The record to soundtrack the BBQ, to gently raise the energy on a hazy evening, to baffle the midnight marauders into dancefloor destruction, to give the early morning ravers that extra kick. WotNot have spent the last two years on a mission to prove that intelligent music can be footloose and fun. This release marks a milestone in this mission, with possibly the most complex bass line to ever stick in your head, from a man whose every DJ set serves as an education as much as a liberation. A man with a hunger for new records that has seen him included as a featured Bandcamp fan alongside the likes of Gilles Peterson.

K15 is known to many musical worlds; a go-to on the UK soul/jazz circuit, with production on Belle's Lapwing EP, and DJ sets supporting the likes of Bilal and Marsha Ambrosius; a figure on the beat scene with his hypnotic instrumental tapes; and spinner of infectious dancefloor oddities old and new across London. This EP presents yet another facet, the soulful, jazz-inflected house that has had man-of-the moment Kyle Hall all ashiver.

Bordeaux has all the sophistication the name implies, a delicious bubbling bass line with subtle notes of garage and building layers of improvisation providing an earthy jazz undertone. Broken beat legend Kaidi Tatham builds on the chord progression in his soul-laden rework, with light-footed percussion adding brightness to his famously refined palette. House rising stars Glenn Astro & IMYRMIND add body to the original in their rejig, fierce swinging house with sermon-like vocal cuts raising the potency to a powerful climax.
B side Hall Of Memories brings its own bubble; simmering, expectant synth textures rising and falling over an evolving bass hook. A perfect summer set opener or closer.

This EP represents the all-encompassing but distinctive flavours that K15 has made his reputation as a DJ on. And how exciting to see him take the first step in another of many directions, with great leaps certain to come.

Summer 2016 and its time for the seventh annual trip to the beach with your favorite Nangster crew. This time sailing the ship is San Francisco resident and all round top producer chap Aimes. He has spun a web of summer disco beach tunes to get the sundown grooves deep, long and funky.

First up "Spyboy" from the Korvids. They get the groove going with funky brass, jazzy Rhodes and Isley brothers style summer breeze fuzz guitar. Mysterious Englanders 1Blip2 are next up with our man Aimes debuting his shimmering nu disco rework of their brooding "Onka" track. It can be summer in Siberia too you know!... and just to prove it Kim And Buran serve up the sun-drenched synth funk of Running On The Waves. Things get lurrrvely with Sare Havlicek and the Barry White throated OD Hunte and their rolling beach synth-funk before JMRS and Ride Front Man Andy Bell mix the 90s indy rock with a Balearic groove.

Aimes delivers a second premiere with his stomping "Olas Altas" before we head off for a spot of dreamy 80s inspired melodic synth with "Stargazing" from Moon Mood. Dagfest "I Got The Feeling" samples a little known 70s funk gem from James Walsh. Italian remix meister DJ Rocca turns up the dance floor groove with his slick re-rub. We then head off to South American with Future Feelings and their superb floor led "Find Out" (Irregular Disco Workers on a first class remix). Madrid based Rayko is next with his electronic disco dance funk Why

Next, we mix things up with UK based Situation featuring Andre Espeut "Stay With Me" getting a smooth floaty dance rework from Russian based 5 Reasons. It is then off to the Canary islands for Nang favorite Ilya Santana to debut one killer new track from his future LP. "Hammerhead" is big grooves, big guitars and big funk with Italian wonder worker Tobor on the remix. Bestinspace "Freedom Ltd" gets the Pete Herbert treatment next with it space funk groove.

It is off to Italy for Disco legend Beppe Loda next with his Egotrya project and his sweeping 80s analog synth pads in his "Volcano" epic. Folano "Begin" is next with Sportloto smooth pads and melodic chords working over a solid disco groove. Sheffield residents Hiem return with their zany "Lions Cheetahs Enforcers" with Siberian groovers Kim and Buran on the remix case once more. We close up with a slice of lazy guitar-drive yacht groove from San Francisco based Sorcerer and his shimmering "Video Magic".

The best of summer nu disco groove distilled down to one mix. Nang out friends.

A singer and songwriter now based in London, Astral T may be best known in recent years for her vocal work on house labels like Hudd Traxx and Smoke City Music. Next up is her own imprint. According to the artist herself, "There have been many suitors along the way and I'm still looking for the one and while I'm still looking there will be many more affairs to come." To that end, the first Astral Love Affair single, "Divided Attention," will be a collaboration with fellow UK artist Moodymanc, backed by a remix from Berlin producer Alex Agore.

SWING REPUBLIC began life as the side project of a platinum selling Danish songwriter and producer, Per Ebdrup. In love with the sound of swing, Per remixed old and obscure vintage gems in his spare time. Following the success of the 2010 album 'Electro Swing Republic' Freshly Squeezed Music, (debonairs of all things swing) and Swing Republic are both proud to present the album Midnight Calling.

first gig, inspired a multitude of collaborations and reshaped the sound of house music as we know it.

The Remixes !

There's plenty of fresh faces in dance music and there's plenty of legends, but how often do you come across a legendary fresh face Christian Taylor aka DJ Kon is about as FRESH as it gets and yet has been doing it since before most of us knew how to cue a record.
Graffiti writer since '83, DJ since '85, in clubs since '91 and that was only the beginning. Kon may be an acronym for "King Of Nothing" but after taking a look at his accomplishments he seems like the King of PLENTY. He won roller disco competitions as a kid, put out hip hop 12"s for Bobbito's "Fondle Em" and Rawkus Records. In 2006 BBE Records named Kon & Amir (his former partner) "The Kings Of Diggin'" a title that solidified Kon's reputation as growing one of the worlds most priceless record collections (once our beloved Vinyl Connection closed the collection went to Kon). He's also in our humble opinions pretty much the best disco DJ (technical and programming) we've ever encountered.
We met Kon as fresh faces ourselves way before Soul Clap took off. We were still entrenched in Boston's top 40 night life and shared a residency together at a club called Aria (then many others). Kon took us under his wing and set our minds free empowering us with knowledge of disco, boogie, funk and the old school. Since our lives on the road have taken us far and wide, Kon has transported us back home with his impossibly dope edits and reworks. As his bio states, Kon has positioned himself at the forefront of a group of multi­track collectors who posses digital versions of the original recording sessions of some of pop music's greatest artists. This resource along with Kon's vast knowledge of music has resulted in his creation of some of the most dance floor friendly edits and remixes today, PERIOD.
This moment however, is not about edits or digging but rather about pure inspiration born out lovelorn sorrow. After a lifetime in music, the "All About Youx EP" is some of Kon's first original house music productions which showcase an emerging deep sound, a fusion of old and new, filling a very necessary gap in House music. These songs, all about love and his experience of loving somebody take the dance floor to a place of both joy and pain. Was it her charm and her passion She'll always love you forever Love you / don't love you all of these questions are posed poetically in this powerfully truthfully EP where love truly is the message.

In Kon's words: "Love is many things... a journey, a feeling, its something you do, a state of being... and when you love unconditionally, you take a risk, being completely vulnerable, willing to give without any expectations. No matter what part of the world I find myself in I realize in our quest for happiness, we all really do want the same things in life. Sometimes we get lost along the way, still we keep pushing on, searching, trying to find our way. I've learned that in the end if you hold back in fear of winning or losing... either way you may wind up with nothing."
The digital release also includes remixes from Soul Clap Records family members Nick Monaco and Night Plane who add their signature twists of deepness.

We have repressed the Henrik Schwarz remixes of The Detroit Experiment's much loved "Think Twice". Spearheaded by Carl Craig, the self-titled LP where the original stems from was released by the 15 member-large Michigan collective in 2002 on NYC's Ropeadope Records. Some seven years later via London for Juno's own label, Henrik Schwarz provided two remixes combining future jazz with deep house, while beautifully keeping in theme with the Experiment's beboppy tones. Schwarz effortlessly marries those cheeky and harmonious Myles Davis sax movements with a classic chord progression to create the smoothest of vamps on both the live and studio versions. Never stop reliving a classic.

"Waves From The Nucleus" is a mixture of Spiritual Jazz, Brazilian Fusion, Soul, Disco and Boogie, composed, played and recorded by Skymark with his electric piano and old synths. This album is highly influenced by the golden years 70s-80s and the summer breeze from the marvelous city. Limited edition.

It's an EP by Archie Pelago, a Brooklyn-based band that's played both the Mister Saturday Night and Mister Sunday parties. They're a trio of players whose lighthearted name belies the seriousness of their music. Consisting of a classically trained cellist, a classically trained saxophone player and a live programmer/DJ, they make songs that work as well on dancefloors as they do in headphones. This EP lays out their strengths perfectly: Brown Oxford swings; Alice simmers; and Frederyck Swerl pulls on the heartstrings. Handstamped by the band and the Mister guys and pressed to 150-gram vinyl with love in Brooklyn.

The Autoscooter Gang is back with a cool tech-house ep. The tracks are made for the dancefloor with great remixes by Arts & Leni and Remcord.

Parisian label Escapade launches with a four-track 12 by Yuri Shulgin. The Russian artist first appeared in 2010 under the Mistanomista moniker on the Italian label Black Sunshine. He later released three records under his real name, first on Anton Zap's Ethereal Sound, then on Black Wall and finally on Modernista. Yuri's productions mix jazzy and funky vibes with electronic elements, which inevitably calls to mind the classic Detroit house sound. They have a warm and authentic feeling to them, thanks to his bass, guitar and keys abilities. Poducers such as Vakula have relied on his instrumentalist skills, but on Polyphonic Mind it is his turn to call on other musicians. 'Nothing In The City' features his friend Yuri Smirnov on the alto saxophone and kicks off this release on a laid back groove, which becomes more energetic in the second half of the track. Trumpet player Victor Netesov a.k.a. Humsafar joins them on 'Polyphonic Mind' for a full jazzy session. On the B side, Shulgin reveals his experimental facet with two jams using synths and delays. 'Livetrackrecording (Dubby)' leans into hypnotic territory while '#1stereo (Analog Jam)' rounds up the record with dreamy explorations.

Silence In Metropolis aims to act as a hub for new artists breaking through; artists who mine a forward thinking vein of deep house, techno and the many shades in between. For their 4th release they turn to UK talent Michael McLardy for two original tracks and two remixes, one from P Lopez and one from Evren Ulusoy.


So far Mclardy has appeared on labels like Alive, Save You and Deso with a cultured house sound, and first track here 'Summer Crunch' follows in that good stead. It's a slow and low slung groove detailed with deft little jazz chords, bird sounds and plenty of loose limbed percussion. The effortless melodies suggest McLardy has classical piano training under his belt and the vibe overall is one of pure late summer, early evening bliss. The remix comes from Turkish Beatport Chart topper and Moodmusic associate Evren Ulusoy. He redesigns the track for more energetic moments on the dancefloor. His kicks are a bit more upright and propulsive and the pads are that bit more rigid, bringing with them a nice bit of organic and musical funk.



McLardy's other original 'Motorcycles' again shows the man's ability to craft low-slung and louche grooves with plenty of human roughness and genuine warmth. This one features a dumpy kick drum underneath and a melange of percussive clicks and ticks up top. It's sensuous and slow burning house music that you can really feel in your bones. Dogmatik and Tirk producer P. Lopez from Paraguay goes in on the remix this time. Having had support from the likes of Groove Armada and Maya Jane Coles in the past it's no surprise his version is a deep and groovy interpretation with clever use of filters to build tension and a fine driving bassline propping the whole thing up.


Staying true to their mission, with this EP SIM have introduced us to some fine new talents and easily lovable new house sounds.

Electro-Blues is the latest new musical adventure from Freshly Squeezed - the label behind the WHITE MINK global events and CDs and the key player in the Electro Swing scene generally. Electro-Blues may be a twist on an old formula, but it's no less powerful for that.
This 12' sampler is a tantalising hint of what to expect on the forthcoming Electro-Blues double CD compilation to be released on the 28th of January 2013. It's a strong opener for a new genre that - amazingly - has not been properly attempted before. Once again Freshly Squeezed is at the leading of edge of contemporary but vintage-inspired sounds.
This 12' covers Funk, Ska and House all in an Electro Blues style. It's the first time on vinyl for Monetrik and New York's Cabbie Hat Records label boss 4Peace with an exclusive debut for Ecklectic Mick (Boogie Children).
