Brewing another supremely heavy release on the horizon, Moonshine Recordings is stealing the spotlight once again. Proudly presenting Violinbwoy's first solo album, unadulterated sound system pressure at its finest. Slavic chants and drum rhythms meet the unrivaled power of Violinbwoy's eccentric take on modern bass music 'Fyetisov' kicks off the stellar 3x12" release with a high-powered Stepper emission. Setting the tone with a rumbling bassline and supremely energetic lead instrumentation, full force sound system music down to its core. Shining in a different light, 'Moonspell' reveals its melancholic nature gradually intensifying through otherworldly percussion and anthemic vocal sample placements. Stripped down to its bare bones,'Dubplate' unleashes its detuned, percussive shackles for a massive onslaught of four-to-the-floor, while keeping true to Jamaica's music roots. Warbling tape echo spheres and excellence in emotive expression Violinbwoy's collaboration with singer Marina P turns out to be an anthem by itself enthralling, whoever gets caught into the midst of this hymn of a track. Not backing down one step from the established level of quality, 'Sound System' featuring Junior Dread excels once more in a crystal-clear demonstration of modern roots music mandatory repeat listening. Rejoicing in simplicity, 'Rig Alert' holds true to what the name suggests - cinematic bass meditation, fluidly scaling with the size of its speaker counterpart. Moving on to Dan s vocal skills in 'Wanted': Rastafarian wisdom chanting along a skanking rhythm and orchestral atmosphere. Ethereal bells being submerged in moving air and scattered white noise, 'Run & Hide' demonstrates a more experimental side within the LP exhibiting Downtempo/Ambient inclinations in a magnificent combination with Dub characteristics, only increasing in energy to the call of the dub siren. Ready for more, the title track 'dod' captures us within the expressive, introductory playing of the violin, deserting it for echoes and sub oscillations alike. Calling upon the prowess of Rider Shafique, his harmonic toasting is being escorted by a forward-minded halftime groove in 'Find The Way'. Topping the LP off with Sis' excellence in telling a story through song on a hypnotic instrumental. The nature of last tunes is often powerful, serving to concede with an explosion, appropriate of the session as is the case with 'Surfacing' closing off the monumental EP with visceral lead movements, setting the tone alongside driving drums and one more murderous bassline, sure of receiving countless rewinds in the near future. Encompassing a plethora of current Roots- Dub- and Steppa- influenced styles, Moonshine's next LP installment is sure to be received for what it is: a definitive, quality expedition of what's firing up dance floors around the globe.

The Green returns with their first full-length release since 2013's award-winning Hawai'i '13.
That record debuted at #1 on the Billboard Reggae Chart and cracked the Top 100, as well,
before going on to win an unprecedented three Na Hoku Hanohano awards in the band's
native Hawaii. After years of touring to support that release, the band focused on making
their next record with some longtime musical partners, including producers Leslie Ludiazo (J
Boog, Hot Rain) and Christian Mochizuki (Graves). The band also solicited
Songwriter/Producer Brian Fennell (Ryan Tedder, One Republic, The Fray, Third Eye Blind) to
help explore some new elements in their sound. The new release has an amazing mix of
pop-influenced lovers rock along with the Green's patented island reggae. Guests include
Jamaican dancehall superstar Busy Signal, Grammy-nominees J Boog and Rebelution's Eric

Shamrock grew up in the township called 'Kwathema', In the east of Johannesburg. He has being crazy for music since he was a young child, and at primary school he sang as the soloist in the choir.

Everyone now knows that South Africa is the house music capitol of the world! Most young upcoming producers look up the American and European producers, But Shamrock's sound is standing out from the rest, as he's been digging into his African roots to come up with his own style of music, working with mainly South African musicians, only using the computer to record the audio.

On this album he's also featured international musicians Han Litz,Flutist from the Netherlands, Asali, vocalist from Kenya, Andy Compton, from the UK, and Jimmy Gabriel on Sax from Nigeria.

His first releases came out on a South African label in 2014.

He's well known in South Africa for his live guitar shows, normally jamming with DJ's. This is how he first met Andy Compton, and secured the Peng connection.

Shamrock was a main writing contributor for the fantastic 'Sowetan Onesteps' project, and after that success he knew the home for his album would be on Peng, which offers his sound to a worldwide audience

Geographically based in Hamburg, Germany - label owner and prolific producer JahYu aptly combines the roots heritage of Dub music with traditional Korean, oriental influences - forming the foundation of his signature sound with the message of outernational unity beyond national borders through the release's lyrics. Churning out bass-centered dance music for over half a decade, the talented artist has unceasingly refined his sonic qualities, a certainty, which is further proven to be true with TCR002 - a four-track heavyweight of his collaboration with venerated MC and vocalist Ras Tinny - dubbed 'Freedom of Movement'. Wondrous flute melodies emerge and join the true-to-the-roots rhythm alongside the invigorating chants of Ras Tinny, submerged in low frequencies and skanking chords. Firmly woven into the contemporary roots scene, Alpha & Omega picks up the pace with their version - switching up the bassline, routing the original through the black box that is their quality dubwise production, while keeping the arrangement true to the original overall. Flipping the record, we're met with an introspective spin on the original. Aligning itself alongside submerged low frequency oscillations, tending to a more modern sonic signature than its A-Side counterpart - enveloped in a melancholic, pensive atmosphere - deep meditation is guaranteed. Dub-Stuy welcomes up and coming producer Blind Prophet for a conscious dub release in collaboration with Russia's Tenor Youthman and Italy's Numa Crew.

Long Island, New York's Blind Prophet makes his debut on Dub-Stuy Records alongside the vocal talents of Tenor Youthman , one of the founders of Russia's Lion Posse sound system. ' Marijuana Burns Capitalism ' is a deep and meditative social statement sure to move the dance and stimulate the heads.

On 'Marijuana Burns Capitalism', Blind Prophet lays down a solid riddim, with a deep driving bassline and a bubbly harpsichord skank, for Tenor Youthman to sing about the liberating properties of hemp in fighting the evils of mass production and capitalism. The result is a simple and effective cut backed by a sparse dub that lets the drums and bass roll out to full effect.

The flip side sees Florence's Numa Crew deliver their own fire for the dance with another straight to the chest dub version that focuses on the bassline and Tenor's unique vocal style.

Homeys Records new release,'Something new', features the first collaboration between Marina P and the upcoming french producer KSD. Once the original track was completed, the vocals were given to three other producers close to the italian singer for remixing. Stand High Patrol's version offers a jazzy take on the track with unexpected footwork influences. TWM, for his very first release, presents a steppers version made for the soundsystem. Homeys brings a roots reggae touch with a flute part that leads the theme.

Jules Elipse (Elipse Music) is known for his eclectic output - here he tackles the jungle genre with characteristic aplomb! Featuring three ragga-infused cuts of authentic 94/95 style jungle at or around the 160bpm mark, with hyper-syncopated drums, ragga chants and a devilishly dark mood prevailing over the tracks - 7th Storey Projects presents The Dogheart EP.

'As the son and nephew of pioneering UK nu roots dub duo Alpha & Omega — bassist Christine Woodbridge and keyboard player John Sprosen — Ben Alpha Steppa grew up surrounded by sound system and dubplate culture, starting in his mother's womb at Channel One and Jah Shaka shows. In his music the competing influences of nature and nurture cannot be separated. He has grown to become one of the most prolific and inventive dub producers around, absorbing worldwide inputs into his productions without dilution of their constituent parts, most notably with his recent Trigram series. On this set collaborating artists are from Russia, Senegal, Nigeria, Jamaica, Suriname and Brazil, but the true test of all reggae/ dub productions is when they stand alone in the mix, here with the horn driven march of "Concrete Meditation". To gain some grasp of the genesis of this new project, that may seem surprising at first, let's address what both artists have in common, rather that what differentiates them. Internationally recognized masters in the styles, respectively reggae & dub, that they are developing in parallel for almost 20 years, without never really meeting each other, the two protagonists strive to challenge their codes in an ever greater respect to their Jamaican roots: two decades furthering a relentless fight against musical orthodoxy, to the benefit of interbreedings that have always been major contributions to music — and arts in general — History. This is evidenced by jazz and Jamaican traditional music fusion in the case of Harrison Stafford, and notably with his amazing adventure with Groundation, as well as by Martin Nathan countless experimentations, over Brain Damage prolific discography, always digging in more unlikely and audacious directions.

From this unexpected collaboration will stem « Liberation Time » album, an LP that will delight many fans of the two artists' works, all what builds their respective uniqueness being there so well intricated. Harrison Stafford unique voice supports, in a most elegant way, the delivery of a uniting message focused on self-empowerment through music and his universalist vision of Rastafarian faith. A former student of Jamaica's famed Alpha Boys' school, Rico Rodriguez served his musical apprenticeship playing trombone in some of the island's most celebrated orchestras and bands. A spell at Count Ossie's camp in Wareika Hills introduced him to the Rasta faith and a new approach to music, which he later introduced to his studio work.

In 1961, he emigrated to London, where he became a regular on growing the UK West Indian music scene, cutting numerous sides for every Jamaican music maker of note, including Trojan's in-house producer, Robert Thompson aka Dandy.

Dandy duly paired the trombonist with Britain leading reggae group, The Rudies, with the collaboration spawning an array of singles and the immensely popular album, Blow Your Horn, released by Trojan late in 1969.

Unavailable in any format for over 20 years, this highly sought-after boss reggae album is finally available once more, with the discovery of the long lost of the original Trojan master tapes ensuring it sounds better than ever!
