Tiefschwarz’s Souvenir label kicks off the 2019 year in brilliant form with an EP from Germany’s Metaboman (Musik Krause), featuring 4 mind-melting slices of underground dancefloor weaponry perfectly stripped back to the most essential elements. The EP, ‘Einseins’ is Metaboman’s debut offering for the Berlin imprint, and easily one of his most ambitious and expertly crafted releases to date.

Title track, ‘Einseins’ starts the EP out in perfect psychedelic form with a shuffling, low-slung piece of late night weirdness. Punchy and muffled beats move underneath robotic vocal snippets, aggressive claps and cleverly placed acid squelches. A subdued vocal loop adds the perfect human element to the surreal shaker, keeping things equally playful and wicked.

Robag Wruhme joins the release with a remix of ‘Einseins,’ featuring his beloved ability to fuse unexpected twists and turns with an unstoppable dancefloor delivery. The steady drum arrangement provides the perfect momentum for Robag’s quirky creativity to shine through. Unique and clever, this remix is another shining example of a talented producer at work.

‘Jena’ was clearly created when Metaboman was in an incredibly good mood, as the vibe is nothing short of playful, happy and outrageous. The vocal takes the spotlight on this party rocker, with a funk-drenched freestyle session of soulful magic. The beats and effects perfectly balance out the funk with enough chopped up swing to keep things on the right side of wrong.

Rounding out the release is ‘Mood Boy,’ the deepest cut on the EP. Focused on bare-bones beats and a few perfectly placed vocal samples, the track leaves a wonderful amount of space for haunting melodies to creep in and out of focus. It’s afterhours music expertly suited for musical moments geared towards entering the rabbit hole

The three tracks of my Synthérapie EP all spin in the same sound universe: a modern approach of simple dance music. Émission' is a little more aggressive than the other tracks. Its melody and break rhythm are very bright. Visions' is the most narrative in terms of synths, the most laid back of the three but very breaky as well. And finally, Réfraction' ends the story with a straight groove. The name of the EP is just the contraction of Synthetisers' and Therapy'. As mentioned before, I just decided to get back to the start and reduce the production process to the minimum. The names of the tracks follow the circuit of the light beam and the energy flow of the music. It starts with emitting, followed by the consequences, the release, and finally the change.

Osmosis is back with another remarkable release for their 3rd vinyl catalogue, this time featuring the rising talent Wave Particle Singularity bringing a marriage of microhouse textures and airy jazzy riffs, giving the whole EP subtil lo-fi colors ranging from Romanian to Detroitish influences. The EP is elegantly closed with a special remix from the Arad born talent and Sunwaves fueler, Herck.

Followin on from Aesthetic 06 from Nolga which got huge support sunwaves, young and super talented artists Josh Baker & Alfa bring a serious 3 track ep to Aesthetic.

'Alpha & Omega' is the fourth release on VSA Records, the sagacious imprint spearheaded by Romanian duo Vinyl Speed Adjust. The label's latest installment comes in the form of an inaugural project from Robert Apetrei, one half of Dubsons.

'Alpha' fulfills the a-side, presenting a rugged cut of rolling percussive repetition, synonymous with the textbook groovy sound we've quickly become accustomed to expect from the label. Intertwined with a profound melodic atmosphere, the undercurrent bass line transcends you on a floatacious journey, leaving you revelling in a minimalistic causatum, and longing for more.

On the b-side, 'Omega' completes this reinvigorating EP, with a techno centric dynamism that exudes perpetual energy. With its dubby and relentless groove, fused with a more subtle melody, its dualism between peak time breakdown and the beginning of after-hours, ascertains Robert's aptitude for producing music of the highest order.

The second vinyl release from Nollern Records draws together three cuts of minimalistic groove-driven techno.
Francesco Passantino has delivered two hypnotic dance floor excursions built on throbbing basslines and eerie vocal samples. Tuberoom' is a melodic ride with haunting synths and groovy percussion, whilst Tabu' goes a shade deeper, as mesmerising as it is stripped back.

On the flipside the label founders craft a mind-bending modular kissed restyle of the original, with inspiration taken straight from the Far East. Rich in emotive energy, Nollern envelope the track with a prime vocal sample and subtly enchanting chords.

Markus Homm is back on Still Hot and once again proves impressively that he is a guarantor for deep groovy dance floor tunes.

The title track “Pleasure” gets a hypnotic note from an Arpeggio building up in the background, paired with a distinctive drum groove that goes straight into the legs.
The female vocal, which gives the track a certain recognizability, also picked up by label boss Benny Grauer for his version of “Pleasure”. The Arpeggio reduced and equipped with a striking bassline, he gives the track a technoid touch.

The second original track "Golden Horizon" is way darker than the title track. The almost mystical sounds are accompanied by a crunchy bass drum and surely made for a lot of fun on the afterhour.
Vinyl fans can already look forward to the third original track "Dakar", which will be available only on vinyl.

After the great Remix on ETUI 014 Alec Troniq - Cataract Four' we finally are happy to present this Solo EP by Nico Grubert. There are 4 Tech House Tracks representing the kind of airiness and technical aplomb of Nicos absorbing work. The spheric moments in - Excalibur', filtered organ chords in - Forbidden Fruits' and a blowing brassic theme in - Me Gusta' are always highlighted by the typical exciting Grubert- Beats. So its sounds like the consequential continuation of his journey thru diverse styles, developed gradually over years: Evolving from Trance and Techno, the route, via Acid, finally led to Tech-House, deep-House and Minimal Techno. He released his stuff on labels such as Cometomusic, Kaufe Musik or Definition Rec. and made high recommend remixes for Ferdinand & Kaufmann, Lexy and Crhistian Fischer. But dont judge overhasty! His livegigs differ a lot from what one might expect from his tracks: Hard-pumping high-energy sets, designed to tear any roof off! So we´ve got our hands full!

Cologne's LIKE Records celebrates its 10th year in action with a fantastic EP featuring Tomi Chair vs G-Prod, Sandilé, FM and lable bosses David Hasert & Francesco Mami across four connoisseur house tracks that the likes of XDB and Ney Faustini are already supporting.

Things kick off with Tokyo's Tomi Chair who is well known in deep house circles for his work on Soiree, Blind Jacks Journey and deepArtSounds. Here he links with G-Prod, a pair of brothers who explore dub music in the live area and have landed on R&S and Biotech amongst many others. Their offering, 'Coherence', is a warm and slick deep techno track with a dub bassline and soulful chords that take cues from Detroit. It's a classy cut for heady floors.

Sandilé is a Cologne local who is hugely prolific and inspired by the UK sound of bass, dubstep and garage as well as classic funk and soul. Her releases on Boutade Musique have proven her skills and her lush 'No Reality' here is perfectly driven deep house with airy hi hats and a cavernous atmosphere that is enriched with analogue chords and more blissful machine soul.

'Banana Human Being' then picks up the pace, a fantastically wonky tune from FM that has off balance drums and loose percussion all making for a perfect freaky after party house vibe. Last of all is another standout collaboration, this time between Cologne mainstay and the face of the Reineke Fuchs club, David Hasert and Francesco Mami, a key part of the Circoloco crew, Rhythm Cult and BPitch Control artist and regular on this label. Their 'Light on Light' is a lively house cut with sonorous bell sounds dancing over deep drums and shuffling percussion. Muffled vocals are layered into this thoughtful cut and add another excellent dimension.

This is tasteful house music for cosy crowds who like to go deep.

Francis Harris is a founding member of the Scissor & Thread label - a Brooklyn-based imprint established 2011 as an outlet for deeper, more personal sounds, as well as music from a range of associated artists including black light smoke, Bob Moses, Frank & Tony, DJ Aakmael, Desert Sound Colony and Aris Kindt, to name a few. Harris' own output has gone from tightly wound tech house cuts as Adultnapper in the early days, sublime deep house as Frank & Tony, intricate and expressive musical journeys as evident in his two solo-albums 'Leland' and 'Minutes Of Sleep', and ambient shoegaze with two Aris Kindt albums, co-produced with Gabe Hedrick. Most recently Harris branched out with a new label - Kingdoms - a home for his love of a more adventurous sound. Now we are proud to present his new solo single, the first since the release of 'Minutes of Sleep', 'Minor Forms'which includes two remarkable remixes by Valentino Mora. 'More We Cannot Do' is a perfect example of Harris' feel for depth and dynamics - a track that feels submerged in a warm amniotic fluid cocooning the listener in a thick subby bassline, providing much of the groove, with skittering percussion on top and intricate fragments of melody throughout leading to a wonderful moment with live vibraphone provided by New York player Will Shore. 'Minor Forms', the EP's title track is cut from similar cloth - emerging from a subtly distant place to inhabit a melancholic, beautifully evocative space - somewhere between ambient, jazz and the dancefloor. Joining Harris is Greg Paulus on Trumpet, a long time friend and collaborator adding his signature touch to an already moving piece.

After the overwhelming response to our first release, we are back with number two of our vinyl only series. This time we enlisted London based Modebaku & Banyn to put together two original tracks to front the EP. On remix duties we have added Romanian heavyweights, Lumieux and Triptil to put their spin on things

Small Hours is back with another selection from producers far and wide. NYC stalwart, Charles Noel AKA Archetype AKA Monochrome, very kindly licences an edit of his celestial jungle gem, 'Paradise' to the VA label. Originally issued in '94 on Ohio's 21/22 Corporation, this 2020 'Paranoid' version (byYouandewan) interpolates elements of the original and '217' by Brooklyn-Berlin transplant Velasco, courtesy of Bologna-based label, DAT. On Side B, Underlying Form boss Darren Allen serves up a slice of his non-conforming minimal-madness alongside fellow Discobar comrade, Robin Ordell, who brings an energetic, machine-driven jam reminiscent of his recent outings on
Subsequent & Domesticated.

After crossing the galaxy, stopping on some respected home bases like Rowle, Curtea Veche and Point of View, relentless space explorer Viceversa regains control of his own spaceship with another lovely 2-tracker EP. Entitled ‘Fifteen’ features airy ambience and lumpy bleeps, while ‘Sixteen’ takes the listener through an asteroid storm, providing some proper 'hands up -heads down' after-hours vibes.9

Cocada, a project which emerged as a diffuser of the musical talent present throughout Latin America, quickly spread its sounds to the four corners of the world, becoming a great initiative for electronic music. We couldn't be happier by this time, Cocada's first release as a record label is born with some respected artists and a beautiful story behind.

The wonderful artwork was illustrated by the Brazilian artist Paula Dornelles, who dedicates herself to the production of experimental artworks, she was able to convey through all her creative potential the depth of the meaning present in the word "freedom", a small sample of Latin American talent also in the visual arts.

On the album, who begins the work is the Brazilian duo, Diogo Vaille and Marcelo Abreu aka Bruce Leroys, with "Liberdade" (Original Vocal Version), a rework of a classic MPB song. The artists managed to perfectly merge the melancholy voice present in the song with a deep and dense bass line, bringing all the emotion present in the lyrics, causing goosebumps.

However, the duo isn't alone in this release. None other than Ricardo Villalobos has also left his trademark with a great remix, featuring fuller grooves and inserting multiple textures for the track.

Lossless' first offering in 2018 comes courtesy of co-founder Mathias Schober. With his 'Continuing EP' Mathias' definitely continues what he has started with his recent 'Certanities EP' on Optimo Trax. The EP is a true reflection of Mathias' constant approach to push the boundaries and merge his influences to draw a coherent painting. In this case the drawing is consisting of three truly unique tracks.

After the great success of our first Basswalk Limited series release, we have the huge pleasure to bring you this second edition made by the rising star Zlatnichi with his To Jic Headz EP, which includes four absolutely groovy tracks. In the A side we have French Cuckold Games first, which is magnificent voyage composed by several and subtle percussion layers that creates a great hypnotic vibe that is mainly followed and driven by a very funky bass line and low-end. The second track of this side is Jazzerai. It presents several house elements and a great work over the vocals and jazz fills that gives this track a quality upgrade for sure. For the B side we have To Jic Headz at first, which shows several musical textures in correlation with an amazing groove driven by a great low-end, in addition of an extensive work with the articulations of each sound to create a great musical piece. The second track of B side is Dandarinos and it leans towards a minimal house style with some tech arrangements and sounds that makes your brain float inside a delightful sonic experience in what is one of the most beautifully produced tracks from this release.

Giacomo Silvestri presents his third vinyl, this contains a superb remix of the talented artist FUNK E (Raum...musik ,Pleasure Zone ,Mulen) .interesting release from sophisticated sounds that always change, perfect for adapting to the current underground scene.

Small Hours returns and proudly welcomes two new faces to the label. DJ Pipe brings the heat with an excellent debut track reminiscent of his fine DJ sets at CDV & Hoppetosse in recent times. Oslo digger and emerging producer, Rub800, also joins the family delivering a raw, tripped out affair on side B. Local legend, 'Hollywood' Huerta sets the bar high with one of his finest jams to date, plus label boss Youandewan departs a little from his usual sound with a bouncy, entrancing effort to complete the EP.

Here we have one of our favourite kitties... Affkt! He is one of the most experienced electronic producers coming from Spain.
"Lost In Process" EP is a two tracked affair backed with the remixes from Cristoph and Wehbba. The title track is such a delicate cut, boasting the sensual vocals from Thomas Gandey which evolves the cut into a deep and emotional song that radiates pure joy. On the other hand, "Boss" is a darker and techier cut featuring Thomas Gandey's robotised voice that perfectly balance the whole cut. The remixes from Cristoph and Wehbba bring out the burst of energy the release deserves.

As the summer heatwave rolls on, so does the music with the new arrival of record label Confucius. Brain child of Swiss DJ and Producer, Sandro Kuhne which sees the first release as a split EP between himself and Romanian talent Arapu, a fast rising name of the minimal house scene and who's track "Pe Final" is a sweet somber thrill of groove and moodiness, tight kick and high hats, punching along with a snappy snare wrapping over a subtle melody and tight bass line. After hours or early sun rise set, this track has the fuel ready to ignite.

For the B-side we are spoilt with two tracks from Sandro Kuhne, the first entitled "Ephemeral" being a no holds bar intense groover, full of flickering sounds and cuts, stabs and detail. This one has a relentless energy and attitude to become a classic dance floor killer. The second song is "Sonorous" and is the deeper of the two, packing punch and funk while bringing in the atmospherics and trippy happy hands in the air vibes, smiles will be on faces when this one drops.

The vinyl-only series VRV begins 2019 with a strong performance from Direkt, a young emerging talent from the Romanian underground scene, his tracks being played in the last year by the likes of RQZ, Giuliano Lomonte, Priku or Arapu.

We start with the „AM Shift”, a powerful way to kick things off. Its smooth but determined bass gives you a morning-coffee like energy. A perfect way to start your early morning shift at an after party.

Next, on the second track, things start to get a bit heavier and a little more serious, with some powerful and groovy bass lines. Everything is soon covered with an ever-evolving layer of percussions and distinctive noises, making for a lovely complex piece of work.

The third track, Modularps, is certainly a dark chapter in this story. A moody, heavy and stable affair that delivers some chilling vibes, this is a journey that gains urgency as the minutes go by and you can expect to find yourself lost in the dreamy sounds.

Expect some nifty sounds from Hidden, the last dance on this EP. The track starts off calmly but quickly descends into a deep and spacey odyssey, closing off a wonderful EP, a true statement of intent from Direkt.

The greater the pressure the deeper the revelation !
