Back in 2015, Mancunian DJ and Producer Hidden Spheres aka Tom Harris joined the Rhythm Section family for our twelfth release. Storming into 2022 and approaching 50 releases Tom has a long overdue return to the label with a synthesis of electronic house vibrations.

‘You Are Not Your Body’ is a stellar collection of five tracks, which touch on the sensations of euphoria and the blissed-out intersection between early prog and Detroit House. Channeling energies for meditation and self love, things kick off with ‘Improvisation’ an electro infused eight minute workout, whilst ‘Euan 92’ is a festival-defining ‘hands-in-the-air’ anthem tried and tested by Bradley Zero on the road throughout 2021.

Love Your Body is a delightful disco-esque chugger reinforcing joyful energies and an infectious bass line to keep you wiggling on the dance floor. Things come to a close with a spaced out balearic house
remix by RS family favourite Ruf Dug.

Take a Trip was born of a love of Acid House and wanting to explore my mates 909 & 303!! The way they sing when programmed is mind blowing. There’s magic inside of them that creates something special. From Chicago’s Warehouse to London’s Shoom and Hedonism, Manchester’s Hacienda’s Hot and Nude nights, parties such as R.I.P., Spectrum, Zoo, The Trip, Apocalypse Now, Legends, the State, Rage an Sunrise. It’s a sound that will never fade.

Alan Dixon is back with his first ever acid track and it’s instant love. The disco producer hits the target with no compromise.

Hot on the heels of “Flesh Is A Prison” - the quirky, electronic wonderland he contributed to Cocoon’s phenomenal S compilation - the multi-talented Neil Landstrumm consolidates his position on the label roster with a debut 3-track EP that channels the uncompromising spirit of seminal UK labels like Network, Warp and Vinyl Solution.

It’s clear from the first few seconds of “Sun Universe” that we‘re being transported back to 90‘s UK rave culture at a point where rave, jungle and house were mutating into speed garage. Ruffness abounds as stuttering snare rolls accompany the rude boy bass, ragga samples and classic ‘hoover’ synth riff, while peripheral sounds circle the groove adding a contemporary twist. Staying true to the times, the arrangement plays it straight, alternating between two distinct structures - one labelled ‘jump up’ and the other ‘spread out’!

These timely juxtapositions of mood alone mean the track will blow up on any dance floor.

“Purple” continues in a similar vein, with a phat, warping bass line underpinning the blunted beats and dusty bleeps. Landstrumm rides the mix in classic old school style, cutting up the linear arrangement with sudden unexpected deviations, alternative rhythms and layered melodies that lend a hidden complexity to the relentless groove.

There’s a different energy at work here, one that flies in the face of certain overcooked, modern production techniques, finding more in common with a raw, vintage Carl Cox three deck mix tape, circa 1989.

To round things off, “Catnatized” drops the tempo for a slab of grimy, acid funk that recalls the early excursions of Sheffield’s electronic pioneers, with a hint of embryonic Amsterdam House thrown in for good measure. Once again the bass line grabs the headlines, rasping and morphing in its own peculiar language while twisted vocals tease the dance floor with the logic of the absurd.

It’s another refreshingly unique statement from Neil Landstrumm, rounding off a ‘must have’ EP that fits perfectly with the Cocoon ethos of championing the presence of the past.

The Hateful Eight for dancefloor aficionados comes to you from France. Label Exarde is ready to hit with some bangers in ya chest - as always - with this fresh fourtracker from Lille's producer Aymeric.

Young musician from Northen France is a serious man and does not mess about. He has his own strictly vinyl imprint “These Tasty Records” with three releases already in his roaster. He was also spotted on five different vinyl releases but this time it is going be his first solo EP. Sitting in the lockdown Aymeric was inspired with proven classics from 1990-2000's and the roaring spirit of the dance crowd. Get ready for some rudest grooves for the peak time.

Lucky number seven in the Moscow-based label catalogue Exarde is coming to you from Otis. This guy has continued his string of heavy dancefloor-oriented releases and just finished this busy year with a third vinyl release in a row.


Let’s face it - sometimes you just need to party like it's never gonna end. Just drop this on your trusty decks and wait until some of your neighbours show up with a few cocktails or something even nicer. This stunning vinyl is definitely going to be a heavy pounder workhorse. So, you better call one of those DJs or somebody will do it before you.

Welcoming the highly anticipated record label from the Reculture team following 2 years of successful London events. Reculture founder Hardt Antoine sets the tone with a 3 track instrumental EP.
The record holds 3 separate grooves and colours linked together by their analogue sound palate and grooving flow.

"The One" was written as Antoine's personal 'handover' track . It begins heavy groove with a powerful backbeat and electronic synths. Following the breakdown the sounds evolve into heavier patterns creating a special moment to let the dancefloor know - they are here to experience something memorable.

Ambre Noir is a sophisticated record with a breakbeat groove, evolving melodic touch. The name is inspired by the dark yet warming colours of the track. Redux's dark, modulated baseline hold in the listener while the progressive trip above takes them to another unique environment - a powerful weapon for a longer DJ set.

This time from the elusive “Mr Suspicious”
4 unique bits of techno remastered and slowed down for the dance floors of 2020.

Opening with “Surface Tension” a hypnotic echoing melody and bouncy kick drums complemented perfectly by the ride cymbal make it ideal for tension building.

On the A2 “Bounce da gruv” bubbling percussion, vocals layered up with rolling synth riff and swinging hats make this a peak time banger.

Turn over to the B for “Back in the pan” a different take on an older track released in the mid 90’s more on a breaky tip and layered with a glittering acid bass line.

Then inspired by a Crystal the B2 “Tourmaline” features rolling closed hats and bleepy percussion on a progressive melodic techno track.

Sasha introduces LUZoSCURA, a new compilation that hasevolved from the thriving eponymous playlist. Featuring adiverse package of original works from a host of fresh talent, aswell as established artists and Sasha himself, it traverse selectronica, ambient, breaks and techno. Meaning light and dark, LUZoSCURA began on Spotify as a stash of tracks sent to Sasha which didn't meet the pace of his clubsets nor suit his venerated label LNOE, LUZoSCURA came into itsown through 2020 as Sasha gravitated toward more mellowed sounds while being off the road, and clubbers diverted their ears to home listening. Gaining a renewed source of energy inconnecting with more gifted, budding producers and seeing the project blossom, the idea for the compilation came off the back of doing a live stream solely featuring tracks from the playlist. Meticulously compiled to flow like a DJ mix for home listening, Sasha kicks it off with the buoyant, breaks-influenced 'Corner Shop', the first of his three tracks on the compilation. MJ Cole is among the established artists to feature with blissed out track 'Maestro', while The Micronaut, a multi-instrumentalist whose back catalogue was a favourite of Sasha's through lockdown, offers an immersive trip in 'Koelsa'. Lau.ra, lead singer from British experimental rock band Ultraísta, evokes a sense of spiritedness in 'I'll Wait' before we hear again from Sasha with another breaks-loaded trip in 'HNDI' and a collaboration withB ritish producer Franky Wah. Closing the odyssey with a stirring, expansive soundscape is synth duo Felsmann + Tiley.

Madezh is one of the undisclosed heroes for the underground scene in Croatia.

After 20 years behind the decks, he is opening his own label “Travel Light” to showcase his own sound that is constantly evolving.

The first release is coming with four playful tracks, each one has it’s own character and vibe for different situations on the dancefloor.

The Abstract Eye is back once again with his first offering on the Technoindigenous Studies label, and it’s a heavy one! Here he gives us another mega banger with his Nine Oh Nine EP. This record uses one of the most historically important drum machines throughout its entirety: the Roland TR-909. The classic drum machine used by his predecessors in electronic dance music also happens to have been released during the year of his birth. You almost surely know the sound of the TR-909 in other contexts, but, as he always does, he adds his atypical twist to it and uses it in a timeless context. Each of the record’s four pieces could have been released decades ago or far into the future. Another Gifted & Blessed production sure to please and set the dancefloor ablaze!

DJ Haus Enters The Unknown is a yearly compilation looking back at the last 12 months of UTTU releases - some obvious highlights but emphasis on overlooked b sides too. It's also an opportunity to work with friends outside of the UTTU label by including exclusive collaborations and tracks from the UTTU extended family. Ahead of the full compilation release UTTU present a triple vinyl edition of the exclusive tracks and collaborations featuring: Legowelt, DJ Deeon, DJ Seinfeld, DJ Normal 4, Marquis Hawkes, DJ Boring & many more.

ES-Q Brings us another 4 tracks of other worldly, synthed out, drum machine club cuts with his latest outing on his own label PARALLAX UNKNOWN. Giving us all the bleeps and weighty basslines we come to expect from the label, direct from its Sheffield roots. Fellow sheffield-er and Klasse records regular DJ STEVE is part of the crew with a stomping acid remix!

Ciel - "when I played it for my mom, she said it made her feel like she was flying in the night sky to the moon."

Duper, the new release from Morgan Geist, is a not-so-subtle callback to his 2001 EP, Super. "I was working most days with Kelley Polar on our new vocal project, Au Suisse, which isn't really dance music at all," he explains. "I started fooling around with these instrumental tracks at night for fun. Each track was in a different style, but they seemed to work nicely as a group. By the time I asked Kelley to contribute strings to the A-side, the record really started feeling like the sequel to Super."

Super Duper ­- get it?

Indeed, the playful synth riffs and sweeping disco strings of "Twilight Express" echo the palette of Geist's cult classic "24K" and early Metro Area. "Black Test Car" is a unique collision of minimal, almost Krautrock-style drums, sound library textures and spacy electro percussion. Meanwhile, "Feeling Is Mutual" is a rare acid outing that pushes beyond the usual comfort zone, the 303 acting more as feather than hammer on top of major-key modulations. "I love a lot of Aphex Twin and I love sweet, "quiet storm"-style R&B," says Geist. "I figured, why not?"

BOO MOONMAN returns with more underground heat, featuring 4 new tracks from label head BOO WILLIAMS. "WHIP LASH" does exactly what it says on the tin. A little bit harder than BOO's last outing, this limited hand-stamped 12" is sure to leave the jackers with a sore neck in the morning.

For its third installment, Luminære is proud to introduce one of its own. Long time friend of label’s boss Daïf, frenchman Laurent is in charge for this release, delivering his debut EP “What goes on inside”.


Residing in Tokyo, Laurent is a familiar face in the city’s underground techno scene where he seeks inspiration among the many talented DJs and producers the city hosts. LUMI03 is an introduction to his musical sensitivity, shaping his many influences into something personal.


The EP starts with Target Locked, an energizing 4/4 banger filled with stabbing arpeggiators merging into a powerful rumble. A2 follows with Synapses Overload which develops a dark, eerie atmosphere punctuated by high pitched synth to create a mesmerizing track


B side starts off with One More, probably the most dancefloor oriented track of the four, with robotic synths building up an engaging melody over a warm bass line. Finally, B2 features the more minimalist Won’t you listen. Its groovy drums and powerful bass combined with anxious pads and synths create an intoxicating melody.

Reuniting on record for the first time since 2015, The Rhythm Odyssey & Dr. Dunks arrive on Phantasy with a double-barrel delivery of legitimate weirdo disco, ‘El Cid’. Comprising of Chicken Lips’ own Dean Meredith and crate-digging DJ extraordinaire, Eric Duncan, both tracks come complete with additional playing from

Andy Meecham, AKA, The Emperor Machine. Initially rolling like an eighties-era cop show theme, ‘El Cid’ gradually prises open a wormhole of rubbery machine funk, unleashing an electromagnetic weapon that seemingly triggers each and every drum machine and synth in the duo's respective studios. The resulting jam, comprising patches of wonky key work, frenetic
percussion and an anything-goes approach to FX, is a nail-biting, hip-shaking showdown between collaborative chaos and dancefloor (dis)order.

In response, the hide of ‘Fast Leather Jacket’ arrives stitched with a parallel patchwork of sonic pleasures. Cosmic and tropical in even measure, this is hard-wearing club apparel tailored with a deliciously catchy melody and guaranteed protection from musical tedium, subtly shapeshifting from is-it-balearic charms to a delightfully mixable freestyle conclusion.

Colin Chiddle’s Art of Dark releases its 12th EP. British producer Bufobufo gives his 1st release to the label.

The Mothership has come! It has arrived in the form of the strictly limited collection box “Music Is The Healing Force Of The Universe”, containing all singles released on the label between 2019 and 2021. The Höga Nord – galaxy resounds of all good between strict electro and loose jams, fluffy krautrock and moist world music to underwater techno and space funk. Although, what it is that defines the Höga Nord sound is not genres, instead it is, to cite Mathias Nilsson, founder of and boss for the label, music “strongly connected to fantasy, to the creative world.” Creativity over profit!

The collection is an overview on Gothenburg’s underground music and on an international scene that breathes similar air as the local Swedish acts that Höga Nord Rekords has chosen to highlight. The kinship between Jesse’s 80’s varnish sports car-electro and Purple Desert Rain God’s more traditional mountain sound can appear distant but the artists come together in their free spirited approach to their own productions – what all acts on this collection has in common is that they move toward something new, something beyond the genre they are in.

“Music Is The Healing Force Of The Universe ” mark the closer for Höga Nords first run. The 2010s are over and the 2020s lies open for further investigation of the cream of the Swedish and international of underground scenes!

RAWAX proudly welcomes Mr. Lamont Norwood aka Dj Di'jital to the family! A true pioneer from Detroit!

Truly an old school Techno Bass jewel, DJ Di'jital has been a key player in the development of what some call the "Second Generation" of Detroit Techno. Having released on classic Detroit labels like Metroplex, Direct Beat, and Twilight 76, there is plenty of good reason why his name and his work have become so legendary over the years.

Influenced by early groups like Kraftwerk and Parliament, it was no surprise that the 80's fusion of Electronic Music, Funk and Hip Hop that brought about the Electro Funk sounds, would have such an impact on him. As a kid, Lamont Norwood aka DJ Di'jital became acquainted with the idea of mixing two songs together using tape decks, which while being limited, still gave him the drive and passion to pursue a career as a professional DJ. Over the years he played many different house parties and underground clubs, even spending some time as a Cabaret DJ.

Throughout this time, Di'jital became an incredibly skilled turntablist, quickly gaining the reputation of being a formidable force behind the wheels of steel. The year 1996 would prove to be quite a momentous one for Norwood, not only signing to the already well established label Direct Beat, but also becoming the official DJ for one of the label's finest and most important artists, Aux 88. Having already released his first EP, "Prototype", on Direct Beat, this would become a great opportunity that would help seal him as an icon of what was now known as the Detroit Techno Bass scene. Over the next few years,

Di'jital continued recording for Direct Beat, releasing some of the greatest and most unique Techno Bass classics to date, even doing a few remixes for some of Aux 88's most well known releases like "Electro/Techno", "I Need To Freak", and "Break It Down". Hit EPs like "From The Mind Of The Master", and "360 Degrees" became instant classics, still very sought after to this day. He also had some of his songs appear on some of the various Direct Beat compilations that were released between the years 1996 and 1999 like "Xperience De Bass II", which released "Radar2Bass", one of his most notable works, as well as the all time collector's album, "Techno Bass: The Mission".
Perhaps what may have been one of the biggest signs that his career was becoming exactly what he had hoped for, was the opportunity presented to him to remix Aaron Carl's classic "Down", which was released on the iconic Metroplex Records in 1998; Something that to any Detroit native would have been an honor and a milestone, given the reputation and level of success and influence that Juan Atkin's imprint had on the Detroit Electronic Music scene, as well as the global Electro/Techno movement.

Between the years 2000 and 2002, there was a small hiatus in complete EPs or albums being released by DJ Di'jital, although there were 2 different tracks released on the labels Bipolar and Studio iK7. In 2002, he went on to sign to another of Detroit's legendary imprints, Twilight 76, where he released 2 EPs, "Bass Programmers", and Di'jital's Revenge". In 2005, already a veteran and having amassed the necessary skill and knowledge needed to be a true beat warrior, Di'jital was now ready to join the resistance...Underground Resistance that is! Featured on the Interstellar Fugitives Vol. 2 compilation ( also later released as a 2xCD/DVD set ), Di'jital also released on the Electrocuter EP, which featured the previously released "Bang", as well as "Track 19".

In 2006, already well into the digital age ( no pun intended ), Norwood would release his first set of downloadable works, starting with an album called "The Prototype", on Twilight 76, which was completely unrelated to his first EP which was also called "Prototype". Recently, Twilight 76 has also released what is so far a 2 volume set of battle cuts dubbed "Electro Battle Tools".

The only known material that is known to be in the future for DJ Di'jital at the moment is a remix of Morphogenetic's "Techno Bass Is Back!", which was originally released as a free download to members of Technobass, but will soon be released on a 12"/Digital release that will launch the site's own label "Techno Bass Music". There will also be a follow EP by Di'jital, so stay tuned! Over the years, DJ Di'jital has proven to be an unstoppable force in the Techno Bass scene, tirelessly working to push the boundaries of Electro forward with his futuristic and visionary beats that have unleashed mayhem across the globe, not just in his published works, but also in his incredible DJ acts, where one can truly witness one of the few actual turntablists in this style of music. Expect more in the future as Di'jital's revenge continues to spread across the globe with his out of the ordinary approach towards Techno Bass music.

Signature is a project containing 6 tracks marking Lehar and Musumeci sound on their label Multinotes. Lehar presents three tracks staying faithful to his musical aesthetics made up of dreamlike melodies and narrative arrangements. Musumeci goes back to his roots by releasing three old school oriented tracks interlacing acid basslines and 808/909 drum patterns with rough pianos and emotional synths.

Leon’s Futura imprint returns with is 4th outing and the burgeoning label delivers another edgy underground EP this time courtesy of Roof Club, Italy resident LUCIO.

LUCIO has been providing the Banda Sonora at Roof Club in Isernia, Italy as its highly regarded resident for the last 4 years, and has released on YAY recordings whilst also founding Roof Club Record label back in 2019. LUCIO joins FUTURA and delivers a slick 2 track EP which also comes complete with two remixes, one from Mark Ambrose and MADVILLA.

The first track on the release is Panic Zone. Eerie synths lead the way and combine well with the well executed 909 beats and classy old school synths give this a distinct flavour which is perfect for heads.
The second track on the release is Mystic Area. From the very first second this sounds like it comes straight from the 90’s and something you’d hear back in the day at the Warehouse in Chicago. The smooth old school synth chords combine with well worked vocal samples and electronic bassline and 909 beats deliver a sure fire underground winner.

Next up are the remixes and the first remix comes from Mark Ambrose. The Crayon label boss and owner has been producing forward thinking and abstract Tech House for 20 years, releasing not only on his own imprint but also on prestigious labels such as Bass Culture, Vessel, Subwax, and Wiggle. For this remix of Panic Zone, he takes the track on a dark raw techno trip with heavy outboard processing and dark coloured synths and delicately delayed beats and percussion, making this an essential late night excursion.

Last yet not least, MADVILLA, fresh from high flying releases on Locus, No Art, Ball Park and Seven Dials, MADVILLA is riding the crest of the proverbial wave with his productions right now, and turns in a grooving minimal deep remix, using some delay and decayed production techniques on the vocals he creates an sublime cut to finish off this release to perfection.

Repress!

The new era of Nu Groove continues to release exquisite house music with its latest package from Acid Jerks, maintaining the gold-standard level of production exhibited in its earliest releases. An anonymous project from two of Berlin’s hottest selectors, this four-track EP demonstrates a breadth and depth of house knowledge, as Acid Jerks take the listener on a cosmic trip. The deep grooves of ‘Chocolate Factory’ kick off the package, followed by the more melodic and emotive ‘Remote Area’ with lush strings and keys. ‘Square One’ has a raw, synth-heavy sound that verges on the ominous, before the tough low end and analogue muscle of ‘The Tribute’ gives added grit to the package.

Introducing sub-label, White Scar! A new project by the crew behind parent label Subterranean Odyssey...

White Scar was founded to give the label a different outlet to more release music from their favourite producers more readily while keeping the concept of Subterranean Odyssey the same. Each release on the sub-label will be 4 tracks from 4 different artists which will be hand-picked mainly from up-coming and previous producers on the parent label. Therefore, you can expect more of the same club ready sound that has been showcased in the first two Subterranean Odyssey EPs as well as a few curveballs thrown in along the way.

The name/idea is based on the largest cave system in the UK and each release will be named after a feature of the cave. They will also be distributed in a white sleeve with the artwork from Madame Fourmilion displayed on the centre sticker. White Scar can be found in Yorkshire where SO was formed.

For WS001 - “The First Waterfall” the label invited producers from different parts of the world. The A side is a Uruguayan affair with Braik's “Dangerous Area” and Pi's “Space Dystopia”. No doubt you'll be hearing more from both of these artists as the label progresses! On the B1, from Casablanca, Morocco is Chaou B's “Lost Data” a breakbeat banger sure to get your feet moving. Last but not least on the B2 is Biokid from Slovenia with “Undata”, a unique track with a dreamy melody to close out the EP perfectly.

Canadian producer Hrdvsion makes his debut on Posthuman's I Love Acid imprint, with 4 tracks of wonky & off-kilter acid for playing loud and dancing to.
