Smallville Records celebrate their 10th anniversary with the 3rd and 4th part of the - Ways' Series. It started in 2011 with Twentyfour Ways (Smallville 24)- a Various Artists 4 track-12' with timeless music only. It continued in 2013 with Smallville 35 (Thirtyfive Ways)- same concept, but different artists. And now it's finally time for Smallville 44 and 45 (Fortyfour and Fortyfive Ways)- wonderful tracks of Smallville's favourite producers and family members. Introducing L'Amour Fou, a new project by Move D and his friends Benoit Bouquin (BB) and Marco Wollenberg, both from Taipeh. Another newbie in the Smallville Camp is Kornél Kovacs. We hooked up and invited Kornél to play over in Hamburg last year for a Smallville Party and Space Jam is kind of the result, which we are very happy about. And Juniper is finally back with one of their rare gems- after the split-12' with Arnaldo (Smallville 30) and various played gigs together, mostly at Stattbad, Berlin- it was about time to come together again. We welcome another Romanian act Vinyl Speed Adjust. No need for introduction, this 2 guys have done enough amazing productions and releases on different and much respected labels around. if you have been to Sunwaves this year you probably have heard tracks from this ep played by Petre Inspirescu and others.

A year after his last 12 inch release Here We Are / That's Desire EP and few months after a CD release Hamburg Süd/Nee IYaow eow eow featuring experimental field recordings and vocal improvisations, Wolfgang Tillmans returns with a new extended play on his own label Fragile. Heute Will Ich Frei Sein sets an energetic tone for the 5 track EP that leads straight on the dancefloor, a space that Tillmans has observed and discussed from various angles throughout his artistic career. While Los Angeles based experimental noise project Wreck and Reference's beats and 808 staccato claps instantly create a hedonistic dance moment, it is Tillmans' lyrics that contrast the simplicity of this message. Tillmans knows that clubs have always been spaces mirroring constant crisis of 'western' societies towards minorities, race and gender. In the light of current political events, it is the singers' nod that informs us about the precarity and necessity of such spaces as no contradiction. Completely Changed and On My Own, Tillmans and his long-term collaborators Jay Pluck, Kyle Combs and Tim Knapp return to more song based recordings but with a stronger approach on synthesiser soundscapes. On My Own finds Tillmans again singing simple lines over a staggering pop production that can be read as a comment on nightlife as well as the artist emerging into a more mature stage in life. It is this ambiguity that marks Tillmans' writing and constant striving for variation. Almost last, the extended play features a remix of Fast Lane, originally released on 2016 / 1986 EP - tracing back to Tillmans' first musical steps with collaborator Bernd Lessmann in 1986.

Following up their highly acclaimed debut collaboration 'Last Day on Earth' (L.D.O.E.), the trio from Berlin took it literally and decided to leave this planet's orbit behind. An introductory Epilogue A1.'Prologue (Don't Panic)' sets the tone for the journey to come.Harmoniously but pulsing the traveler leaves the earths gravitational force to reach the title track A2. 'Moon' . an emotional touching and growing Deep House art piece. B. 'Point of no Return' at last leaves the bounding limitations of contemporary club music behind by exploring a completely distinct soundscape, even referencing a certain 80s pop vibe. Ion Ludwig has amassed an incredible back catalogue over more than a decade exploring the outer reaches of stripped down dancefloor aesthetics. Crucial releases on labels like Ugold Series, Be Chosen, Eklo and many more have all fed into his distinctive identity - a producer who packs a lot of subtle detail and emotionally gripping moods into predominantly minimal productions. In recent years, one of his closest partnerships has been with the iconic Trelik, and now building on the promise of two strong EPs comes a double pack brimming with the invention and flair that has typified Ludwig's unique appeal since the beginning.

After several solo releases and co-productions for liebe*detail over the last 10 years, Matthias Meyer and Patlac will finally share a split 12" side by side.

With the upcoming LIEBE045 to be out on vinyl October 27th Patrick and Matthias will show us again their vision
of emotional house music which works at home as well as on the dancefloors all over the world.

What began as a series of intimate events, Default is now adopting a new project in the form of wax. Its introductory VA release showcases Exander, Rojid, and Imbue; three unwavering streams of talent whose previous productions receive support by the likes of Barac, Praslesh, and Arapu among others.

It starts with label head Exander's "Confuso", an acoustic playground of mischievous bass and dynamic, multi-layered vocals. Its counterpart "Susano" is a relentless groove infused with crisp percussive elements and the occasional interstellar drive-by. Imbue seals our appetite on the B side with "twotwentyeight", a sultry harmony of the soft and the abstract, complemented by their signature live guitar.

Kapture presents itself as Mihai Pol offers May I Have This Dance EP' as the first release of the label, an invitation into an eloquent electrifying tango, which we meet on side A. Pol's distinguishing characteristic flow convey an exquisite passion in the air - a passion for sensations - which will leave you languid.
Side B of this EP leads us on a journey through a labyrinth of hypnotic sounds. A maze whose doleful sound excites the imagination and in just one moment you doth cease to be and you will only feel. Your steps will be guided by it through the ecstasy of happiness that dominates you.
We get hurriedly seduced by Moonlit's wild recklessness of gaiety from its composition. A strange touch of pathos and desire floods your senses. Amidst this extraordinary journey which is narrowed to one perfect point of colored joy you are left with no other option than to simply reply Yes' and start dancing. In the last few years, Suolo haven’t stopped contributing to the volatile and vibrant scene of electronic music of Romania and over the borders of it, shaping his productions into something that is now distinctive to a trained ear. What’s good about him? His love for compressed bass-lines? His ability to intrigue? We think both of them + even more. The release in case is nothing than a proof of that.



From what we know, both Tarantism and Mirror Dance do not belong to 2019 or 2018 either. We’ve got our hands on some earlier creations of his which with no surprise are actual until today and are definitely representatives of his. A side outsets with an opaque bass, giving a long enough moment of adjustation for the listener therefore avoiding any discomfort as to the development of the piece in the future. Not too long after the the low tones set in, a strand of claps come out, clearly indicating the direction of the piece. Everything cited above is reverberating in a melodic crawl way of atmospheric provenience. We found ourselves in a safe-house somewhere far away from the day-to-day game.



Mirror Dance is a composition of certainty and very self driven dynamic, layers blending one with another, creating new beginnings within the same partition. He crafts the elements into an uptempo string like rhythm, bouncing from one of the side of the room to another with absolute easiness. His usual accentuated drum line is present but it’s not the front of this piece as Suolo is actually leading the morphosis of the chantic side. Ingredients that seemed to be pointy and acute at the beginning are getting to be a part of warmly saturated and harmonious open space wander around.

Paolo Rocco touches down on the PIV Limited series and follows up two succesfull previous releases that were both sold out quickly.

Paolo once again shows his diversity and delivers us two very strong tracks on the A-side with "On Me" as stand-out track.
Also on this killer package you will find a rare minimalistic remix from Makcim & Levi and to complete the B-side we've got Toman showing why he is a man to watch.

This time Mr Raoul K is teaming up with fellow producer Mapiko Mweya. They shift Mr Raoul K's usually blend of real westafrican instruments and modern electronic clubsounds towards the electronic soundscape. With the vocals of B'Utiza, they take us on a rollercoaster ride into an urban concrete jungle very reminiscent of the nineteennineties. Voluminous baselines, westafrican drums, irie layers of swirling sounds, long buildups, occasional breakdowns – delivered with a gritty touch.
Mr Raoul K's mix keeps the atmosphere dense while Mapiko goes for a more airy approach - with either mix keeping its rolling groove up until the end. Dance through the darkness until the sunlight creeps through the cellar windows.

With this second release Caim continues to push their layered and soothing groovy dance-floor palette to the next level. Constantly playing with the elements that are slipping in and out of focus, haunting yet hopeful, their sound galvanizes heads in the club. This is for that late-night dreamy state of mind while dancing into the early morning hours.

Well, this looks very much like a series and - spoiler alert - Riding For A Fall EP is the second installment in a
trilogy.

With a BPM crossing the 120 line on 2 out of 3 tracks, there's little doubt that this second 12' is also meant to be
played in a club environment. The 9:37 min long Voices sprawls over the whole A-side. Like many productions
stamped 'D.K.', the structure is linear only in appearance: it winds up and down between fantasized exotic
landscapes, digital plug-ins mimicking 'far east' instruments that are barely recognizable. It gets even snakier with
the Samurai Showdown-inspired Shoubuari (Battle): pixel swords brushing past our ears, martial drumming and
menacing synths (D.K., were you the kind of kid who owned a Neo Geo) - it's pretty obvious that we're in the
world of SNK's legendary fighting game.
Things calm down with Riding For A Fall: less button-mashing, more concentration as we're witnessing the sacred
martial art known as Street Fighter's quarter circles... But enough with these video game metaphors! No need to
be a pro-gamer to enjoy this piece of music. It's sad & slow house music with a cinematographic quality - and,
perhaps, the most moving moment in this series of 12'.

Acid Pauli and Nico Stojan's label Ouïe proudly presents the original film score and soundtrack album for the new German moive 'Es war einmal Indianerland' which translates into 'Once upon a time in Indian Country' which is centered around brand new songs by Acid Pauli. On this vinyl version you'll find a fine selection of new workls by Acid Pauli that are taken from the soundtrack. Imagine you're 17 living in the tower blocks at the outskirts. The air is glimmering: summer. The night Jackie stole your heart. At the outdoor pool. Her red hair. Imagine how sparks emit out of happiness. Bang! Your world is unhinged: Zöllner choked his wife. Edda, the 21 year old from the video store is chasing you. You enter the ring with buddy Kondor. Again and again you think you saw an Indian. And at showdown an almost biblical thunderstorm arises. Is that what it feels like - the adventure of being young A 17-year-old boy is at the odds with himself and the world. Pretty normal. But the coming-of-age-story Es war einmal Indianerland' is not normal: it's exceptional. Thrilling. Imaginative. The narration is virtousic, just as the attendant nominated novel by Nils Mohl who also wrote the screenplay - in collaboration with Max Reinhold. A psychedelic city-western ! Charged with pictures full of symbolism that are composed into a hypnotic whirl by Ilker Çatak - who won the Max-Ophüls price and who has been distinguished with the student Oscar for ' Sadakat . Another highlight : the outstanding cast.

Baertaub's newest release 'Wolke' welcomes you with 'Bazalt', a very tight and sharply shaped minimal techno track designed to awake your senses one by one from head to toe with small noisey cuts and bits that show their faces at certain times to draw a sonic geometrical map. Next up is a relatively darker track 'Rather than Rain' which again features those alien bits and is enriched with an unexpected and grande synth melody that somehow fits perfectly with the dark mood and alienating sound of the track. B side opens with the ZTRL remix of Bazalt which focuses on that witty geometrical face of the track and lifts it to an upper level with slowly building beats and hypnotizing loops. The EP closes off with the title track, 'Wolke', which follows a very interesting trajectory: A tense sounding chord line is softened by a groovy bass and dubby touches and percussive samples which in the end provides an unexpectedly feel good ending to a positively minimal EP.

2019 is mule musiq’s 15 years anniversary. we’re going to release twelve 12inchs with our friend artists and stefan marx make the collectable artwork. eighth release is a japanese brightest hope iori’s debut release on mule. we wanted to add new japanese artist for this anniversary release series, then we remembered we liked his release on phonica. a side is his trademark deep hypnotic house tune and b side is more dubby and psychedelic. hope you enjoy!

Next up on Francis Harris's newly-founded record label Kingdoms comes something very special from Brooklyn-based film composer, songwriter, producer and performer Léah Lazonick. Movimenti della Luna D'Oro ('Movements of the Moon of Gold' translated from Italian) is a four-track EP from one of the most exciting musicians and performers around - a beautiful quartet of contemporary classical music with a twist. Lazonick is something of a polymath, having composed and conducted orchestral and electronic scores for short films and commercials as well as being a classically-trained pianist. Lazonick is also a connoisseur of analog synths and vintage drum machines, and will release a second EP focussing on these passions during the course of 2018. Here we are treated to three luscious works for piano and string quartet, written for a one-off performance at Studio OFF Interarts, an art gallery in Montreal. The piece was performed in a forest-like immersive environment, and was originally called In a Forest (A Piece in Three Movements). Lazonick performed the piano parts along with a string quartet she had assembled for the performance/recording. Lazonick explains: 'As opposed to most of the other songs/compositions I have written, I have no concrete sentimental story behind writing this piece. The motivation, inspiration and overall idea behind composing it was of a more technical nature; attempting to relay the music in my head at its purest form, without any compromises, by primarily making use of melodic and harmonic dissonances whilst still keeping the content captivating, musical and continuous.

003 is en route and third time is definitely a charm for the Entity crew. Monika Ross heads this resident's EP with a combo purely for the dance-floor - 'Ever After' receiving some wonderful remix treatment from Dutch maestro Julian Alexander to cap off round 3 for the London label.

Sublee from Romania draws an inspiring sonic vision with this colorful debut on Meander. He already released a well received longplayer on Rareshs respected label Metereze in 2016. Now, the leading theme track Irealis plays tender sound scapes with beautiful melodies reminiscent to John Beltrans work on Peacefrog from the golden 90s. Continuum goes into a deep Rhadoo-esque rhythmic mind-space, while Electica takes you on an long, intelligent dancefloor journey to other dimensions.

Midland's Graded sub-label returns with a four-track various artists EP spanning techno, minimal and deep house. Otik's contribution, on the other hand, skews towards UK bass.

DJ Deep's Deeply Rooted label once again spotlights rising French talent Marina Trench for the second instalment of 'Signature featuring remixes from the boss and Hugo LX. Arriving on Deeply Rooted in March with the slick sounding 'Signature EP1', since then Trench has debuted at Rex Club where she played alongside Kerri Chandler, further bolstering her rising reputation as one of the Parisian scene's most exciting names. She now returns to Deeply Rooted bringing another instalment of classy House music - perfectly suited to the respected label's aesthetic. She shows off her knack for jazzy keys on the lively, raw-edged 'Thema Urbain' which oozes late night soul and effortlessly intimate house vibes. The equally excellent 'Ahead' is a surging house cut with well-crafted synth stabs fleshing out an off balance groove while a twanging bass riffs props things up from below. It's perfectly propulsive but has a real sense of heart. The third sublime original is 'Navigo', a bottomless track with splashy hi hats and suggestive string stabs up top. A rasping bassline brings texture to the smooth grooves as they keep rushing over you to make this another fresh and original offering from Trench. Remixing 'Ahead' is Hugo LX, who cruises from downtempo beats to soulful electronic sounds on the likes of Balance and NDATL Muzik. His classy version is a dubbed out classic with a musical bassline tumbling down the scales as you're sunk ever deeper into his pillowy pads. Deep himself then steps up to flip 'Navigo' into a driving deep techno number that surges on soaring synth smears and prickly percussion. This EP is set to take Trench to the next level and confirms she is one of 2019's brightest new stars.
