Now, these tracks do one thing: they are meant for the club and in the club they should stay. A somewhat sweaty enviroment, like 150 people and a good analog soundsystem... something along those lines. The aim is at a real track-y, immediate vibe - without diving too deep to the autistic side of disco edits. Just trying to master the ancient art of elevating a piece of music by cutting and pasting.

Roy Davis, Jr.'s Undaground Therapy Muzik label relaunches after almost 20 years with Al Zanders' Guidance EP. Al Zanders approach to his first EP of 2018 is as precise as it is whimsical. Featuring 4 tracks showing Zanders sheer versatile when it comes to making music. Opened by piano-percussion track Martha's Revenge which is made so clearly for dance floors, followed by Television, a chance for a closed- eyes boogie be it on a dance floor in the middle of a set, or on the sofa at home. On the b-side, Likes For Cash's comedic title is met in contrast with a piercing synth top-line and stripped back drums, with just enough of a bassline to sit in-between the drums and synths. Closing the EP is Guidance, a reflective and a chance for the EP to close as well as it would close a dance floor when the lights come on at the end of the night.

Launched in 1996 by Roy Davis Jr. & Odell Braziel, Undaground Therapy Muzik born out of Chicago was a label that went on to help shape artists such as Seth Troxler & Daft Punk amongst many other acclaimed DJs & Producers during their early years and released some of Paul Johnson & Eddie Fowlkes earliest releases. The label championed young and new talent from around the world within House & Disco music and remains home to some of Roy Davis Jr.'s most well known records today. Now relaunching in 2018, the label still headed by Roy and now partnered with AD Music Group in London, the label will continue with the same ethos, to support new and emerging talent within House, Disco & Techno, and continue to release on vinyl, unapologetically focusing on the quality of sound production of which was so key to the labels success in the 90's.

runs in his native Lausanne, LillyGood has gradually evolved into a radio show and even a label, now on its 4th release. Horatio Luna is a Melbourne Bassist. composer, producer and founder of soul outfit 30/70 (Rhythm Section Intl). The left-leaning jazz musician known for his boldly experimental compostitions moves towards a soulful-house sound on 'Cultural Warriors'. Seeking for a different twist to original tracks, there are not many producers who have not tapped on Deetron's talents as a masterful remixer. Putting his deft touch on tracks from artists as varied as Ennio Morricone and Todd Terje to Jamiroquai, Deetron's remixes have become standalone hits in their own right.
With more than 200 remixes to his name since his first remix was released in 2000, Deetron takes stock and cherry-picks from his vast discography to present Re-creation (Remixes Compiled) for Character 007. A collector's collection from past to present, the compilation stretches across his body of work from 2003 to 2017 and features some of Deetron's very best.

As a special bonus, the compilation also includes more than a handful of exclusive new versions, edits and instrumentals that Deetron has been using as secret weapons in his DJ sets. These are now released for the first time for all to enjoy.

Kian T, a self-confessed analogue synth addict, steps up for the 6th Secret Reels release and with an EP on Big Bait already under his belt and one forthcoming on Toy Tonics, 2016 is looking like a vintage year for this Italian producer.
This EP is all about tough beats, warm & punchy synth lines and a few dusty vinyl samples thrown in for good measure.
Kian's production values are always on point, and these 3 tracks are no exception, instantly standing out from the crowd.
On remix duties is man of the moment Daniel Leseman. His solo productions and remixes are firm favourites with a vast swathe of top DJ's. He is also one half of Fouk, alongside Junktion, who have absolutely taken over recently with releases on Heist, Razor-N-Tape, House Of Disco and not to mention their own label Outplay. Daniel turns the tough syncopated beats of Flughafen into a shimmering, funk-laden piece of house.

Sun's out! We'll Sea Pt.3 is here on bright, yellow-marbled vinyl. This edition brings us five tracks that'll leave you behind tanned. The A Side introduces Cornchild, a new nom de guerre by an established maestro of the low notes. For this next installment Katnip has had the exquisit honour to get involved with two of the most legendary producers at this moment on NIP-02 for some of the most exceptional reworks of the B1 "Solitary maybe" groove released earlier on 'Larry de Kat - Five point after dark (NIP-01)'. Emotional Response again teams up with Meda Fury and Sad City to present an EP of remixes from the acclaimed debut album, Shapes In Formation. Enlisting a killer tag-team of DJ Nature, HOLOVR and Herron to bring their own retakes of Gary Caruth's music, arrives with justified anticipation.

The success of Sad City's debut opus was a deserved conclusion to a journey across third world ambient, found sound samples and jazz-touched beats. All are reworked and expanded here while retaining the artist's all encompassing atmospheric oeuvre.

First Milo Johnson dons his DJ Nature moniker for two mixes of Steady Jam. The stand out of the album for many, it seemed right to request Milo's skills to push the sample-based loops to a deep dance floor. Rolling congas, skipping hats and the teasing, soulful melodies come together to work their magic. Vocal and Dub are crafted and cut as one long-form take for the more adventurous, this is dub-disco for the today's real (to reel) entertainers.

Side two is given over to rising names in HOLOVR and Herron. With releases on Opal Tapes, Further and Firecracker Recordings, Jimmy Billingham 303-infused sound is perfect in reshaping Caruth's trip that is Pace, Movements I-IV. Building slowly with trademark 909 meets acid, kick eventually arrives to take the remix beyond head nodding to swinging minds and hearts.

The EP closes with a perfect dismantle and rebuild by Manchester's Herron. A man of talents, Sam Lewis is pushing his City's cultural landscape via the Soup Kitchen venue, co-running the on-point Meandyou Records, while still having time to record solo as Herron and for Hinge Finger as one half of CO/R, alongside label head Joy Orbison. The glitch beats, drone synthesis and orchestral vocal snatches of Rain fuse and percolate in the mind's eye. Sad City. Reshaped in transformations.

Latest WOLF recruit, Al Zanders steps up for a killer debut EP.

The seventh EP on Frits Wentinks Bobby Donny label brings together some known and unknown producers. The original production is by Low End Activist, someone who has spent the last 15 years in Berlin, Bristol and Brighton, no doubt picking up parts of the musical styles of those cities as he goes.

It features London Grime MC Trim, an original member of Roll Deep and an artist signed to James Blake's 1-800 label. The remixes comes from Frits himself as well as Cassius Select, who has recently released on UTTU and Herbert's Accidental.

Park End is a naughty tune with garage tinged drums slipping and sliding beneath menacing rhymes from Trim.

Paranoid synth sounds and an oscillating low end speak of late night urban mischief and it's the sort of characterful tune to stand out in any set.

Cassius Select reconfigures the tune as a much more dark and experimental number with a heavy bottom end and huge sub bass that totally envelops you.
Frits then goes for a more mellow and melodic version, with lazy drums and wilting chords as rainy keys fall from above. It glows like street lights at night and closes out an EP with real attitude.

Vincent Valler Delivers with this release a timeless classic for now and then

Four big raw disco edits ...Re-edited by some big hitters in the game, including DJ Cubism's illusive Bionic Lover Edit; a much sort after track, made famous by his Ebony Cuts Podcast, and never released until now !

Both D-Malice and Kid Fonque are well-established players in their native cities, both boasting long-term involvement and impressive credentials. After meeting in 2013 and nurturing a very natural and obvious predilection for golden era hip-hop, 90s R'n B, soul and trip hop they decided to pool their creative resources and rope in a wealth of talent from their combined networks under a new moniker. Enter rkls.

On this debut offering the pair have worked with LA's broken beat visionary Marc De Clive-Lowe, legendary emcees John Robinson and Kev Brown, dazzling new vocal and production talent from South Africa - Sio, Melo B Jones, Daev Martian and White Nite to name but a few.

This diverse list of guests flex their dexterity allowing the album to shift easily between ballads and more up-tempo beats effortlessly. Punctuated with spacey interludes, the resulting twelve tracks glisten with sumptuous textures, swelling harmonies and organic instrumentation. Familiar but fresh, rkls feels like you're meeting an old friend with enthralling new stories to tell.

Klasse co-boss Mr. Ho steps up to the plate and knocks it out of the park with a new EP of brand new and original material. Inspired by listening to various library music and funk records found whilst digging in Asia, the Hong Kong based artist lays down three tracks of boogie-disco and funk inspired House music. Animals Dancing continues its quest for world domination with a double A side of Russian intelligence from Moscow's Leonid Lipelis.

As the title would suggest, these two sides come from Lipelis' private arsenal of club tracks, beef'd up and shared with the people after some friendly persuasion.

Outplay's third vinyl release will be from young Mancunian artist Loz Goddard. With releases on Large Music and Editorial he has been making a great impression with his combination of Disco and beatdown House.A well balanced blend between samples and synth work makes this a varied EP and a great showcase for Loz's sound.Outplay's own Fouk takes care of the remix, turning the lush 'It Will Come To Me' into a solid dance floor track with added bass line groove.

'From a lost Australian electronic soul gem, to a cult classic: Shahara-Ja's 'I'm An Arabian Knight' has gained much momentum since it's 2017 reissue, so much so that the Egyptian Lover reached out to the label proclaiming he'd do a remix. The electro innovator who the original release appears to be highly inspired by seemed like a perfect fit for this sleazy late Night groover. The result is 3 fresh mixes using elements of the original session tapes and the perfect touch of the Egyptian Lover's signature 808'

Leonid Nevermind is back with a new sophisticated detroit house EP. 4 groovy soulful tracks with storytelling titles, hazy vocal elements, slapping funky basslines and bluesy piano patterns enswathing with mysterious chords and thrilling lucid melodies.

After the success of the Joe Cleen EP, Jazz Cabbage returns in purple with a special new draft in the team: Daisuke Kondo from Okayama - Japan. After spending his teenage years playing bass in local psychedelic bands, Daisuke finds his calling through Detroit soulful house, and delivers here a well rounded punchy deep house EP with distinctive Jazzy harmonies & percussions.
On the flip is french broken beat Don Kaffe Crème doing what he does best... Follow the Cabbage!

here's a bit of a story to Side A. In 1996, JD Twitch released a 12" by Manchester's Bryn Jones aka Muslimgauze on his then label Pi Recordings. He also, along with a friend, arranged Muslimgauze's first and only Scottish live performance (attended by 6 people). Around that time, Jones, sadly no longer with us and one of the most prolific musicians ever to exist sent Twitch multiple CD-Rs of unreleased material, including the track featured here. He said he had made this track in 1985, and there is no reason to doubt his word although also no way to prove this is true, but we are going to accept his word for it which means that it could be said Jones pre-empted UK Hardcore around 5 years before anyone else. This is made all the more remarkable by the fact that he never used samplers but rather worked extensively with tape loops. The track has been very slightly edited by Twitch to make it a little more club playable. Twitch called in German breakbeat expert and all round tip top producer Victor Shan to remix it and Gerd Janson then asked to join the party too. They turn in a modern twist on UK Hardcore / Rave (via Deutschland) with hoovers set to stun. They also did a more late night hoover free mix which is only available digitally.

On the AA side, we are delighted to welcome the debut release from yet more mysterious Italians; the male/female duo that is Underspreche. "Flowers From The Lake" is based around a sample taken (with permission) from field recordings of the Mukunguni tribe in Kenya and released by Honest Jon's Records. It weaves it into a deeply psychedelic techno track with an extended mind warping outro. Underspreche also give us "Naked" an exquisite hypno techno track that while clinical and precise manages to exude a feeling of warmth so often missing in modern techno.
