What better to kick off this series of essentials than DJ Pierre's 1991 Wild Pitch mix of the mighty Photon Inc's anthemic 'Generate Power', a record that still smashes dance-floors across the globe to this very day, a true house classic that is the perfect opener for this new series. Backed by George Morel's equally influential and funky 1993 proto-UK Garage groover 'Let's Groove' you can see the quality control is set to high. Copenhagen's Tartelet continues its 10 th anniversary with another an EP in their Limited Edition Series. This one finds Glenn Astro serving up five exclusive tracks on the 12". The EP takes inspiration from Keith Haring's celebrated Crack is Wack mural in New York, which was a reaction to the drug epidemic of the time. Only 250 copies will be released worldwide.

In a short space of time, Glenn Astro has cooked up his own unique musical world. He has released full-lengths on Ninja Tune alongside Max Graef, and recently on Apollo Rec, sister label of R&S, in conjunction with Hodini.

The opener 'Crack Is Wack' is a loose and live sounding jam with warm synth chords, alternating 808 drumpatterns and breaks. It has a celebratory feel as expressive keys and walking basslines take turns to take the lead and move things forwards. The feel good 'Der Langweiler' is a much slower and loveably lazy joint, incorporating a cosmic 808 drum groove mixed with arpeggiated Wurlizer chords and a grooving e-bassline sinking you deep into the late night groove.

On the flip and switching up the vibe again is 'Der Maschine', which has frazzled electronic synths next to wooden hits and a playfully distorted drum machine to make for something that brims and bristles with dance floor energy in inventive new ways.

'Boring Times On Beleuse Five' is a tripped out sci-fi track with percolating drums and heavenly chords. It's sparse and dynamic but with a compelling rhythm. 'Discomania' is an exclusive and vinyl-only cover version of Piero Umiliani's eponymous electronic disco classic, is a gorgeously spaced out disco instrumental with expressive keys, drums and percussion all adding up to something impossibly infectious.

The record has always been a big influence on the house scene with it finding new fans over and over, and it's easy to see why - brilliant arrangements, musicianship and of course - those voices! Disco bliss. On the flip side is the mighty Tom Moulton's mix of the Blue's 1979 smasher 'Look Me Up', another premium slice of incredible disco soul for the dancers and the lovers. Following on from the three highly-acclaimed CoOp Presents 'Selectors Assemble' compilation EPs from the past year, it's now time to focus on some of the individual talents from the ever-evolving movement. As the international foundation grows, we invite aboard the extremely talented Neue Grafik into the fold.

French producer, instrumentalist and DJ, Neue Grafik, has been building a strong rep for himself over the past few years, releasing records previously on labels such as Rhythm Section, 22a and Wolf Music. His sound is a hybrid of jazz, house, broken beat and hip hop, all with his unique geographical flavours of African ethnicity, Parisian roots and a love for London thrown into the mix.

So to the music - two brand new tracks, 'I Miss Something' and 'Bed Stuy's Mood', complete with remixes from EVM128, Danvers, Xtra Bruk and NameBrandSound (aka label bosses IG Culture & Alex Phountzi) respectively, making this one essential package for the bruk soldiers and beyond.

"I remember the first time I was at a CoOp party and met IG - I just said something like "unbelievable party, well done! Thank you, man". I didn't expect to be a part of this brilliant family a few months after that; it's totally insane to think about it now.

I began to hang properly with the CoOp fam during a DJ session at The Flex in East London. I was so happy to live in this moment; surrounded by these talented performers, artists and producers, excitedly talking about unreleased music on everyone's USB sticks.

This EP is a personal vision of the broken beat scene and my love for that. A meeting with artists who build my own taste, with friends keeping the same vibrancy and desire for this music. Klamauk is back and ready to drop their second release of 2017 with their very own Tilman. The German artist brings us his second release on Klamauk and has already turned heads with a string of quality records on Fine, Tenderpark or Quality Vibe Records and this current release is up to his usual high standards channelling deep, sample driven house vibes.

The 4 Track EP kicks of with Work It', a sample driven house track which surely will be a hit on the dancefloor. Sophisticated' uses a lighter touch with a nice percussion rhythm, a funky bassline and an overall happy feeling. Late Night Tales welcomes back the cult figure and ultimate musical connoisseur, Bill Brewster to compile his second episode of the curated compilation series 'After Dark'. An obscure and timeless DJled journey which begins somewhere out in the near ocean, the waves are rolling and lolling gently into the shore, while a full moon shines on the surface. It's only faint, but somewhere nearby is the sound of bass, pulsing slowly, almost in time to the waves. Welcome back to 'After Dark: Nightshift'. Once again Bill Brewster comes armed with a sensitivity and sense of occasion that few other DJs possess. Delivering another batch of slow cooked musical stews, making sure the tempo stays nice and steady and the emphasis is on funk, soul, grits and corn fried chicken, Brewster has done so much digging, Late Night Tales had to hire a forklift truck and tractor. Among the unreleased nuggets, there's the Fernando mix of The Detachments; inordinate excitement about Gino Fontaine, a tune spotted a year ago but has languished in Andy Meecham's Stafford catacombs ever since. Also unearthed are some hitherto secret recordings between Robert Fripp and The Grid, and there are also some proper club faves here, too, like the daft but brilliant 'Mopedbart' by Hubbabubbaklubb and the luminous 'Boutade' by Mugwump, as well as killer oldies like Salsoul Invention and General Lee

Szymon Hollner is a talented young producer from Poland. In 2010 he released two EPs on Relax 2000, a sublabel of the highly reputated Snork Enterprises. Szymon has a really unique style and refuses to take part of the ruling fashions. A lot of guys pretend doing it, he DOES! This is no mainstream, no consensus, this is FUNKY underground shit.

Wade from Hello Records called Mr. PC "Detroit's hardest working DJ" about a year back, and the fruits of his labor shine through on this curious beatdown and jazz funk re-edit record. In his own words, "The scene doesn't need another hand-stamped and numbered vinyl-only disco edit label, so I went ahead and took the proverbial razor and tape to some jazz-fusion-disco-not-disco tracks that influenced me coming up as a bass player, now fully capable for DJ dance floor elevation." 450 hand-stamped and numbered

Finally a new sampler on Siena.! This time on 3.0 a broad range of sounds from Funk to Techno. The A-side starts with a smooth summer jam by Griffy Hildalgo. Perfect to start a roadtrip! Tetelepta & Gerressen teamed up to fill out the A2 with their raw sampling house joint.

For the techno heads among us, yes, the B sides delivered it. B1 start with Bas Amro with his emotional melodies and deep grooves. The closing track for this EP is by Ben Buitendijk, who delivered a true masterpiece 'Detroit Techno Lovers' don't miss it!

Cody Currie, the young house protégé hailing from London town, turns in the eighth release on Secret Reels with his 'Peach Fuzz EP'

Lead track 'Prologue' is all about driving beats and powerful chords while 'Peach Fuzz' is a little warmer and melodic, brass hits and bassline licks aplenty.

'Urlaub Kommt' is a flute line lead groove monster with it's roots firmly in the disco tinged side of house.

'Woman' is the funkiest slice of the Peach Fuzz pie, gliding along the needle with slick Rhodes chords and spacey arps.

Here we have 'Silk Cutlery', the debut EP from Jive Talk on white label only imprint, Not For You Records. It's upfront, chunky and totally tight disco to make you, well, jive!

First up is 'Love Jones'; a bouncy bassline and delicious pitched up vocal illustrate the producers shrewd ear for uncomplicated grooves and is clearly primed for the dancefloor. 'Percussie Sanway' builds gloriously into an out and out stream roller of a track with its glitzy tinges and irresistible bass drive. Wrapping up the record we have some low slung crunk, guided by a vocal tease from Wycleff throughout. On repeat!

This tantalising inception from the London boys is surely a pledge to everything that is right about the genre. Grab it while it's hot!

Ursprünglich veröffentlichte der französische Produzent Yan Tregger das Album 1978 bei Musical Touch Sound, einem auf Produktionsmusik spezialisierten Label. Im Jahr darauf schob er die LP "Ducks & Drakes" nach. Beide Scheiben erlangten in der Szene einen geradezu mystischen Ruf und avancierten zu gefragten Sammlerstücken. Selbstredend sind die Platten absolute Raritäten und praktisch nicht mehr erhältlich. Nachdem der Chicagoer DJ, Produzent und Vinylfreak Mark Grusane unlängst auf seiner bei BBE lancierten Kompilation "The Real Sound Of Mark Grusane" einen Edit der Disco-Bombe "Riff Off" verwendete, wurde das Interesse an "Catchy" neu entfacht. Schließlich gelang es BBE in Kooperation mit dem in der Dance-Szene etablierten DJ und Produzenten Frankie Valentine als Kurator, in die persönlichen Archive Yan Treggers vorzustoßen und mit dessen Erlaubnis die zwei DiscoMeilensteine neu aufzulegen.

Strut present a brand-new edition of Oneness of Juju's Afro-jazz classic 'African Rhythms', originally released on Black Fire in 1975 and first reissued on Strut in 2002.

For bandleader James 'Plunky' Branch, 'African Rhythms' marked a significant return to his home town of Richmond, Virginia after a politically charged five years based on the East and West coasts. His personal journey had taken him from activism at Columbia University to San Francisco where Zulu musician Ndikho Xaba used theatre to 'resurrect' Afro-Americans with a new African identity. The first incarnation of Plunky's band, Juju, drew attention to the struggle in South Africa under apartheid, layering heavy Afro rhythms under uncompromising avant garde jazz.

Back in Richmond, Plunky tapped into the mid-Atlantic preference for Southern R&B and gospel: 'Juju had always been blues-based and it was a natural progression to add R&B and dance rhythms. It didn't change our message.' Produced by Jimmy Gray of Black Fire Records, the new sessions included the title track ('We wanted a song to dance to with a message - 'you are dancing to African rhythms''), the positive message of 'Don't Give Up' and political commentary on 'Liberation Dues'.

Originally just a regional hit on the East coast and in Washington DC specifically, the album gradually spread, influencing the nascent DC go-go scene. The UK revived the album during the rare groove era of the late '80s and the title track has since become a soul-jazz favourite worldwide.

Remastered from the original sessions and featuring rare photos and extensive liner notes, this new repress also features Part 1 and Part 2 of the original 45 version of 'African Rhythms' and the previously unheard 'Afrobeat', recently unearthed from the original tapes.

This is already our seventh Deep Love compilation and we dare to say our most complete yet in sound and flow. The ten pieces on this sampler blend in perfectly with that laid back 'late' summer mood. We are very pleased to welcome yet again some new acts to Dirt Crew with the likes of 'Jaxx Madicine', 'Ouer', 'Times are Ruff' and 'S3A'. We cross many borders not only in genres but also country wise. From the heavy Disco sampled jam by French producer 'S3A' to the Jazz and Funk laden epos of the Italian 3 piece 'Jaxx Madicine' over to the Dutch deep house boys 'Times Are Ruff' who are well known from their, same named, label and finally to the Berlin duo 'Ouer' who also run an own label and released with our good friends at 'Heist Recordings', delivering an ecstatic electronic floating tune here.

This is all completed by some excellence from long time Dirt Crew artists. '25 Places' have been with us for many years now and their two Ep's have gotten so much love from the deeper deep house community. Here they drop an epic almost IDM techno like tune that closes this great album in the best possible way. Our Icelandic stall wart 'Felix Leifur' drops a heavy hitter named 'Buster'. After his recent 'Bobby Donny' Ep earlier this year we are thrilled to have him back on Dirt Crew! 'Harry Wolfman' and 'Ponty Mython' need no introduction really, they are adding Electro/ Disco/ Electronica fuelled cuts that form a great middle part to this mix of tunes. Harry going in very smooth and relaxed, something else than his usual House workout which we really loved to present to you. 'Ponty Mython' drops an irresistible 'good times' indie acid track in his unique 'free' style.

Last, we must of course not forget 'Dan Only' and key wizzard 'Lorenz Rhode'! With another beautifully smooth cut 'Dan Only' follows up on his latest debut Ep with us. Again a smart cross over in Techno and House with a distinct relaxed groove and atmosphere to it. Lorenz is back 'On Top' here after his super successful first offering to the Deep Love series last year and his 'And I Said' EP which stormed many charts. In the middle of touring and working with Detroit Swindle on their 'High Life' album we are super happy that he found the time to make another gem with that raw n funky live feel to it... We couldn't have started this compilation off with a better joint than 'Marakuja'.

DJ Dan has been a pinnacle of the dance music scene in America since the early 90s and has toured around the world with the likes of Carl Cox, DJ Sneak and Pete Tong to name a few. Dan's label imprint InStereo is played by many top DJs around the world and Dan has chosen some of his strongest releases for Vol. 1 of the Slammin Trax series.

Recorded in Denmark in 1986 by the then up and coming afro pop singer Kojo Antwi from Ghana, the tunes were issued in limited numbers as he was leaving Denmark, sparking his international solo career after he left the Classique Vibes. Though a popular favourite on cassette in Ghana his debut album was only released in small numbers in Europe and never achieved the same attention. The tracks selected here showcases Kojo's transition from the highlife sound of the Classique Vibes to the more drum machine driven highlife disco on 'Hini Mi' as well as the deep, computerized reggae on 'Emeribi Be Ba'.

Kingswood Drive and Accidental Return were an early teaser of this new set, due in April. Displaying their signature analogue sounds and arpeggios, alongside broken beats and soul, you wouldn't be alone in hearing the influences of Dam Funk, Herbie Hancock or Bugz In The Attic coming through on these two.
Elsewhere more jittery, playful rhythms underpin Croydon Rooftop Café Culture. As well as in the calming and ethereal Prints On The Heath, a subtle tribute to mutual hero Prince, who passed away on the unusually prolific day this and two other, currently unreleased, tracks were written and recorded.Throughout the EP the duo nod at their London home from the "Heath" to Kingswood Drive and more obviously Croydon itself. The sound of South London is threaded throughout this record with pride.
Even down to the mechanical sunset sound of EP finale Thorns, capturing some of the essence of the studio view over London from their high point on the hill in Thornton Heath.
The first EP from Albert's Favourites co-founders and synth-production duo Modified Man focused on throwing out heavy editing, recording music with as few processes as possible and grabbing performances as single takes. Blending warped cassette recordings that touched upon early jazz-funk/brit-funk influences with the energy of broken beat and experimental electronica, won them support from Patrick Forge, Osunlade, Thris Tian, Yam Who and Titeknots to name a few.
Since that release they premiered new track Thorns live on Boiler Room, going on to deliver a full, three-hour live performance and DJ set for the infamous global community.They also provided remixes for Dele Sosimi, Amp Fiddler, Makadem & Behr and Hector Plimmer, meanwhile, busily preparing a series of four, six-track vinyl EPs which will be released over the next 18 months.
