Like a phoenix, Montreal’s disco godfather, Robert Ouimet is back with the same vim and vigor as when was tapped by Gino Soccio for album consulting or when he remixed Francine McGee’s delirium in 1977. But, here he presents 4 songs from his deep archive, edited to ‘hands-up’ glory for today’s audience.

Nicola Cruz re-visits his second album 'Siku', released earlier this year to widespread acclaim, with ‘Siku Reworks’. The release provides the listener with another perspective on the ‘Siku’ domain, one envisioned in different corners of the world; Argentina, the UK, and Japan to name a few. In an effort to unlink the original material, Cruz has selected producers to re-work a designated song on 'Siku'; according to their own style. Additionally, Cruz has chosen to re-record two tracks whose live versions have stuck with him throughout a year of constant touring.

‘Siku Reworks’ invokes a psychedelic view of the original material, Hermetics (R&S) provides deep atmospherics with his take on 'Obsidiana'; and Nicola offers an acid-merengue-infused live version of 'Señor de las Piedras'; alongside an infectious and club-ready re-work of live favourite 'Siete'. In some ways it's hard to define Nicola'ssound, shaped by years of global touring, and every track here is unique and succeeds in breaking from the usual electronic music format in captivating fashion.

At long last we're delighted to release some nuggets we've been sitting on by our Lithuanian friend for some time now. 'Kalista' first appeared on our Dekmantel podcast and has been prompting enquiries about it ever since. The others were pretty much good to go, but something felt missing.. One day we received 'My Personal' out of the blue and now we're off to the races! Very happy to share these with the wider world.

C.Y.M. is the collaboration between British producer and DJ Mike Greene (otherwise known as Fort Romeau) and LA-based American musician Chris Baio, who releases music as Baio in addition to playing bass in the acclaimed band Vampire Weekend. Their debut, self-titled EP arrives on Phantasy as an elegant pean to the infinite possibilities of kosmische music, driven by a motorik strain of psychedelia. The foundations of a wider project, C.Y.M. speaks not for analogue nostalgia, but a subtle and modern update on imagined futures that are still open to interpretation.
‘Capra’ immediately establishes the duo’s masterful if unsurprising grip on rhythm, a man-machine stomp that persists as the track takes myriad turns, from post-punk guitar licks and processed vocals, through bubbling modular synthesis and culminating in a soaring, cathartic melody. On ‘Far Gone’ C.Y.M. turn their studio inward for a more brooding and intimate interpretation of their sound, a balearic amalgam of intriguing vocals, feedback soaked riffs and no-wave inspired movement. The bliss beneath the waves of noise that crash across C.Y.M’s music emerges fully on the driving conclusion, ‘Super-Cannes’. A hypnotic tempo and blistering drums intertwine with whirling organs, and shimmering keys, providing a wistful and warm finale.

What do you do when times are tough and things pretty shit ?
You sing the blues. Hifi Sean & Crystal Waters follow up their classic #1 U.S Billboard track ‘Testify’ with a statement to the moment we are living in.

After the 4 young producers completed their second Hamburg residency, they enjoyed increasing popularity in Liverpool with the growing re-edit movement. However, they were also growing tired of the monotony of numerous appearances at the same clubs night after night.
In November 2018, during one of the group's frequent performances at Sugar Night Club, they encountered Driller, a local record-label owner and club owner. He later recalled: "I immediately liked what I heard.
They were fresh, and they were honest, and they had what I thought was a sort of presenceA ... star quality.

A firm favourite here at Futureboogie HQ, Ponty Mython returns to the label after last years ‘Pink Tango’ EP. Always ticking our Balearic boxes, with past releases on Quintessentials, Fina Music and Better Listen, Ponty drops three paradise purlers on the ‘Speak For Yourself’ EP, coming at you with added extra Jonny Rock remix! Dubwize vibes are present on ‘Speak For Yourself’, as a roving bassline navigates its way around steady, marching drums and Arabic tones, initiating a most heady atmosphere. ‘Barocco’ is equally as dubbed out; a cinematic soundscape is set to a dusted breakbeat, nods to Lalo Schifrin are evident, as Pont carves out a blissful midnight drive soundtrack. A wigged out, tribal space dance awaits on ‘Jealous Lover’, whilst Jonny Rock (ESP Institute/The Nothing Special) climbs on board with his Future is Now remix that’s suitably freaky in all the right places, as aircraft sounds pass over and tweaky acid bubbles over a chuggy groove.

In 2015 Superpitcher was invited to go on a safari in South Africa. He stayed at the breathtaking Tanda Tula camp in Timbavati adjacent to the Kruger National Park.

Apart from being stunned by the untouched nature of the area, he was also blown away one evening by a performance of the Tanda Tula staff choir. He was so touched by their folk songs and beautiful Shangaan language that he decided to record and produce a CD for them to sell in the camp's shop, free of charge with all proceeds going to the choir members. This recording has since enabled guests from around the world to take the captivating voices of the Tanda Tula Choir home with them.

Not much later, Superpitcher approached Autonomous Africa with the idea of us putting out a remix EP. It contains four very different but somehow complementary remixes from Superpitcher, LAPS, Red Axes and Esa.

All profits from this release will be split between Tanda Tula choir and the International Library of African Music. Founded by ethnomusicologist Hugh Tracey in 1954, ILAM is an an organisation dedicated to the preservation and study of African music.

Four vinyl-only tracks are waiting to be released: Black Chunes 'Supernatural E.P.' is a time travel that begins in the 1970s and ends in the early 1990s, the golden era of house music.

Side A begins with "Supernatural (You've Got The Funk Mix)," a kicking disco track with a Rhodes that catches you instantly. Timeless! "Back In Time" takes charge of the second track and brings you a classic disco sound palette and the energy of the 70s, including driving percussions and characteristic themes. Classic!

Two expertly executed Oldschool House tracks are on the B Side: "Supernatural (Naughty Mix)" is a minimal stomper with a magical chord sample and a groove that pushes you forward. "Funky Friday (Deeper Mix)" closes the EP with a touch of Jazz. Delicate house grooves round off this Black Chunes EP, filling you with the feeling of an overwhelming desire for more.

Club Internacional dig deep to launch their new global reissue series in style with two long lost cuts from Rio-based label Top Tape. First up is Jose da Silva aka Zeca Do Trombone.
A massively respected instrumentalist, he has worked his trade over the years with many of Brazil's leading artists such as Tim Maia, Milton Nascimento, Elizeth Cardoso, Beth Carvalo, Martino Da Vila, Gonzaguinha and Carlos Dafe amongst others.
He also produced a very much sought after LP in 1976 alongside Roberto Sax which was finally re-released this year on Mad About Records. Tema Do Brisa dates from a few years later in 1978 and is Zeca's only solo 45 single. Never released on digital and never reissued on vinyl before, it is with great pleasure that Club Internacional re-launch this psychedelic jazz and heavily funk influenced gem with its still stunningly fresh sounding drum patterns to a new generation of listeners. Fans of jazz, funk, rare groove and Brazilian music in general will appreciate the strong vibes of this original track and be delighted to finally have this record in their hands. The track represents a unique moment in the career of a great musician fully in control of his instrument and more than willing to test its musical boundaries. Zeca continues to play out as an artist regularly in Brasil right up to the present time.
On the flip side, Sambacanas, or Os Sambacanas as they were sometimes also known, were a group of Samba musicians recorded by the Sao Paulo based producer Julio Nagib.
Although they were mostly known for a samba covers LP entitled 'Sucessos Da Juventude Em Tempo De Samba' (re-released in the UK under the title 'Fly Me To Brazil'), this song, Panga, Danga, Panga, was the A side of their only 45 single release for Top Tape which came out in 1976. Again this track has never been re-released before in its 45 single version, and has not been made available digitally. A beautiful example of raw and simple Batucada-style Brazilian samba music infused with Latin funk vibes, it features excellent vocals and percussion including the berimbau and cuica. Club Internacional hopes you enjoy this journey back to rediscover these very different, but wonderful, long lost sounds of Brazil on this limited edition vinyl 45 pressing to add to your record collection. Each Club Internacional edition may take some time, but it will be worth the wait!

‘Noi No’ LP for Sähkö Splitting at the seams with deviant funk and irrepressible attitude, Madteo’s first LP in 7 years forms a fractal, mixtape-like mosaic of asymmetric techno informed by skewed traces of rap, House, R&B and dancehall. Its 12 tracks are delivered in an enviably nonchalant, freehand style that’s become the Italian-American artist’s ear-snagging signature since 2012’s ‘Noi No’ and ‘Mad Dip Revue’ albums, and also a dozen 12”s and mixtapes over the interim; all of which exerted heavy inspiration for everyone from Andy Stott and Joy O to Demdike Stare over the past decade, making this new LP a perfectly unusual fit for the anything-goes DDS aesthetic shared by label alumni including Mica Levi, Equiknoxx, Iueke and Shinichi Atobe.

We're glad to introduce you to our very first release from Moony Me. This Vienna based artist has already shown his talent with a recent release on Uncanny Valley alongside Max Graef, S3A and Cuthead.

Safer At Night returns late January 2017 with the vinyl only release of 'The Deep End', featuring two original Curses cuts and remixes from Ian Blevins and Holy Ghost! Safer At Night founder Curses launched the label back in 2014 and it has since gone to play host to material from Eli Esobar, Walker & Royce, Jagerverb and of course the label founder himself. Here we see Curses re-release his composition 'The Deep End' marking the ten-year anniversary of its former releases on Institutes in 2007, while enlisting Ian Blevins and Holy Ghost! on remix duties and stirring in a new original of his own as well.The original mix of 'The Deep End' takes the lead and offers a chance to revisit the decade old Curses cut fuelled by wandering bass and lead guitar licks, dropped-tempo crunchy rhythms and murky piano chords all instilled with a gritty New York Electro feel.
Holy Ghost! then rework the original with the funk-laden feel via bright chord sequences, elongated delay swells and an amalgamation of 80's synth leads, hooky bass lines and sporadic vocal lines.On the flip Ian Blevins offers up his interpretation of 'In Shadows' employing stuttering vocal hits, choppy arpeggios and droning bass leads to create an emotive and hypnotic number before Curses' original mix of 'In Shadows' closes on a cinematic vibe with an 80's sci-fi soundtrack feel to perfectly conclude this vinyl only 10 year celebration.

Following on from part one with DJ Sotofett and I:Cube, DJ Athome (from the Belgian 'Front de Cadeaux') turns the jazz classic, 'Caravan' into a slow 90's breakbeat oddball whilst Jaumet himself revisits his own 'Ma révélation mystique' in a more Reggae fashion.

Modern forward thinking house music by Panthera Krause on his new EP for Uncanny Valley. The successor to his highly acclaimed Umami EP is not only rich in giving the dancers material to freak out on the floor. Beyond that, All My Circuits Part I is a perfect showcase for the Leipzig based producer's wealth of variety. Heppy is a piano driven anthem that will surely capture many hearts thanks to an irresistible dynamic. There's some Acid in the veins of Stomping Ground, a track that you should show your rocker friends when they doubt that there is energy in House music. Unraveled Dreaming is as demanding with strong sample use as it is beautiful with a build-up for eternity in the second half. Finally, Le Phoque is quite a playful affair with its whirring sounds and driving percussion work. Tip!

Ok, this one is different from the usual standard of re-edits releases on GAMM.

Swedish duo Pomona Dream from Gothenburg is no re-edit outfit but an official artist. The main track 'Blame It On the Groove' is a vocal rare groove jam which is based on Aged In Harmony's highly sought after 'You're A Melody'.

Together with catchy soul/pop vocals from Pomona Dream and tasteful additional production this simply just works...yup it's that good.

To make the case even stronger Pomona Dream got an extra treat on the B-side. 'San Francisco' got an uptempo electronic / hip hop feel that is very modern yet very timeless with its simplistic vocals and synth(ish) melodies.

It's basically a solid song with an edgy production. All in all, this a real nice 7" inch with lots of character. Check check!

Chambre Noire Records is a new label out of Montreal, managed by Peter Bunzinelli. It is the continuation of a mix series and a radio show on N10.AS, active since 2017. For its very first release, it features Puma & The Dolphin’s debut record, the Primitive EP, including a remix by Michal Turtle. P&TD is a Bulgarian producer based in Sofia. The Primitive EP focuses on firedance grooves, exotic percussion along with a dub and post-punk approach.
A1 - Jungle Futura The EP open With this wild chugger. Layering jungle sounds with loose hand percussion, the mood is at the crossroads between Latin and oriental influences. As the track progresses, the rhythmic section is enriched by skippy snares and a variety of vocal samples, sweeps, and melodies, with undeniable firedance-inducing results. A2 - Camel in Dub
Darker and more synthetic in some regards, this track is closely aligned to the post-punk paradigm with its bass guitar and Linn Drum groove, and dub techniques skillfully used by the producer to create a rather psychedelic mise en scène. After laying down the foundations of this plodding rhythm, satellite voices, rhythmic and melodic elements follow one another, taking the dancer on a real trip. A3 - The Dress With vocal samples and a bass guitar at the forefront interspersed with minimalist but highly efficient rhythmic elements, melodies and other bleeps & bloops engaged in ear-catching interplay, there is something loose, sensual and slightly hazy about this track. B1 - Cobra Dance Taking a similar yet slightly different approach to the post-punk sound of previous tracks, this tune features a catchy bassline and groovy percussion of a rather Latin persuasion, alternating between vocal samples, melodic elements, and rhythmic phrases. In a sense, this track is reminiscent of the spirit of Martin Hannett’s work with ESG, that is to say, groovy dance music that feels like the opposite of synthetic.
B2 - The Dress (Michal Turtle Remix) Highly-esteemed British producer Michal Turtle’s remix of The Dress is a stunner. Stripping the track down to its primordial elements and treating sounds in dramatic and psychedelic fashion creates a very mystical and trippy feeling all over the remix which feels eminently balearic but with a unique twist. Light footed and dreamy on one hand, groovy as hell and impossible not to dance to on the other, this is probably what dancing on clouds feels like.

Brand new EP by Compact Disk Dummies. Including 'Cry For Me' and latest single 'Satellites'. 'Solar Lottery' and 'Easy Life' are two brand new tracks. The superb ASA Moto Remix of 'Satellites' completes this EP. The EP will be presented to the public during their two sold out live gigs at AB Club in October.

Transitioning through the decades, ‘Hotter Than Fire’ traces all the way from the 1978 soulful-disco cut ‘Gotta Keep Trying’ by Tenderness, Goldie Alexander’s 1981 ‘Show You My Love’ and the 1983 ‘Body Work’ (Vocal Mix) by Hot Streak on CD1 through to warm 90’s sounds on CD2 such as Masters At Work’s Club Dub of CHIC’s ‘ChicMystique’ and Shay Jones ‘When Love Calls’ (E-Smoove's Late Night). Transitioning gradually into 2019, the compilation features upfronthouse and disco exclusively available on the compilation like Seamus Haji ‘Boogie 2nite’ (Dr Packer Extended Remix), Loods ‘Love’ and the Kormak remix of Low Steppa ‘You’re My Life’. Demonstrating what Glitterbox does best, ‘Hotter Than Fire’ re-creates the atmosphere of the party, with an abundance of disco, house and soulful sounds that embody the hands-in-the-air, euphoric, confetti-filled moments that the events areloved for.

It's a strange new post-everything musical landscape we occupy.
The machines - you could argue - have been playing the humans for some time, and the conversation became pretty one-sided.
But you know, not everyone is singing from that hymn sheet. That Man Monkz enjoyed the apprenticeship at House PLC more than the opportunity to progress to middle management. Itchy musical feet meant extended exploration of fertile avenues of interest like the Madison Washington & Pan Amsterdam Hip Hop projects, meanwhile the pull of the 4/4 was never far from the studio door, and all accomplished with an assured versatility that shines.
Musical alliances formed in the disparate but related playgrounds of Detroit, Sheffield, Berkeley and Atlanta, all underpinned by an emphasis on seeking out collaborations and gigs, which represented a real exchange of energies, rather than a bank raid.
Letting things percolate in this more measured way means we've arrived here, a follow up of sorts to 2016's 'Columbusing'
This is Monkz allowing the ear ringing of gigs to feedback organically into bright dance floor flashes, which by virtue of their careful crafting are destined to last much longer.
On Zero Sum, we get a much greater economy of elements on the pared down dance floor ammo like 'Freaks N Prophets' & 'Chai Tea', a perfect counterpoint to beautifully realised pieces like 'Them Thangs feat Ms Fae' & 'After Dark with Nikki O' interspersed with funk-heavy workouts and sample jams like 'Easy Still', 'LvnLmtd' & the unashamedly KDJ influenced shamanism of 'WhatUthinkIDo'
It's a pick 'em and stick 'em ride of individual gems and a cohesive whole too. The opposite of thrown together, this has been worked and weathered, naturally. The House always wins, but sometimes...just sometimes.

Minimal piece 'Ignorance and Want' follows...a dark swirling adventure through the sonic spectrum with a heavy a rolling bassline at the foundation, plus rolling sub, and white noise blips.

'Frequences Test' is a is a low flying electro outing a la vintage Drexciya with a dark cinematic feel, conjuring up visions of gliding through an empty dystopian future city landscape on a planet far from home.
Donnara closes the EP with his beautiful and delicate ambient composition Юлия. A light rain falls as the arpeggiated marimbas creep in and the subtle strings float above caressing the ears, relaxing the mind.

2 track vinyl compilation featuring the roots of modern dance music, on 180g heavyweight double LP. P&P was producer and Harlem hustler Peter Brown’s production company. He created some of the greatest moments in underground African American dance music, across a handful of labels in the 70s and 80s.

Due to his independent ethos his releases on imprints such as Heavenly Star, Sound Of New York, La Shawn, P&P and others would often disappear after a single low numbered pressing making them incredible hard to find on original pressing.

Tracks such as Mary Clarke’s ‘Take Me I’m Yours’, and the Fosters Jackson Group’s ‘Feel The Spirit’ have been championed by DJs such as Floating Points and Dimitri from Paris. Whilst the sheer rarity of some singles such as Clyde Alexander and Sanction’s ‘Got To Get Your Love’ and Louise Murray’s ‘Let’s Just Stay Away’ would set you back multiple hundreds of pounds to buy on original copies.

The Our Starry Universe label is proud to announce it’s official launch with the debut release by Nick Chacona & Tim Wagner’s A Separate Reality.
