World-renowned group GusGus have returned with their 11th studio album, the highly emotive Mobile Home, marking their first album release since 2018. The collective once again prove their commitment to pushing their artistic boundaries as they release one of their most ambitious and powerful albums in decades. For their latest record, GusGus call on VÖK’s lead singer Margrét Rán to help expand their style, keeping the collective’s sound as fresh as ever. The 9-track album features a concoction of electronic rock, ambient, darkwave, downtempo, and synthpop.

After announcing a new album in October 2020, GusGus wowed fans with their first single “Higher,” offering a first taste of how VÖK’s impactful vocals mesh seamlessly with GusGus’ intelligent and powerful electronic production. “Higher” was soon followed up with the darker, downtempo “Stay The Ride” and the bright and energetic synth work on “Our World.” The three captivating singles each received equally remarkable music videos courtesy of founding members Arni & Kinski, the directing team known for working with the likes of Sigur Rós, Kiasmos, Ólafur Arnalds, Of Monsters and Men, and more.

Every track on Mobile Home doubles as a window into a futuristic dystopian world that has been overtaken by machines. A nod to the rise of technology and ever-growing uncertainty surrounding automation, the album explores themes of solitude, rebellion, science fiction, hedonism, pleasure, and anger. Swirling within this world is a disconnected, aching soul who is on the verge of slipping into complete dementia. Forgotten purpose and goals but continues to be driven by the hedonistic default program of material consciousness; sensually self-indulgent and engaged in the pursuit of pleasure alone. In Mobile Home, GusGus challenge themselves like never before, resulting in a wonderfully chaotic reflection of the ongoing war between soul and machine.

With Mobile Home, GusGus show the quality and sonic diversity of the singles pervades throughout the full LP, while preserving the melodramatic themes that tie its 9 tracks together. “Simple Tuesday” showcases the group’s aptitude for blending contemporary electronic production with pop sensibilities while keeping an optimistic tonality at the forefront. Meanwhile, “Love Is Alone” and “Original Heartbreak” offer a slower, more pensive take on synthpop, and evoke feelings of solitude and deep melancholia. “Silence” and “The Rink” boast some of GusGus’s more experimental production, each alternating between radio-ready vocal verses with inventive and exciting synth elements. GusGus closes Mobile Home with “Flush,” an instrumental score that leaves the listener riding high as they finish the LP.

New Japanese label "amidst" debut EP by up-and-coming Colombian-born Canadian producer and DJ, Cosmic JD. The tracks stand somewhere amidst solid Techno with a Garage twist, cosmic funky Deep House, trippy Downtempo and epic Ambient.

HETA BILALETDIN BRINGS SOME WEIRD DUB AND BEDROOM RADIO HITS STRAIGHT FROM THE FINNISH FOREST CITIES. Her debut solo album Nauhoi is a collage of home recordings and hidden hits. It has been made slowly during many years in the spirit of cut & glue – utilizing samplers, vocals, field recordings, computer, found objects, synths, no-tune guitar and dusty four-track tapes.

gem-K is the femme fatale alter-ego of Maria Korkeila, a Finnish multidisciplinary artist working at the intersection of fashion, graphics, textiles, photography and music. Super Utu and Korkeila first crossed paths in 2017 at The Community, a small independent art gallery then located in Paris’s 10th arrondissement run by a group of Finnish expats. It was from then we learnt that Korkeila’s artistry is influenced not by any one discipline but by praxis itself. This can be observed through her myriad creative explorations: In My Room - a site specific installation at Kämp Garden, Helsinki; Her Aalto University grad collection - a junction of photography and textile design through a feminist lens; and Fiskars by Maria Korkeila - a gender-neutral gardening and urban exploration clothing collection.

11th studio album from D.C. based electronic duo featuring artists: Mr. Lif, Sitali, Racquel Jones, Notch, Natalia Clavier, and Lou Lou Ghelichkhani. The 12 track Treasures from the Temple is a continuation from their last album Temple of I & I, recorded in Port Antonio. Blending their signature sound with classic dub, dancehall, and roots vibes.

Kynant EX is a new series for non-dancefloor focused records on hand-stamped vinyl. The first release comes from a legendary UK band, O Yuki Conjugate, who have been making unique experimental music since 1982. The duo have reworked their 2019 album track “Forgotten Summer” into a two-part, 12m45s epic, which starts broken-beat and ends with a five minute beatless sequence. The B-side houses two new tracks, the first is abrasive and full of dread, the second a bass-heavy ambient cut.

Something wicked this way comes. Following singles 'Know The Future' b/w 'Digital Warfare' in 2019 and 'Hypersocial' b/w 'Safety Test' in 2020, ESP’s own Patrick Conway has now teamed up with the illustrious Appleblim (of Skull Disco and Apple Pips fame) for a meaty self-titled debut 2xLP under the new collaborative moniker, Trinity Carbon. There is something to be said for art created in the face of global unraveling, while mass transgression and the friction of culture shifting produce poignant commentary, but more often than not, it’s the personal coping mechanisms within our work that have the power to speak directly to the receiver. After a number of sessions resulting in wild imaginative beginnings, it was the untimely passing of Andrew Weatherall and a coming to terms with that loss that moved the two Brits-via-Berlin to herd their roaming sketches into a more narrative statement. In the uphill struggle to retain some sense of individualism, it’s always outsiders like Weatherall whose risks illuminate the roads of creativity less traveled, and when those beacons go dark there is a disorientation felt far and wide. Conway and Blim concede to the internal inquiry, “What would Weatherall do?” bringing to mind the man’s pervading morale, always soldiering onward through mediocrity, as it was undoubtedly an impetus for the duo growing steadfast and chiseling 'Trinity Carbon' into completion. While employing trusted machines in the bass department, they established a warm euphonic home base from which they could stray in a variety of tonal and rhythmic directions without straining a tether to the album’s core. However, as soon as any hint of familiarity may arise, or listeners begin to mentally assign stylistic epithets, the duo boldly change course to remind us that while the banal stay safely defined, it’s the iconoclasts, the outsiders who make us feel.

As the final chapter in the initial run of Jazz Is Dead releases, Remixes JID010 continues the creative catharsis of an exhilarating new chapter in jazz music. Adrian Younge & Ali Shaheed Muhammad tapped nine iconic creators to reimagine their personal favorites from Jazz Is Dead’s catalogue to-date, who created striking new versions by Cut Chemist, DJ Spinna, Georgie Anne Muldrow, Akili, Shigeto, Pink Siiffu, Dibiase, Natureboy Flako, and Kaidi Tathum. It’s a family affair.

Catz 'n Dogz are back with album 'Moments'. Written and recorded in the midst of this crisis. Twelve tracks form the backbone to this wide-spanning sonic journey that document the highs and lows of this time. Drawn out of their comfort zone, it's safe to say this shift in their creative paradigm resonates throughout 'Moments'. Inviting you to gaze deeper inside, the album floats in a haze of dreaminess and cottony serenity. Though seemingly simple, the track titles point at themes more complex and universal that will strike a chord with every soul.

Traversed by a vaporous jazz vibe and highlighting an obvious lean towards laid-back atmospheres, 'Moments' effortlessly alternates between. Lo slung house 'Sunrise' features James Yuill, the heavy-lidded, funky bass-heavy 'Memories' and the rolling brass anthem 'Time', in collaboration with Jaw - and more doped up trip-hop-ness. 'Life', the slo-mo chugger that will get the feels on alert, the chillax of 'Nothing' and 'Love,' and the luscious 'Moment' feat. Angelika Nowak, a sample-heavy, soul jam whose naive charm will prove hard to resist, even for the stonehearted.

Catz 'n Dogz explore inwards the heart's non-spoken spheres, where the pop-infused hip-hop 'Meditate' introduces Heather Chelan. A more personal affair 'Listen' makes for a playful interlude. 'It's OK' invites you to let go of the shame at shedding tears, a memorable cut with its joyful whistling, elated guitar riffs and rousing bass.

To close off this sonic micro-odyssey, 'Tomorrow' casts a spell of positiveness. With blazing synth lines and robotised talk, unfolds an anthem for tomorrow's world. One where music holds the crucial place it's always had. So be the kids' dreams, the person they want to be in the future. Be Batman, be a firefighter, be a rock star.

On Tony's Tamborder: You are also an instrument maker: you created the Tamborder - how do you create an instrument? Where did the idea of creating an instrument that creates sound come
from?
Tony: Every gesture always hides a basic culture. I come from the art academy, from drawing. A person that comes from drawing, from painting, clearly comes from an impact with colour. I turn to music first with a colourist aspect, that is, the music for me
is in color; for me the combination of colours is fundamental. When I go to Africa, I see that there are coloured things... I used to say: I play the drums, everyone's drums, but what is my drum? So I thought of combining a bit of modern electronics with what is instead the sound of Africa and the Tamborder was born - which means frontier drum.
An instrument was born over the years, perfected but unique. I made Kalimba's notes with that instrument, I can make a complete composition with that instrument. I have been to America to do music therapy and to universities to show this instrument. It was born like this, by chance, I can't tell you how the path went, it was magically born from a mistake. I was looking for something, on my own I was trying to mix crazy combinations and this unique sound was born.

"Dreamwalks" as well as the other songs on "A Dive Into the Subconscious" musically reflect the emotional level of memories and experiences of the producer. Drips Zacheer deals with central issues of his life, such as family, friends, travel and also fears and tries to reach the subconscious of his listeners through this sound game. The appropriately playful cover designs come from the Berlin artist and illustrator Rahel Süßkind.
Drips Zacheer is a real beatgeek on the midi controller. The 25-year-old musician has been producing hip-hop instrumentals for almost ten years, which are based on LoFi, Chill-Hop, BoomBap, jazz and also progressive rock and Bossanova. Until he was 19 he grew up in Chalkida, the capital of the Greek island of Evia, until he moved to Rhethymno on Crete to study audio engineering. He started out in 2011 as a producer for a befriended hip-hop crew, and in 2016 he began producing beats for himself. Since then he has established himself as one of the most relevant producers in the Greek beat scene and with his choice of sounds shows that he has a knack for vinyl samples and harmonic arrangements. His upcoming album "A Dive Into the Subconscious" makes it clear that instrumentals are not only used as a background for rappers, but have earned their own standing in the scene. Drips Zacheer produces beats to listen and linger - a little journey into your own subconscious.

We step into a pristine wilderness on the B-side, stately pads gliding over a supple rhythm section while tender chimes tug at your heartstrings. Emotion abounds on an instrumental which never was. Big boys do cry, and this dove's weeping over broken wings…

After his debut "Mare Aperto", Amsterdam-based Gropina returns to the light with a four tracks 12” EP out on Paesaggi Records.

“Microcosmo” is a synth melody with a slow-rolling Roland 606 drum-machine rhythm, Quena flute by Hamburg saxophonist Linus Kleinlosen, ambient pads, and natural field recordings. The atmosphere of the song brings you into a dewdrop in a blade of grass in the early morning hours right after the twilight of a sunny day. Following we fade into a dreamy dancefloor jam called “Awumbuk” where bittersweet chords are backed with a Yamaha RX5 rhythm, a groovy FM baseline from a Yamaha DX100, and Roland D50 Lush pads. On the flip, we can find an adventurous downtempo break jam called “Natura Naturans” marked by trance-y elements, a solid bassline, and an evocative flute melody. The journey ends with “Omen” which is a dark slow jam characterized by a live processed drum machine groove with a hint of wave influence and a metaphysical vibe to it.

Side B and the riso-printed insert depict the head of the bifid siren from the Romanesque church of S.Pietro in Gropina. In Christian symbology, the fish-tailed siren represents the seductive power of the senses and illusion, which distracts man from the spiritual realm by attracting him to ephemeral pleasures. The siren, like every human-animal hybrid creature, is the duality of intellect-primordial instincts and the conflict between the double nature of man.

Microcosmo has been conceived and recorded between 2018 and 2020.

Completing a red hot trio of remix EPs of Calm’s By Your Side album is this final part with Lucas Croon, Cantoma and Gallo and Yuri Shulgin all serving up expansive and mind altering new versions.

He doesn’t release often but when he does you need to listen to Lucas Croon. His unique take on ‘Before Landing’ is a proper dance floor heater to get you on your toes. Once you're there, a gentle rush of rave euphoria tases over you and sends shivers down your spine as old school breakbeats and glowing pads complete the trip.

Elsewhere, long time Balearic pin up, scene hero and all round blissed out boss man Phil Mison has a new album corn gin the spring. Before that, he becomes Cantoma for a timeless version of ‘You Can See The Sunrise Again’ that has bright blue skies and jaunty chords making you move.

Regular label artist homie Gallo is in the form of his life right now - he's resident DJ at Hell Yeah's weekly Balearic night Buena Onda in Berlin, has a growing reputation for being one of the best eclectic selectors in the game and is currently working on compiling the forthcoming BUENA ONDA comp with label head Marco. He gets long legged on his deep cut remix of ‘Sky Color Passing’ which is another killer that slowly but surely works you in a slow motion acid trance.

Completing this most exquisite outing is Yuri Shulgin, a multi-instrumentalist music producer from Tajikistan with credits on Cocktail d'Amore Music. His spellbinding take on 'Ending of Summer, Beginning of Autumn' is a fusion of jazz, leftfield and electronica will have you in a spin and your head lost in the clouds amongst the twinkling stars and cosmic pads.

This double A-sider is the fruit of a long gestating collaboration with fellow Malmö-based record collector/selector & producer Simon alias Rizzolo DJ (alias Moisture). Closely intertwined with the label in various ways since the start, his path to producing started with re-edits and a more wild-haired approach to deejaying, finally landing into his own groove with the 2018 album A Freak Is Born. Released as a privately pressed cassette, the album featured two tracks co-produced with Fasaan founder Prins Emanuel.

On that first album, the palette was a lo-fi reverie of minimal waves crashing into depths of goth and heights of camp. Here for the 12" format, we instead get the full onslaught of power tools gleaming in the blast of strobe lights. The weight of GAMMUT unfolds and delivers exactly what the title suggests: a complete scope of percussive barrage unleashed in tight locked grooves and smattering reverberations. In addition to that, we are treated with a spine-tingling re-imagining of the concept of a bass drop.

For ORGONE, a 1984 track by Norwegian group Fra Lippo Lippi serves as the backbone of the composition. Championed by cosmic DJ Daniele Baldelli and here pitched down to wrongspeeder tempo, Moisture uses the original song to bridge the gap between his roots in the re-edit scene as well as in the cosmic tradition. Thedry mechanical bassline is flanked by hollow percussion that eventually propels into a crystal-chimmering microcosm of orgone energy.

Two downtempo tracks by Khotin originally released only in Japan are now available for the first time on this limited edition hand-stamped 7”. A side “Mind Altar” first appeared as a bonus on the Japanese edition CD of his 2017 album “New Tab.” On the flip, “A Loving Blue” was the bonus track included with the Japanese edition CD of his latest “Finds You Well” album on Ghostly International. Pressed in Canada and lovingly stamped and stickered at Khotin Industries HQ.

Journeyman, DJ, radio presenter, beat raconteur - it's been hard to keep up with all of iZem's movements lately. The innovatve Lisbon-based French producer has been hard at work on his debut LP Hafa, exploring the sounds of Latn America and North Africa in a vivid analogue-digital, genre-defying soundscape that is sure to leave your head spinning. Inspired by cultural greats like Jack Kerouac, Paul Bowles, Tahar Ben Jelloun and Matsse, iZem spent tme soaking up the atmosphere at the inspiring Café Hafa, an idyllic clif-top joint overlooking the strait of Gibraltar, in Tangier, Morocco, which has formed a golden backdrop to his debut LP. Brimming with soulful exotcism, personal narratves and adven-turous collaborators, Hafa has been an experiment in taking on the afro-centric sounds of his journey to-date by incorporatng modern, introspectve songwritng and hybrid beats.
Ofen writng music whilst crossing contnents, the only place iZem allows dust to setle is in the heart, heat and rhythms of his local-global future sounds. A decade of nomadism between Spain, Brazil, Argentna, Ireland and Portugal made way for a series of critcally acclaimed EP's and remixes for Soundway, GAMM, Far Out, Agogo, ZZK records, Wah Wah 45s, and Mais Um Discos. Arrival on the global, forward-thinking, artstcally leffeld scene was predicted by Gilles Peterson, XLR8R, Okay Player and fellow tropical hed Quantc. iZem is an acronym for In Ze Early Morning' and his debut album Hafa' evokes new days
dawning in far-of lands and strring horizons of the present. So if you aren't hearing iZem's pastche of future tropical rhythms and organic grooves on statons such as BBC, KCRW or
Funkhaus Europa, then make sure you you catch him raising the dance foor temperature on one contnent or another.

New HC Records release is available, this time in cassette format, the label’s first K7 reference and, this time, we have put our faith to one of the most experimental faces of electronics with a proposal by the French artists InhuM’AwZ .
In this proposal they deliver us a very high-level experimental electronics set of six tracks, loaded with hypnotic atmospheres filled with unique sensations.

An outstanding work and a production with a lot of care presented by InhuM’AwZ, in which, for around 50 minutes, we will be able to embark ourselves on a journey full of unprecedented emotions.

For our fifth release, San-Kofa presents Meanwhile. Meanwhile harmoniously intersects rhythm, melody and harmony in a 19-track story drifting through Hip-Hop, percussive Ethio rhythms and grooves with modern UK influences and hints of Afro Jazz. In contrast to his earlier sample-based days he now records everything in his studio. Throughout Meanwhile you’ll also hear Kunde’s voice being used as a colorful layered and diverse instrument.

Belonging is the second full length album by Berlin based producer Takeleave.

The multi-instrumentalist dedicates this release to an allegory of arrival and homesickness, after his first album Inner Sea focused on the journey itself. While the latest album was mostly written in different places, Belonging has been produced solely in the same place in Berlin, where most of the songs have evolved from intuitive jams on the instrument.

„This album turned out to sound as intimate and intuitive as it was for me when writing these songs. I feel like i got a little step closer to my own sound over the last year.“

After he became one of the most respected name in the global Balearic scene skipping rocks across water and moving through an amazing and different philosophy. A Vision of Panorama's latest release is an extremely well-designed album which is morphing his synth-o-logy on even more subtly and glistering shapes. With previous 12'' releases on Mellophonia, Cala Tarida Musica and Omena gave us the first sings ''Tiger'' was a matter of time. Boogie-crafted sound with squelching percussions and a touch of 'jazz in the house' which representing the charismatic sound of Larry Heard is managing not only to satisfy his already fans but to be discovered by tones of new ones who their musical references are not only the European 'state of Balearic music' but the breezy US sound too

Sound system orientated experimentations around the hardcore rave continuum thematic by our collective member Stefan Dubs.

Second release of the year already from the party music people of Abstrack. This time, it’s Brussels based artist Strapontin whose original production is on the menu, with re interpretation from several gifted companions. The multitude here is no excuse for genericity or easy recipes, rather a fertile playground for toying around with a wide range of vibes and moods.

Matches is a poetic, sensual spoken-word piece. The song feels like a flower about to blossom, though with plenty of hybrid DNA in it. In the end it leaves the way wide open for further emotions to get through. And they do.

Sasnal Park is the emotion of wander : looking for something forever, but for what? The drums make you believe that you found it but they turn out to be a mirage, and so does every tangible element of the track. A beautiful journey in the end even if you don’t know where you’ve been.

Family Diner … no ambiguity this time : a mystical roller as dark as it is trippy. Or maybe more trippy. Either way, not sure you can resist dancing to this one played out loud. Lose yourself to screaming halfway through, but only to fall back well rooted in those dancing feet afterwards.

On the flip, remixers put it where they’re expected to : A Strange Wedding takes the wandering “Sasnal Park” on the Edge of trancy club music, closer to the roots of Abstrack parties.

Feon turns the belter “Family Diner” into a road roller : sirens and massive subs engage into a memorable fist fight.

And home man Vidock choses the very dreamlike “Matches”, adding quite a touch of dancefloor but not removing one inch of dream.

Available on limited edition LP, each physical album comes as a special package consisting of a gatefold with insert, 180g black vinyl and original cover artwork by photographer Alessio Boni.
