Ben Gomori's Monologues Records imprint presents its first vinyl outing: a collection of new tracks and tried-and-tested edits from the vaults.

Melon dons his Je Dàvu guise to bring us 'Don't You Need', a stomping disco work-out that's been heavily rinsed by San Proper and the select few who've been lucky enough to receive a copy over the years. Fellow Amsterdammer Uffe finally unleashes the jazzy, shapeshifting 'Keepon' nearly 50,000 SoundCloud plays later. All DJs and producers around have at least one secret weapon to play. This series curated by Marvin & Guy is the Equation that joins together very special edits from very special artists.

It will be out in three volumes in different colours: first black, second grey and third white.

The Equation series are being released exclusively on vinyl, a limited edition of 300 copies; no digital formats will be released.

With Equation 2 the A-team is back and they have changed players for this second half.

This time they bring along the Mexican outlaw hippie, a Danish who learnt how to build beats better than Lego, as well as the only Irish keener on music than in beer. And the last player is a man who abandoned the euro dance hits of the 90's to play basketball in Peru.

The first place the world heard the lead track from this new Love Notes from Brooklyn release, "Where Pathways Meet", was on Deep House legend Mike Huckaby's My Life with the Wave show volume 2. Pascal Viscardi was one of many great artists to take Huckaby's warm tones and turn them into a work of art. "Pathways..." wriggles with deep funk and soul, and is paired with 3 other likeminded tracks for this very well-rounded EP. "Oshakusan" is the dancefloor track, juxtaposing warm chords and an insistent sax sample over the a tough bassline and rhythm combination that's aimed staight at the floor. "Free at Dawn" is the fathoms deep effort, going miles below the surface in a emotional expression of soul, and "And I Showed the Clouds (How to Cover Up a Clear Blue Sky)" provides a perfect outtro, and end to the statement made, making this EP feel truly complete.

Following on from the successful release of 'Basic Colour Theory: Remixed' in March, Catz n' Dogz announce their latest EP 'Upsi Bubsi'. The duo's first release of 2016 welcomes the New Year in true Catz n Dogz fashion with two tracks EP is a fruitful twist of cosmic melodies mixed under the duo's trademark heavy tech-house styled bass and percussion. The EPs' opening and title track 'Upsi Bubsi' is a certified floor filler from the get go. The track opens with a thunderous mix of 909 loops alongside a repeated throb of intense arpeggiated bass. The track is peppered with splurges of crashing cymbals, rolling toms and the hypnotic looped vocal whispering 'don't stop'; a track clearly engineered for the dance floor. As the track builds, we are greeted with Egyptian styled keys, an unusual choice of sounds for most indeed, but a skill that we have become accustomed to in many of the duo's productions. 'Elixir' offers a different experience to its counterpart with a collage of rising melodic chords and an 808 break beat. The track is a beautiful arrangement of graceful choir sounding melodies over warm sub-bass chords, seemingly inspired by early 90's Detroit. The track takes full form introducing tribal drum patterns alongside splashes of keys and styled cosmic percussion. The track is a testament to the producer's creative prowess, showcasing their broad abilities to tackle all styles and genres of dance music. This release undoubtedly highlights Catz N' Dogz' arsenal of talent in creating two very unique but equally as strong productions. Both possess the quality and pedigree of the duo's back catalogue and are set to command the globe's top dance floors.

What, exactly, is a selector Dekmantel has long been determined to find out, even before the Amsterdam-based crew added an official Selectors stage to its annual summer festival in 2014. While the stage has since played host to an elite class of DJs that includes the likes of Floating Points, Mike Servito, Traxx, DJ Harvey, Ben UFO, and Donato Dozzy, to name just a few, Dekmantel came to realize that the Selectors concept needed a larger platform of its own.

As such, 2016 will see the launch of both a limited-capacity festival and compilation series, both bearing the Selectors name. The compilations will come first, with Motor City Drum Ensemble, Young Marco, and Joy Orbison at the helm of the initial three chapters. These are not mix CDs; every Selectors compilation will include a collection of hand-picked, unmixed tracks personally curated by the artist.

Admittedly, drawing a line between "selectors" and mere DJs is an all-but-impossible task—it's essentially a "you know it when you see it" proposition—but it's hard to argue that Motor City Drum Ensemble (a.k.a. Danilo Plessow) doesn't tick all of the required boxes. He's been digging for records since his teenage years, and his DJing has become the stuff of legend, thanks in no small part to his head-turning sets at the last few Dekmantel festivals.

In truth, Plessow's relationship with Dekmantel dates back to the earliest days of the Motor City Drum Ensemble project, making him a natural candidate to head up the inaugural Selectors compilation. As expected, he's thrown himself into the task; selecting a want list from his collection of 15,000 records was no easy task, but getting permission for the final tracklist was even tougher.

One song in particular, Raphael Green's "Don't Mess with the Devil," required him to personally call up a church in St. Louis, Missouri. "The guy, he's a Bishop," he says. "When the Ferguson protests were happening, for example, he was on CNN explaining his thoughts on the whole thing, so he's a known public figure, but nobody really knew that he had this amazing record that was recorded in '79 or '80. His voice is just unbelievable. It's the kind of record that when I heard it the first time, I couldn't believe that there had only been like 100 copies pressed, and that this wasn't actually big."

Motor City Drum Ensemble's record bag is full of these kinds of gems, but he has no qualms about sharing a few of his secret weapons with a wider audience. "I wanted to get some of the stuff that is really, really hard to get, and make it available for younger people," he explains. "I used to be in the same situation. Back when I was 18, I would listen to a Rainer Truby mix and he would only play these $400 Brazilian records. I was like, 'Fuck, how am I ever going to be able to afford these' I was glad when there was a reissue, and it's a bit the same with the compilation now."
"Basically," he explains, "the approach for the compilation was, 'If I walked into a record store, what kind of compilation would I buy' That's what I did."

When tripping around, sight becomes blurred, sound turns to noise, but scent remains genuine. Attractive or repulsive they stimulate the everyday. The equilibrium is essential. 'Scented Trip' mimics this balance between monotony and interest for you to feel. Hooks and harmonies drive one side, while repetition pushes the flip.

Daft Punk's 'ALIVE 2007' set, which won 2 Grammy Awards in 2009 (Best Electronic Album and Best Electronic Single categories) and was previously only available on CD and digital, will be released for the first time as a double vinyl with a triple gatefold sleeve.

Derived from their live performance at Bercy on 14 June 2007, this album was originally published the same year on November 19th. Through this amazing live experience, Daft Punk manipulated and reworked their established material, transposing and deconstructing the structures of their studio tracks.

A limited edition of 'ALIVE 2007' will be released at the same time, in a special box including the album on 2 solid white vinyls, plus a vinyl bonus (Side A: the show's encore (human after all / together / one more time (reprise) / music sounds better with you) /Side B : 'ALIVE 2007' pyramid logo etched), a 52 pages book (pictures taken during the shows), a slipmat and a download card.

'ALIVE 1997' is also being reissued separately. Recorded in 1997 in Birmingham during their first European tour, a few months after the release of 'Homework', this first live testimony was released in 2001. 45 minutes of non-stop live mixing, featuring the band's first standard tracks (Da Funk, Rollin' & Scratchin'...) along with those techno-electronic explosions unique to Daft Punk!

Paradise garage anthem 'Let's Do It' by Convertion with remixes by Krystal Klear to be released on original Sam Records label.

Let's Do It by Convertion was originally released in 1981 on Sam Records, and featured production by Greg Carmichael and vocals by Leroy Burgess. Upon release this song immediately went into heavy rotation for Larry Levan at The Paradise Garage and for Frankie Crocker, then the number one rated disco jockey on New York City's number 1 ranked radio station WBLS. Over the years it has become a staple of classic disco playlists worldwide.
Now remixed as a peak hour tune for today's dancefloor, this 12' release includes two mixes produced by Dec Lennon p/k/a/ Krystal Klear. A Dublin native and Red Bull Music Academy alumni, Klear has made a steady rise to become one of the freshest new faces in music that both has the chops to destroy underground dance floors with his deep crate of records or spin out polished productions in the studio with legends like Nile Rodgers.Klear's musical accolades can be conveyed through his singles 'Tried For Your Love' that was championed by BBC R1 DJ Benji B for 13 weeks in a row, and 'Addiction' which has helped solidify main stage at top tier events such as SONAR, Fabric, Space Ibiza, and the famed Panorama Bar.

Mutado Pintado
Last October from Mixhell, Joe Goddard (Hot Chip) and Mutado Pintado (Paranoid London), Brazil, London and the USA came a great mix of unexpected sounds. Dropping via Delayed Records, the Crocodile Boots EP offered a cacophony of musical elements and spoken word that's myriad intricacies made it one of the most sonically intriguing releases of 2016.
The title track 'Crocodile Boots', a funny, funky poem about daily life, politics and miscommunications, has received a special remix and accompanying visual from close friends and confidants, Soulwax.
Speaking on the video, Iggor Cavalera says 'this video is an amazing compilation of mad ideas from Mutado's brain mixed with the low-fi images of Laima and himself on a duet between the confused red neck and a Portuguese/Brazilian spoken girl.'
The Brazilian production duo Mixhell first met Joe Goddard in Brazil around 2006. DJ'ing many times together and supporting Hot Chip, the Crocodile Boots project was born out of a few 30-minute jam sessions they did in 2015 alongside close friend and Paranoid London affiliated Mutado Pintado.
The original EP's 3 tracks express a high dynamic range through sinuous melodies and polyrhythmic sonic textures whilst Mutado Pintado's instantly recognisable tone lyrically reveals elements of the artist's lives. Further remixes of the EP's title track 'Crocodile Boots' and 'Hard Work Pays Off' drop soon from Joe Goddard and London-based Party Nails.
Since writing 'Crocodile Boots' the four artists haven't again been in the same place at the same time - testament to the pure and organic nature of this release. It's seen massive club support from an array of tastemakers including Erol Alkan, Damian Lazarus, Jamie Jones, MJ Cole and Thomas von Party (Turbo Recordings) and what started out as a fun breather from their other projects has become something much more significant and potentially disruptive to the current electronic music landscape.
2017 will see Mixhell unite once again with Soulwax, kicking off a worldwide tour with them from March that will include live band performances on drums (Iggor) and synths and backing vocals (Laima) as well as DJ after parties as Mixhell.

Another late night disco chugger by the Italian warehouse bizarro 'Bottin'. Synthetic dark groove, hypnotizing cinematic dreamwave. Reborn sequential sounds that bring life to this strange solar system. 'Quesdarse Irse' has a sitar played by the great Beatrice Scarpa'BB' of Italy accompanied by whomping liquid analog treats to this future classic.

Caravan's Coarsica EP is a gorgeous six-tracker of wandering drum machines and shiny synths, washed with the burnt umbers and viridescent hues of the Australian outback. Computer-funk with a green thumb. As the track-listing suggests, Coarsica is a tribute to subtle and compelling beauty of Australia's native flora, as if Costa Georgiadis and Dâm-Funk got away from the big smoke for a weekend and spent the whole time by the river cooking this bad boy up. Once referred to as "one of the best producers you haven't heard of yet" and championed by Gilles Peterson on his radio show many times, Toronto stalwart Jesse Futerman is a producer on the rise. After a Summer of trips around the globe to play at Croatian festivals, Balinese beach clubs and a variety of underground establishments, Pedro & Dicky deliver the latest episode on their own Paradise Row label. The EP fuses their love of Disco, House, Italo and Balearic sounds and is a proper party-starting, medium sized player with tracks that are ripe for most dance floor moments and occasions. The up-for-it, head-nodding arps and discoid thrills of 'Dance To Love' get things going in style.
While the chunky House and Barbarellas inspired vibes of 'I Think I Can Feel Something' will really get you moving. This one has been going down a storm in the clubs this Summer.
And finally, things come to a grande finale with 'Perfecto', which cooks up Italian influences with Ma Foombey style longings to make for a sound as Balearic as large hierbas on ice.

Selvagem, who graced the first release on the imprint alongside Eric Duncan, returns once again this time with Kiko Costato and drops a chunky, funky, samba laced bomb of a track.
Meanwhile over on the flip, Disco Deviants Pete Herbert & Dicky Trisco work a catchy Brasilian number to the bone with glorious Discotastic results. Pure vibes on both sides and cut onto limited edition 10 inch vinyl.

After the immensely well received start with BLIP001, soon enough DJ's and fans alike were banging down the abstract door of Blip Discs to see what else this new label could have in the pipeline. BLIP002 comes from label head honcho Tom Blip in the form of Wrong Guanco/Shekere.
These tracks are afro, unpredictable, DJ orientated cuts - road tested by DJ's such as Bradley Zero & Werkha, they've already been causing serious movements on dance floors up and down the country. Due for release soon, BLIP002 offers another new, exiting artist to it's roster accompanied by another limited 12' debut.

A - Wrong Guanco
Wrong Guanco is a killer 100mph jam ladened with afro-house hooks, bass-lines, and beats, crafted to raise a peak in the dance. Founded on the chops of a conga player soloing live in the 1970's, the track creatively and tastefully re-presents the samples. Leeds based percussionist Sam Bell was invited to improvise and extend above the original sample, affording the track a culmination of conga virtuosity over a weighty kick drum - a simple but effect dynamite on the dance floor.

B - Shekere
Shekere is a murky, nocturnal, afro-techno journey, already well-trod by cheering and whooping dance-floor dwellers taken by the tracks slew of clattering drums and delicious sonic trickery. A fine and inimitable addition to any techno mix, with a ponderous sub, and climaxing in the unleashing of a bodacious African drum/vocal, untamed and uncaged - replay buttons at the ready.

After the acclaimed 'the hacker & hiv+ / no¨vo¨ disko¨ 12'' this is the second release produced thanks to the 'black alliance' between ora´culo records and unknown pleasures records established to release some of the french label digital catalogue in deluxe vinyl edition. this amazing new 12' represents the solo debut in vinyl of alek drive with an extract of his 'frontière' digital album published in 2015. recorded using exclusively analog equipment, the mesmerizing blend of electro, ebm and minimal techno will become a sure inmediate classic among the dancefloor hunters and avantgarde conneisseurs. all tracks remastered specially for vinyl by eric van wonterghem at prodam studio (berlin).

Having been recently shortlisted for the Scottish Album of the Year award, we follow up 'Theory of Flo' with some stellar remixes from friends and associates.

First up HIGHLIFE label mates, Mehmet Aslan and CAIN deliver the goods on Cape Malay Prayer and Hewal3 - as to be expected. What wasn't planned was this sublime rework by The Revenge. We felt so precious about Waiting For A (Woman) - convinced that the original was too good to be tampered with - until an unexpected turn of events brought our fellow Glaswegian (and SAY nominee) to the controls, resulting in a sophisticated rework for the dancefloor - who better really when you think about it! The reveries begin with a simple electrical hum - a starting signal for the appearance of a vibrant array of sound, shifting before us in seemingly random motion. Before we know it, all those pulsating melodies, razor-cut hifi-house beats and drunken robot jazz ensembles start forming into patterns, secretly & perfectly designed by one Art Alfie. A long time operator in Stockholm's small but insistent underground music scene, Oscar Wedrén broke through internationally in 2012 with the Karlovak project, founded with on-off studio and dj partner Rudolf Nordström, a.k.a. Mr. Tophat. The duo's inexplicably fresh takes on classic dance music tropes is as much a result of a brilliantly odd pairing of personalities as of a defined concept and a precise method in searching for the perfect house groove. While writing Reveries Of, released early spring 2017 through Studio Barnhus, Art Alfie freed himself of all conceptual footholds, delving instead deep into his archives of old and new memories and feels, working with improptu field recordings and emotionally-guided sampling processes. He came back with an intricate and personal debut album and he didn't lose his groove on the way.

Although it is not really their debut, GT003 unveils a new stage for the Sao Paulo collective and its eponymous label on their global endeavours, be it for the chosen source of material they offer or for the regal remixer recruited to enhance its flavours: Discosmic royalty Prins Thomas. Delving into the grooves we find ourselves amidst rhythms that rely heavily on the hypnotic power of an infectious bassline, powered by some greasy fingering responsible for the type of gravy that makes Brazilian cuisine world renowned. The flip is served by your Balearic Highness, designing one of his mind-bending journeys by turning the original flavours into a dense compound of molten polyrhythms and worldly spices. An earful of delights for anyone fairly interested in sensorial expansion with high concentration of musical content, what can easily be found when such diversity is sought after, as has been Gop Tun's mission throughout.

Public Releases hits the lab for some aural alchemy and to turn out its first release of 2017. A four-tracker from Moscow's Phil Gerus, Scenes—or, in the producer's native Russian, —manages to have a makeup that's both peculiar and magnetic.

The title's a fitting one; every track feels like a vignette in a collection of short stories. Separately, they're self-contained, but a rich narrative arch is added when they're sewn together. If there is a theme here, it's of viewing the future through the dusty lens of the past, and each of the songs explores this in its own fashion.

The kick-off, 'Ohashi Sky Garden,' starts as a hyped-up Italo space epic, pumped full of swirling synth licks and sharp, tight drums, but it mutates into something completely its own when vocal samples (90s R&B) and warm keys (prog rock Rhodes) enter. After the original's brisk five minutes, the legendary Richard Sen—graffiti guy, breaks guy, house guy, disco guy, half-of-Padded-Cell guy—steps in to give it a trance-y tinge while doubling its runtime and adding a dancefloor-destroying Hi-NRG coloration.

The B begins with 'Naha Swim,' a crunchy funk foot-stomper that might as well be an unreleased Idjut Boys or Ray Mang ditty dug up from the Noid catacombs. Fiery and furious, yet utterly cheeky. Serving as a sort of coda to 'Naha' is 'Kiss of a Kind,' a Gerus take on 80s adult contemporary, replete with sleazy sax and sensual pads. A gentle nightcap to a zigzagging, antic 12-inch.

In the follow up to his Doornroosje EP released back in October last year - Aus continue on form in 2017 and present another solo EP from label mainstay Marquis Hawkes. Having been brought into the fold on 2015, the Berlin based artist has consistently utilised Aus to outlet his more soulful and stripped productions. His previous work has comprised fun, sample-heavy tracks designed with nothing but the dance floor in mind and his latest 12 'Sweet Temptation' expands on this bringing melody, rhythm and chords to the foreground. Jubilant, powerful vocal lines and stony drums are the core ingredients and their melding results in a collection of 4 tracks of varying moods and intensities. While 'Burning Light' and 'Sweet Temptation' pack a certain big-room punch, 'Eivissa' and 'Zapper Bluesky' carry depth and soul in a manner that recalls a classic and cherished Hawkes sound. Now 5 releases deep with Aus Music - Marquis Hawkes continue to demonstrate why he is a regular and esteemed member of the roster.

Music For Dreams are on a roll in 2016, and this new signing from Chile is no exception. Behind the name Estancia La Mar is a trio of some of the most sought after names on the Chilean music scene. Mario Martinez is maybe the most well-known on the international club circuit with his quirky and fresh take on house under the alias Motivado, also head of electronic label Discos Pegaos and an acclaimed DJ. Pablo Munoz produces music for adverts and TV in addition to sound engineering and producing for some of Chile's alternative pop acts via his Janeiros Studios. The third name is perhaps the most unlikely of the three, Juan Pablo Abalo, who mainly writes and arranges classical music for orchestras and ensembles, but is also one half of acclaimed electronic pop duo Los Días Contados.
This album "Sesiones de Panamá" was born from a live session in Janeiros Studio, and that freeform live attitude is clearly evident in the resulting music. Throughout the six long tracks of the album, the trio build up progressive atmospheric pieces of genre-defying instrumental music that sits comfortably on rhythmic patterns reminiscent of house. As if Pink Floyd had made a Balearic house record in the mid 90s, they forge a crisp soundscape with space for experimentation.
At the centre of their musical expression is the clear influence of their hometown Santiago and its surrounding nature, evident in titles like "El Pacífico Mexicano", "Botavara" and "Isla Margarita". Opening track "Botavara" rolls in on a gentle breeze of tropical percussion and floats along on a carpet of new age synthesizers. The epic "La Casa Del Torrero" starts with a shuffling beat and dreamy xylophone melody, before tripping out into a full 11-minute long cosmic synth and percussion jam. The South American feel comes stronger on "El Pacifico Mexicano" with chattery polyrhythms carving out a groove along massive waves of ambience - the transcendental music of Manuel Göttsching comes to mind. With "Isla Margarita" we get the featherlight feel of a Wally Badarou production that recent deep house producers have been trying their best to emulate. For the Estancia trio this comes as no struggle, and across a stunning 10 minutes they make that sound their own. On "Terminos & Condiciones" we find the the trio at their quirkiest. Using a long sample of a telephone conversation between an airline customer service agent and a very angry and confused customer, we are led into an uncomfortable contemplation of life's stressful situations. Closing track "Polaris" ups the tempo considerably and delivers the album's most dancefloor-friendly track. Relying on a heavy kick with a smattering of hi-hats, the echoing piano chords send us into a blissful revision of 90s' deep house that is constantly building in momentum. Jacques Greene is the enigmatic, young artist who broke out of independent electronic labels Uno, 3024, Night Slugs and LuckyMe as a genre-defining producer and DJ (via 2011's 'Another Girl' - one of Pitchfork's Songs Of The Decade, 2013's underground favourite 'On Your Side' featuring How To Dress Well and 2016's undeniable summer anthem 'You Can't Deny').
Jacques Greene crafted a musical blueprint that inspired a generation who were raised on and looked to bring together the intersection of contemporary music growing up in the 90s: hip hop, RnB, house and techno.
At its heart, 'Feel Infinite' is a world of music connected to the utopian idea of club culture - music about the club, rather than specifically club music in and of itself. Written over the course of two years, this debut album is the purest, most personal expression of the Jacques Greene sound and emotion created by the born and raised Montreal artist, renowned for collaborating and remixing Tinashe, Radiohead, Sampha and Shlohmo.
In 2016, Jacques Greene released the surprise single 'You Can't Deny' to acclaim and adulation, a beautifully undeniable, soulful techno record, followed up with 'Afterglow', a euphoric club record - both of which are included on the album alongside a further nine stunning tracks.
