Mark Seven's PARKWERKS.. Hard, Raw, and Raunchy Dubs for DJ's

Any historians keen on the subject of "French youth in the 1980s" are holding a treasure in their hands. As a true archaeologist of this decade dedicated to disposable culture, digger-in-chief Vidal Benjamin with his newest compilation, 'Pop Sympathie', offers them a unique journey in the heart of the cyclone of emotions that struck all teenagers during the first seven years of François Mitterrand's mandate. Fifteen musical nuggets, exhumed from the dungeons of history, each and every one of them teaching us about what really obsessed the youngsters at that exact moment, i.e. what happens when the city lights come on at dusk, when irrepressible urges that stir them to get lost even more appear until the end of the night.

The artists gathered here did not have the honour of breaking into the local charts, but they all individually reached for the sky. Each song of 'Pop Sympathie' tells more or less the same story: that of a girl who throws herself into the night like one immerses one's self into the void, who rushes into a one-night adventure to become a star. And too bad if in the early morning she finds herself back at square one. In all these miniature odysseys there is neon lights, lasers, smoke machines, broken glass on checkered tiles, strangers on leather benches, celebrities in the bathrooms, stolen kisses, alcohol, drugs and cigarettes, Polaroids, venetian blinds and radioactive tubes.

If the first opus of Vidal Benjamin, 'Disco Sympathie', focused on the funky mood of songs that could have been played at Le Palace, then 'Pop Sympathie' develops itself as the imaginary soundtrack of another nightclub, Les Bains-Douches, the capital’s epicenter of nocturnal drifts. So what do we listen to, blasé, at Bains-Douches? Mainly synthesizers. The child of punk and post punk, French New Wave celebrates the matrimony of machines and lolitas under the auspices of a retro trend that revisits the atomic age. Trying to surf on that wave and hit the charts, a bunch of producers (Stéphane Berlow, Laurent Stopnicki, Bernard "Black Devil" Fèvre, Johny Rech, Jean-Yves Joanny ...) will spot their talents amongst friends, in a travel agency or at the local bar. These virtual stars are called Cecilia, Laurent, Sonia, Janou, Fabienne, Anne, Arielle or Ronan, not even 20 years old, and often leaving just an overexposed photo and their first name on a single as the only memories of their swift passage in this particular musical story. It took all the love and sweet madness of Vidal Benjamin to bring them back in the light of day.

Original released on the Musix Records imprint in 1982, produced by legendary Italian producer Maurizio 'Sangy' Sangineto. (Change, Armed Gang, Firefly). Including a New Mix by Dino Soccio from LA (for his Pleasure of Love release) and re-worked by Dutch producer Orson Welsh: giving this Italo-sound classic a more powerful touch. On the B-side the original 1982 version, as well as the much sought-after 'Soul Version'!

Giovanni Damico is back for another round on Lumberjacks. The b-side fills some percussion heavy funkdriven excursion into deepness while the A-Side is as Disco as it gets. Again four unmatched tracks from the italian wunderkind.

Tempo Dischi's second release is one of electronic music’s seminal albums; 1798 Italian space disco album: Automat by Automat.

A year after the release of Oxygène by Jean Michel Jarre, a milestone for electronic music, “Automat" was released in Italy, a timeless record that has influenced the years to come. Released in 1978 by EMI Italia, the album has been produced by two veteran italian songwriters and composers, Romano Musumarra and Claudio Gizzi after meeting Mario Maggi, one of the major innovators in the manufacturing of electronic instruments in Italy. Maggi invented the first programmable monophonic synthesizer ever made: the MCS70. Its sounds have been the basis for the production of the whole Automat album. That synth was used only for this record and remained a prototype, leaving a halo of mystery behind this record.

The album moves in the furrows of an atypical space disco, with abstract classical arias alternating with more sustained rhythms, which combine electronic experiments, progressive psychedelic journeys with cinematic themes. The A Side, composed by Gizzi is an electronic disco-tinged suite divided into three parts (The Rise, The Advance, The Genius). Ater a brief spatial intro, the insistent arpeggio expands into a soundtrack theme with a sumptuous melody, which slowly fades away to make room for a progressive psychedelic journey. The B Side, composed by Musumarra, is made by three tracks, including ‘Droid‘, one of the most representative songs of the electronic music of the early eighties. A magic sequence between the bassline, the electro drums, and the spatial disco theme with a futuristic and cinematic mood. This is a record that has influenced the music of our days and after 40 years may still sound contemporary.

Our sixth release marks the closing of a circle: Lucky Charmz—the man of our first release, Follow Me To Flottbeck Falls'-EP—returns to deliver his second full length effort. LHLT006 is the U Still Coming Over'-EP, a long overdue follow up to his first EP: More than anything else, it's a fresh slice of summer groovers. Opener Faceless Goat' instantly delights with it's majestic opening chords, only to unleash a smashing grandeur of sample fun and lustful grooves. It's a no-vocals-required anthem, rich in texture and yet subtly enchanting. While Faceless Goat is probably best enjoyed blasted out to vast, scenic landscapes on mediterranean costs from the terrace of a ancient estate, it is also tried and tested for Vorzech', houseparties and—of course—any club scenario (it won't fail you). We cannot help but to notice that Latency Jam''s stoic groove recalls the jungle books's march of the elephants, it's spacey synth madness points to outer space and, well, did we mention that It's super funky Yes, it's a funky spacewalk towards jupiter with your awesome, intergalactic elephant friends. Sonically charming with it's rapid fire hi-hat's, bubblegumspongecake melodies and zapping space laser's, that've all trickled out of a Nord Lead Young Lucky once laid hands on, Latency Jam' will also never let you down. On the flip we find Waffle Cut', yet another sun-oozing Lucky Charmz tune. Captivating trickle-down arpeggios radiate warmth, while soft pads sooth you into hypnosis. It's a bit like staring at the big yellow in the sky for too long—you get all frizzy, drizzy and a little silly.

After CV’s double Special Delivery LP released in 2018, Edit Service is back with its fifth release, an EP of edits by the young Moscovite duo known as Ólta Karawane, noticed for their edits on Maturre and Discos Capablanca. We’ve been playing their edits very often lately, so it seemed natural to release them on Edit Service. a1 - les portrait le diacre astvatsatour sarkissian Opening the EP is this early 80’s antipodean cut somewhere between new wave and post-punk where a shopping list is recited by a male and a female voice engaged in call and response. Innocent and catchy on the surface with its electric keyboard, primitive drum machine and bass guitar, it seems there is something perverse lurking within this tune.

a2 - folle vendredi soir On this cut, Ólta Karawane take an obscure guitar-driven Italian tune from the early 80s with coolly detached vocals that are closer to New York’s phlegmatic post-punk than Rimini’s exuberant italo. Extending the tune and reinforcing the dance-inducing rhythmic section, the Russian duo’s edit is a groovy affair.

a3 - farine The original was a late 80’s hit by an Austrian pop band, with a bassline not far from that of a seminal italo-german hi-nrg hit. This mid tempo edit strips it down to its bare essentials, synth arpeggios, 808 programming, and various bits and bobs. Extended, it’s a catchy and compelling cut.

b1 - oinj Here Ólta Karawane take a dissonant art rock tune from a British producer and focus on underlining the track’s intricate melodic and subtle but danceable rhythmic arrangements. There is a playful and slightly mysterious Eastern feel on this edit fit for hash dens.

b2 - racaille Closing the EP is an edit of a highly-influential Swiss producer. The original was released in the mid-80’s and has proto-trance written all over it. By slowing it down and extending it, Ólta Karawane highlight the warm and bittersweet analog synth arpeggio at the track’s core and make the electro beat driving the tune even more spacious.

We are very proud to announce the birth of our sister OOSSHA. She goes by many names but her true name is called out by visceral drums and rattling rhythms. OOSSHA is a new platform of the SoHaSo imprint that focusses on a warmer landscape. It is an outlet for music that's dedicated to house and alternative styles while always maintaining fierce and unique ingredients that conquer hearts. Pitto is the first artist to lead the OOSSHA way. His Panthers On The Roof EP is an ode to the wonderful and weird. Lepel Jazz's infectious groove and skewed bass patterns serves as the main course dish here. I Do The Case With A Chase brings a more musical side to the kitchen table. Filtered sample chords, meticulous drum programming and vocal parts all work together in a well-oiled dancefloor curveball with a sense of acid tribalism. Prins Thomas reworks Lepel Jazz in an even more odd, and yes perverted, affair. Stripping the elements and utilizing hypnotizing descending synth arpeggio's and sweaty field recordings to maximum effect. B2's Dum Dum is a hymn to get through life smiling. With its irresistibly contagious vocal and wonky bassline, it's a massive funk weapon and a worthy final dish to conclude a delicious menu.

Dan Curtin needs little introduction; his unique blend of hi-tech funk & aerobic programming inhabits an unmistakable island of deep techno all to it's own. We journeyed to this island in search of long-buried treasure and struck gold: four energetic gems from Curtin's unreleased archive circa 1998-2001. Get ready to let loose.

For it’s second-release, Planisphere returns once more to the Berlin studio of Swiss-Turkish producer Mehmet Aslan, who has fast become one of the most fiercely individual and increasingly prolific emerging artists in some time.

This three-track EP is arguably Aslan’s most-refined work to date, aiming squarely at heads-down dancefloors, riding on sophisticated and hypnotic grooves. On ‘Comme II Faut’, a minimal beat unravels Aslan’s textural, traditional samples, delivering a woozy and intoxicating atmosphere.

Meanwhile, ‘Lobster Is Coincidence’ christens the EP with its title and a stop-start slice of unpredictable, cut-up psychedelia, utilizing obscure samples to generate esoteric funk. On the contrary, Aslan executes a tapestry of tightly-wound and no less entrancing rhythms on ‘Kakusui’, which evolves intriguingly with a subtle half-step and further echoes of Aslan’s unique musical heritage.

Returning for her second release on Phantasy, Terr captures further dancefloor magic on the blistering ‘Energy Sync’.

Following the success of ‘Tale of Devotion’, the Brazilian-born, Berlin-based producer continues to distill her exquisite instincts into an irresistible single that blends electro and disco influences with flawless song writing.

Built around a heartfelt and vulnerable refrain, the ‘Club Mix’ takes just seconds to explode into a wide-eyed anthem in waiting, maintaining pure ecstasy and cascading energy until it’s final, sensual modulation. On the contrary, Terr transforms the track into a wistful, weightless electro-pop moment for the ‘Original Mix’, building a slower if no less celebratory groove around her own vocals, which also feature as an acapella.

Resilience is an album that calls on the classic rave sounds of Chrissy's Midwestern youth to explore themes of love, positivity, perserverence, acceptance, and the fight against cynicism. Get ready for big piano melodies, chopped breakbeats, heavy bass, and jacking Chicago drum programming, plus guest appearances from some of Chrissy's friends: vocalist Carrie Wilds, Portuguese DJ/producer/singer Maria Amor, and Berlin-based techno artist Dean Grenier. Chrissy is a genre-bending DJ/producer with releases on Classic, Freerange, Razor N Tape, Hypercolour, and Planet Mu, and a 20-year DJ career spanning Chicago house, disco, rave, jungle, footwork, and more. He ran the influential 'My Year of Mixtapes' blog, and currently runs two record labels: The Nite Owl Diner and Cool Ranch.

It is a cliché to describe music as a trip or an ocean or whatever, so this album, Tecwaa’s album “Beyond the Altai” released on Höga Nord Rekords, will in part be described as a snowman: the snowman has its characteristic familiar shape. He is cold yet there is something warm and cuddly about him, something that makes you feel happy and safe.

The A side on the album goes from that warm/cold cosy feeling but elements of destruction like melodies in minor keys slowly transforms the album to become only cold and not so cosy - the snow turns grey and the snowman’s smiling mouth becomes a twisted grin. Its contours disappears and the shape dissolves as the snow melts and floats out on the ground beneath its body. As the album develops, the sound gets harder and darker and the York based DJ moves closer to his roots in electro and Roland-machine knob-turning.

In some ways, “Beyond the Altai” is a call from the eighties and nineties dancefloors like in the tracks “Back To The Atomic Ether” and “10 Swords” on the B-side but all melts together in Tecwaa’s music to create his own obstinate and loose sound!

This is the music for our times; our darkening times. The Imbeciles are making the soundtrack for the world we really live in, which is set to become increasingly angry, unhappy, unfair, and messed up. “The world is slowly imploding.” That’s the warning from The Imbeciles, and the message behind its first album. The idea of what to do emerged like a surprise attack.

“I don’t even know where it came from… it ambushed us,” says Butch Dante, of the band’s forthcoming self-titled debut album. “To us it looks like mankind will endgame itself in this millennium, and probably within the next 100 or 200 years. The Imbeciles as harbingers of that fall. We’re pointing out that the world is imploding, for many reasons — environmental, political, technological, and ultimately because human beings themselves forgot how to be humane, how to be kind.”

“Saying we are political would infer that we have some faith in the political system. We don’t. Or that we have answers, a solution to prevent this coming slow apocalypse. But we don’t. Latest single “D.I.E.” is “a lament for the end of the world. With references to global endgames. They’re grim. All self-inflicted. The chorus is epic when played live. It’s incredibly passionate. People really get into it.” And now it’s been remixed.

Red Rack'em's take on is wonderfully curveball as one might expect; homing in on one unique part of the vocal and making it the fullcrum, from which his psychedelic, deep-house, hardcore jazzathon is then able to blossom and unravel before your very eyes. Atmospheric, experimental and hooky too - clever business from the Bergerac boss.

Next up we have the amazing Oliver Ho and his Broken English Club. Here we witness a more flagrant and faithful use of stems, and through layering both the band's parts, and instruments of his own design - he transforms 'D.I.E.' into a towering slab of dark and raw, industrial EBM.

Young Marco stepped into the ESP Institute one day in 2012 with a handful of undeniably brilliant music, and has ever since maintained an integral role in the mission of the label. Riotvan premiere! This EP marks the first release of an act on the Leipzig-based label which was not contrived in its direct commuting area. Which obviously doesn't mean that the city lacks fresh output at the moment. But these five Thomalla tracks are simply too good to leave them to another label.

Gerd fired up the legendary Yamaha DX100 synth and proves he's still the master of machines from Planet FMDX. 4 housey techno tracks ranging from the beautiful melancholic to dancefloor stomper.

DJ and producer Orlando Voorn has delivered the release of his club-ready EP, 'Positive Vibes', set to drop on NICEPEOPLE.

Opening the release with the EP-titled 'Positive Vibes', a slick record filled with strong tribal elements, the track is followed by 'One Day', an infectious after-hours rumbler. With Voorn also crafting a warm, driven mix of 'Matta', the EP is rounded off by 'Ghetto Techno', a synth-led track filled with the producer's rhythmic tones.

A slick display of the Dutchman's prowess in the studio, the new 4-track Positive Vibes EP is set for release on Wednesday 10th April via NICEPEOPLE.

collecting a batch of tracks that was recorded right after it's preceder and in tandem with the recent "Square One"album with Bjørn Torske.
A "freedom"album of sorts, beyond the slightly misleading album opener "Here comes the band" there's a variety in these tracks tracing inspiration from 35 years (unhealthy)obsession with all things "good music" played enthusiastically.
"5" also marks the launch of my new label "Prins Thomas Musikk".

Melodic ideas hummed into a handheld recorded and specific notes about instrumentation scribbled down while on holiday in Villajoyosa in Spain turned into this little ditty when back in slightly colder Norway.

Made in bed during a rough patch of bronchitis. Heavily influenced by prescription cough medicine.
Orbe from Madrid made a dizzy techno version which comes out soon enough...

I find great inspiration in working on new ideas while travelling the skies. Partly inspired by a detour into the soundtrack of my early teens (Paul Hardcastle, Warp 9, Maze, Mtume...)this particular one was started on a bumpy flight home from Athens and later finished in my tiny M57 Studio(R.I.P.)

After the sold-out first edition of Correcciones, Mexican label Calypso returns with Volume 2 of the series, unveiling four strong contenders for Edit of the Year. Starting things off, Calypso co-label boss Thomass Jackson has his way with a weirdo Polish jazz
/ fusion / funk track that keeps turning left while continually finding the right direction.

Russian label regulars Simple Symmetry join forces with co-label boss INigo Vontier to deliver a "monster peak-time mantra" that's as perfect for morning rites as it is for nocturnal adventures.
On the B-side, New York's Facets slows down the tempo of an old goa gem - the result has already gotten support from the likes of Intergalactic Gary, Alexis Le Tan and many others.
Volume 2 closes out in the hands of Italian dandys Marvin & Guy, who offer a magnificent take on a forgotten disco classic. -
Timeless edits indeed.

Next up on Francis Harris' exceptional imprint Scissor & Thread comes a collaboration with American Producer, DJ Aakmael. Aakmael has built a reputation for some of the deepest, rawest house music sounds coming out of the States, releasing well-received tracks on the likes of Freerange Records, Release Sustain, Kolour Dogmatik and NDATL. Returning to Scissor & Thread, Aakmael and label boss Harris cook up an intoxicating vibe across this 5 track EP. Each shares a track and work together on the fifth, while also remixing each other's solo cuts. First up Aakmael's Deep Muzik- a quintessential nod to its self-proclaimed mission statement. Skittering drums, a shuffling groove, deep keys, and chords make up this essential opener. Frank's (aka Francis Harris) All That Light Mix shows another side, finding pockets of space and developing the fizzing percussion to produce an equally affecting piece of dancefloor bliss. Sharing production duties from the outset on Mercy of Means, the guys slip into an easy mid-tempo groove with plenty of depth - the rhythm rolls along and offers the perfect basis for some sublime melodic touches. Frank's Part Song also hones in on the subtle deep grooves. Bumping, slightly filtered and saturated drums provide the main body, with beautiful washes and keys finding their way through, Aakmael's remix beefs up the groove somewhat, making the snares snap harder and kick hit a little stronger, but the essence of the tracks melodic atmosphere remains perfectly in place.

The Patchouli Brothers deliver four raw tunes, looped for optimum dancefloor ecstasy. On the A side 'He Wonders' is a squelching synthy, guitar laden gem, extended and reworked for full cosmic galacticness. 'A Mighty Joy' follows up with a slice of gospel disco gold, expertly tweaked to enrich your soul with spiritual goodness.On the B side 'Can't Stop Christy' is laced with a good helping of slap bass and trumpet flurries alongside the elusive Christy trading licks with that hazy distorted guitar. Closing out the e.p. 'Take You There' channels the glory days of disco into a six-and-half-minute reglammed opus.

Shir Khan Presents Black Jukebox 28 featuring legendary producer Arthur Baker. Highly limited as usual. First come - first serve.
Arthur and Laz met at MURKs famed Monday residency at Coyo Tacos Wynnwood Miami where Casanova is a resident and Baker a guest resident. Baker was inspired by the music that Laz and the MURK boys played with collaborations with MURK on the tracks “MIAMI” and “COYO” following. Laz and ABs first joint collab is the eps opener “MAKOSSA”. It started off from a few 80s loops out of Bakers vast catalogue, with Casanova whipping them in shape. It’s been battle tested over the last few years and finely tuned to Bomb like results. “CALE!” features the vocal and production skills of MURKs legendary Oscar. He added the hook and a few nudges in a late night session at Casanova little Havana studio. There’s an original mix and the stripped down drum and vocal take.
“BTS HAPPINESS” started its life as a loop from a Baker cassette rough mix circa 78. It reminded him of an old Booker T and the MG groove, this the name. He brought his old friend (& ex wife) Tina b ( of Rockers Revenge, Tripping on Sunshine and Jazzy Sensation fame amongst others) to do some disco vocalizing. Casanova added the tight final mix.

After his previous banger 'Love Saves the Day' got hands in the air on dance floors all over the world, well, it turns out that Casbah 73 was just warming up.

This new double A-sided release kicks off with 'To Be Free', an ambitious and, dare we say it, timeless number. It sees the welcome return of the very talented Angela Gooden, her alternatively seductive and evocative vocals riding a sumptuously warm and rich groove featuring a sparkling string section and anchored by a heavyweight golden era disco rhythm section. Classic yet modern, this will set any dance floor alight.

Over on the flip-side, 'Doing Our Own Thing' is a massive, full-on instrumental jazz-funk boogie cut rich in live instrumentation, clocking in at just over nine minutes and showing off a killer horn section to full effect. The dazzling interplay between the various players has peak-time euphoria written all over it, and those nine minutes are over way too soon.

The new single is a more than worthy successor to last year's 'Love Saves The Day', an insatiably funky slice of disco soul that smacked of raw authenticity (and one of the funkiest bass breakdowns you'll hear in a long while). A "proper" composition recorded live in the studio with an excellent cast of musicians, it found favour with many of the scene's more open-minded DJs across the board.

All through the nineties, revered digger/vinyl dealer Oli Stewart aka Casbah 73 trawled across America leaving no warehouse standing in his quest for the rare and the downright elusive. His knack for discovering, or bringing to light many an unknown classic, meant his reputation with DJs and producers around the globe was legendary.

This is the first time this ground-breaking release has been available on 12" for four decades.

That instantly recognizable bassline, the cosmic guitar and then that vocal / flute combo - 'Expansions' is one of those glorious jazz funk records that really does expand your mind.

n our seventh release we are thrilled to add a new name to our roster. Cameo Blush is the project of John Dunk from London. Some might already know him as a member of Ross From Friends live. Listening to The „Murky Waters“ EP, it is hard to believe this actually is Cameo Blush's debut release. Every track is oozing with emotional depth, invention and a purposeful confidence. „Murky Waters“, all glistening arpeggios and seductive alien vocals, sounds like a hyperkinetic dollie shot through a Manga style metropolis. „Hypervisibility“ then is taking clues from masters of abstract Electronica like Isolée, Lusine and Boards Of Canada, creating an audible allegory of longing and sensuality. „Prophet Paradise“ on the b-side soundtracks the holodeck projection of a dayglow beach under a neon sun. And finally, „Year 2000 Problem“ resumes the futuristic Manga theme evoking images of bots passing the Turing test, overflowing with joy and falling desperately in love.

POINTS OF INTEREST: – Cameo Blush is currently working on a live set which he will premiere during the Touch From A Distance takeover at this years' Field Maneuvers festival.

Back in the area. Banoffee Pies original imprint continues with BP007. The more serious and leftfield off shoot under the labels wing this time inviting the introduction of two new label members on this 4 track VA. Toma Kami opens the A1 with the title Rivershells, a slowly erupting swirl of percussion and progressive drums. A real head turner.
The A2 comes from Pablo Marco with his second addition to Banoffee after his breakbeat power track on their Black Label Series Imprint earlier in the year. Murmuring vocals and a swirling feeling with 'All About' - sure fire dance floor reset button included.
The B1. comes from Liem & Eddie Ness, who's split EP with ac$ on the earlier released BP005 analog acid record was enough to invite a return appearance this time with leftfield 'Fujiyama', and welcoming of K-Lone previously known for his involvement on the powerful Bristol label, Wisdom Teeth with a down tempo track with warm spherical sounds.

Records much-loved label sampler series continues with Vol.12 of their Attack The Dancefloor 12" vinyl releases.

This latest volume sees a JN remix of the classic Bobby D'Ambrosio track 'Moment of My Life' featuring the incredible Michelle Weeks on vocals and killer hammond solos galore. Alongside this, an expertly extended JN edit of American electro-funk duo The APX's boogie bomb 'Lose Yourself To The Groove', ready set for the dancefloor.

Also housed on this release, a Doug Willis raw edit of Carlos Romanos - 1 2 1 and a remake of one of Joey Negro's most played disco cuts 'K - Jee'. A track which holds a special place in JN's heart - the MSFB rework nestled on the Saturday Night Fever Soundtrack which happened to be the first LP Dave Lee (JN) ever bought.

Public Release once again plunges into the deep well of dance music talent it's hometown of San Francisco has long fostered for Moon Replacement, the debut single by Anderson Chase, two originals wrapped around a couple remixes of its titular track.

Clocking in at over eight minutes, “Moon Replacement” is a tense, drawn-out affair. It coaxes you onto the dancefloor with hardedged drums that slap with a metallic clang, a steely bass throb that defines its backbone, and spindly synth noodles that creep around the crust on top. Chase’s previous life as a punk and metal drummer seeps through; this is a tenacious house boogie that trundles along at that Goldilocks BPM of 118, fast enough to snap you to attention, slow enough that you don’t lose stamina as you give into the groove.

Japanese house producer Gonno, known for his ability to graft scalpel-sharp minimal techno loops onto out-there, mindexpanding arrangements, puts his own spin on the song for the A2 slot.
He darkens the mood while zapping it with a static charge to quicken its pace. On the reverse is Mark E’s take, which goes in the opposite direction, applying some heat so the square structure’s joins start to melt, wiggle, wobble. The bottom is still stocky, a molten mass of heavy-duty bass energy, but the melody that dances around the top is airier and lighter, glints of sunshine through storm clouds.

And then “Between Us” arrives to stick the landing, get us back to where we started. Like “Moon Replacement,” it’s a blocky foot-stomper that directs you forward with its tireless rhythm section, though this time with an even longer shadow cast behind it.

Faze Action Records presents the official reissue of three of Micky Milans classic tracks from the early 80's, including the stunning "Quando Tu Danses", orginally recorded in 1980. This hybridAof Disco and Brazilian music, with percussion and infectious piano hooks, has been given a re edit by Pacha resident Willie Graff and is already receiving big support from DJ Harvey at his Pikes residency in Ibiza. This track is now officially available for the first time on one side of a 12".
Micky Milan came to prominence in the early to mid 70s as one of France's first DJ's to support the Funk and Disco sounds from the US. Packing out clubs in Paris and delivering marathon sets til 6 in the morning, Milan quickly earned a reputation as a top DJ in the Paris nightlife scene with touring artists such as Prince, Madonna, Delegation all dropping in to catch him spin.
On B1 we have "C'est Une Bombe", a classic example of French boogie, included here is the Faze Action Edit and on B2 we have the dreamy balearic boogie sounds of "Les Vacances On S'Eclate, On S'Evade".
