Large Music begins another chapter in it's celebrated history with the flagship release of a new vinyl series entitled Wax Weapons. We have seen many re-issues of classic releases over the last 12 months from the Large camp-but this time owner and founder Jeff Craven focuses on the new artists and fresh sounds that continue to elevate the label's stellar reputation. Four tracks to choose from here that all possess a unique Chicago flavor and are aimed squarely at the dance floor.

Louie 'Balo' Guzman dropped this fine slab of NY Garage House, his debut EP, way back in 1994 on the legendary Eightball Records. This 4 tracker showcases all the US influences that were evident on a lot of subsequent UK Garage records, It's all here - the deep rolling bassline's, pads and that killer mid 90's era drum programming, shuffling, metallic, funky. A dream for the DJ's, tools packed with pure soul! Across the 4 cuts Guzman drops a bevy of styles, each track sounding fresh and most importantly, as we said before - funky! As we all know, this era of dance music from the US was extremely fertile, sometimes there are records that deserve more props, often coveted by the digging cognoscenti, and this is one of them, as good as the Mood II Swing's, the MAW's, Blaze's or any of the other production outfits you'd care to mention. Somewhere in-between early Tribal, Deep House, and Garage you'll find the 'Boogiebalo EP'. A rare record that's a tough one to get your hands on and a truly worthy addition to any self respecting House-heads record stash for real.

Originally released in 2008 'The Lab' is one of the definitive Tsuba releases from the now disbanded Peace Division.
The undeniable Peace Division groove which made PD one of the most respected duos in house music is in full force throughout this EP. The beat-perfect arrangements that Drake and Henry were known for are here too but there's an increased warmth throughout with the use of sparse chords, subtly used samples and gentle layering of sounds.
From the heavy John Ciafone-esque vibes of Theory and "We Want You" to the smooth liquidity of Get Over it via the futurist updates of the traditional house template of Basik of In My Mind this EP is Peace Division at their very best.

Ben Gomori's Monologues Records brings two of its most popular releases to vinyl after a long wait. Laurence Guy's 'Les Mur' EP signalled the start of a great run for the London producer, with releases following on Church, Dirt Crew Recordings and Fort Romeau's Cin Cin. The title track is a graceful, deep piano roller, while 'Sunlite' goes into chuggier, synthier territory.


Young French talent Leon Revol has released on Apersonal and Kolour LTD with some very fine sample-heavy grooves, but 'Clear Definition (Dub Mix)' shows he's not short on his own ideas - with a tinge of the early Herbert sound to it. 'Eulogy For Hip-Hop' takes some lush disco strings and whirls them into a romantic slice of early doors class.

AUS follow up some landmark records from the likes of Bicep, Shenoda, Youandewan and new addition Fold with the return of a label-favourite - the esteemed man of the moment Marquis Hawkes who offers up his first full length EP on AUS in the form of 'Chances'. In the wake of his recent outing on Houndstooth as well record on Dixon Avenue Basement Jams and Clone Jack For Daze, the London born Berlin based producer does what he does best for his AUS debut and lines up three rapturous jams packed with Disco loops and tough analogue drum work all suffused a signature degree of grit. The title track filters into focus as truncated and funky loops are set tumbling one after another propelled by ripe, punchy drums before 'A Very Deep Groove' then follows up with syncopated rhythms laying the groundwork for a rich, hypnotic mood. 'Free Of Sin' then finishes things up and sees Marquis building steadily blooming tension through sparse sampling and naturally sequenced drum tracks that close the doors on a stellar 2015 for AUS.

Two time Grammy nominated Felix Da Housecat kickstarts his new label with three original tracks showcasing his timeless production. Founders Of Filth Volume One features the legendary Jamie Principle, who found fame as Frankie Knuckles vocalist and more recently starring in the 2017 Gorillaz album. Montreal DJ and producer Clarian also features on the debut release, concluding the stellar line-up.

Kerri Chandler. The Shelter NYC. Institutions. What else can be said about these pillars of the deep house community Freddy Sanon's seminal club created a code for living, beyond the dancefloor. The ripples of which are still being felt today in dance music. The Shelter was a way of life, a sound, an ideology. 'The Shelter' was the clubs first release on it's foray into actually putting records out. To have KC drop the first record on your label was a coup to say the least, but this was actually another pivotal benchmark in an already fruitful, collaborative union between the super producer and the club / institution.

Computer Controlled Records is a new vinyl only label from Belfast, Northern Ireland encompassing the raw analogue sounds of Chicago & Detroit style techno, house and electro keeping a DIY ethos with screen printed sleeves.

The first release comes from Mark Forshaw who has previously released on Tabernacle, Mathematics, III Rivers and Apartment and is one third of Phantom Planet Outlaws alongside Binny & John Heckle. This ep delivers 4 tracks of raw analouge acid and Detroit techno funk.

Belfast born imprint Computer Controlled Records follow up on their acid rich debut Explorer EP from Mark Forshaw with a five tracker from Chris Moss Acid on a release that also features a jacking collaboration with Breakin' Records owner and all time don DMX Krew. It marks the third in a run of original EP's from Chris Moss Acid who's been enjoying something of a renaissance in his productivity, releasing with a host of top grade labels from to Jerome Hill's revered and uncompromising techno imprint Don't and Dutch electronic hub Shipwrec.

Here he delivers his five track Righteous Beats EP which is set off on the A side by Spatial Dimensions where discordant synths and bell powered melodies are ignited by driving percussion atop a pulsating bass line. Second track The Shamen rolls off driving drum fills and 303 acid lines illuminate the track as Moss Acid takes things up into peak time techno sphere until the A side is summated with his collaboration with DMX Krew, Where Is Your Jack, in a rawer toned track, featuring a jittering bassline and off kilter drum patterns which rove between distorted acid lines.

The B side carries two dense and dark techno numbers to complete the acid romp; title track Righteous Acid Beat is marched along by yet another driving bass line as a pistol shots of noisy high hats punctuate the track. Ominous chants of 'We're gonna get you' lead us into final track Getchu where dark tension rides a brooding and dense techno horror story.g

B-Tracks aka John Barera & Soren Jahan are in charge of the first release on Berlin-based label Regular Expression. As the name of the EP suggests the two hardware-addicts indeed did work something out. As a result they deliver these four raw cuts on DJ-friendly 180g vinyl.

Step in Parris Mitchell, under his Rhythm II Rhythm alias with a 12" of pure deepness for the label, oddly this the only one Parris released using this particular name. "A touch of jazz" is a languid, soulful roller that stands out amongst the more tougher edged, frenetic releases on Dance Mania. This is some late night, smoothed out business across 4 alternate mixes. It's all uptempo snapping drums, shifting jazzy keys and that ridiculously catchy bassline, pure deep house basically.This is the first time "A touch of jazz" has ever been reissued in full, just as it was originally released in 1992, complete with original Dance Mania label artwork. 100% legit, reissued in conjunction with Dance Mania records, Chicago IL and Parris Mitchell."Do it tonight!

Miskotom is a project from Mik and Andra.Originally hailing from Russia but now both residents of Vilnius Lithuania. Both have a long history of music making going back as far as childhood.Andra was involved in 2Muchahos an ambient project which came out on Beko recordings. Mik came up through the indie scene playing in bands before finally settling in the dj booth and then as a producer....Miskotom's music has a magical dreamy quality, sometimes lovely Balearic or melodic pop sounding like long lost tracks form Wally Baderou, but also sounding like sleazy mid 80s chicago basement jams....Analog synths jam along with guitars ,voca land ,handmade percussion mixed down and recorded onto tape. Sometimes 4/4 sometimes no beat at all.....to round off this EP we have an excellant remix from Kito Jempere, who over the last few years has notched up a steady stream of releases over many labels , most recently a killer edits ep for the mysterious Bahnsteig label.

Ron 'DJ Skull' Maney is a legend. 'NRG Music' dropped in 1991 on Chicago's Saber label and cemented his rep as one to watch over the coming years. One of Chicago's new wave of producers with a fierce style and original sound. The original press of 'NRG Music' was super lo-fi and that suited Maney's sound. His blend of jacking box jams, deep pads, porno samples and nasty ass acid lines all complement each other on what is one of the era's most unique EP's. Those who know recognise that Skull's music over the years has always been essential listening material and this, his first EP, is a heavyweight signifier of what was to come! Across 6 tracks we get a surprising cache of styles, from the sleazed out redlight action of 'Nasty girl' to the driving, demented minimalism of 'The raft' it's all here, plain as day, one for the heads, the connoisseurs and the freaks. The real deal!

My Love Is Underground return with only their second release of 2013, with MLIU15 introducing the sounds of Dungeon Meat. The new collaborative endeavor between MLIU regular Brawther and Tristan Da Cunha of Back To Basics fame, Dungeon Meat live up to the brash nature of "The F*ck Off Track" with heavy hitting percussion driven house at it's finest. Look out for a label of the same name from Dungeon Meat later this year. Face down Ukrainian producer SE62 returns for MLIU duty for a third time with the hook heavy deep house burn of "True Force".

There is beauty to be found in the barren streets of Detroit. But they also hold an unexpected danger. Solitude can sometimes make you feel like you're on another planet; alien soundscapes and stark sound shape lonely beats on these lonely streets.

The much loved R-Zone series continues apace here with three more rough analogue jams for its seventh release. If U Going Thru Hell Keep Going is a paranoid, angsty bit of house jack with a busy synth line, hard hitting percussion and plenty of muddy, murky atmosphere. Emojako is even more unhinged and off filter with its weird hooks, dusty hi hats and intense drum workouts. It's a physical one that will fuck with your mind as it changes direction freely, and final track Subatomi is just as freaky and left of centre. The synths are lively and charming, spraying about above a cacophony of woody percussion and heavy drums. It's grainy and roughhewn but groovy and catchy at the same time.

Following his sold out EP for Djebali we welcome MR KS for his Tsuba debut with a killer EP of bumping underground house grooves.

Early last year we played at the small but perfectly formed, Oma Doris club in Dortmund. One of the residents that night was a young DJ by the name of Mr Fries, who during the night handed us a CD of demos.Immediately impressed with what we heard, the idea of an EP was formed.
Nearly a year later we are proud to present the newest member of the pack! First up on remix duties is Hodini whose recent EP on Max Graef and Glenn Astro, Money $ex Records has been on constant rotation since its release.Hodini is an alias of prolific German Hip-Hop producer, Hulk Hodn and a major influence on Mr Fries who has sighted he was one of reason he was one of the main reasons he started to make beats.
To round of the EP we've enrolled long-time friend Garth BE. The artist featured previously on WOLFEP003 back in 2009 with All The Thrills. Since then he has setup the fantastic Sweet Sticky Records, releasing two full length LPs to great acclaim.

The mighty Mystic Bill, a true US House legend though somehow criminally underrated. Those who know, know.
His records have long had a mythical status among the diggers, with DJ's who delve that little bit deeper weaving his sounds into their sets. Having released on numerous labels including Relief, Trax, Classic and more Bill has cemented his rep as an artist that has his own vibe and sound. Bill's music exists in that space where the late night meets the earliest morning, sweaty, dark dance-floors and stripped back, jacking tracks are the order of the day... proper, real deal house music. 'Mystic Files' covers the period of 1989 - 1995 and showcases some of Bill's various styles, originally released on TRAX in 1995 this timely reissue shines a light on an artists who definitely deserves more props! This release has long been a tough one to catch with second hand copies sometimes fetching healthy prices online and collectors clamouring to harness some of Bill's magic... This will be right up your alley if you're a fan of Ron Hardy, Relief / Cajual, Steve Poindexter, Armando and everything in between! Sleeping not advised!

Household name Riva Starr teams up with long time friend Santos to make their debut on the mighty Hot Creations, featuring original Chicago legend DJ Pierre and accompanied by a Davide Squillace remix.

Capturing the essence of Ibiza, title track 'Fallin' on You' hits with tribal percussions and a heady groove. DC10 favourite David Squillace picks up the pace with his remix and Riva Starr teams up with DJ Pierre for 'Acid Train', a funked-up ride of sonic sounds.

Naples native Riva Starr and founder of Snatch! Records has released on the most esteemed underground labels, from Dirtybird and Saved to Hot Creations. His famed 'Rechunk' re-edits have given his fail safe touch to names like from Daft Punk and London Grammar. Collaborator Santos aka Sante Pucello Italian producer and DJ is a respected artist with four albums under his belt and releases on the likes of Saved, Snatch!, Desolat and Crosstown Rebels.

Part of the Better Lost Than Stupid power team alongside Matthias Tanzmann and Martin Buttrich, Davide Squillace is one of the biggest recognized names in the industry and a regular at Circo Loco. Quintessential Acid House producer DJ Pierre has produced more than fifty house anthems ranging from Phuture's 'Acid Trax', 'The Creator' and 'Your Old Friend' to Photon Inc.'s 'Generate Power'.

By taking care of the maiden release on his newborn label 'Basic Moves' he shows the spiritual direction and marks the blueprint for future offerings.

This release comes as collector's Album edition of 475 copies only and it contains the songs "Clouds" and "Interface" released in 1991 plus four unreleased songs recorded in the same year but performed only live during house parties back in the days. This LP still features Stefano Di Carlo, Leo Young and Mauro Tannino.

We're not done celebrating our 10th Anniversary at the Still Music headquarters and we've decided to continue diggin' for some treats from our vaults.

After we've released the critically acclaimed "Kill Yourself Dancing! The Story Of Sunset Records Inc. 1985-89", a lot of our friends were asking us for some specific 12"s to be repressed. We felt obliged to comply and here we go with three of the most significant 12"s from Sunset Records Inc.

Finally, the third repress is a treat for all. Championed at the time by Derrick May and recently played by Marcel Dettmann at Berghain. Ben Mays - Lover Man / Jailbait is for any fan of Larry Heard and the deep Chicago house that we're all fond of. This 12" features Keith Nunnally, vocalist for J.M. Silk that had to keep his name under wraps at the time.
