DJ Yoda teams up with the mighty Nubya Garcia and Boston Hip-Hop legend Ed O.G. for ‘Roxbury’. Originally released on Yoda’s ‘Home Cooking’ it’s been lovingly remixed but the originators of cut and paste Double Dee & Steinski. The b-side is Yoda’s collaboration with Joel Culpepper ‘London Fields’. This too has been remixed and this time it’s by Lewis Recordings labelmates The Still Brothers

Smoove gets his hands on the Multitrack layers of an all time classic Blaxploitation tune and brings out the drum break to great effect while fusing epic orchestral breakdowns.

On the flip side Smoove reworks one of his favourite tunes by stripping it back to a vamp section and replacing the original drum machine with some alternative outtake drums!

Smoove returns with his label Wack Records and delivers two killer cuts straight from the heart of Motown.

Utilizing original Multitracks from the home of Rick James and The Supremes, Smoove gets his swirv on and delivers two up-tempo Hip-Hop bangers!

Formed in 2017 by the frontman OLLY RIVA. The Magnetics sound is a mix of vintage Jamaican sounds including SKA from the 60s, Rocksteady, early Reggae, but all in a Soul and Rhythm N Blues setting.

This 7" include Queen's cover "Love of My Life" and original ska tune "Genie of The Lamp".

Introducing ‘Dad Bod Dub', a 4-piece live dub band cooking up tunes from the deep forests of South Western Australia. Expect heavy basslines, skank-worthy guitar riffs, and infectious rhythms that will transport you to a dub paradise. This year marks the 40th anniversary of Eurythmics 'Sweet Dreams', released in 1983. Dad Bod Dub celebrates this and transforms this 80s hit to their dubbed out world of groovin moody goodness. Their first vinyl release, a hypnotic dub version of 80's hit Sweet Dreams by Eurythmics features the soulful vocals of Zed Fields, reminiscent of Fat Freddy's Drop's singer, Dallas Tamaira. On the B side is 'Experimental Sounds', a funky dub instrumental with haunting melodica and bubbling bongos.

For our 15th release, and the 1st 45pm in our next series of inches, Altered Tapes created a version of "Power" focused on Chill Rob that will hopefully make you forget about Snap completely. Featuring bell-less drum break that we all know and love and the energy turned up a few notches for a Moombahton/ Jazz Dance / B-Boy killer. Includes a hookless, but horny instrumental on the flip side for your cutting pleasure. It's getting kinda hectic! Doubles are recommended.

Featuring a duo of 80s Funk remixes from DJ Organic (Phoenix, USA) who takes a Clinton classic to the club, while Nick Bike (Vancouver, Canada) walks a fine line between House and Hip-Hop with his Rick James flip. There's a big BPM difference between the sides which makes this one a must-have

The debut release from the new Studio 45 project features reworks of some classic Disco-infused blends from way back in the day, both remixed and refreshed for 2023, and available on a 45 for the very first time! First up, Del Gazeebo brings his own classic cut "Got to be Large" featuring Cheryl Lynn & Kool Keith up to date. On the flip, he turns his attention to LL Smooth K's "Can I Get a Soul Clap", breathing fresh life into Grand Wizard Theodore's old skool jam. Early support from Jalapeno Soundsystem, Nick Halkes (Disco Wonderland). And thanks to The Allergies for making it their "tune of the month" on this month's podcast.

When the pandemic stopped the world, the Dusty Donuts crew created ways (beyond new record releases) to enliven conversations with the worldwide DJ family. One of these concepts is the NEEDLE DROPS livestream show on Twitch, where world-renowned DJs were challenged to show off their creativity through topic-based DJ-sets.

Acclaimed as one of the deepest shows on the web, it featured heavyweight guests like: DJ Koco, Shortkut, Mr. Thing, Skratch Bastid, Rhettmatic, The Gaff or Cosmo Baker, among a host of other talents. From these engaging episodes, rose the idea for a new sub-label to release original music by and for original people, curated and operated by Marc Hype, DJ Robert Smith & Stinoe.

Here it is, the brilliant first volume of NEEDLE DROPS featuring two stone-cold west coast classics by fan favorites UGLY DUCKLING, first time on a 45, sounding fresh as hell!

We know by know that when an idea enters the mind of French producer Moar and he sets off on a mission to the studio that we're in for a real treat. His 45 Loves series has been a staple of DJs who have the knack of turning the night around when the preceding track clears the floor. The DJ's secret weapon arsenal should include a DJ Loves bazooka like 'Rock vs Rap' trust us. Just imagine if Larry Mullen, The Edge and Adam Clayton ditched their mullet wearing frontman and headed across the pond to seek the services of the Def Jam crew to add some quick snap raps to the mix. With Moar behind the boards we have a great example of what that might sound like had that scenario played out. This one hits the spot! On the flip, the Young brothers instant classic riff meets Missy's brassy raps and it's the perfect blend of some hardcore rock with that Missy flow that you simply don't want to miss out on.

Peace can be just as prosperous as war.. Even for the corporations..there's nothing wrong with making money. It's what you do with it that counts..

It just takes a little bit of time and thought. But greed leads to the inequality of more than 80% of our world.. We need to help people become aware of this.. It's not where we're from, it's where we're at!

Gqom Oh! records presents "The Originators", a five track EP respresenting the past, the present and the future of Gqom - the thunderous club sound from Durban, South Africa. The Gqom Oh! label was set up by Rome-based DJ and musician Nan Kolè to highlight the music and artists of Durban, the often overlooked cradle of the new South African sound. The label's 2016 compilation - 'Gqom Oh! The Sound of Durban Vol.1' - broke the sound out of South Africa, Pitchfork calling it The largest and most thoughtful survey of the genre available to western audiences to date'. Recently joining Kolè is Sboniso Brandon Luthuli aka Citizen Boy on the ground as local A&R. The EP's A-Side is dedicated to two of the genre's most prominent producers. DJ Lag is a frontrunner in pushing Gqom worldwide. Making music from a young age and building up a solid reputation in South Africa, he's known as the "King of Gqom". Griffit Vigo, a real innovator in the Gqom genre, grew up in the same area as DJ Lag and has attained a legendary status amongst his peers. "When I was in Durban the first time I noticed that Griffit Vigo was a kind of legendary figure, he'd been inspiring all the Gqom Durban artists for a long time. Nobody knew where he was but everybody was playing him and sometimes using his beats to make new songs. The main track 'Ree's Vibe' was the peak moment of DJ Lag's sets all over the world. If Lag is the Gqom King then Griffit Vigo is the Gqom Legend."- Nan Kolè. Sbucardo is one of the most respected DJs around the streets and the townships of Durban. Featuring Abnormal on 'Iphoyisa', whose lyrics in Zulu translate to We at the club, Mr police man don't disturb us", the track represents the South African scene and Gqom culture in Durban very well. Naked Boyz (officially the first in Durban to explore new territories in broken beat in 2011) 'Story Teller' is characteristic of the Sgubhu style, a blend of Gqom with more conventional house sounds, the new genre taking over Durban and finding its way onto mainstream radio. Scene kingpins Rude Boyz round off the release's line up of Gqom originators with 'Umshunto'.

These four edits are imbuing you with uplifting and lovely vibes but also a fragrant and sensuous melancholy. A looking back to old times and its optimistic, forward-tending spirit.

The Disconet Greatest Hits series continues at a pace with number 7! Up first we have the original Disconet version of Globe & The Whiz Kid's 'Play That Beat', which was the first ever outing of 'Lesson 1 - The Payoff' which pioneered the whole sampling movement. Up next we have the heavy hitting dancefloor Kat Mandu's 'The Break', which has a true carnival feel! On the flip we have the Disconet version of Graffitti's blissful 'Feeling Love' which hit in 1979, and the Moroder inspired 'Dancer Dance' by Pussyfoot.
