Music For Dreams continue their high profile string of releases with this double album of dark pop brilliance from Danish newcomers Silent Riders. Apart from their names - Lu, Gee and C - little is known about this mysterious trio who wear masks during live performances. Emerging from some unknown murky world, materialising from the shadows in the woods, they have created a mythical sphere accessible only through their music - a vision of electronica that is organic and alive with both warmth and danger. Led by the sultry voice of Lu, we are drawn into the dark imaginings of the Silent Riders with almost cinematic brilliance as Gee and C man the machines that weave the atmospheric dronings of their world - a world that could be easily mistaken for one created by David Lynch or Tim Burton. The rhythms that form the path to this domain remind us along the way of previous travellers such as Throbbing Gristle, Cabaret Voltaire or Tolouse Lowtrax. With the opening track "I See You", Silent Riders offer up a brilliant pop diamond combining all elements of their distinctive sound palette. Lu's soulful voice bounces off almost funky drum machines, all drenched in layers of dark analog ambience. On the lush "Copenhagen Dream", Lu channels a sense of brit-pop nonchalance into a political song about the state of her city. In contrast, "Being Afraid" sees the band in their hardest grittiest mode - with Lu reminiscent of PJ Harvey at her most moody and the slow groove behind her like a factory machine beating and releasing steam.  Other highlights include the chilling "Static" and the ethereal beauty of closing track "Falling" which sees the Riders in their most relaxed and dreamy state, and echoes the works of Portishead and Massive Attack. A stunning debut - limited vinyl release - don't miss.

In 2011 Dave Monolith released his first CD album "Welcome" on Rephlex. Here is finally his first album in vinyl which brings together the EP released on his Bandcamp (in digital format only) with unreleased tracks between braindance and acid. Everybody can find his groove thanks to the quality and the completion of his work!

Absolute Body Control was formed by Dirk Ivens in 1980 and joined by Eric Van Wonterghem just after releasing their first single 'Is There An Exit'. Achieving an underground cult following, the band took their influence from bands such as Suicide, D.A.F, and the UK electronic scene. After a few years, the band members all went their separate ways finding success in other influential acts such as The Klinik, Dive, Sonar, Monolith and Insekt.

In 2007 Absolute Body Control re-formed and released Wind(Re)Wind on a very limited picture disc LP and later on CD including updated & re-recorded versions of their best tracks. Modern sound recording techniques blend seamlessly with the classic roots of low-fi electro.

Now, almost a decade after the first pressing, "Wind(Re)Wind" is relunched including all the 13 tracks from the CD plus two new versions ('Waving Hands' and 'The Man I Wanna Be') and a live recording from WGT 2007 (previously available only on a limited CD)

All tracks have been remastered by Eric Van Wontergehn at Prodam Studios (Berlin).

Auf dem 1980 veröffentlichten Album "Atmosphere" erleben wir den Elektronikmusiker Adelbert von Deyen in
Höchstform. Beim ersten Stück, "Timemachine", treibt ihn die Schlagzeug-Begleitung von Wolfgang "Zabba"
Lindner zu schwungvollem Elektro-Krautrock. Lindner war Anfang der 1970er bereits in der Progrock-Band
Tomorrow's Gift in Erscheinung getreten und hatte 1974 zusammen mit Carsten Bohn ein experimentelles
Percussion-Album ("Vollbedienung Of Percussion") eingespielt. Auch auf dem zweiten Stück "Silverrain" ist er
zu hören, wenn auch nicht so schwungvoll. Weitere acht Titel sind dem Titelthema "Atmosphere" zugeordnet.
Hier laden langsam gleitende Synth-Flächen mit minutenlang gehaltenen Dronesounds, Schwebungen und
Synth-FX zur Kontemplation ein. Der zeitliche und finanzielle Produktionsaufwand für dieses Album war
enorm. Unermüdlich komponierte von Deyen im Heimstudio, experimentierte mit seinen Synthesizern und
suchte neue Klänge. Für den Feinschliff sorgte Lars Hidde, der im Star-Studio Hamburg eine neue
Abmischung und das Mastering übernahm. "Atmosphere" markiert das Ende von Deyens Ambient-Phase: Mit
Softrock-Balladen und sozialkritischen Texten auf dem folgenden vierten Album "Eclipse" hatte wohl kaum
jemand gerechnet.

Two years after the release of his acclaimed debut EP on I'm a Cliché, Jakarta's best kept secret is back on Cosmo Vitelli's imprint with four terrific original tracks. Jonathan Kusuma is a producer who has managed in the space of a few releases and remixes to develop a signature sound which mostly relies on taking disco and EBM elements and putting them in new and unexpected contexts, offering us a glimpse of what modern dance music would sound like if house and techno had never existed. Narcotic, hedonistic, abstract and particularly efficient on the dancefloor, Kusuma's music is always about quality and never about quantity and so we are particularly thrilled to share with the world the four new tracks that constitute this EP.
A1 AUTOMATONE
The EP opens with this streamlined yet highly efficient tune of a robotic persuasion. Kusuma uses thick sub bass, a round edged groove, metallic percussion, dramatic sweeps and synthetic spurts to create a track that sounds like a sleek machine with a highly polished take on the Power Electronics sound tailored for the dancefloor.
A2 MORDOR DISKO
It is one of Kusuma's strong suits to produce tracks with a disco kit that go beyond the usual confines of the genre. Here's a fine example of this. With latin percussion, arpeggios and several layers of melody, the robotic feel is still present but less so than on the previous track. Theres an element of darkness, as hinted by the track title, if they had discos in Tolkien's universe, DJs would probably spin this.
B1 POLICE & SNITCH
Somewhere between EBM and disco, this is a tune driven by a hypnotic yet utterly groovy analog bassline along with warm percussion sounds, catchy melody and mind-boggling effects. This tune sounds like the soundtrack to a chase scene in the backstreets of Jakarta and it is guaranteed to induce movement on the dancefloor.
B2 SHOOTING DRUMS
Closing the EP is this dramatic rhythm track that goes way beyond your usual DJ tool. Hand percussion is given a subtle beat repeat treatment, noisy bleeps, eerie vocal samples and arresting pads are used to great effect. It's another example of Kusuma's signature sound, tribal and psychedelic but refined and never out of touch

Alex Warren, AKA Kiwi, debuts on Futureboogie for the label's closing release of the year. With previous releases on labels like Optimo Music, Blasé Boys Club and Sneaky Music, the versatile producer serves up four tracks of deep and driving underground goodies. The London based producer/DJ has genre hopped with ease over the last few years, building up an impressive arsenal of productions and remixes. He has been called upon to reshape for artists like The Klaxons, Duke Dumont and Bonar Bradberry, and his music has been warmly received and supported by Andrew Weatherall, Daniel Avery, Erol Alkan and many more. On his Futureboogie release, Kiwi blends energetic Italo styles on lead track 'Orca', whilst 'Minke' fuses gnarly technoid house with deft melodies and soft touches. The spatial synths of 'Logman's Break' create a highly infectious earworm of a track and the brass melodies freestyle over a sturdy production, whilst the closing 'Pygmy' gets spaced out with tweaking acid bass and moon stomping beats.

From laid back Caribbean rhythms to sweat dripping bedlam, Coco Bryce comes with melting pot bubbling over with influences and styles. London-based producer, visual artist and NTS Radio host Kit Grill has announced a new 5-track EP, titled Westway and set for release on 7th October via his own Primary Colours imprint. The EP will be available digitally along with a limited run of 200 vinyl copies designed by Alex Sullivan, with cover photography by Grill and an accompanying video by London director Laurie Lynch.

Westway draws on Grill's personal experiences of living in a cityscape and echoes the industrial, fast-paced and repetitive rhythm of his home city, London. The EP was recorded over the course of several months from early 2015 to February of this year, the propulsive beats and driving, shimmering synthwork across tracks like 'Distance' and 'Street Runner' inspired by and echoing the Brutalist beauty of the capital, culminating in the euphoric, widescreen string flourishes of closing track 'Stairway'.

Kit Grill's output spans across music, photography, painting and video. After graduating from Chelsea College of Art and Design, he spent the next two years experimenting with sound and studying music. In 2013 he released his first EP Expressions on Primary Colours, and later that year a full studio album Mirror Image was released through the GetMe! label.

The Independent hailed Grill a minimalist master' and he saw further praise from the likes of Boiler Room, XLR8R and Jacques Greene, who told Dummy, "If I had to compare Kit Grill to other artists, the more musical side of Steve Reich's work and Koreless immediately come to mind. But I'd rather simply enjoy his music as this one solid argument for minimalism amongst all that busy noise." Grill produced a video to accompany the track 'Velodrome' using found footage from the 1980 Moscow Olympics, which gained widespread recognition.

The Europe EP was released in 2015 with original artwork by Grill, followed by Paradise, which showcased a new direction in sound, mixing '80s new wave with modern classical influences. The breadth of influences across his own productions is something Kit explores in his monthly Sunday show on NTS, playing an eclectic range of music from around the world including jazz, avant garde, modern classical, ambient, techno, house, new wave, disco and everything in-between.

Following his stunning box set on Fundamental Records, Ed Upton aka DMX Krew makes his third outing on CPU, increasingly becoming home for his darker side.

Space Cucumbers contains a wealth of expression with Italo disco arpeggiators, seldom heard time signatures, Hi-NRG, and bass heavy electro funk. Featuring the usual aquatic tendencies mixed with echoes of darkwave. Vintage analogue strings, overdriven acid and Upton's favourite drum machine all make an appearance riding on his signature funk laced arrangements.

INDV is the brainchild of Hamburg resident Matthias Schuster (also of Bal Pare, Das Institut,Geisterfahrer and others), and creates a more heavy-weight style of Minimal Synth in the spirit of D.A.F., or even early Front 242. The tracks were taken directly off cassettes and reworked with added vocals, whilst maintaining the original 80s recording techniques of 4-track and purely analogue instrumentation, strictly no plug-ins or digitalism here!

Matthias has been actively producing complex synthetic sounds since the late 1970s, having released seminal albums and singles on respected labels such as, Plastic Frog, Minimal Wave and Medical Records. His passion for all things analogue seems to be irrepressible, devoting a considerable amount of time to myriad projects each with their own unique qualities and sonics. He musically switches from Neue Deutsche Welle stylings, to Minimal Synth and proto-EBM with great dexterity and a rare continuing dedication.

Witnessing the enthusiasm and the positive response of the crowd while building these pieces into tracks on stage, the heartwarmed duo decided to go back in studio and record these sections one by one.
The result of these recordings is an uplifting four tracks EP floating between acid lines and stabbing synth chords that the two producer have the secret.
Combine to their energetic signature rhythmics you'll quickly find yourself taping on the beat as the tunes evolves into insane club anthems. Be ready for no rest.

Neville Watson makes his DBA debut proper after appearing on Special Editions in 2013 with four rave-ready belters. Coming fresh from releases for ASOK's Scenery label and Craig Richards' The Nothing Special, Watson continues to explore the house sound of the UK, replete with bleeps, acid yells and basslines.

Amongst the track titles some will also note a tongue in cheek tribute to the UK's least popular export, the Great British Douchebag. Gym-goers will be familiar with the Creatine quaffing, equipment-hogging lovers of fake tan who've forgotten to train their legs. Just remember though, underneath the stench of cheap aftershave and alcopops, these young men just want to dance like the rest of us.

For Sonar Kollektiv the 12inch series Based On Misunderstandings is something like a testing ground for new projects, sounds and trends of aesthetics. RüBA KPØ is not a veteran's hard rock line-up like the name might suggest, but a four-headed hydra that patched things up in 2009 to turn everything upside down we always thought we knew about club music. A prime release on King Sound Music in 2013 targeted a first direction, now the gloves are taken off.We Are World' is a true challenge for any listening habit without losing any catchiness though. A downright minimalistic techno track with an extra overwhelming bassline and a mad acid arpeggio is carried by a whimsical, pastoral choir into heaven. A concept captivating in the original version incredibly. The remixes by Simbad and Eddy & Dus urge the mischief of this composition to even riskier places. At the end of the day is this 4-track EP keeping everybody on their toes and one will wonder once again: Is this all just a misunderstanding or is this after all the sound of the future

Anders Enges interest in modular synthesizers comes from a desire to shut down conscious decisions about form and to focus on rhythm and timbre. This does however not land in traditional techno but rather in a riff-oriented style, the riff being both rhythm and "melody" and also a morphing entity in the music. Drums and percussion attempt to follow this entity, while maintaining a link to the dance music pulse. The resulting style makes for a hybrid timewarped experience of travelling a parallell electronic music reality, a brooding technoid that grooves.
