Nadanna is extremely proud and excited to present TOBIAS BERNSTRUP's new album 'Technophobic'.

Bernstrup who works both as a visual artist and musician has been touring worldwide since the late 1990s and positioned himself as one of the leading re-inventors of Italo Disco with his unique mix of Italo, Synthpop and Gothic noir. He has created his own unmistakable stage persona wearing androgynous outfits in shiny latex and heavy make-up. Tobias has collaborated with seminal artists such as Trans-X, Apoptygma Berzerk, Martial Canterel, Xeno & Oaklander, Lebanon Hanover, and She Past Away.

'Technophobic' contains 10 smashing tracks including the recent single 'Utopia', and 'Metropolis of Tomorrow' featuring French dark synth wave artist HANTE. Combining influences from classic synthpop, minimal wave, dark wave in a retro futuristic manner TOBIAS BERNSTRUP has created an album reminiscent of the 80s but in a contemporary context of sound landscape.

Hot off a couple of 12' from Topher Horn, Rocksteady Disco follows up with its first compilation featuring a heap of heavily sampled originals from more well-known editors. Pontchartrain leads the release off with a summer-inspired aural prozac number, just in time for this June release. Next up is notorious Detroit editor Lafleur, busting out this original milky-smooth Detroit boogie house production. A slight little rearrangement from Rocksteady Disco label boss Peter Croce makes this one a bit smoother for the DJs. Lyon, France's G2S kicks off the flip with a big-bottomed stomper reminiscent of some MCDE 'Raw Cuts'. Pontchartrain book-ends this release with a track that puts the 'rocksteady' in Rocksteady Disco, with heavy analog-meets-electro drum programming and complete with Pontchartrain on vocoder duties.

Just in time for the season, Seaside Maestro Jean Claude Gavri returns with this long awaited 3rd instalment of the Seaside Edits summer series. Both tracks on side A are top notch 117 afro disco floor fillers by Disco Tech & Lillo Carillo. On the flip, the man himself label owner JCG is giving us a sneak peek inside his vinyl vault with Off Broadway, a Balearic afro synth heaven, for these very lucky few that earned their ticket to the deeper zones of your collection.

Frame Of Mind is a new venture initiated by Gerd: a label that focuses on re-issuing rare and sought-after tracks as well as on releasing new music. First up we serve you this official re-release of Nature Boy's classic Ruff Disco Volume One. This highly in demand double pack goes for mad money on the second hand market, so after 25 years, a beautifully remastered edition is finally here. Nature Boy's sound is best described as a rough combination of disco infected grooves with raw and hard hitting rhythms. Tracks such as The Livin'Groove, Ha Ha, Trackin' and of course Tobago caused bliss and mayhem on dance floors world wide and brought joy to thousands and thousands of dancers, dj's and music collectors all over the globe. This LP displays a fine mixture between house, disco and sometimes even dub/reggae. To this day Ruff Disco Volume One is a timeless work of art.

"Emotional Rescue presents French 80s electronic band Takenoko and their unique and quirky euro synth-pop, here as collected works from 1982 to 1988. The compilation includes their 3 singles plus a number of unreleased songs heard for the first time. Formed in 1981 when Bruno Aujard, Jean Louis Simonet and Jean Michel Louisor met in Bordeaux, France, the trio took their admiration of post punk bands like Talking Heads and Gang Of Four and mixed it with the pioneering sound of Kraftwerk and the new wave of UK electronic bands and set about composing songs with the simple aim to make people dance. Encompassing their interest in Japanese culture, Takenoko, meaning young bamboo shoot - a metaphor for teenager in Japan - was born.
Initial demos were soon signed and Elle a Tokyo was released on 7" in 1982. A vision of the Far East garnered from magazine stories of Geishas, robots and the arrival of the modern, movement of designers, such as Yohji Yamamoto.Their second single, Lee Harvey Oswald, didn't appear until 1985. This time darker, the song reflects on the assassination of Kennedy from the perspective of infamy. Questioning human relations became a theme, the contrast and under-lying violence between them.
Their final single, Trans Amor Express, was released in 1988 and expressed their synthesized euro pop to the max, transporting the listener across a world of sensuality and was backed by anthemic John Wayne, also included here, as with all, in remastered form.
Recording throughout this period, 4 unreleased songs are fully realised for the first time. From the driving Pas de Petit Garcon dans mon Avion to the leftfield leanings of Les Guerriers, the Yello-esque Love Is My Weapon and finally, the off kilter closer, Rendez-vous a Malibu, the band finally can be heard as intended, a perfect encapsulation of a new, optimistic, European sound, transposed by the technologies coming to hand."

Dimitri is a legend! From his Playboy Mansion compilations to his own tracks, his always inspiring DJ sets and most of all: his never disappointing edits (Prince: I wanna be your lover!). Let's put it like this: Probably there is not one DJ with taste on this planet that hasn't got his personal Dimitri From Paris favorite track in his bag. Dimitri has been doing consistently good music over the last 20 years. Since he first appeared with his very Parisian album Sacrebleu in 1996. He quickly became a worldwide respected European first league eclectic disco DJs - along with DJ Harvey and Ashley Beedle. He officially remixed hundreds of artists. From Björk and New Order to Michael Jackson. He also produced Los Amigos Invisibles "Super Pop Venezuela" album which grabbed a nomination for a Grammy Award. Some years ago he teamed up with Italian producer, DJ and man of many talents DJ Rocca. Rocca might be known to many for his work as Ajello and Crimea X. He also produced music for cosmic DJ hero Baldelli. Dimitri and Rocca have a magic touch. Together they have been doing 3 EPs for Gomma. This is the fourth EP. New school booty electronic disco. First up is 'Love Jones'; a bouncy bassline and delicious pitched up vocal illustrate the producers shrewd ear for uncomplicated grooves and is clearly primed for the dancefloor. 'Percussie Sanway' builds gloriously into an out and out stream roller of a track with its glitzy tinges and irresistible bass drive. When The Mainstream Turned Its Back On Disco In The Early '80s, It Allowed Dance Music To Once Again Choose Its Own Path. As An Artist, Arthur Russell Routinely Chose The Paths Less Travelled. The Original Male Vocal Mix True To Rusells Vision, Is An Organic Piece That Recreated The Atmosphere Of David Mancuso's Loft. The Story Goes That The Recording Sessions Ocurred During A Full Moon And Included Individuals That Would Often Party At The Loft. An Excersize In Creating A Vibe, The Male Version Of The Song Reflects The Complexity Of Russell's Arrangements And A Maximalist Wall Of Sound That Would Become A Signature Component In His Dance Productions.
Although The Record Recieved Some Crital Acclaim, It Wasn't Initially A Commercial Success. That Came In A Little Later When Famed Dj Remixed The Song
Without Permission From The Label. According To Some, Larry Levan Snuck In To The West End's Offices To borrow' The Multi-tracks To Make An Edit For Himself To Play At The Paradise Garage (also Owned By West End's Mel Cheren). After Getting Positive Feedback At The Club, Larry Decided To Properly Remix It With The Aid Of Francois K (who Opted Not To Be Credited Because Of His Contract With Prelude). Larry Levan's Remix Now Known As The female Vocal Mix' Although More Structured, Is Still Pretty Out There. Melvina Woods, A Dancer From The Loft, Slurs And Misses Notes As If Her Own Loose Joints Were Dusted, But The Animalistic Groove Is So Undeniably In-the-pocket That This Actually Got Local Radio Play Back In The Day And Remains In Constant Cult Club Rotation Today. Of The Two Versions, Larry's Mix Is The One That Went On To Influence Early Chicago House Djs Who Over The Years Have Sampled And Those Exact Same Drums Countless Times. Now That Is Some Real Freaky Stuff.

'Jump Trax' is another essential piece of early Chicago house music crafted by the legendary Duane Thamm JR back in 1984. Fusing together a myriad of influences including early 80's Euro pop, Italo Disco and HI NRG, Thamm JR was responsible for helping create and influence the burgeoning House sound that would emanate from the city all throughout the second half of the 1980's. Not only were these sounds new and fresh, they were experimental too, 'Jump Trax' sees the BPM's gradually shift throughout the duration of the tracks seamlessly giving the more adventurous DJ's out there more ammunition and room to experiment with styles and BPM's. A truly visionary approach to production and all recorded and mixed within Chicago's city limits by Thamm JR at his Reel To Reel Studio located in Villa Park, Illinois. 'Jump Trax' continues to be as influential today as it was back in '84, with many top DJ's still citing the record as a 'go to', powerful indeed.

Celebrating two decades of SKYLAX RECORDS, label-head Hardrock Striker teams up with long time friend and music partner DJ Sprinkles, under their new project name SKYLAX HOUSE EXPLOSION (S.H.E.). Forming a template for their future musical projects, they present a large compilation that features a mix CD accompanied by three vinyl releases comprised of unreleased music personally curated by S.H.E.

As with each of the vinyl EPs, they make reference to a particular space as it pertains to the formulation of house music. Under The Ballroom is of particular resonance to DJ Sprinkles who, in the early 90s, started out in transsexual sex worker clubs like Sally's II - where she won an underground grammy for Best DJ 1991 - that were centres for the drag queen ballroom culture that originated in New York City. As with the two EPs before it, Under The Ballroom features tracks personally curated by DJ Sprinkles and Hardrock Striker. Populating the A side is one half of Tuff City Kids, Lauer, who's catalogued leanings towards more 80s dance music sounds are nearly as old as the SKYLAX label itself. On Bigs, Lauer picks out sounds associated with the earlier end of house music with bass tones from older machines, however manifesting themselves comfortably within the context of Paradise Garage, The Loft and The Ballrooms of NYC, which cumulatively, span the decades between the 70s and 90s. He is joined by 100% Silk Alumni and recent SKYLAX RECORDS signee - and DJ Sprinkles fangirl - Octo Octa, who presents Running, a piece full of what are slowly becoming the signature house sounds of the Brooklyn-based producer; pitched vocals and machine noises that ally with some of her tastes for deep textures, drawing from house as well as her love for drum and bass.

Taking up the entire B-side with Soleil Mauve is Violence FM & The Underground Soulsavers, who are making their production debut as part of the 20 Years of SKYLAX Compilation. Lengthy and saturated in a sparse sewing of jarring vocals, Soleil Mauve is an obvious pick for DJ Sprinkles; utilising it at the end of her mix on Disc 1 of the compilation's CD. Under The Ballroom makes up the final piece of the SKYLAX RECORDS 20 Years Compilation, but sets a precedent for future projects presented by SKYLAX HOUSE EXPLOSION.

One part of three releases, Under The Loft accompanies Under The Garage and Under The Ballroom as part of the 20 Years of SKYLAX RECORDS compilation.

"This music was made over a year and a half period, while i was losing my father to cancer. I don't usually work with concepts, and certainly didnt have one in mind making this, but with something this heavy as the backdrop it had to be an influence, especially since my musical gift came from him. This I am only truly realising now.

The drums and vocals were added later. Dan Walsh from Fixity and others in Cork played the drums. The vocals are by an Italian singer based in Galway, Barbara Vulso.

This is the third album under my own name, having worked with aliases for albums since 2012. It was always going to be so, and again I now realise that given the personal nature of the project it could only be that way, though i didn't know or question why at the time"

Alma Negra are back on Heist! After their much applauded 2017 release with that great Soulphiction remix, they've been rather busy taking over the scene. They started their new label 'Alma Negra records' where they released 3 ep's in quick succession, with new as well as older material that showcases their tropical roots and keen ear for clubby reworks. They launched their live show, doing gigs across Europe with a highlight at one of London's more intimate live venues: the Jazz Café. Their latest outing -making their release count a total of 4 in only 8 months - was on Marcel Vogel's Lumberjacks in Hell and explored the more live / rework side of their project. Now they're back on Heist with 3 new tracks, supported by an Awanto 3 remix. 'Conversation' is a track we wanted to put out on Heist badly, simply because it's a beast of a track. It sits somewhere between a live African drum track, percussive techno and moody Midwest electronics, with pads and strings coming in and out of play while a relentless kick drum keeps the energy on a haunting level. This track is Alma Negra at their filthiest, and it feels like they've taken a next step from last year's dark and heavy Luanda dub, bringing it from an intimate dreamy stage straight into the main room. 'This is the place' shows a different side of the house spectrum with the Alma's love for dreamy deep house. The track flows up and down, with soothing Rhodes chords, arpeggio's and mumbling vocals setting a summery mood that's perfect for your warm up or daytime party. On the flip, 'Again & Again' is a summery, synth laden, garage house groover with the closing track, a remix of 'Deep In Your Soul', rounding off the e.p. in style switching the low slung dynamic to a bassy, club ready bomb.
