Opposites attract: that's perhaps the first thing that comes to mind when listening to Niklas Worgt and Eva Padberg's new album, Sweet Nothings. The pair, better known as Dapayk & Padberg, join the Stil vor Talent family for their third full-length effort, a natural decision after the success of Dapayk's recent The Little Things You Do and Let Go EPs. Similar to their previous LP oeuvre, as well as Dapayk's solo work, one is simply astonished by the diversity, intertextuality, coherence and playfulness of the end result, something that must be attributed to the experienced duo's wide-ranging set of influences.

'Cut Me Down' was the bi-product of this year's IMS Conference in Ibiza where Sasha was assumed the honour of creating the 2011 IMS Anthem in conjunction with Burn Studios. The track was then handed over to Layo & Bushwacka for the masterclass in remixing. Their stunning mix appears on the flipside with full L&B signature riffs, basslines and bouncy drums.
Sasha's first vocal track in over 10 years features the haunting vocals of New York based Swedish vocalist, Krister Linder over Sasha's hypnotic blend of epic, mind bending drums, gentle arpeggiators, combined with solid bass lines which forms this extremely worthy return to production on his new label, Last Night On Earth. This release also marks a return for Sasha in solo production mode. On previous releases including Coma, Who Killed Sparky, and the legendary Involver reworkings, Sasha has been working with his collective of Charlie May, Duncan Forbes and Barry Jamieson, however with time well spent on his own in his New York studio, Sasha has created this summer masterpiece.

'Last Night On Earth' will be Sasha's home for supporting exciting new electronic music talent and his new solo productions. Yes, there will be more to come, and as ever, the wait is most certainly worthwhile.

It got its debut last week on BBC Radio1 and we are hearing it is going to get airplay on Pete Tong or Annie Macs show in the next couple of weeks. It is already getting support from
Luke Fair, Mark Farina, Danny Krivit, Francois K and about another 20 big hitters and lots of other radio play. We think it could be a summer anthem if it is heard in the right places.

Were you able to touch them - to render them tangible and actually trace the rhythms in YACHT's 'I Walked Alone' - the lines would form steep hills and sudden cliffs that rise and drop off, again and again, at steep, sharp angles. The wiry funk and itchy bass move like a controlled spasm, convulsive and itchy, until the breakdown, when the nervous tension gets released in a series of cowbell clunks and a guitar solo that leaks out like a slow moving electric current. On this vinyl only collection of remixes, Parisian duo Get A Room!, aka Rove Dogs and Jeff Masson, massage out the herk and jerk, making for a more relaxed and aurally warm take. The sound of things is far housier here - and more pop, in the very best way - owing to synths where there previously were none and angles newly bent and refashioned into smooth, circling cycles of disco-infused sound. And there's more from Jacques Renault, who contributes a remix both with and without vocals. The New York City dance music stalwart takes his time building to a plateau of perfectly paced beats and a wall of recurring dream(y) house rhythms. This is about the legendary company Casablanca Records&Filmworks from Hollywood, who during the second half of the 70s literally skyrocketed and played an essential part in shaping modern disco music. Besides scoring some mega successes with their famous leading acts Donna Summer, Kiss und Village People, Casablanca revolutionized the development of electronic dance music like no other label.
