italo-disco in a modern and updated style!

Seven amazing dancefloor killers are included in "The Chi EP". 4 tracks are placed on the vinyl, including the drums driven "Better Than Yours" with Leah Hannah on vocals and amusing spoken word section, "War Time" is next, a percussive banger, on the flip you will find another banger "Don't Look Any Further" with Dennis Edwards samples and Kito Jempere's (Freerange, Dirt Crew, Fata Morgana) dub of "Pisces". Claremont 56 sublabel with another collection of stunning disco tracks. Track one is a peak into the album by JAZ that will be released later this year and is a driving disco number for peak times. On the flip manchester's Cosmic Janes edits are not the obvious choice of tracks..but therefore much more interesthing then many of the edits comibg out these days. Diving into the 80's obscure pop releases we have some excellent tracks that will get the party started!! well done.

When I was 10 years old my father took me to a flea market in a very small city up north in Sweden, Pitea.
There was a little bit of everything being sold there: Ski equipment, comics, porcelain figurines and vinyl.

It was there and then I came across 'Autobahn' by Kraftwerk. The thing is, we didn't have a turntable at the house we stayed in, on those cold winter weeks so I had to wait until we came back home to give the record a proper spin.
In my mind I played it several times and I thought it was amazing. I imagined it was music from the future. What I thought when I heard it for real

Didn't like it at all.

The very same feeling I imagined 'Autobahn' would sound like is the one I get after listening to Ishi Vu's debut on Omena. These five tracks, you could call it an album if you like, are playful, quirky, dreamy and very addictive.
Like finding a new friend you know you want to keep for a very long time.

Kid Flicks is the music project started by greek producer and songwriter Nickos Devisis. Highly inuenced by the bright side of contemporary athenian life, multiculturalism and the internet culture, Kid Flicks created a unique sound which draws from various genres and styles. From electronic to sample-based music to psych pop to world music, the album full of upbeat pop melodies, explosive percussion and greek, middle eastern and african music references. Kid Flicks' third album Kid Flicks' and first with an updated 3-piece line up, will be released by Klik Records in Greece and wordandsound in the rest of Europe on late June. On December 2015 they showcased at Glimps Festival in Belgium and their creative process and involvement in the athenian music scene were one of the subjects of CBC Arts documentary series Interrupt This Program". They currently work with Brooklyn-based PR agency Drunken Piano (Carpark, Yep Roc) and booker JJ Pallis (Boogarins).

The debut E.P of Philipp Stoya, who might be recognized from his appearances on some Various Artists - 12s on Compost Black Label, is a testimonial of love, his love to his wife, whose name is the EP's title, his love to music in general, giving birth to this record and his love to electric pianos and synths, such as the Fender Rhodes and the Roland Juno 106, which sounds give the tracks on the record an unique flair and atmosphere.

This album takes us straight to the madness filled summer dance floors. At the same time it is also true album, it is not just a collection of tracks, it has its own flow and rhythm as it moves us from song to song from the beginning to the end. Rayko sets us on the journey with Sumy's Funkin in Your Mind, real sleaze funk workout, driving beat and loopable groove is polished but, psycho nevertheless. Womack & Womack Conscious of My Conscience is very sexy track, Rayko maintains natural feel and emotion of the original yet giving it much stronger dance floor appeal with driving rhythm and dreamy vocal rearrangement. Flip over to the B-side and get ready for a very surprising choice - 1983 Italo Disco number by K.I.D. Come and Get It. It totally works, much more serious transformation was needed here and Rayko delivers perfectly. Rayko stays fairly close to the original with his rework of Joe Coleman's Get it off the Ground, it is a bit slowed down, 80s with big synths, a hypnotic groove & new killer bassline. Rayko continues with second Womack & Womack song Love Wars, this songs is completely rearranged, it is actually more of a remix than an edit. It comes with new layers, new pulsating stomping bassline, vocals are darker and way edgier. It is a gem. D Train Keep Giving Me Love is a disco house excursion, Rayko extends, blends, cuts & chops the EQ to produce essential rework of this 1983 classic for the modern dancefloor. As we get closer to the end of the album Rayko again surprises us with Bill House's You are no Better Than a Common Thief, the original is quite bluesy and touching, Rayko preserves all of the important elements of the song - sensational vocals, original guitar and rhythm section, very pretty and subtle re-edit. The album closes with 1979 Final Edition's I Can Do it (Anyway You Want), it is true indeed Rayko can serve it anyway you want, with this album Rayko clearly establishes himself as super disco producer of our time.

Wired guitars wail like banshees on heat, primal beats erupt drenched in dark juice from roots of trees slick with crunk.
Flutes and bells hang like exotic flowers that reek of jungle sex and all night long the pulse goes on and on and on' As usual Cherry was right...this most surely is one sick motherfucker of a record. Don't get me wrong there's warped beauty here aplenty but you gotta take it easy.
Don't ingest it all at once...make sure you're in comfortable surroundings, trust me I know...six months later and I'm still feeling the burn. Damn you Cherry Garcia.

Magic Waves delivers the third and final installment in its series of EPs focusing on established artists working in disguise and encouraging the listener to put the music first' ahead of names, trends or gimmicks. 'Music First Vol 3' opens in serious style with Fashionable Male's epic EBM/New Beat stormer 'Hardbody', slow, deep and hard, building pressure to a crushing crescendo and guaranteed to drench any industrial basement dancefloor in litres of sweat. As if that wasn't enough of an audiophysical workout we're also treated on Side A to Deflektor1000's 'Krunch', a punchy analogue technoid jam for the DJs that raves the bpm's up to the next level in classic Detroit-Chicago style featuring whooshing strings, grinding bass and generally heavily elevating vibes. Flipping over to Side B things quickly get deeply hypnotic and very acidic indeed courtesy of Pagan Ritual's squelching and jacking box-jam 'Think Like Me', another bomb no doubt destined to sit in many a DJ-bag for a long time. And closing things off we have an analogue Italo-Electro instrumental hard-rocker from Albert Ross in the shape of 'Fly Away', one that has been doing the rounds in the underground for some time and even popping up in the occasional I-F mix or two, finally available on wax but just as mysterious as ever. Copies are limited so don't be slow...you snooze, you lose!
