Another cornerstone record from the mighty Strictly Rhythm catalogue, 'Waterfalls / Feel it' is an essential example of the deeper, more melodic style of house that emanated from NYC / NJ in the early to mid 90's. Originally released in 1991 the EP features the production style of Andrew 'Rags' Richardson with some co-production assistance from one Roger Sanchez. It perfectly encapsulates the style of music that would be played at clubs like the Loft, Shelter, Zanzibar and beyond, a more emotive and soulful strain of House that gives a respectful nod to it's Disco roots. 'Waterfalls / Feel it' has long been the toast of House aficionado's and is most definitely a record that will still have people rushing the booth asking 'what's this!'. An evergreen slab of wax indeed. Essential sounds for the heads.

The Klubb Kidz' was a short-lived project by Peter Primiani and Tyrone Solomon. Between 1993 and 1995 they released three records on DJ Duke's Power Music' and on 83 West.' It's that
typical mid-90s Jersey House with lotsa cut-up Vocals, Pianos and Organ chords. Real bangin' stuff! Loop-o remastered their 1994 tune Don't wanna hurt you' at the famous Calyx Mastering /
Berlin.

Karsten Weiss alias DJ with Soul' is a Deep & Vocal House enthusiast living and DJing in Berlin for quite some time now. His soulful instrumental tune (nomen est omen) is an ode to classical
House by the likes of Joey Negro, Kerri Chandler and others - an epic tune with a long build-up and two jazzy Piano solos by his buddy MickyWin.

Jordan Fields must be one of the most underrated producers of 90s Chicago House. He's done dozens of EPs and LPs under various monikers on tier-1 labels like SSR, House Jam, Large,
Daisy, Camouflage, Moody, etc. One of his first was Underground Fundamentals Vol. 1' on Strictly Rhythm Sublabel Red Cat' in 1994. Everybody Swingin' was also carefully remastered in 2016.
The EP is closed by Italian House Music connoisseur Gioele Giacopelli a.k.a. JWL from Perugia.
His tune's a reminiscence to all the Divas that have built the HOUSE.

Dortmund based producer ''Mr. Fries'' comes up with a soul'ed out 4-track EP for the Soul Notes imprint (11th installment in the main series).
''Norightnowrong'' is a cut that thrives through the use of the catchy vocal cut and the Rhodes that come in on various occasions.

For the A2 ''Datkoollook'' which features fellow North Rhine - Westphalia artist ''Kandinsky''. This track is a more uptempo disco tainted club track which showcases a great guitar solo.

On the B1 we find ''Change''. This is a thrilling piece of work with a some short chords that cut throughout and nicely fitting vocal cuts.

Cologne based Soul Notes usual ''Adryiano'' comes up with a very club oriented version of ''Norightnowrong'' in his signature style.

The Brother's LEEB are releasing their first limited, vinyl only E.P. on "Smile for a while." Now, who are those guys

One of the bros - DJ Eb-clectic - helped building Germany's Hip Hop scene during the late 1980s and 1990s in Frankfurt / Main, but also did some Chicago House tunes with Deskee and Gene Farris on Force Inc. in the 1990s, as well. This brother is a real keeper! The other bro - Leander Janik - is in his mid 20s and quite an avid home composer on his little Roland Synthie. He's a long term member of the S4AW crew, and has shared a studio with all the other guys. Needless to say The Brothers are hell of a DJ duo, too...

So the results on this 12" are inevitable: Hip Hop style sampling technique meets lush piano chord sequences. Phat Beats vs. a whole lot of love. Brother's working it out, Frankfurt style!

The freaky kinda Remix comes from Kolja Gerstenberg, the guy whose debut EP on S4AW skyrocketed onto the Boiler Room & Groove Armada's Fabric mix CD. Deepest House for da real diggerz!

First solo EP from artist Baptiste Veilhan under the alias Bataille, this second release from RER is a self-contained universe that fits into the label's open-minded, experimental style.Veteran of the Parisian club scene, Bataille has risen through the ranks of several house and minimal labels with his group Antislash as well as joining forces with trans-genre labels such as Silicate to release solo work under the name John Merrick. With this EP he delivers two tracks that share the same tone but differ in intention. Like two sculptures crafted from the same material, these pieces use a common tool to reveal two distinct aspects of the artist's psyche. The spirit of the record is eminently sensitive and in this respect Bataille develops a panorama of emotions to illustrate his narrative, culminating in two poems that are a reminder of how techno can tell a story as well as make people dance. DUB CONNECTION relates an aching surge in a deluge of chanting, heady synths. The loops emerge from the track in search of a summit that doesn't appear, and this restraint, this melancholic pressure, is vertiginous like the insatiable moments of adolescence. In a confusion of grace and hostility, DUB CONNECTION bellows out that all is lost yet the game was still worth playing. ACID DIRTY LIFE is another vicious spiral. But unlike the internal storm of DUB CONNECTION, this is an acid hurricane that threatens the world and its inhabitant. Turbulent rhythms bid us to a tropical communion where the seasons favour techno that is hot and heavy.

Antonio from Italy, Pescara, now living in Frankfurt Germany, is doing the 4th EP on Deeptrax. Heavy hitting 'tape techno' tracks, some with pace, others with that charming Italian passion into it. Both melancholy and pumping, think DJ Rush meets the Tetris theme in an oddball, groovy-as-hell work of genius.The cut-up, loopy loops and tough, tribal beats on Apilli are deranged in a good way and - as with the rest of the EP - demonstrate a quirkiness and subtle humour akin to Basement Jaxx's early golden period.A big sample drives the jacking, sweaty, glitz of Upsqwar's warped take on handbag, which channels the spirit of Modjo and features a ponderous, almost chiptune melody drifting subtly over the top.The EP closes with the Greek flavoured stomper Glas, which wouldn't sound out of place on Richie Hawtin's 1999 mix album Decks, EFX & 909. This new EP is first release since jus a lil for Crazylegs, which gained high praise from NPR, Resident Advisor, Indie Shuffle, Mixmag, Dummy, Hyponik and FACT - who commissioned a video and coined the tongue-in-cheek genre name 'outsider Ibiza'. Comparisons have been made to Thomas Bangalter, Alan Braxe, Todd Edwards and David Morales - albeit a skewed reinterpretation. Like the punks' assimilation of rock and roll, DJJ's fresh and irreverent take on highlights from dance music history make for some of the most exciting sounds since Daft Punk's first forays.Although distorted and with lowered bit-rates, to call theses tracks 'low fi' is to do them a disservice, as DJJ's manipulation of frequencies, distortion and samples is deceptively simple yet not easily matched. There's a mastery of sonics and leftfield sensibility at play, akin to fellow EQ tweakers Heiroglyphic Being, Aphex Twin and Adrian Sherwood.DJJ is a member of the Bristol-based label/collective Crazylegs, alongside artists including Gage, Sudanim, Finn (all of whom remixed just a lil). He's also one half of ISLAND, whose grime-flavoured Nokia EP was release in 2015 - also on Crazylegs.

Bedouin was first featured on the label's 2015 Summer Sampler with‚Flight Of Birds' helping build their reputation as master music makers. Following on from this is their first full EP on All Day I Dream. Each track casts its own unique spell. One thing Rami and Tamer know is mood. Opening with 'Straight To The Heart' beauty and hypnotic vibes abound. Sounding as good pitched up as it does at it's patient pace, it's groove ignites the dance floor as well as the heart. ‚The Way Home' takes it's time to build textures and layers creating a more somber mood. Welcome to the all new Children Of The Box, a label heavily inspired by the edgier side of Chicago's legendary club, the 'Music Box'. We're getting things rolling with a whirlwind of raw Analog recordings by Gavin Guthrie, aka TX Connect (L.I.E.S., Creme Organization, T.R.U.).
First up is 'Dripping', which carries a vintage (yet modern) Gherkin Jerks sound. The song continuously builds throughout the track, ending in a frenzy of synthesizer's & 707 drum patterns.
The title track 'Into the Box' takes you on a hypnotic journey through the mind of Hellraiser's very own Pinhead. A melodic interlude gives the listener a slight break, but only to return with a vengeance.Not Forever' brings a 'back to the future' vibe, equally stacked with both vintage & modern elements. The song comes complete with an overpowering low synth line & 707 drums. Closing things out is 'Destinies', a track inspired by the deeper side of the Windy City. A more than perfect ending to a stellar release.

89:GHOST present an EP recorded in 1996, and originally only a test pressing (2 copies remain in existence) on Nottingham house oracle Cas Roc's "Big Fella" imprint. ome might say Jordan Fields is one of the most criminally underappreciated figures to rise out of Chicago in the late 90s, not for people who know what's what though. After a career spanning more than 20 years he has established himself as one of the key figures of the underground. Coming out of where everything started, Chicago, Jordan released records on a handful of key labels like Catalyst, Track Mode, SOM Underground, Mood Groove, Maffia. He did not stop there and today he is still releasing bangers having never lost that magic touch that has kept him firmly grounded on the purest form of the underground, and that, after more than 20 years is pretty much unheard of. When we first contacted Jordan we wanted to go back to where it all started, we wanted to be transported to late 90s Chicago, to a time where it was all about the dance floor, when tracks meant something more than songs, when purely club-oriented music was the purest form of the underground. To be honest we were not expecting to get exactly what we wanted straight away, he immediately sent us a collection of tools straight out of DAT tapes he had, going all the way back to the 90s and early 2000s, so yeah to say that we are excited with this release would be a huge understatement. This is a collection of tools meant for the dancefloor, not reminiscent of some gone by era, these are the real deal, made by a true master, 20 years ago, for the future.

Melbourne synthesist Harvey Sutherland brings four stripped-back rhythm tracks to Echovolt Records for his debut 12'. Features a long edit of 'Q3' from last year's limited cassette release, plus three new original cuts.
Developed and refined from Sutherland's improvised live show, the 'Edges E.P.' glides between the sparse melodic funk on 'Sunday Flower' to the tightly-wound house shuffle of 'Speaking Your Language'. The title track rounds out the B-side - a long rollicking hardware jam, all Juno brass and marching band snares.

We present the Decay debut of TIJN including a killer remix from Pezzner. Label boss of In Haus Wax & self titled TIJN Label, both vinyl only outlets, & Digital Label Deep Edition Recordings, UK-born TIJN has been making house records since 2007 as Martijn but more recently as TIJN taking a more direct analog approach in the studio. Bristol based producers Behling & Simpson take on remixing some Kerri Chandler classics this August with the 'Heaven' EP, set to drop via Kerri's very own Madhouse Records
imprint.

Madhouse Records boss Kerri Chandler needs no introduction having been one of the most prominent names in underground house music for over two decades now. While rising talents Behling & Simpson's collective output has been championed by the likes of Claude von Stroke, Derrick Carter, Ralph Lawson, Modeselektor and many more over the pairs 100+ previous releases between them (under various guises), this stands as testament to their undeniable ability to craft forward-thinking electronic music.

First up on the release we have 'Heaven' featuring Christopher McCray on vocal duties, Behling & Simpson's prevalent low-slung, dropped tempo rhythms take the lead, alongside hypnotic lowend tones, while the duo capture Chandler's warm musicality with style utilizing the original's bright chord progressions and smooth vocal licks, creating an intricate, intelligent slice of house. 'Peace Of My Mind' follows on the flip side, a track originally released on Madhouse in 2011, though returning to the label in 2014 with an intriguing reshape courtesy of the Behling & Simpson, again taking on the pair's niche slo-mo feel, setting the tone and radiantly showcasing why their sound stands tall above many of their
contemporaries in such an effortlessly cool way.

If you've been with us for a while, you've noticed we like to begin each year on a particularly exuberant, boisterous note, and 2016's kickoff is no different than those that preceded it!

We begin the second half of this decade with our first EP by Klaves, a relatively new name whom you might've picked up on when he released a spectacular single on PMR's Beat Club imprint. He's remained quite quiet since then, so we're extra joyous to be unleashing what is effectively his second offering on our humble label.

Say It starts off with its title track, a compact, tight little number that fidgets its way through its four minute runtime in what feels half as long. It's always the fun stuff that's most fleeting, right Well, not necessarily: the original is followed by a slightly lengthier remix by Studio Barnhus affiliate, the enigmatic and idiosyncratic Baba Stiltz. The Swede spices 'Say It' up with a ladle of saucy piano and playful pitch bends.

The B-side, 'Awake,' does what its name indicates it's supposed to and keeps you alert. The swinging shuffler takes the energy of the first tune and ratchets it up yet another notch for an explosive finale. Or beginning! One of our favorite things about this 12' is that, despite zipping by in a flurry of adrenaline, it can be played back to front and front to back and still have the same effect. Short and sweet. Very sweet.

Wrapping up the summer with a bit of a 90s throwback number by St. David, Fools Jam. The EP opens with the the titual track, a crunchy, crisp deep house burner, and moves on, with 'Night Lovers,' into speedier, smoother floor-filling fodder that's all wiggling, weaving pads and synth leads. The B is a little gentler and more contemplative, but no less melodious; 'Dream It (Emphasi Mix)' is a playful yet gauzy piano-led tune that serenades the listener, and 'La Luna (Spiritual Dub)' is a tranquil ditty that serenely glides off into the distance. A calming, mellow conclusion to a particularly emotive 12-inch.

For nearly three decades, Laurent Garnier has urged himself to create on
the cutting edge of dance music. Beyond the turntables and studio,
Garnier moves between genres and performance techniques with the
aim of continuously challenging himself. Pick any moment from his
musical journey, and it's easy to see this creative momentum: there was
the Hacienda in the late '80s, his time spent in America exploring house,
the techno of his label F Communications and his entry into the realm of
jazz. "I never want to be an old artist playing my old tracks just to please
the older crowd," he says. "I don't think that's healthy." (RA)
Laurent Garnier is now a and undeniable force that is making the planet
dance.
Last summer (2013) Laurent Garnier met with Jerome Derradji over
dinner before his long awaited return at the decks in Chicago for
SmartBar. Longtime friends, Laurent and Jerome talked about the
possibility of releasing some of his new productions under the name
Garnier. A new venture for the veteran Dj and producer, that will see him
release a series of 12's for labels such as 50 Weapons and more....
'AF 0490' is the first release in the series and showcases Garnier at his
best.
Three tracks that pay their respect to the heroes of Trax, Dancemania
and to the Chicago sound they helped create without any misplaced
nostalgia.
'Bang (The Underground Doesn't Stop)' is a dancefloor anthem,
magnificent and pure Chicago circa 1998. 'Boom (Chakolak)' takes you
way back to the Southside with its gritty 'footwork' 909 kicks, snares and
vocal loops, massive! 'Beat (Da BoxX) is a pure Garnier, Dancemania
inspired techno monster. The loop is finally complete, Garnier can now
hop on flight AF 0490 direct from Paris to Chicago to Bang The Box
once more.

After turning heads with their first three releases, Tape Archive's fourth release is its boldest yet: a thrilling five-track traversal across genre boundaries that finds the label occupying a sound all of its own and further identifying it as one of Berlin's most vital new imprints.

Flying high after their successful Watergate 22 compilation, Catz N' Dogz return to deliver eight exclusive tracks from their mix via two EP's showcasing their expert ability to navigate a multitude of different styles. EP #1 commences with Catz 'N Dogz original 'Fire Burning When We Are', a tune that sees them flying solo to create a stunning journey that lands somewhere sonically between Carl Craig and Henrik Schwarz where infectious drums reinforce an ensemble of dramatic harmonies tangling with euphoric melodies. 'Afterglow' follows suit with an attitude infused vocal from Shaun J. Wright laid over a trek into a world where 'Old School' vibes meet a 'New School' plan of attack resulting in an absolute floor filler perfect for any time. Rounding out the EP are remixes from two of the best: Prosumer and Sebo K. Prosumer steps up first to rework 'Fire Burning When We Are' and creates a massive tune with the signature Prosumer touch, evident in the timelessness and maturity of the reimagining. Sebo K in turn hands over a Jackin' remake of 'Afterglow' by staying true to the original by keeping everything as simple as possible, but not simpler.
