Anopolis are a collective of four Thessaloniki based producers coming together for their first release on Lower Parts. More specifically they are based in the Ano Poli area of the city, hence the name. From warm analog pads to screaming acid lines combined with raw beats, Anopolis provides a 90s mix tape vibe with a wide mixture of styles and sounds. Included is a storming remix from Elec PT.1 aka Andreas Gehm, The Minister, Manager 111.

The EP starts with Anopolis 2, a long, disco flavored track, built up gradually with phasing pads , lead melodies and an arpeggiated square bass line. The hypnotic feeling of Anopolis 5 is up next taking things deeper and textural while Anopolis 11 stands strong with it's relentless acid loop juxtaposed with sharp drums washed in reverb. The final track of the EP arrives in the form of a remix of Anopolis 2 by Elec pt.1 creating a mysterious and sinister atmosphere. Anopolis are an example of the fresh wave of sound coming from Northern Greece. Be quick.

At the 2014 SXSW festival in Austin, Texas, BACARDI turned the movements of 100,000 wild bats into an exclusive music track. Using bespoke motion tracking technology, the team used the swarming of the bats to trigger unique beats and mix the track's tone and tempo as they flew. This limited Vinyl pressing of 200 copies features three Craig Richards remix's of that track.

Recently we've been thrilled to announce that Django Django will release their new album, Born Under Saturn, on May 4th 2015 via Because Music.

Django Django's debut album came out in January 2012 on Because Music and was lavished with praise. It was 'updated psychedelia that beguiles and delights' (The Guardian), 'consistently mind-melting and often brilliant' (Q), 'bursting with ideas' (Pitchfork) and 'gloriously, unpredictably new' (Mojo). By December it had been shortlisted for the Mercury Prize and named one of the albums of the year by Rolling Stone and NME. They became known from their electric live performances full of energy, and went on to play memorable shows at festivals across the globe including as Glastonbury and Fuji Rock.



This much-anticipated first ep from Born Under Saturn, First Light, will release on April 6th to much excitement with great remixes whose one is produced by recently critical acclaimed producer, Ghost Culture (Phantasy Sound).

Cologne based imprint Klangkultur Schallplatten was previously associated with stripped back minimal sounds but have recently been showing they are about more than just that: Helping them do so here is ubiquitous British DJ and producer Dale Howard with his 'What Else EP', complete with a remix from Moon Harbour man Martinez.

An Iceberg is a large mass of ice detached from a glacier or from a floating platform of glaciers that drifst in the sea. It is in constant motion and most of its mass remains submerged under surface of the water. The goal of this new Iceberg series of releases on Glacial Movements is to describe through techno / dub music this huge mass of ice. Each record release will be produced in a special maxi digipack with images printed and embossed in spot gloss.

The first chapter of this series is "Zastrugi" - the first techno glacial album by Netherworld. It's a wind-eroded, hard-packed snow surface with irregular grooves and sharp ridges that is mostly found in the earth's polar regions as well as on high mountains subject to high winds. The ridges, often appearing like frozen waves, form parallel to the prevailing winds and are usually found on windward slopes. The windward surface is usually rough and has a sand-blasted appearance. The snowy surface is very hard and is difficult to cross by foot or on skis. Netherworld aka Alessandro Tedeschi is also the creator and owner of Glacial Movements Records in Rome, Italy. He published several works on various labels such as Fario, Angle Rec, Umbra, and Taalem, The Wire Tapper Series and Glacial Movements with releases like "Morketid" (2007), "Over the Summit" (2011) and "Alchemy of Ice "(2013) .These were critically acclaimed gems of ambient music.

Gobstopper Records are proud to announce their first vinyl release - the debut EP from Iglew. "I guess my music sounds the way it does because it's a product of my environment. I didn't grow up in a city and there's no underground electronic music scene here. When I started listening to electronic music, it was on headphones. It's only in the last couple of years that I've heard soundsystem music in it's intended environment. I'm hyper aware of how effective bass can be because I only really heard it properly recently." Across its four tracks the EP explores a number of melodic, rhythmic and textural ideas. The synth flashes and silence in 'Sleep Lighter' sit in contrast with the sombre tones of 'Urban Myth', while the clattering percussion of 'Regalia' plays against the enveloping bass tones of closing track 'Cymatism'. Currently residing in Leeds after a period in Brighton, he has been experimenting with sound systems, creating music which is simultaneously stark and subtle. Iglew discovered electronic music not through raves but through podcasts. Because of this, his compositional approach is based on harmony, melody and texture as opposed to dancefloor hype. 'Urban Myth' is a result of the belated immersion of an outsider into sound system culture. DJ support comes from Murlo, Oil Gang, Dark0, Airhead and Last Japan.

"Lies," a track from the now-defunct UK experimental group Bourbonese Qualk, get new life by way of a vinyl release on Mannequin Records with Ancient Methods on edit and remix duties. The release will contain also the original short-time version.
Bourbonese Qualk came into existence in 1979, and put out a stream of confrontational albums through much of the '80s and into the early '90s. After a long pause, their final album, On Uncertainty, came out in 2001, and the band disbanded the next year after the death of guitarist Miles Miles.

"Lies", a terse, TR 808 driven electro-tinged cut just under two minutes long, originally came out in 1986 on the Preparing For Power LP by way of the group's own label Recloose Organization.

Courtesy of producer Jeedo under the alias Church Boy Lou, this 4-track Weep EP is steeped in the evolution of slave spirituals into gospel music. It is songs from the field meeting the trinity of Chicago house, Detroit electro-tech and disco. The voice of producer Paul Randolph accompanies the wails and moans from Southern plantation laborers on Alright!' and the companion Paul-a-pella.' The title track Weep' is seven and a half minutes of haunting vocal chops and raw four-on-the-floor drums.

The EP Holy Oxygen I is produced by LuckyMe signing Cid Rim and The Clonious, known for his excellent releases on Affine and Ubiquity Records. This collaboration was booted into life during the Viennese producers latest South African tour with stops in Johannesburg and Cape Town.

Umlazi, Durban born Simiso Zwane skilfully manages to mix his mother tongues and his own slang into a truly urban blueprint of thriving languages. Zulu, English, Afrikaans, seemingly effortlessly expressed in brilliantly interweaved themes and topics.

Miami based producer Danny Daze is breaking out with a bang, he is responsible for the biggest underground hit of Miami WMC 2011 with 'Your Everything', and it looks like it's shaping up to be the biggest record of the summer!

After a successful launch with tracks from Citizen and Ejeca, Loft Records returns with its
second single this March, entitled 'Ghana' by Dorsia, and backed with reworks from HNNY, Jay Shepheard and Roberto Rodriguez.
Dorsia is the collaborative guise of British duo Adam Reid and Andy Watson, both artists have been producing individually for quite some time, but have now joined forces and are set to release their debut single via Loft Records here. The pair create melodic, understated electronic music tipped towards the dance floor. Although newcomers under this title, working with such a promising young label and following the footsteps of Ejeca and Citizen, Dorsia are certainly ones to watch in 2014.
The original mix of 'Ghana' opens the single, a gritty, low-slung house number driven by raw analogue bass, crunchy rhythms, smoothly programmed reverb soaked vocal lines and tension building atmospherics to kick off the package in style. Let's Play House / Local Talk artist HNNY steps in first on remix duties next, reshaping the vibe entirely to generate a stunningly contrasting interpretation. The Swedish producer opts for ever-evolving saw wave bass, rugged drums, meandering melodies and a subtly blossoming dynamism to create a truly classy rework.
Then on the latter half of the 12'' we have two additional remixes of 'Ghana', first up is the ever onpoint Compost artist Jay Shepheard, who turns in a dubbed out house reshape, fuelled by stabbing bass hits, tension building strings and swirling echoes. While closing the package is Roberto Rodriguez, the Finnish artist delivers a stripped back version, which tips the focus solely towards the groove with bumpy bass tones and heavily swinging rhythms driving the track throughout.

Boston Bun is back for 2015 with Just for Freaks, which is part 1 of a series of three EPs dedicated to unrestrained underground clubbing.

JUST FOR FREAKS 1 stays in the Chicago house revival that Boston Bun established these past 2 years. The right balance between deep and ghetto music.

A-side " PLEASURE " is a track that you can play very late in the darkest clubs. It drives us with unpitched voices and unleashed TR which succeed to a cut-up bass.

B-side " LEVITATE " flirts with lovely strummed music, almost nostalgic, interrupted by an harmonious and bouncy bassline. The lyric "You wanna play house some more" sounds like the anthem of a neverending party.

I woke up from a dream, I dreamt of my Mother. I haven't seen her for a while. The dream is the only place I could see her, since she left this world. I always believed that she went to another universe, and often she came to see me. We would do something fun together. This time, we were picking coconuts from a big tree. The coconuts rather looked like pine tree cones. But they were big and green and there was fresh, juicy coconut flesh inside. We were using a lengthy stick, knocking on the fruits. And then they fall, one by one, like a dance... This is the story, the falling coconuts dance from another universe.

Trentemøller is the Dane who did. He's been making electronic music of one kind of bent or another for over 15 years, first making his name as part of Trigbag, a live house act that toured extensively. But it's his solo material that has impacted on the dance community - and beyond. 'La Champagne' was a game-changer and his remixes of artists like Sharon Phillips secured his place as an artist with some serious chops. But that's not all he is. You can hear that yearning in his productions and it's evident here, a sort of Protestant northern European melancholy. He is aided on his journey towards the Baltic by some heavy hitters, of course: Velvet Underground, Mazzy Star, This Mortal Coil. But that's not the story, it's not where the plot comes from, it's not where we're going. It's just a little indicator to reassure you we know the way. No. For it's in the dark beauty of Low's tremulous 'Amazing Grace' or even the way that the Shangri-Las' '(Remember) Walkin' In The Sand', surrounded by the similarly inclined, takes on a funereal gait. As we navigate the flatlands of your mind, we're helped along by a generous sprinkling of Anders' fellow Danes, like Darkness Falls (the atmosphere of this mix aptly encapsulated right there), Ekko, Chimes & Bells and the Late Night Tales tradition, Trentemøller's cover of Chris Isaacs' 'Blue Hotel', sung by Marie Fisker and Steen Jørgensen.

Originally released in 2010 this mix has gone on to become a classic, it was never released on vinyl at the time, so due to public demand we have carefully mastered each track and carefully cut at half speed for optimum sonic reproduction.
