North South are channeling the early 90s with this sprightly new release from label co-founder Henry Hyde. There's a clue in the title "I Heard You Like To Squelch" - the acidic synth line underpinning the track is certainly one to whip out the gum boots for, but it's also lifted by bright and hopeful string pads straight from the Motor City blueprint. "My Function" is a playful track with more snappy synth plays and a catchy earworm vocal hook. "Sick Rick" has a more minimal outlook, but there's still space for a proper cheeky bassline, and then "Second Face" completes the set with another wriggling, wiggly groover to get all kinds of mischief going on in the club.

It is with great pleasure that Atmos brings you their first release. Since the birth of the agency in 2013, the Atmos family have grown in leaps and bounds - working with extremely talented artists, curating amazing showcases and now releasing some truly amazing music.
The release opens with a track from Arapu, who's been working hard in recent years. 'Arial' incorporates dark and moody vibes with various other sounds, using an eclectic array of textures that come through as the track goes on.
'Chillantro' follows, a groovy sounding number from Tulbure. The percussion drives the track perfectly, picking up various effects and atmospheres on the way, rounding the track off nicely for the listener. This track could be heard day or night, and is guaranteed to shake bodies everywhere.
Piticu wraps up the release with another solid production named 'The That'. Using well programmed drums, vintage sounding synths and modular sounds, this track brings a slightly more experimental sound to the dance floor.

Following releases from Huerta, Mandar and Makcim & Levi last year, Oscillat kicks off 2019 with an assured, brooding club 12" from long-serving producer Matthew Dekay. Since surfacing in 2001, Dutch producer Dekay has put out a formidable body of work under a variety of aliases and in collaboration with producers including Lee Burridge and Maher Daniel. His sultry tech house approach has graced labels as highly regarded as Innervisions, Cecille, Aras and Maeve, and now he comes to Oscillat with "Spellbound," a track that finds him diving deeper than ever before into hypnotic, swinging rhythms loaded with atmosphere and longing. On the B side, Oscillat bosses Mandar (Lazare Hoche, Malin Genie and Samuel Andre Madsen) take Dekay's original and inject it with an infectious peak time energy, creating a straight-up, acid-flecked workout that sits in neat contrast with the immersive shuffle of the original.

The sound on this record is pure, classy minimal house executed with a fine ear for detail, leading in with the deep tracking "34100" before locking into the equally immersive "XYZ". The shuffle is strong on this 12", keeping up on the flip with the subtly dubby, utterly funky "Line Of Questioning" before launching into the crafty, bouncy tones of "Shelter". Immaculately produced with maximum body response in mind, this is another strong outing for Aesthetic and a promising next step for a highly promising producer.

The marvellous Chilean blooded "Llovizna", produced by the talented Felipe Venegas & Francisco Allendes was originally released in 2009 on Cadenza 40th vinyl release. We are delighted to celebrate the 10th anniversary of its publication with a crisp remix by the mighty Luciano and a rework hot off the press by its original writers. Furthermore, there will be another heavyweight remixer,a big surprise and an appreciated comeback: Loco Dice need no introduction, and his remix of this Cadenza classic leaves us speechless. A magnificent bond of the original latin vibes and astonishing peak-time sound manipulation with a relentless pace. The remixes and the rework will be released both on a vinyl E.P. and in digital format.
"Llovizna" is a track with an indissoluble bound with Cadenza's South America roots, a bound perpetually fortified by the origin of many of the artists involved with the label, and by the choice to host amazing massive events in Chile and in the rest of the continent. A funky bass line and full- bodied reverberating jazz drums make out Luciano's bubbly and shiny remix. The cutting edge climactic sequencing of its synthesisers and the seasoned use of percussive breaks and fills exalt the emotional interlude of the folkloric female Latin chant, just before a fully fledged dancefloor oriented restart.
The rework delivered by Felipe and Francisco starts off banging with a resolved bass drum, rattling shakers and fierce hi-hats. Subtle melodies slowly raise from its minimalistic framework revealing in advance all the sweetness of its Andean singing. A majestic rework, which resonates far beyond from a dj tool aftertaste.

Catalognumber 23 - what else is to say While we're feeling the spirit of William S. Burroughs blessing this very vinyl-enigma, &ME went particularly mysterious ways to transcend the category 'dance track' for this one.
The meditation through bass had been the major discipline of some of his latest cuts, but what you'll find on this A-side, one could certainly call the perfection of somnambulistic peaktime-fever. The way he's kneading the lower frequencies, how he's channeling the expansion and decay of bass must inevitably lead to some aroused moaning. Good vocal-selection, for that matter! Then there are those tension building synths and a staccato-frenzy in the break that might be the ultimate ecstasy-trigger of the season.
'Locust' on B comes in with some smoothly looped E-guitar-coolness, adding whispering hi-hats and a comparatively rich percussive architecture. But then again: rolling bass barrels like a signature and a defence breaking build up that's ensued by liberating pressure compensation in mighty breaks. Two demonstrations of understated and sophisticated peaktime-emphasis, so to say. Or differently put: a flawless double-A-side.

An old friend returns to Pets. Three years after his ‘Polyphonic’ EP, Catz ‘n Dogz bring the legend that is Mathias Kaden back on the label and the results speak for themselves…
Following his recent barnstormers on Avotre and Rekids, both ‘Square’ and ‘Distant Horizon’ deliver in that unhurried, cosmic journey-like way Kaden has made his signature over the years: gentle layering, subtle moment, palpable atmospheres but the drive and underbelly of a bulldozer.
‘Square’ kicks off the show with an eight-minute adventure into deep, warm undulating acid. Heavy subs, fluid drums and a persistent spoken vocal texture, this one wraps you up like a cloak. ‘Distant Horizon’, meanwhile, whips that cloak off so quickly it will send you spinning deeper and deeper into the celestial rabbit hole. A 10-minute Mathias epic, it warms up with a progressive rolling feel for a good few minutes before we’re suddenly derailed into a trippy, hazy brew of weird bass bubbles and some rather outlandish spoken word. Poetry in high grade technoid motion.
And the motion doesn’t stop there… Ever ones to get involved, Catz ‘n Dogz get their paws on ‘Distant Horizon’ and give it their own gritty, grainy, trippy twist. Two parts tribal, one part bass, all parts peak time, this doesn’t just stare out at the horizon but flies you right over it.

In our first Basswalk Limited series release, we have the big pleasure to present you a fantastic vinyl from Sander Ellerman called Quartz EP, which includes two stunning remixes by Hansel! and Re Us & Rhythm Box. The first track Quartz is a superb minimalistic groove with a powerful low-end construction that builds an amazing vibe for a club night, enlighten by some subtle vocal phrases that helps getting into a true hypnotic vibe. The second track from A side is the Quartz remix from Re Us & Rhythm Box, which is a fantastic reconstruction with a classic house inclined groove, especially build up from the bass line, with a perfect combination of several percussive layers that articulates organically with the ambience elements in the backend. The B side stars with the second original by Sander, Laleii, which has a solid straight forward base with the inclusion of some ambience elements that constructs a fantastic hypnotic deep techno groove. The second track of this side includes Hansel! It's almost impossible to don't have a look at all the rising talents that surround us - and the guys of Jamahr are surely one of them. North Italy based, Mario and Jacopo joined forces back in 2008 and since then they've constantly put a lot of passion and dedication into their music, working under the alias of Jamahr. Noticed by Yaya a while ago, they've also attract the attention of the European scene with releases on Rich NxT's own 'NxT Records', Sleepless Musik and Kina Music to name a few. We're super happy to see that 'Chordelia' EP is finally set for an official release, which also features a remix by Diego Krause.
'Chordelia' it's an opening track that starts with a dry lowend part until swing drums jump in. The entire track insists on a fresh and racy synth line that perfectly fits with the groove.
Stepping up to tackle the original, with a club approach, Berlin's Diego Krause (Berg Audio, Salty Nuts) use some vocal loops and a some funky shot, enriching the groove and delivering a great version of 'Chordelia'.
On the B side, 'Brotherhood' is about the special synergy between these guys, exposing the contrast between the gentle pads against the electric scratchy synths. The groovy and rolling analog bassline finds an intense groove with whispered vocal shots drifting in and out of the mix.
Closing the affairs is 'Qaacker' where pulsating toms and hi hats encounter mystical long tailed pads and synths into a majestic and dreamy progression. The break is just magical and it's studded with glitched drums and percussions. Definitely the perfect track to complete an ashtonish EP.

January is the month for dreaming, or so the saying goes and there’s more than enough on 2020’s Dots and Pearls 6 to satisfy the wildest flights of fantasy, as Cocoon Recordings invites well known international artists to once again rub shoulders with some of the freshest new talents around.
First up, Eduardo de la Calle & Romina Cohn’s “I’m Losing My Mind“ does a decent job helping us lose ours. Taking the classic DBX template as a start point, Cohn‘s random, spaced out musings elevate things to another level as they filter through all manner of machinery, bathing the hypnotic percussion in a lysergic glow. Fabe’s “Call of Origin“ pulls no punches either, the energetic, bass driven intro bouncing its way centre stage before expanding into lush open spaces with occasional melodic scatters and washes of warm pads that radiate good vibes.
Over the last couple of years, Adana Twins have rightly consolidated there position at the top table, so it’s a pleasure to have them on board with “Origo“. Like snake charmers relentlessly teasing and twisting the infectious hook line in all manner of directions, they demonstrate complete control of their art, pushing all the right buttons to bring things nicely to the boil. As with all Cocoon compilations the deeper you dive, the stranger the vibe and Juan Sanchez delivers a dose of trance-inducing, minimal techno. Abiding by the same dogma as the track before, “Narcissus“ offsets a constantly morphing hypnotic hook line with raw, stripped 909 beats in a classic mid 90‘s style.
Michael Klein’s “Continuation“ maintains the intensity as Cocoon’s Techno Tardis transports the listener even further back to a sweaty early nineties warehouse. It could be London, it could be Berlin... wherever it is, it sure sounds like home. Rico Puestel then snuffs out the candle, plunging us back into darkness. With “Perpetua Mobilia“ he unleashes a deep, prowling beast of a track that reminds us that just when you think you‘ve got a handle on Cocoon, it sheds its skin again, revealing yet another mask behind the mask.
As we motor on towards morning, Radu Dracul adds some bite to proceedings with “Spectrae“, a slow burning psychedelic trip with gently percolating acid lines that smooth out the rough textures of the preceding tracks before giving way to a cavernous breakbeat inflected breakdown. And then finally, Joe Metzenmacher and Borka & The Gang close out the collection, paying homage to the melodic side of Detroit with the quirky, idiosyncratic yet ultimately beautiful “Magic Talk“. It surrounds the dance floor in a warm embrace as keys, strings and bass combine effortlessly to produce a priceless moment of collective euphoria that sees us safely home.
