„Disco Change“ kicks off with a razor sharp groover, rock solid kicks and plenty of tense synths. Once a big vocal arrives to bring diva qualities and lung busting hooks the whole tune goes to another level and will really blow the roof off.

Purple Disco Machine unveils sophomore album ‘Exotica’ in all of its disco glory.

With the release of his debut LP ‘Soulmatic’ released in 2017 via Sweat It Out, Purple Disco Machine gave us the first glimpse of what we could come to expect from the now world renowned producer. Responsible for a multitude of hit singles from the club world including ‘My House’, with the debut LP also birthing the massive successes of ‘Devil In Me’, and ‘Body Funk’.

Now the formidable producer offers a more intimate side to his artistry, inviting us into the world of his sophomore album ‘Exotica’. The LP pays homage to the 80s and the plethora of artists that inspired him to create and set him on the path of becoming the internationally acclaimed producer he is today. The 14 tracker boasts all the elements of his heartfelt favourites throughout the decade - the synth pop from the UK, Italo disco styles of Moroder, Milan & Munich, the funk of Prince, the R&B electro soul of Luther Vandross & Jam & Lewis, to influences from George Michael, and Quincy Jones. Following through with another mellow jam is the album closer ‘Wanna Feel Like A Lover feat Ed Mac’, which is a true amalgamation of 80s flair even boasting the decade’s trademark sax solo! Moving further outside his contemporary disco template, Tino has teamed up with Ukranian / English duo Bloom Twins on ‘Opposite of Crazy’ colouring their unique blend of alt dark synth pop, with quirky and boisterous squalls of Prince-esque guitar throughout. Followed up with two cuts of rolling house music on track 'Find Love Yourself', the 'Deeper Love Mix' explores Mella Dee’s affinity for the murkier corners of dance music, whilst the original mix is a deep-in-the-dance groover paired with a haunting Little Dragon vocal sample.

Harrison BDP embarks on the sixteenth expedition into the exotic lands of palm trees and blue skies with the ambient and spacey 'Be Like Water' EP for Shall Not Fade sister-label Lost Palms. Expedition sixteen features four jams packed full of dystopian-esque pads, crunchy drum sequences and ambient soundscapes.

The Blessed Madonna has remixed Dua Lipa’s ‘Levitating’ featuring Missy Elliott and Madonna.

This is the first track from ‘Club Future Nostalgia’, an entirely remixed version of Dua Lipa's global #1 album “Future Nostalgia”, created in collaboration with The Blessed Madonna.

After the happily received and critically acclaimed Running Back Mastermix retrospective of Hamburg's seminal Front club by Klaus Stockhausen & Boris Dlugosch, another look at the playlists, hits, classics and unclassics is overdue. Now, the menu is solely set to the nineties - well after Stockhausen's departure and into Dlugosch's prime at said club.
Starting the dance is the sought-after evergreen Deep Introspection. Produced by Rob Mello and Zaki Dee for the legendary Jump Cutz series on their Luxury Service outfit in 1995, it's as ageless as deep house can be and on heavy rotation since its release. Same goes for Agitate It by Body Moods from 1993. Still an insider tip, and touched by the hands of Jazz-N-Groove it wouldn't sound out of place on a Louie Vega tape from that time.
The flip comes with DJ Disciple's Street Experience from 1993 and its Todd-Terry-esque Hide-A-Way. Snare roll, please. Rounding off with two home made co-productions by Boris Dlugosch himself: the remix for U96's Come Together (yes, the one from the submarine-movie-score-sampling techno chart topper Das Boot) and his exclusive edit for VDT Strangest Music. Both proofing the fact that to what seems odd at the beginning (if classic US house is the indicator), can withstand the test of time and even gradually mature. Rmx of famous track “Dance On The Groove And Do The

Italian purveyor of the deep sound Ruff Stuff is dropping another 4 tracker on his homonymous Ruff Stuff Music label.

Italian producer Ruff Stuff - which has already released on labels like Shall Not Fade, Sloth Boogie, Madhouse - returns with a self produced record on his Ruff Stuff Music label.

The EP is a solid mixture of tracks showcasing 2 sides of the producer's sound: the more dancefloor oriented one on the A Side vs the deeper and housier one on the B side.

Each of the tracks expresses in its unique way Ruff's own style and inspiration: the A side is composed by DJ tools, with 'High Club Alive' inspired by French Touch and the deeper 'Badass Groove’.

On the B side you will find more complex arrangements, more brainy tunes, with a definite House and Acid vibe. This is a truly masterful combination of tunes by

30 years ago Dutch trance duo Lex van Coeverden and Rene van der Weyde penned one of dance music’s most distinctive yet underrated hits ‘Waterfall’.

There have been several reincarnations over the years but now it’s the turn of retro remix king Dr. Packer to get to grips with this gem. He stays true to the original, beefing up the groove and adding a late-night pulsating bassline. A fine remix that brings the track bang up to date. The Disco Dandies are also called in. As one would expect, they add an upbeat disco groove with a looped percussive groove, disco stabs and phasey bass line – again the original melodies sit on top perfectly and make this version a winner!

It started with a night out at New York’s Sound Factory - and turned into an obsession, Inner City main man Kevin “Reese” Saunderson and his then manager, Neil Rushton, were at the NY uber house club when The Pressure by The Sounds Of Blackness got its’ debut World play, with the ecstatic response from the crowd meaning it was spun three times in a row.

Nobody was more knocked out than Kevin who vowed there and then to come up with a Detroit answer, much to the delight of Soul mad Rushton, co-owner of the Network label.

The idea of The Reese Project was quickly turned into House Heaven reality as Kevin recruited Detroit vocalist diva Rachel Kapp to record the anthemic Direct Me & The Colour Of Love as the first two singles.

Network made the group a main priority, coming with a whole slew of remixes to complement the original USA mixes on the subsequent album. Three of the most loved Network remixes are on this wonderful timeless 12.

The Dave Lee Joey Negro mix from 1991 is rated by many as one of Network’s finest moments, and maybe Lee’s finest ever “remixed with extra production” epics.
Rushton remembers meeting Lee to collect the remix, and instantly phoning Saunderson proclaiming “you won’t believe this”.

Underground Resistance’s Mike Banks added his magic to the 1991 original mixes of “The Colour Of Love” and the results were so overwhelming great that the idea of subsequent remixes was daunting.but the classic 1994 Network remix by The Playboys flew the flag for U.K. House.

C.J, Mackintosh set the production standards for U.K. Soul filled House and his 1993 remix of “So Deep” - sung by La’Trece - is a gem to be cherished forever and a day.

Network’s passionate crusade to crossover The Reese Project from House Music superstars to Pop success came tantalising close but never quite happened. But the Network remixes are a glorious legacy of House Music’s golden age and three of the very finest are remastered here and presented on one glorious 12.

A predecessor to the esteemed Robert Johnson and a stepping stone for Panorama Bar’s very own nd_baumecker.

Founded by Playhouse masterminds Ata and the late Heiko M/S/O it was a Thursday club night that heavily featured house music as a prescription to the ongoing techno fever. Enamored with the US-American roots of it and all things deep, it not only presented the right records, but also their creators and protagonists. With a string of guest DJs from Robert Hood and Claude Young to Kerri Chandler and Theo Parrish as well as talent from the UK and Europe, it was one of the culture’s hubs at the time.

Here you have its testimony. Selected and mixed by Ata and nd_baumecker, it’s an authentic snapshot of the club’s vibe and spirit, spread over a collectable tape (download included) and a pleasant streaming version, it’s the full dosage. Like Roach Motel confessed: Wild Pitch, I love you.

It’s about time for the first release of this true master of deep jazzy house, Shaka! Shaka has an impressive list of releases, ranging back to the mid 90’s with some raw techno up to now with releases on Local Talk or his own label Vibes and Grooves for some serious deep house. His „Four flowers EP“
has plenty of soul soothing jazz-funk grooves nailed to a deep house beat and you just feel that Shaka is a real musician. And we agree, these 4 tracks are hot ingredients!

Remedy is Basement Jaxx’s joyous debut album from 1999. It was one of the most assured, propul-sive full-lengths the dance world had seen since Daft Punk’s Homework. Scottish DJ Ewan McVicar is tipped for big things, having found support in the likes of Annie Mac and Fatboy Slim. After a stellar year crowned with a release on the hallowed Nervous Records, he makes his debut on Shall Not Fade's "Basement Tracks" series with five explosive earworms.

Amnocairn EP collects the most classic sounds from the dancefloor and melts them together, styles blending throughout songs to keep listeners on their toes and dancing. The title track is a sweeping marriage of insistent house piano and washy dub techno synths, leading into the sugary, hardcore "1001 Freestyle" that calls back to early Lone tracks. Then one for the after hours crew, "Ha Mez", a syncopated 303 techno roller.

McVicar keeps the party atmosphere close across the B-side, flexing laser-cut synth arps with a dark, big-room edge on "Stu Boy", before crowning the EP with a gorgeous sun soaked party number "See U Thru My Eyes", jazzy inflected house with a 90s aesthetic. Next up on Toolroom’s 4-track vinyl sampler series is a tasty collab from label founder, Mark Knight and dance music royalty, Armand van Helden, a fresh new edit of a revered club weapon from Julio Navas, Gustavo Bravetti and David Amo, Kiss FM regular, majestic and Sydney-native Alex Preston.

Up first label boss, Mark Knight enlists Grammy nominated Armand van Helden for their debut collaboration, 'The Music Began To Play'. Kicking off with a hard-hitting house groove and electrified bassline that drives the record, before dropping into the track's golden moment and sampling the 1979 classic disco cut 'I Don't Need No Music' by T.J.M; a gem of a record that encapsulates both Mark and Armand’s love for classic cuts.

Next up, a record that became a cult hit of the underground and one that defines the true sound of Toolroom's heritage, Julio Navas, Gustavo Bravetti and David Amo’s 'Raw'. Refreshed for 2022, we see one of France's hottest exports, Tony Romera, deliver a high energy, club focused remix of 'Raw', bringing the classic club record back to dancefloors and sound systems across the globe!

Up next is another heater from Majestic, who debuts on Toolroom with ‘Annie’. Recapping one of the hottest summers on record, Majestic embodies the Balearic, Ibizan heat, sampling Kid Creole & the Coconuts 1982 hit, 'Annie I’m Not Your Daddy', turning a slice of calypso / disco, into a club ready record for the dancefloor. From the brass melody to the hooky guitar riff, majestic lays down his signature style with a Groove Armada-esque vibe throughout.

Rounding things off is label favourite, Alex Preston with his unique blend of 4 to the floor dance music and live funk guitar riffs that have swept through clubs, moving feet, and bringing those feel-good vibes. Ticking all the right boxes on this one, 'Hunching' kicks off with its infectious groove and bassline, throwing in some lush strings, guitar flits and an 80's inspired saxophone break that adds some serious flavour to the record.

After the mixtapes that talk about iconic personalities of our time, two albums "Aller-Retour" and "Minuit" that revisit the 70's and 80's, one of which is certified as a Golden Record, the three music lovers, always curious to invent hybrid formats fed by their passion, launched in 2020 their label BE Records. The concept? In a logic of talent scouts and in the continuity of their mixtapes, the idea is once again to promote their musical favourites. The whole thing will be brought together in an annual compilation.

Unveiled on December 11, 2020, the first indie pop and nu-disco compilation, soberly called 001, was a great success, with a limited edition of vinyls quickly sold out, and more than 2 million plays on the platforms. The 2nd edition, like Bon Entendeur's 2nd album, will be divided into 2 parts, a Day part (pop, indie) and a Night part (house, disco).

And on the side B two remixes of Aprende mi Tumbao in charge of the best DJs today. The first is made by Andy Grey (resident DJ of Gladys Palmera) & Desi Calatayud (producer and sound designer); and the second, by Tiraya (selector, producer and percussionist).

Along with fan favourites, the set also features several rare remix recordings that debuted commercially last year. Labelowner Kastil pulled out the big guns and got soul notes usual Fulbert on one record with himself and the ever so amazing Malin Genie who has been making waves through the whole of europe with his thumping sound. Fulbert, Kastil and Malin delivered 3 excellent productions that will perfectly fit into one peaktime set.

Last but not least, the excentric Jefferson Belmondo makes an appearance With a disco'ish anthem called Booty Groove. The title kind off reveals where he's coming from as Jefferson might be unknown for most, on the streets of Miami he is a bonafide legend. After spending most of his life in shady motels and as a DJ in extravagantnightclubs, Jefferson finally took out his old DAT tapes and got this track to Kastil through a mutual friend.

All and all, Many Shades of Soul Notes Vol.1 is a peaktime record that is above all meant for clubplay.
