Extra Dry originally approached Frankie Knuckles and Eric Kupper to produce a Director's Cut remix on this record early in 2014. In his own words Eric explains how this mix came about...
I have been regularly playing the original version of this amazingly beautiful record since I first received it last year and I was originally scheduled to do this mix with my musical partner-in-crime, Frankie Knuckles. After his untimely passing, I still really wanted to remix this record - in the Director's Cut style we carefully honed over the years - with his guidance from above. 'Anders Trentemøller transcends genres ... with a cinematic scope', the NME once summarized and he is known for the 'captivating complexity' of his songs and 'melancholic contradictions' in both songwriting and sounddesign. It's been a long and exciting way from his debut long player 'The Last Resort' (2006), through projects like 'The Trentemøller Chronicles' or 'Remixed/Reworked' to his second album 'Into The Great Wide Yonder' (2010).
The musical evolution of the Danish musical mastermind never was a linear 'logical progression' as it is rather characterised by twists and turns and lately maybe most importantly influenced by the development into a fully fledged live band, that meanwhile toured the globe a couple of times with huge success.
With the arrival of Trentemøller's third longplayer 'Lost', which is due for release in September 2013 on Trentemøller's label In My Room, it seems as if everything he's done in the past was destined for leading to the new album. The new album breathes all aspects of the electronic years as well as the guitar driven second album - in a fresh, light-footed way with a wealth of fantastic songs, incredibly well produced.
Now we are happy and proud to present the first single taken off the new album. 'Never Stop Running' is an empathetic, personal, evolving song, that perfectly melts with the expressive vocals of The Drums singer Jonny Pierce with that beautiful melancholia that warms your heart.

The vibe of the song is captured in the video by director and cinematographer Frederik Jacobi. Both the song and the video comprehend the question 'Who Am I'. While Trentemøller's song carefully carves out different shades and moods centered around the main motif, Jacobi took his camera to Los Angeles and used it to 'listen' to people and to create a visual space for the song, while the cover image appears courtesy of Asger Carlsen.
'Never Stop Running' will be performed live for the first time on 29th May at the O2 Arena in London when Trentemøller will be supporting the Depeche Mode concert.

First solo ep for long time Red Axes collaborator Abrao. Brazilian born Abraham Levin, moved fro Sao Paolo to Tel Aviv in the late 90s, after a wild career as leader of the 80s alternative/rock n roll band "Kafka". He met Red Axes while they were still a punk band, and actually produced their 1st and last album. The tables turn, and now Red Axes are producing for him. Laying his vocals on some of RA most know tracks such as : Waiting for a surprise, Camino de Dreyfus, Sabor, Balma and many more. It is time for the world to know the genesis called Abrao. Give him a warm welcome, as he really deserves it.

Originally released on the mighty Y Records in 1982, this single by Disconnection was a mutant disco cover version of a song from Rodgers and Hammerstein's 1949 musical, South Pacific which was made into a blockbuster film in 1958.

An odd choice of a song to cover Well, something was in the air back in '82 as at almost exactly the same time the Disconnection record was released Captain Sensible covered Happy Talk' from South Pacific and had a UK number 1 with it. I'd like to think he got the idea after hearing Bali Ha'i' but that would be pure speculation. What I do know is that even though the Disconnection record made barely a ripple at the time it is by far the superior record. Vocals are by Angela Jaeger

Long sought after and going for stupid money on Discogs, as a long time Y Records freak I am very honoured to have been given permission to make this curiously great record available again and to give it a home in the Optimo Music Disco Plates series. Dick O'Dell's Y Records released so many great records - The Slits, The Pop Group, PIgbag, Sun Ra, Pulsallama, Shriekback, Maximum Joy, The Tesco Bombers and Mouth amongst others - and this one is up there with the best of them.

It is released in the original configuration, Radio Mix, US Discomix and UK Discomix versions alongside the faux exotica delight that is the Angela Jaeger penned Aaaah'. It comes in a shrink-wrapped black disco bag with a 12' x 12' insert featuring the original front sleeve artwork.

Brooding, delicate earworms, pulsating electronic beats and a coolly honed falsetto: these are the building blocks of Gundelach's debut EP. Ever since the DJ- turned artist left the booth for the studio his life has become very different. He has gone from recording in his bedroom to playing for crowds of 1500+ in the span of a year. His singles have topped Hype Machine, garnered massive radio play in Norway and seen him hailed as one of Norway's rising stars by the likes of Spotify, Tidal and Apple Music. A collection of songs he wrote and demoed with his friend and band mate PålUlvikRokseth were sent to producer Joel Ford, which formed the basis of his self-titled debut EP. The day Kai flew to New York to produce and record the EP with Joel he learned of the tragic passing of a close friend, leading to the songs being tinged with melancholy, introspection and beauty.

The EP is a six song window into Gundelach, a producer influenced by the likes of Aphex Twin and Boards of Canada but also a songwriter taken by the lyrics of Elliot Smith. It is a promising beginning for an artist at the early stages of what is poised to be a long and illustrious career. Co-produced by Kai and Joel Ford (Oneohtrix Point Never, Cyril Hahn, Com Truise) and engineered/mixed by Al Carlson (Tim Hecker, Ariel Pink) it is an organically composed electronic pop record that feels both vintage and contemporary. Gundelach may easily draw comparisons to many modern artists but his sound and his vision are wholly his own.

The great Mike D (Beastie Boys), and the over-playful guitarist Matthieu Chedid, are also some of the prestigious names we can mention. 'Close your eyes, remember the body you've just seen, then undress it.' Dance Mania present the official 12' re-release of one of the all-time great Chicago house anthems, '7 Ways' by Hercules a.k.a. Marshall Jefferson featuring original mixes and brand new versions by ghetto house don, Jammin' Gerald.

One of the first tracks to kick-start the Dance Mania label in 1986, '7 Ways' is a sizzling, hedonistic dancefloor classic featuring Jefferson's ominous vocals directing the dancefloor to get intimate and jack in seven different ways over hard and minimal beats and bass. The track set the blueprint for the Dance Mania sound at the time, a raw alternative to other label contemporaries like Trax and DJ International: 'The early sound was a bit edgier and more underground,' remembers Dance Mania's Ray Barney. 'It was the music I was being given by the producers and it was made primarily for the dancefloor so we didn't really get much radio airplay at the time.'

The track also helped to launch Marshall Jefferson's career, appearing hot on the heels of his huge hit 'The House Music Anthem (Move Your Body)' from the same year, 1986. Two years earlier, starting from scratch, Jefferson had blagged a credit line and bought up equipment including a Yamaha QS-1 sequencer and a TB-303 bass synth: 'I played all the instruments on all my records but I wasn't really a musician, I would just play stuff at 40bpm, would stack notes and learned how to do the timing so it would sound natural when I'd speed it up from 40bpm to 120bpm.'

This exclusive new edition of '7 Ways' is remastered for 12' and features Marshall Jefferson's main vocal mix and Li'L Louis' club remix featured on the original Dance Mania 12'. Harder new mixes come courtesy of another Dance Mania legend from the '90s ghetto era, Jammin' Gerald.

Portable is Alan Abrahams, a South African born artist and producer who is also a celebrated live act. Emerging more than fifteen years ago with a sound that marries real electronic soul with deep moods and abstract grooves, he is someone who has released his minimal wares on cult labels like Perlon and Live At Robert Johnson, as well as his own Süd Electronic. Always experimenting with rhythm and imbuing his music with a wide world of influences, this latest work that proves that once more. Portable's music reached a new level of exposure when the 2014 track Surrender' received a Best New Track' designation from Pitchfork, and appeared in re-edited form on DJ Koze's critically acclaimed DJ-Kicks mix (named the #1 mix of 2015 by Resident Advisor). Portable signed to !K7, and is to release his sixth full length artist album through the label in August 2016. The 11 track affair is his most personal yet, and as such is a self-titled work that features plenty of his own vocal work, as well as some choice collaborations. The first 12 single sees Deetron and Bodycode deliver remixes alongside exclusive track 'Balanese Nights' that doesn't feature on the full length album.

Likewise our debut edition, the second vinyl contains one original and the attached remix. But wether you re in love with the summer vibes or not, in connection with music there has always been a special kind of tune you would want to hear, when the sun shines bright and you stay outs- ide the whole night. When Kalyma played us the SL002, we felt like - Sacrosanct might be the tune who does the job for this purpose. Teaming up with his roommate, the very talented singer KAIND, Kalyma produced a catchy vocal tune with a lot of hands up potential.
Also for this edition we re very happy to welcome our Remixers Leman & Dieckmann, two uprising artists from Copenhagen, Denmark.

The Original tune starts with a solid dry groove. Kalyma adds several little details to the beat me- anwhile atmospheric synths are fading in and claps are creating a strong backbeat. After a couple more bars the main synthline is slowly introduced and tension rises up until KAIND s vocals kick in. At that very moment the magic of Sacrosanct is in full effect. Subsequently the vocals lead to ano- ther drop, which helps to label Sacrosanct as an overall - Hands Up Tune .
Leman & Dieckmann approached the remix with a rough straight forward beat. The percussive tune gains a lot of energy as if they thought of: - Give energy to the people and they bring it back . Well, we ve seen it happen on the dance floor. With the use of the main synthline and the vocals it definitely adheres to the Original, but powerful drops ensure that this one is going to be straight up peak time material.

London producer Sam Gordon burst onto the 90's Jungle scene as part of the seminalKemet Crew and Tearin Vinyl stables. He's best known for his remix of Human Being's 'The Box Reopens', which he made when just 18 years old. During the 2000's his production shifted into Breaks as one half of C83 (Class of 83) with releases such as 'Back in the Day', 'Neptune' and 'Twisted Logic' as classic productions of the era. He has recently returned as a solo producer, focussing on various flavours of House music with his Two Decades EP (Five Fold Records) receiving strong support from the likes of Sinden & Dj Zinc. Fresh for 2016 with the launch of his Urban Habitat Recordings, Missing's new collection of productions are already finding support from such luminaries including Carl Craig, Kissy Sell Out, M.A.N.D.Y. Jamie George is a key figure of the UK bass and house scene as an in-demand vocalist, producer and DJ. His soulful voice and highly original delivery has brought a special ingredient to many productions from Roska, Cause & Affect, Pete Graham, Groovyman and his own original works. Acclaimed songstress Heidi Vogel is the lead singer of the world renowned Cinematic Orchestra. Her distinctive Jazzy tones contributed largely to the West London Broken Beat scene and also she's also made various collaborations with Dance music producers Danism, Liquid People and Funk Butcher, among others.

A singer and songwriter now based in London, Astral T may be best known in recent years for her vocal work on house labels like Hudd Traxx and Smoke City Music. Next up is her own imprint. According to the artist herself, "There have been many suitors along the way and I'm still looking for the one and while I'm still looking there will be many more affairs to come." To that end, the first Astral Love Affair single, "Divided Attention," will be a collaboration with fellow UK artist Moodymanc, backed by a remix from Berlin producer Alex Agore.

These days house music is often about a 4/4 beat and a catchy groove. The idea is to do something simple to which you can get your groove and, and not so much about listening. The borders of electronic dance music makes room for the hypnotic beats, the driving grooves, but not always the melodic universes. Leman & Dieckmann have been making music for several years, both together and apart, but almost all of their music was driven mainly by the beat. But both having an urge to discover the dynamics of melodic synths and melodic percussion they decided to make an album. They agreed that the album had to tell a story, and like so many times before in music the topic became love. The story they try to tell through the music on the album 'Takes Two' is the story of a breakup, the denial of the need of love, and the discover of the fact that often in life it takes two, to be happy. The album features the Swedish/Danish jazz singer TYRA on the groovy house track 'Movement' and the percussion based Balearic inspired track 'The Meeting'. Also the title track 'Takes Two' is featured by the Danish singer Ms. O, who, on top of beautiful Rhodes chords and minimal drums, manages to tell the story of sincerely need and unrequited love. 'The Stranger', a track about the autodidactic act of a one night stand as a part of moving on, is featured by the very talented Danish singer Julie Christiansen. The album, which consist of 10 original tracks, ranges from the deepest atmospheric Deep House to groovy Tech House to old-school trancy house. 'Takes Two' definitely differs from the masses, and bring a breath of fresh air to the circulating sound of 2014 .

Candi Staton has legacy beyond compare. Klyne reveal their new single Closer, a perfectly crafted and executed slice of electronic-pop. "Closer is about someone going to the extreme in order to reach their lifelong desire, and at the same time coping with the fear that their fate might already be decided. One of life's greater beauties is when a person breaks free of these psychological limitations. At first it looks like naive stubbornness, and the feelings of doubt never entirely go away. Stereofysh's simmering spoken-word production 'There Yet' is transformed into a classic Robag Wruhme delicacy. Minimalist sound design and a heavy kick drum establish that fact, forming the foundation as the remix evolves from tracky and angular to warm and deep. It is yet another Robag masterpiece of fragility and functionality. Perennial indie rock favourites Tocotronic's masterful dream-pop number 'Warte Auf Mich Auf Dem Grund Des Swimmingpools' takes flight and soars via Die Vögel's reinterpretation. It is thick with atmosphere and drama from start to finish, as Rick McPhail's vocal's oppose the Hamburg duo's glitchy sonics and sleek production style. This is sophisticated slow burn deep tech-house, designed for dark and smoky late-night moments.

These days house music is often about a 4/4 beat and a catchy groove. The idea is to do something simple to which you can get your groove and, and not so much about listening. The borders of electronic dance music makes room for the hypnotic beats, the driving grooves, but not always the melodic universes. Leman & Dieckmann have been making music for several years, both together and apart, but almost all of their music was driven mainly by the beat. But both having an urge to discover the dynamics of melodic synths and melodic percussion they decided to make an album. They agreed that the album had to tell a story, and like so many times before in music the topic became love. The story they try to tell through the music on the album 'Takes Two' is the story of a breakup, the denial of the need of love, and the discover of the fact that often in life it takes two, to be happy. The album features the Swedish/Danish jazz singer TYRA on the groovy house track 'Movement' and the percussion based Balearic inspired track 'The Meeting'. Also the title track 'Takes Two' is featured by the Danish singer Ms. O, who, on top of beautiful Rhodes chords and minimal drums, manages to tell the story of sincerely need and unrequited love. 'The Stranger', a track about the autodidactic act of a one night stand as a part of moving on, is featured by the very talented Danish singer Julie Christiansen. The album, which consist of 10 original tracks, ranges from the deepest atmospheric Deep House to groovy Tech House to old-school trancy house. 'Takes Two' definitely differs from the masses, and bring a breath of fresh air to the circulating sound of 2014 .

himself and they convince on one hand by his unique voice,
but also recognizable basslines and synth sounds.

Even Nikola Gala, who already exhibited his talent on labels
like Rekids, Clap Your Hands or Plastic City leaves his mark in a
remix and confdents with an unmistakable sound of rib-ratt-
ling bass and Detroit-like synths, which will bring the dacefoor
to the quake.
