This is a great selection of tunes that can be used all over the place. Goodfoot is something I would listen to all the time and would sound great on a beach. Superstition is a teaser and a very useful tool to always have. Out of the 2 more dancey ones I like Hunt Uptown but would play both. Nice EP.. x

From smashing piano's on 3AM Piano Thing to bouncing harmonizers on Hezbolla, FIO's simple and subtle approach to song writing is his best asset and the reason we love his music. Relocating with better half in tow to Europe from Melbourne this year, the time was right for Griffin to sit down and tell his story. A New Way of Living is the result, an album that plucks at the heart strings. A New Way of Living brings together a presentation of early influences molded into a single long player platform. As you listen to the album you can hear influences of sample lead heavyweights such as Dilla and Andres and get the feeling that it wouldn't be out of place as a soundtrack to a Nicolas Winding Refn motion picture. Steve Bug, one of the world's most renowned artists in the electronic music circuit, presents his fifth and most mature longplayer. 'Noir' doesn't deny its roots, but expands the usual spectrum and invites the listener to an exciting listening pleasure. The title is 'Noir'. The cover is dominated by the filmic aesthetics of light and shadow. The title evokes a world of shady transactions and secret crimes. Most of the tracks emit a suitably dark and moody atmosphere, with at least three directly referencing the film noir genre - From the well-known classic 'The Spiral Staircase', to more obscure 'Somewhere in the Night', and 'The Seventh Victim'. Is 'Noir' a concept album Originally it was planned that way, but in the end Steve found the concept too rigid. 'I play all over the world on a constant basis, and always come back with different impressions", says Steve Bug. 'Accordingly, this changes the music that I produce. I've had the idea to make a concept album for some time, but on the other hand, that's not the way I work. My music expresses my moods, and of course, they are always changing. ' The material for the new album was created over a period of three years, which makes its consistency and coherence all the more amazing. The mood is dark, spooked. Over the relentless beats and basslines ghostly sounds swirl and conspire. Although all the pieces are driven by head-rushing beats, 'Noir' is more than ever, a listening album. A mesmerizing dark techno statement from this Hamburgian Art School child prodigy. Curated with care by the label's dedicated A&R movement to maximize revenue in the contemporary musical playing field. On a more serious note; Hamburg based producer Yr is next up on Dutch powerhouse Creme Organization with a four track EP that continues in his muddy and muddled techno tradition. Yr has won himself many fans with but a few releases on labels like Purple Maze and shtum and as such deserves this step-up to Creme. Taking up the whole of the a-side, opener 'Lack Of Being' is a swampy brew of slowly churning, buried deep drums, droning synths and crackling static that conveys a real sense of loneliness and pain. B1 cut 'Unbennant' is a more propulsive cut with driven kick drums racing along beneath spangled and sinewy synth lines. Train track like percussive embellishes the sense of groove and then 'Torn' continues to canter along, with juddering drums sounding like they might collapse at any minute. Again it feels like you are on some broken old train racing to somewhere ominous. Last track 'Apophis' is a little cleaner and more crisp, with icy hi hats, late night howling synth patterns and nimble, elastic basslines. This is darkly atmospheric music that is as uneasy to listen to as it is wholly captivating.

I was in search of a lighter outside of the Salon Zur Wilden Renate, a bar in Berlin. It was quite late (or early, depending on how you look at it). I had been living in Germany for less than a week. I approached a man that had been moving some equipment nearby. He didn't smoke, he explained, but he produced a book of matches- almost out of thin air. He had excited, Romanesque features that threatened to overwhelm his face as he spoke. He introduced himself as Martin.I moved to Berlin after quitting my job as a journalist covering culture for an inconsequential (albeit progressive) Middle Eastern magazine. Days after I left the region, the first protests began in Tunisia. I visited Renate that week because Nicolas Jaar recommended it when we met in London around Christmas time. When I mentioned that I might move to Germany, he brought up Acid Pauli- which is how I first found out about his Johnny Cash interpretation, 'I See a Darkness,' and some of his other projects with The Notwist. A few nights later, I returned to Renate, observing from afar as Acid gently wrangled the dance floor. His set activated a space that was both free flowing and eclectic- the opposite of what I had expected (however ignorantly) to find in Berlin.I tracked Acid down after he finished playing and introduced myself properly this time. Eventually, he explained that he had just completed an album for Clown & Sunset. He called it Mst. After pleading with him to let me listen, he handed over a miniature mirror that doubled as a USB drive.It was an appropriate medium for an album that acts reflexively. Each of the nine tracks coaxes your attention, and then plays with it like the hall of mirrors in a funhouse. Songs accelerate or breakdown without warning, before leaping right back into the rhythm

After releasing solo & duo projects throughout 2013 on Local Talk, Deep Shades of House, Miseredits and also a feature on Lay-Far's album 'So Many Ways', Peter will begin 2014 releasing his debut LP on shared label Fifty Fathoms Deep in which he runs with Craig Smith (6th Borough Project).

For someone so relatively new to the game this debut is all the more remarkable given the maturity of sound and quality of production. There's a real narrative to this collection of music that draws the listener in from the very first note, to the very last. This isn't just a random collection of dance tracks or some singles with fillers; this is music with substance that transcends genres. No gimmicks just real lasting quality.

This is a huge release sampling a The Doors classic coming from the Erfurt based Cosmopolar Crew. Rounded up with hot remixes from Beatamines (Trapez, My Best Friend, Damm Records) and Fabian Reichelt (Upon You, Freude am Tanzen) who is debuting with his first own production after the successfull vocal collaborations with Marek Hemmann.

After a well deserved winter pause, Darek is back with a new vinyl edition, perfect for the start of the mild and sweet sunny days! This time, the Swiss/Argentinean label offers something smooth and fresh. Sakro who is a young producer from Mexico, delighted us with these deep house gems. For the vinyl, he produced two original tracks; one of them is featuring Asylum. For the special digital edition, he offered us two more productions of his own. We're also very lucky to have Sierra Sam, Marcus Vector as well as The Midnight Perverts featuring Gionny on board, for the remixes! But now, let's talk about the music.....

Irjsband & Gert had always wanted to create balkan inspired music, and hence came the duo Stavroz. Beyond just sharing the same musical tastes, these two buddies bond over both being sound engineers (live for Ijs, studio for Gert), which makes them real 'goldsmiths' behind each and every production.
Their music is imprinted with original inspirations while keeping to a jazzy/burlesque influence, leaving little to be left displeased. The bridge, so it seems, borderlines between minimal and jazz-house.

For The Ginning EP:

'The Ginning EP' is the first release of Stavroz on Délicieuse Records. The Original track constructed around a beautiful guitar benefits from a sweet minimal beat. It will definitely make your head nodding and helps defining stavroz sound-signature. On the menu are remixes by Felkon and Britta Arnorld.


For the Finishing EP:


"The Finishing EP" features the magnificent original track with its 8 minutes saxophone solo. Recorded first shot by Nathan Daems, the saxo responds to a real sweet "Stavroz" minimal beat. Viken Arman is adding his "touch" to the track and rebuilds the whole beat in his remix. As for Powel, he makes the track really "atmospheric" bringing a bit of an acid touch to it

"La French and German Connection - EP" (Ton liebt Klang)
Aus einem Musikgeschmack entstand ein Kontakt, aus einer Verbindung wurde eine Kollaboration und aus einer Zusammenarbeit wurde eine gemeinsame EP.
"incontrol" aus Lyon und "Wolfgang Lohr" aus Berlin produzierten zunächst nur virtuell, über Dropbox, zusammen und schoben sich gegenseitig die Bälle zu. Dann wurden die Ideen im Studio ausgearbeit und finalisiert. Das Ergebnis ist ein Electro Swing Track "Le Swing Ist King", der mit seiner eingebauten Tanzgarantie nach vorne peitscht und einen satten Ohrwurm hinterlässt.
Der zweite gemeinsame Track "Holy Blues" siedelt sich im noch recht frischen Electro Blues Genre an. Hier treffen bluesige Vocals auf Mundharmonika, Gitarre und eine satte Glide-Bassline.

Abgerundet wird die EP durch starke Remixe in eigener Interpretation, von "Shemian" (Deutschland), der als einer der Electro Swing Pioniere gilt, und 2011 sogar für einen der besten Electro Swing Artist nominiert wurde. Und "Grant Lazlo" (Marseille) der in Frankreich und auch international zu einer echten Größe mutiert ist! Die EP wird sowohl auf Vinyl, als auch digital im Juni 2013 bei dem Hamburger Label "Ton liebt Klang" released werden. Eine starke Symbiose, mit viel Groove und Melodie für den Club....c'est la vie!

This Various E.P start with a cosmic transmission mixed with funky beats and keys by German vinyl junky Jupiter Tuning Center. Second track by label owner Petr Serkin is many filtered chords and guitars, keep the same vibes. On the B side, Russian musician Buzz Compass, already signed releases on Glenview and No More Hits, he delivered here a deep groovy thing with beautiful voice parts. And the final one is a very melodic tune by Four Walls from Belarus, who already was released on Kolour LTD and Traxx Underground. Just 250 copies, vinyl-only.
