Derrick May's Transmat is back with the symbolic catalog number MS200 and the promising French producer Karim Sahraoui (AKA Djinxx). A new chapter will now be devoted to multiplying emerging artists' productions - not only musically, but also with a classic artwork that recalls Transmat's debuts and captivate us with modern interpretations of Transmat's distinctive sounds.

"Overdose" is the new series of vinyl only releases, launched by the Spanish label Cyanide. The purpose of the imprint is meeting the musical needs of the classic deep house junkies with timeless quality stuff. In their first poison dose, the label managed by Oscar Barila, introduces us the upcoming Italian talent Queemose.

"Promise" is forward driven psychedelic deep house track, with delicate pads and a strong rhythm. The perfect sound to heat up the dancefloor and blow your crowd minds. The ep is spiced by 3 top notch remixes by the Canadian duo EZLV (Nurvous, Save Room), the UK combo Jammhot (Defected, Morris Audio) and the Russian producer Dave Pad (Highway, Plastic City).

Ploiesti Romania area childhood friends Andu Simion, Dan Gheorghe and Bogdan Ardeleanu are inspired by Detroit's house sound and Berlin's techno. Their resulting collaboration is best described as "deep techno" and their first release is appropriately on Moods & Grooves known for pushing both envelopes. 'Les sons de la Lisie`re is a reflection of the beauty and silence of nature found in the suburbs of Ploiesti.

Parisian label Escapade launches with a four-track 12 by Yuri Shulgin. The Russian artist first appeared in 2010 under the Mistanomista moniker on the Italian label Black Sunshine. He later released three records under his real name, first on Anton Zap's Ethereal Sound, then on Black Wall and finally on Modernista. Yuri's productions mix jazzy and funky vibes with electronic elements, which inevitably calls to mind the classic Detroit house sound. They have a warm and authentic feeling to them, thanks to his bass, guitar and keys abilities. Poducers such as Vakula have relied on his instrumentalist skills, but on Polyphonic Mind it is his turn to call on other musicians. 'Nothing In The City' features his friend Yuri Smirnov on the alto saxophone and kicks off this release on a laid back groove, which becomes more energetic in the second half of the track. Trumpet player Victor Netesov a.k.a. Humsafar joins them on 'Polyphonic Mind' for a full jazzy session. On the B side, Shulgin reveals his experimental facet with two jams using synths and delays. 'Livetrackrecording (Dubby)' leans into hypnotic territory while '#1stereo (Analog Jam)' rounds up the record with dreamy explorations.

HNNY strikes again with his second 12' on Local Talk this year.

The lead track Tears puts HNNY back in peaktime territory and as with previous tracks Yearning and For The Very First Tim, HNNY shows you do not need many ingredients to serve classic house flavours, just the right amount of grit and a irresistible vocal.

First out on the b-side is Gymnastics, a blistering disco number or as Tooli described it 'a 100% string-stomper.'
Ending this 12' is No Tears, a dub version with all the key details from Tears but also goes deeper and with more added efx.

"Land Of Confusion" is one of the most seminal Chicago Acid House records.

Originally released in 1987 on Bam Bam's Westbrook imprint and produced by the legendary Armando Gallop it marked the start of a recording career that would make him a household name among House and Techno aficionados. To say "Land Of Confusion" is raw is an understatement, it consists of a handful of elements but it's impact when played is incendiary. Armando's TB-303 acid lines sound possessed and unruly while the primitive drum machine patterns stagger around the track giving it a feeling of out of control urgency, a truly Lo-fi piece of crazy Chicago acid that was popular with many DJ's in Chicago (Including Ron Hardy at the Muzic Box) and around the world and continues to be influential today. An essential record for any discerning House or Techno fan.

This official re-issue 12" features all 3 original versions of "Land Of Confusion" and the original Westbrook label art. All tracks have been re-mastered and fully licensed in conjunction with Bam Bam / Westbrook Records, Chicago USA.

Kevin Saunderson's Detroit-based imprint celebrated its 25th Anniversary back in 2012, and the label's continued to cement its legacy with key vinyl reissues over the past couple of years. The recent campaign included Saunderson's Just Want Another Chance, the track which contains the "Reese" bassline—rivaled only by the Amen break as a formative element of drum & bass—as well as '90s releases from MK, Kreem (Saunderson's duo with Juan Atkins) and Chez (Damier) N (Ron) Trent.

The two remix compilations dwell on Chez N Trent versions produced during the 1993 through 1995 period, when they released enduring originals like "Morning Factory" and "The Choice." Volume One contains remixes of Sonya Blade and Miller/Scott Project while the second EP includes Damier and Trent's versions of Kreem as well as Saunderson's seminal vocal house group, Inner City. Chez N Trent's takes on Naomi Daniel's "Feel The Fire" and Essar'ay's "Forces" are also included.

"DJ Sliink, springing from the Jersey Club scene, has built an impressive reputation for his contributions to North American dance music. So much so that Vibe Magazine included him on their list of 30 DJ's to watch. His angular, spare take on club music can be described as straight forward, as much as a punch in the face can be described as straight forward anyway.

Elevater Action's cadre of producers and DJ's emerged from the nascent UK Funky scene of 2010, running a monthly event that followed the bleeding edge of that sound as it morphed into the nebulous genre of "Bass Music". The collective hosted DJ Sliink to a packed house in 2012, and have featured a diverse range of artists including HXdb, Distal, Donga, Cosmic Revenge, Prism, and Mike G.

As a label, Elevater Action puts aside ego and theatrics to focus on forward thinking, quality releases for fans of the ever-evolving concept of the sound system. There's no better way of expelling hubris than using their third vinyl release to again showcase artists they respect and admire, this time via two of the best remixes of Elevater Action's own productions.

DJ Sliink's reworking of FBOM's haunting 'Jansen' gives a muscular edge to the original, with crushing bass and a stark intensity that's set to tear up vinyl sets everywhere. A longtime favorite of the EA crew, KingThing reworks Dylan C's fantastic "Invasive Species" into a thumping, slow-burn of uncontrollable gyration. The propulsive, but dark brand of minimalism exhibited by both tracks is primed to ignite the dance floor. "

The Stateside bass collective Elevater Action's 5th vinyl release finds London based maestro Mr. Mageeka delivering 2 cuts of visceral and hypnotic house music. Previously known as MC Mega, Mageeka has been a part of the UK garage movement since it's formative years and the authenticity of his music speaks for itself with relentless and truly unique vibes. The A-side "Most" finds him at top form: swing-driven four on the floor with a timeless bass line that rolls seamlessly into soulful pads and tastefully placed chords, with a frenetic vocal hook that doesn't let up. The B Side Vinyl exclusive "Up In Smoke" features a sexy and sinister organ line leading into a bonafide sermon about Jack himself. Peppered with a swaggering vocal chant that keeps the intensity high throughout the track, the raw groove revives a classic sound into a modern context. EA's own Dylan C closes out the plate with a stripped down dub edit of Most, bringing the vibe of the original into a darker context with cryptic bass flexes and stripped down, minimal percussion while the vocal of the original melts into hallucinatory staccato. After a relatively quiet 2015 which saw Brooklyn's Throne of Blood release the third volume in the Moon Rock ambient series and a handful of singles from Man Power, Jimi After, and Vito & Druzzi, things are already heating up for 2016.
Kicking things off is a really special collaborative 12' from Steve Cobby, the Hull-based producer best known as one half of downbeat legends Fila Brazillia, and Stephen Mallinder of Cabaret Voltaire fame. Throne of Blood is honored to be working with such towering influences, and excited to be bringing some truly special recordings to life.
The proceedings kick off with 'Tumblefish' a cosmic soup of hangdrum samples and breakbeats backed by an acidic bassline built for Balearic b-boys. Mark E's remix strips the proceedings back, morphing 'Tumblefish' into a grinding chugger that's equal parts techno and house.
Things get really interesting on the B side with Cobby and Mal versioning one of the holiest of holy grails in leftfield music, 'Vitamin C' by krautrock legends, Can. Drenched in echo and anchored by a mechanically teutonic beat, their version swaps the moody desperation of the original for a dislocated mechanical swagger. TOB label manager Max Pask's dub raises the tempo and retrofits 'Vitamin C' for maximum dancefloor impact. Closing things out, Correspondant/Voyeurhythm hotshot Man Power returns to TOB with a driving remix layering drum machines, shambolic synths, and a driving bassline to close out the ep.

Sumthin' Else is a 100BPM grinder that facetiously calls out his "quiet" New York. Much like Son Of Sound's latest release on Local Talk, the production on this comes across raw and honestly. Even the skits feature candid conversations with friends while record digging in the city, exchanges with nightclub security while arriving at gigs, and other picture painting scenarios that any grinding DJ can relate to.

Needles to say we're delighted to have Lopkin on board. Stephen makes his mark with a release firmly influenced by his passion for Detroit and Chicago's House and Techno scenes. It's a release layered with strings, soaring pads and an abundance of hats and snares.. everything we love at Titanic City.
There's a rough and raw DIY feel to this music that makes it jump out of the speakers and arrest your attention, as is always the case with Titanic City. Stand up pay attention.

The Utopia Project, yet another one of many pseudonyms for legendary producer Rheji Burrell of Burrell brothers fame. All 4 of the "Files" contained within this EP bear the classic hallmarks and sounds of the Burrell brothers signature style; taut drum programming, deep, melodic synth washes, bass-lines from the darkest recesses of NYC's streets and dance-floors and an instantly recognizable atmosphere. Like much of the brothers output these tracks are designed to be heard either very, very late at night or in the early hours of the morning and are some of the defining sounds of New York's underground night-clubs in the formative parts of the 1990's.

A true underground House record, over 20+ years old and still sounding as fresh and current as ever, "File 1" is now available again for 2015, re-mastered and re-pressed with the permission of and in conjunction with the Burrell brothers / Nu-Groove Records, New York City.

The two tracks on this release are a tribute to the dawn of House Music. During the mid-1980`s, House typically featured a dominant bassline and driving rhythms to which home-rehearsed dance steps were proudly shown off at local clubs and admired by the crowds. Jackin` George brings back that feeling. 'I'm gonna make your body jack like back in 1987.' Take him by his word and follow him straight onto the original House Music dance floor of the old days. The second part in the Hudd Traxx 10th Anniversary 'Now & Then' compilation sees tracks from Luna City Express, Sek, Iz & Diz and Rick Wade. Berlin duo Luna City Express serve up a lush deep house groove that builds throughout the track, and will bring a smile to the faces of those who follow them on their beloved Moon Habour Recordings. Sek uses slick beats, trippy leads, a driving bassline and some 'Thug life' vocals to ensure this one has 'future classic' written all over it. Go back in time (to 2006 to be precise) on the 'Then' side to find Iz & Diz's 'Happy'. The words 'epic' & 'journey' are often misused in music but both can be mentioned about this track. It had devastating effect on first release and is set to do the same again nearly 10 years later. Rick Wade closes things out in fine style to fly the Detroit flag on an all Chicago / Detroit side.
