'90s Techno-mantra Produced By Tbilisi's Producer Sarasvat. Three Dance-floor Killer Tracks In Memory Of Tbilisi' Strike Against Police Raid. Rave It!

LOYOTO are the East-Berlin born Eva Be and Cle from the western part of the formerly dived city. Both started their DJ and producer career almost at the same time in the heart of the then developing scene, the very center of Berlin, just after the wall came down. Originally rooted in very different styles of music, they encountered for the first time DJing together in 2011, finding common ground in more than just music - a gig, that should lead to more: They decided to combine their talents and knowledge and build a studio together. Here, and during legendary back2back DJ sets, they finally united their different musical backgrounds - dub/reggae and underground house music - and defined their very own sound.

Mu¨stesna is an Istanbul based independent record label founded in 2018 with an aim to reveal and re-evaluate the underrated sounds which was either forgotten, or not yet discovered.

Their first release comes with a selection of tracks recorded between 1995-2006 by Etnik Sentetik, the infamous electro synth-pop band from Istanbul. This 8 track LP offers a dark journey of uncanny sounds, fostered by 90's influenced raw electro-acid beats and eerie vocals.

Poker Flat Recordings drop a new four track EP from Greek Techno / House producer Thanasis Voulgaris. Under his Kindimmer moniker, Voulgaris has been putting out quality dancefloor music since 2010, including a handful of releases already for Steve Bug's iconic Poker Flat label. 'Merge', the title track sets the tone with a killer, propulsive rhythm, adding chopped up organ stabs and shuffling funky percussion. 'Swift Changes' has a similar deft touch, all slinky chords that bring about thoughts of the classic Detroit sound, while adding his own signature take. 'It's Coming' is a little harder, with a booming kick and tricky hats, before opening up into another deep bomb that will keep the more discerning floors in raptures. 'Ride With Me' flexes its funk - the groove jacks a little harder and the vibe is definitely ready to make the basements sweat.

Art Vandelay is one of the last projects Marcus Intalex aka Trevino had ready for release before his untimely passing. Launching the Vandelay Industries label with an EP of cheeky, Chicago informed House music, VDI001 is another testament to Marcus Kaye's broad musical talents.

Superstar DJ Grace has been busy - sampling TS Madison's legendary call out of Caitlyn Jenner after the Trump inauguration last year. TS's cutting disses mixed with the warm statements of tran unity caught Grace's ear, resulting in a ten and half minute acid lick complete with deep chords to bring the mood and stay true to her original deep house vibe. This first release on Grace's label TruVanity ft. remixes by Brooks and Grace herself. Check it!

'Detona' (to detonate) opens the Ep in a relentless way, with a rhythm that swallows everything around, pushing and pushing and then pushing some more.

'Shu Shu' is where things get dirty and hi-hats are unleashed like flying knives over our heads.

Also take a listen to the flip side, where we bring in our household rhythm smith Mijo to remix 'Shu Shu' in his inimitable style.

And then, the cherry on top: 'Ramp and Rage'. Just release this train of a track in front of a 4am audience with a proper sound system -maybe throw a little strobe light in the mix- and let it do it's thing. Dog barking samples included.

ACID FIKA, a slice of the Swedish Acid scene. Here we have an absolute massive compilation of current Acid from Sweden. Featuring Robert Leiner, Dungeon Acid, Tilliander, Villa Abo, Cari Lekebusch, NoS, Helltown Acid Militia and Daniel Araya. Each artist brings to the table their own unique flavor of the Swedish acid sound. Mastered by 6Bit Deep in Copenhagen and pressed on heavyweight vinyl, a future classic in the making.

After gaining international praise from their hugely successful EP, 'L.D.O.E', Aaaron & Deckert return to the stage, this time debuting their forthcoming EP, 'Wide Eyes', on Scatcity Records. The pair offer more of their immersive and melodic techno, with
JMII and Skatman coming through on the remix duties. 

Low-pounding subs sets 'Wide Eyes' menacing tone from the very start, filtering gradually a range of rumbling low-end synths against a punchy drum pattern. Slow warbling synths slowly build into the tracks main attraction; Nessi, who offers a raw and chilling vocal display that floats you effortlessly into the early hours. 

With 'Titans', the duo once again build upon their impressive sub-heavy work, this time enriching their creation of dense musical atmospheres through a range of mystic synth chords and deep brass attacks that expand and resonate throughout. 

Skatman flips the headline track entirely, stripping back Nessi's vocals to only display her deep soulful howls that echo over his impressive melodic chord sequencing.

JMII's remix of 'Titans' Is definitely one for the later hours, transforming the duos sub heavy realm into a range of crunchy, industrial drum patterns that multiply across an array of analogue synth lines.

Following well received EPs from Myriadd and Q-Chip, Gnosis are ecstatic to have prolific UK producer Nigel Rogers (aka Ellis De Havilland, Operator Tracey, Orpheus, Pagan Ritual, Sir Leon Greg etc.) on board for their third release.

'Drowning In Your Eyes' is a four track EP recorded under his Perseus Traxx handle. A name he's used for a mass of relentlessly creative output on Bunker, Chiwax, I Love Acid, M>O>S Recordings, Solar One Music, Barba Records and Hardmoon London to name but a few.

Hot off the heels of CDH005 by DJ Lettuce, French imprint Chineurs de House releases Chabha Dassin Hakku, an EP by established Swiss producer Pascal Viscardi.

LA HESS

The EP opens with this engaging tune. It is driven by the sequence of warm and thick TB-303 bassline and drum machine programming reminiscent of Chicago jakbeat. In addition to lush pads, the producer uses dreamy wind instrument sounds as well as arpeggios of a cosmic persuasion. The result is deep and dance-inducing at the same time, and this tune is an efficient but far from simplistic dancefloor weapon.

Tizi Ouzou

Here's another journey of a track, with an elegant sound design that is reminiscent of soft focus in video, where Viscardi shows his impressive production skills. With the raw pulse of the rhythmic section coupled with vintage synth programming, bodies are put in motion. With oriental-sounding melodies, deep chords and hand percussion samples, the mind loses itself. Geared for the dancefloor but almost experimental, this is a very special track waiting to be unleashed by DJs who dare to be different.

Maladie d'Amour

It is impossible to sit still while listening to this track, a slice of robust deep house with a clear African influence. It is built around a highly compelling beat, with a variety of samples, male vocals and dizzying pads. Viscardi reminds us that less is more and he manages to create a classy and floaty tune that is nonetheless geared for the dancefloor.

Village Numérique

This track is a downtempo gem. It's a soulful affair at the crossroads of the Balearic and afro worlds. Percussion sounds, marimba melodies, vintage electric keyboard chords, a plodding bassline, sound FX and spoken word are masterfully combined by Viscardi to close the EP in style with this slow-burning tune.

The product of a songwriting duo in the rich tradition of Tiga/Hulkkonen and Tiga/McCartney, "Stay Cool" marks a return of sorts to the classic Tiga sound, which is now the modern Tiga & Clarian sound. The kinda-underground acid techno grooves and magnanimously biting lyrics paint a picture so contemporary it threatens to make you live in the moment for the rest of your life.

What began organically with Clarian contributing material and production to Tiga's 2016 No Fantasy Required LP has evolved into a contractually-mandated partnership. Having already worked with the likes of Jamie Principle, Felix Da Housecat and Guy Gerber, the Montreal-born musician is no stranger to "the hot collab," but was still taken aback by the rigorously enforced freedom he enjoyed during the "Stay Cool" sessions. "Tiga will be the first to tell you he has no ego in the studio, and in my experience that is the absolute truth," says Clarian. "Every idea I have, every part I write, we split the credit right down the middle."

"Stay Cool" is a real-time disintegration of the boundaries between Tiga's public passion for music and his private obsession with digital entertainment currencies like Quarthonium Bronze and LavaBucks. "It occurred to me that what I could not stop myself from doing - typing 'HOLD YOUR POSITION' over and over in my crypto group chat - also served as an apt illustration of my heroic lifelong wrestling match with the idea of cool. And this epiphany has opened up my experience into a 360-degree panorama of creative possibility," enthuses Tiga. "Soon, I'll be haggling over blueberries at the farmer's market and Clarian will instantly turn in into the sound of the summer, whether you like it or you love it."

"You're So Special" emerged from the songwriting team sitting around the drum machine in shirtsleeves with a pot of piping-hot coffee, waiting for piping-hot inspiration to strike. The lyrics ably grapple with the now, openly wondering about the direction of bleeding-edge compassion. "You see it everywhere, from airport bookstores stocked with variations on The Art of Not Giving a Fuck to airline pilots taking time off to work on themselves mid-flight," hectors Tiga, wagging his finger for needed emphasis. "I don't pretend to have all the answers, but what I also don't pretend to have is patience for those who pretend to do."

Seth Troxler & The Martinez Brothers' Tuskegee Music welcomes a standout dance music innovator with a new EP from Chicago great Jamal Moss.

Moss is best known as Hieroglyphic Being, an artist who cooks up raw, inventive, rule breaking tracks and live sets of techno, house, and acid. His uncompromising style is informed by having grown up seeing the likes of Ron Hardy play at the legendary Muzic Box in his native Chicago. He runs the esteemed Mathematics label and is hugely prolific as well as being an artist who very much does things on his own terms, much to the delight of global press and his hardcore fanbase alike.

This double pack vinyl release opens up with the uniquely raw deep house of 'Salvation is the Cure', featuring icy hi hats and jacking drums which all have a live and authentic sound. A skewed acid line sprays about for extra ruggedness and distant chords bring a sense of futurism to the whole thing. 'The Bad Blood' is a majestic track of tumbling drums and off kilter percussive sounds all backed by exquisite synth work that exudes a pained sense of soul. It's loose limbed and dynamic, always evolving and featuring the sort of killer bassline that will send clubs wild.

Title track, 'R-Spirits Will Not Be Broken' then ups the ante with knackered, hard hitting drums that are frazzled and lo-fi, spinning hi hats that teeter on the edge of all out chaos. It's a bristling, edgy brew of in your face sounds that will blow the roof off whenever it's dropped. Last of all, 'The Low End Theories' is six more minutes of impressively instinctive, scuffed up drums, hits and twisted cosmic melodies. It sounds like chaos at first, but over time patterns emerge and you cannot help but be consumed by the strange beauty of it all.

This is a typically unique and expressive house offering from one of the most innovative names in the game.

The long awaited debut release from Melbourne based producer / personality Mousse is here! Until now, Mousse aka Simon Barry has kept his craft close to his chest and we finally hear the result of years of hard studio labour in the bungalow. Barry has been a crucial part of Melbourne's dance community for the past five or so years, co-hosting the legendary disco party 'Misty Nights' with Danny Hotep as well being a fixture at The House De Frost and Animals Dancing parties.

On the A side we have the anthemic 'Sex and Acid' and 'Big Fat Party Popper' two raw house tracks with links to early Chicago classics. Quirky sound effects and catchy vocals simmer on top of hot acid bassline to give you a couple of the summers most memorable bangers! But don't be fooled, Mousse is no one-trick-pony. On the flip we step out of the bungalow and into 'Afternoon Bloom' where jazzy pianos dance around a playful machine rhythm. Rounding out the four tracker 'Bare With Me' delivers an evolving house jam with a conversive synth line and dubbed out chords.

Bitterfeld is most known for their production of drain-pipes, paper-roofing and their amazing chemical production industry but it's a little known fact that Bitterfeld are also responsible for the production of amazing music. Some 900 years after the city's foundation they've finally found the time to establish a music label to reflect the city's rich musical heritage. The first release comes from Guy Contact. Expect chemical influenced electro, acid and house.

Lay-Far returns to GAMM with three slices of jazzy disco numbers that got joyful dancing written all over them.He's carefully selected his fave disco, jazz-funk and fusion tracks from Herbie Mann (Etagui), FSB (Morning) and Mass Production (Cosmic Lust) that were just asking for that special Moscow edit touch.

Roman Lindau is back and in true Lindau fashion delivers three groove heavy, red hot tunes ready for full on dance floor destruction with his 'Acid Bells' EP. The title track 'Acid Bells' fires off with agile percussion before quickly adding an infectious melody and vocal snaps brimming with attitude before finally unleashing a timeless acid hook which solidifies all the elements into a massive, peak time occasion. 'Rough Ride' follows suit but takes a more modish approach with lively grooves and hypnotic, whirling sonics that guarantee a wild floor burner. Wrapping things up is the final track 'I'm Restless' which perfectly balances powerful, four-to-the-floor Techno with moody, uplifting melodies assuring those moments where all eyes are closed and all hands are in the air. With a common language of abstract, modular techno Donato Dozzy and Peter van Hoesen are no strangers to each other's music or studios. 'Storta' has that psychedelic tribal aesthetic that has come to define their most recent live-hybrid performances. Dutch producer Deniro has garnered a more cult-like reputation for his spacey, progressive jams one that has earned him the admiration of Nina Kraviz who recently released his new EP Mendoza on her Trip label. Returning to Dekmantel, Deniro drives a soulful, journey to an intergalactic world that was shaped by the Gods of Detroit - smooth sauce, that Derrick May would surely approve of. Talismann, aka. Guy Blanken, aka. Makam, is the much travelled Dutch producer with a specialty for hypnotic drones, and apocalyptic rhythms. With a much beloved self-titled imprint distributed through Clone, Talismann makes his first foray onto the Dekmantel imprint with 'Aciano', a haunting series of raw acid, and prophetic beats. 'Sexual Frustration' by Matrixxman, is a continuation of the American producer's ever-growing relationship with Dekmantel. With three excellent EPs already released with the Dutch imprint Nubian Metropolis, Sector I: Rhythm, and Sector II: Acid- the latest endeavour by Charles Duff highlights his analogue dexterity, when a soft-pallette of vibrant, almost electro-like sounds.

After throwing their first ever party in the Dutch capital a decade ago, Dekmantel have come to establish themselves in underground music. 2017 saw Dekmantel launch a new festival in Brazil, adding to their Dutch outing in, as well as their Croatian jaunt, Selectors. Going from strength to strength, the label kicked off their, ten-part EP series in March. With one EP released every month, the series has been embracing all the musical varieties Dekmantel has come to represent. Featuring label favourites, along with a whole bunch of new faces, iconic artists, and select debuts, the 10-year series is an, collection of timeless music that embraces everything they’ve done to date, while setting a precedent for things to come.

After a 5 months hiatus the Appointment krew (Emg, Marieu, John Swing and Lucretio) is back to the game with another cluster bomb manufactured up to the latest discoveries in analogue techniques. Someone called it 'Subdisco techno infected', someone else labelled it as 'Innerground house', up to us, it's just Appointment 006: Reunion.

Back in 1995 while living on the West Coast, at the peak of the Rave Experience, Dj Spun and Dhyan Moller recorded a bunch of live tracks, without any sequencer, all direct to cassettes.
Spun aka Jason Drummond, reached out last spring after rediscovering all the cassettes and asked us if we'd be interested in releasing some of the tunes.
Jason shipped us the cassettes and after a good transferring session, we decided we had to release all the tracks under a 3LP set. This stuff is fire. We still love DJ SPUN - and Dhyan Moller!

Rhys Celeste aka Microlith passed away 26th February. 24 years old.The fatal weekend when Rhys lost his life I was mastering the tracks for his release in Fundamental Records. Rhys sent me the tracks only a few days before. He kept about forty untitled tracks for Fundamental Records and together we selected a perfect track list for the album. I was with all these melodies in my head all that weekend, I remember perfectly that feeling. Today I still have that special sensation that you can feel in all tracks composed by Rhys, something nostalgic with a big doses of happiness and hope in every note. When I was mastering his tracks I was like a young kid with a new record in my hands, each track is great, even the interludes are very special compositions.I am sure the people who support the projects we release in Fundamental Records will support this album not only for the circumstances but mainly because the quality of the tracks from someone with only 24 years... this is sad. I feel a deep emptiness inside of me because Rhys never listened the final tracks mastered... we released each track with the original references Rhys used for his tracks, except two tracks included in the very special 7. This feeling is something I can't explain in words, and it is very difficult to carry within me. The next monday after his death I was like out of my body, we had a mountain of work with the shipping of the 808 Box but I felt totally paralyzed, my wife Anais and I could hardly speak, we were speechless for some minutes, looking to the screen of the computer trying to understand what happened, then I decided I have to do what I said to Rhys only two days before, and I opened the player in my laptop and I started to work in the design for the cover with the music of Rhys in repeat mode. I was in front of the screen all day, printing many sketches and color variations.I called Fundamental Records to our label for a very good reason and this project deserves this adjective in full effect. For the same reason I also decided to release this album under the real name of the artist, Rhys Celeste and use his music name, Microlith, for the title.
